Big wave to Iggy as she races out the door in one of her new maternity cardigans

MLS 4 hours to go!

Neeko · 24/02/2010 10:25

Morning!

Despite having texted already I'm also sending positive vibes and huge hugs to MLS Remember your symptoms have been strong and you've had no indication that anything is wrong. This is a different pregnancy and what's gone before is null and void. Really wish I could be with you in RL to hold your hand but the inconsiderate airline staff won't let me fly!

4ever still smiling for you. Glad all ok. Hope you enjoyed One Born last night. I thought the VBAC woman's husband was a bit of a prat. She was clearly scared and instead on encouraging her he was telling her it was her own fault and she should have asked for a section! Grrr!

Moon It DOES sound promising but I totally understand why you're scared. Day 29 today - maybe a wee test on Fri? You'll def be 14 days past your ov pains by then. Ok, no more pressure just

Blue Poor Ben and his first jags. They're so small to have them aren't they? (Although I really believe in having them done) DD has her pre-school boosters tomorrow - eek!

Sabs Hope you're feeling better today and you can get on with showing Saara the world

Mermaid FWIW I miss you too. Hope you're doing ok. The thread just isn't the same without you.

Jools Hope you're ok too and you and DP are dealing with your grief together. Big hug.

Big hug to Monkey too. I'm sure every day is such a rollercoaster for you at the moment.

Curly I also had a at Grace asleep on your chest. My DH used to fight me for those cuddles after DD had fed. He called them Puggled Cuddles (translation: exhausted) and actually announced out of the blue the other day that he can't wait to have one with this baby.

LBM Glad the class was so positive and hope your cold is better. I know I could go anyday and am organised in the sense that the bags are packed but I'm also mentally bracing myself that I could go until 42 weeks. Don't worry though, I won't stay at home long enough to risk a home birth - especially not when I've been doing all this cleaning!

Vjay What have you got planned for your weekend away? Have heard that Dynamic Earth is good and may be quite entertaining for DS1.

Morning Annie How's things?

Thanks for your lovely words yesterday. As always they do help. Feeling much better today. Have resumed the cleaning too although it's snowing here so no washing out today.
I found a gorgeous pre-pregnancy top at the back of the wardrobe today when I was looking for something else. Just out of interest and with no pressure intended, how are our yummy mummies getting on with getting back into their pre-pregnancy clothes? Took me aaages with DD and never got right back down. THIS time though...

iggypiggy · 24/02/2010 10:01

Sorry been away a bit - just dropping by the say yay for 4ever and her scan - was thinking of you yesterday!

MLS good luck for today - have my hand too. x

VJay · 24/02/2010 10:00

I know! normally I dig my finger nails into my palm to stop me crying, but last night I was eating a curry so couldn't. I did try to blame on the curry but it was only a korma

MummyLovesSadie · 24/02/2010 09:58

Vjay that's just like me, I couldn't ever cry openly about a tv program in front of dh, I'd never hear the last of it! !

VJay · 24/02/2010 09:52

mls my fingers are firmly crossed for you, I really think this is your time this time, stay positive .
I cried at 'enders too last night, it was very emotional wasn't it! but very good too. I tried to hide my tears from DH cos he laughs at me, but he spotted them when he spoke to me, and I answered in a wobbly voice

MummyLovesSadie · 24/02/2010 09:47

Thanks Annie & Vjay, I'm 7+2, scan is 2.30.

anniebigpants · 24/02/2010 09:38

Thinking of you today for your scan MLS-ive got a gut feeling everything going to be fine, sending positive vibes and big hugs.

VJay · 24/02/2010 09:34

MummyLovesSadie · 24/02/2010 08:05

MummyLovesSadie · 23/02/2010 21:06

Eeek, if I still lived in Yorkshire I'd drive round to yours with my magic brown jiffy-bag!

Now watching channel 4 & crying again.

BlueMoon1981 · 23/02/2010 21:01

BlueMoon1981 · 23/02/2010 20:45

for 4ever so happy the scan went well

fingers, toes, legs, arms, feet and everything else crossed for mls tomorrow

curly lovely to see you checking up on us, you sound so very happy its making me its me on the 2ww, not sure about any other small panters, im on cd 28 today and about my cramps and funny taste in my mouth, its all my head right...

neeko we've all been there and know how sad the day is, thinking of you lots, and woohoo to being on maternity leave

MummyLovesSadie · 23/02/2010 20:09

Oh Gawd, Eastenders..... bawling my eyes out now.

4ever yippee for your scan. I hope you can relax & enjoy the rest of your pregnancy a bit more now.

Blue give Benjamin a kiss from me. Breaks your heart when the cow of a nurse is sticking a needle in your poor little darling child!

LBM I take it that it wasn't an nct antenatal class you went to? They are all a bit holier than thou about pain relief. Totally agree with you about the control thing. With dd's labour I felt totally out of control & that is such a scary feeling, on top of that there's the pain of labour & it doesn't add up to a very pleasant birthing experience.

Neeko how are you doing now? I hope you found the swimming cathartic & you will wake up tomorrow in a slightly sunnier place. Did you clean like a demon again today?

I'm looking forward to One Born Every Minute tonight, will probably end up bawling my eyes out again. I've been feeling extremely sick all day, that's a good sign isn't it..........?

bluesatinsash · 23/02/2010 19:44

Quicky from me just to say SOOOO happy for you 4ever and 4evergirl all present and correct and growing just grand . Hope your on couch waiting for 'enders as I type .

Neeko - big hug for you honey. The cruelest thing about MMC is the looking back on the days/weeks that you thought you were carrying your lo and they were already gone . Well done for all that swimming

MLS - still squeezing hand for tomorrow, know you will be a nervous wreck tonight but we're all here thinking about you and willing a sticky bean xxx

LBM - great to hear you had a fab time in Edinburger and great tips re: labour it is indeed about having a great baby not so much a great labour

Benjamin has his first jags this morning, wee lamb, Was very stoic but petted lip was out pronto followed by scare the pigeon screams. My darling boy!!

DS1 out of bath demanding I dress him, better shoot later dudes x

p.s. can't wait to see photos of Devon oh and Isabelle and Grace too!

OP posts:
littlebellsmum · 23/02/2010 19:18

MLS nearly forgot you - hope that everything is well tomorrow. Fingers, toes and everything is crossed....

littlebellsmum · 23/02/2010 19:17

Great news 4ever - my antenatal class was great too. The leader was really good - and for neeko especially emphasised that second labours are much shorter than the first. She also said second time round, don't stay at home too long if you are going to hospital as things move quicker. I can't believe you are at 36 weeks either - my no 2 arrived at 37 weeks and so babyNeeko could be here sooner than you think - heres hoping for you!

4ever she also said that the more you knew before you went into labour the better as you would feel more in control - imo, feeling in control is really important - with DS, when I was at home and in the bath, I didn't have any pain relief at all, but when I got to the hospital, I was v much out of control and I'm trying to avoid that bit this time!

She also had some great advice for the first timers - this is not about having the perfect labour but having a perfect baby and so, be open minded about pain relief etc. She also said that if you are going to be induced with the pump, ask for an epidural at the same time as it will hurt more, so you may as well have decent pain relief!

Final bit of advice was that if you want labour to speed up or keep going, keep moving - that bit I knew. However, if you want it to slow down, if for instance your DH isn't home or if the carer for your older child isn't there, then you need to lie down and stay still and the contractions will stop!

Re the hired pumps - I think you have to buy the bits that you wouldn't want to reuse, so the bit that everyone uses is just the electric bit! But then, I'm the opposite of MLS on these things and as long as I can wash it well and sterlize it, then I'm happy!

lovely to hear from you curly and that the feeding is going well for your gorgeous girl and you

vjay edinburgh was really good - hope you have a great time too

Anyway, must go, hi to everyone else, especially Moon who I think is on the 2ww?

VJay · 23/02/2010 18:21

X-posts 4vever, yay to your mammoth post , I was thinking more like Mr Tickle, but Mrs Fantastic sounds a lot better

VJay · 23/02/2010 18:19

4ever phew, glad all is well

lbm glad you had a fun time in Edinburgh, we are heading down there for a weekend of fun in a couple of weeks, can't wait

mls I don't know what is happening with this logging off business but it's doing my head in

4everhopeful · 23/02/2010 18:17

Hey lovelies

Thanks for the support as always! Im a very upright and reassured weeble after our great scan thank god! Even made up for the 1hr and a half wait! We were so relieved we could of waited 5hrs and had that good news & not cared! Main concern had been growth but our little beauty is right at the end of the growth scale, 95th percentile, (just over on some points!) & big & strong! She is about 2lb 6oz already! They checked her heart & kidneys again, & reassured that they are definitely looking healthy & strong, and wont suddenly develop a problem now, as if the 2 vessel cord would affect them, it would of happened already! My amniotic fluid is fine, and the reference to checking uterine arterys shouldn?t of been on the notes as is also fine! Next scan in 4 weeks! PHEW! THANK GOD! Thank you all so so much for the supportive texts and hand holds! I was telling her in the bath how loved she is by everyone including her lovely cyber aunties!

MLS you next tomorrow hon! I?ll be holding your hand tightly and saying a little prayer? What time is it? I so understand about getting in the zone, but rest assured we will all be in the room with you.. The gagging, sickness & emotionalness sounds very promising! I was in bits at Enders last night too!

Neeko thanks for the tx sweetie.. Sorry to hear today is a sad day.. You are not being morbid at all, that?s what we are all doing here, supporting & sharing.. Hope DD and bump gave you some reasons to smile today, and swimming relaxed you a bit (all 22 lengths! Impressed!)? Big Hug to you.. xx

Cupcake thanks for the txs too hon! Did you get the wotsits? Im I read it and thought ?mmmmmmm need some?, but then remembered Id given crisps up for lent! Must be mental! Roll on Easter! How was the house viewing? Any good?

Sabs thanks to you too lovely lady! Your always so supportive & sweet bless you! Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly and missed out on the new parents group.. Hope DH looking after you & you are feeling better soon!

Blue did you get your chocolate fix and phone the vicar? I intend to follow your lead re mat leave and swan round the garden topping up my tan in last weeks! Just saw DH bf who is getting married, he?d asked DH to be best man, was originally 15th May which thought was a bit close to due date, however last time they see each other he said the date was changed (unorganized chap! ) anyway, now moved to 5th June day after edd! Cant believe it! I just had a bit of a rant that Im not wishing baby to come early just to convenience them, so what will be will be! Don?t mind doing it with a week old newborn, but definitely not going with bags in car ready to pop & wont be too happy if DH goes just for service if baba not showed up yet! Typical!

Vjay I did at the image of you & told DH too of the long stretchy arms from Scotland to Surrey for me & MLS hand holds, with Ajay strapped to you! DH said he had an image of Mr Fantastic from The Fantastic Four! (except of course you would be Mrs Fantastic!)

Annie thanks for checking in on me too lovely lady! Hows your gorgeous boy? Hope the routines all settled now & you are getting some zzz?s while you can!

Mermaid lovely ? are you lurking out there? We miss you massively! Please don?t be a stranger! The greenhouse needs your tender touch! Thanks for still supporting you sweet kind soul.. Did you enjoy the Womans realm?!?

Iggy any decisions re dates for maternity leave yet? I know I can manage to get away with 3 day weeks til about 15th March! That should help me out some! Still debating beginning or end of April though!

LBM Edinburgh sounds fabulous! Reminds me of my holidays with my mum & dad yonks ago when I was a nipper! Sorry you got sick though! Colds are indeed rotten when pregnant, that congestion symptom doesn?t help matter either! Hope the ante natal class was good? Ours start on 29th March! Am looking forward to them! Cant get enough info ? shall be watching ?One born every minute? again tonight on C4 ? love it!

Curly Im melting at the thought of adorable squeaky newborn noises! BLESS! Please give Curly girl a tummy tickle and a hair smell from me! I agree with you Im thinking a BFP is imminent too!

Jools and Moon you two have been a bit quiet!!! Hows it all going?

Also been thinking of Monkey hope all is well with you sweetie? Im sure you?re still on a rollercoaster after the sad loss of your mum, coupled with the anxiety of a new pregnancy, let us know how you are?

Barbie lastly but not leastly Mrsmummy! Hows Devon doing? Cant wait to see pics & hear your birth story! Hope you are healing up ok and those docs in Dubai are taking lots of care of you? Your mum will soon be there to help DH look after you too after your c sect so Im sure that will help.. Check in soon please!

YAY! Mammoth post! Im back at work tomorrow, so will pop in afterwards ? Lotsa Love to you all! My sofa is calling! Been out all day, went mums after hospital, then MIL after that & not even sat on sofa yet! DH cooking & looking forward telly fest of Enders, Holby and One born every minute! X x x x x
