I'm feeling quite sad today as a friend of mine who is a couple of years older than me & has a dd the same age as mine has just had a failed attempt at ivf. She's had several mc's and cp's & she said she saw the ivf as a last chance of having a brother or sister for her dd. She'd started having acupuncture with someone local to her alongside the ivf but I've urged her to just give my lady a chance. I really hope she has got some fight left in her as I feel desperately sad for her.

I finally bullied persuaded DH into choosing furniture for DD's room last night. Ordered it over the internet at 10am and by noon they'd phoned to organise delivery for next week. I'm impressed, especially as my nesting can continue

DD had her pre-school boosters today - one in each arm. She broke her heart and I wanted to cry too. Went to nursery happily though.

Yay for MrsKate who started her Maternity leave at 7:30am this morning!!!

The Health visitor finally made it yesterday on day 19. Isabelle is now 8lb 3oz! Obviously one sided breast feeding does work! Still trying every trick in the book to get her to feed from left side, and expressing from it to store in freezer once she refuses to feed. I rang the NCT breast feeding helpline yesterday, they were really helpful, I was very impressed.

My top tip is the same as Curly's, release the old and tired swimmers a few days before ovulation.

Yay totally echo Iggys relaxed not tryin approach! We had removed the pressure of clinical planning & figured will stop stressing til new year & conceived that month in sept! Also just had sex for enjoyment & went to work after! Other thing was had several fortnightly swedish massages which i think helped relieve alot of deep rooted muscle stress!

Acupuncture def sounds worth a try, given your success!

lbm this won't help your friend - but the month I concieved I didn't do anything special - I had decided to take 3 months off and start again in the new year. So I stoped counting cycle days and the day we did actually concieve (apols if this TMI!) I was on top - and got up v. quickly and had shower immediately cos was running bit late for work! Not sure what this tells anyone about conception - but it did mean I stopped being so miserable about it all and was more thinking of sex for fun! Possibly this helped...

Mls im in tears just having read your post! That bit about lying there saying thank you over & over & over, tears rolling down my face even writing that now cos i still do that at every one of all the zillions of scans iv had with this baby & that feeling of happiness, gratefulness & wonderment after all the pre scan anxiety & fear is the best rollercoaster buzz believable on earth & Im right there in the room with you as promised with soggy pillow and all! Im so very very thrilled & big measurements are just a brilliant sign, what with the aspirin, cyclogest & acup i have such high hopes for you! Try & rest up as much as poss the next few weeks, nothing strenuous or stressful, you know the rest! Warn dh that after the sex feast now comes the famine! He shall never complain again of feeling 'used'! He'll be like a horny teenager by the time your ready to do it again! Mine is the poor soul! Just got brave enough over xmas at about 17wks for very gentle half hearted attempt, then had my cervical erosion bleed at 20 wks & ongoin thrush & too sacred again now! Must admit im missing it like mad now, but Dh isnt left neglected if you get my drift! There are means! Oh dear the tone of my post has dropped somewhat after my emotional & hormonal outpouring i started with! Shall retract by saying again Im just so very very very very very very very very very very very happy & thrilled for you sweetie! You so deserve this after the pain & heartache you have been through.. Shall be smiling all day for you! x x x x x

Yes I sent him the text of the scan pic! He sent a weird email this evening asking if I want to wait until 12 weeks to tell people. I didn't have the heart to tell him that all of my close friends, my Mum & Dad, my next-door-neighbour, the woman who runs the playgroup & a woman at my dd's ballet class already know!

Firstly Annie your poor little chaps! You must have been in pieces to see ds1 emerge from the loo covered with blood. That's just not nice.

Secondly, Moon TEST TEST TEST.... ad infinitum!

Thirdly, BLOODY HELL I'M REALLY PREGNANT! I was soooooooo scared in the waiting room. I was the only person there but they kept me waiting for over half an hour. Then when I went to see the doctor she spent ages asking me loads of questions she's already asked me three times before when all I wanted to do was drop my pants & jump on the couch! Anyway, once the probe was in it took her about 10 seconds to say that looks great! I then started gushing telling her I'd been trying to imagine her giving me good news & I just couldn't, all I could imagine was her giving me bad news as that was all she'd ever given me. She was taken aback by that & started quizzing me on how bad I felt every time I went to epu & did I dread going there..... uh, like YEAH! Then she was called out of the room & I had to lie there holding onto the probe myself like some kind of half-dressed porn queen! That was when the tears started, I lay there staring at the ceiling saying 'thank you, thank you, thank you'. I asked her if the egg had come from my left ovary as that's where most of the twinges are & she checked & said yes, then she checked the right one & said 'Hold on a minute, you have released an egg from this one too'. She then had to have a proper rummage to make sure there wasn't a second baby & then made a note of the fact for my maternity notes, just in case I suddenly have acute pain & it's found that there is a twin ectopic pregnancy.

The doctor was so lovely she suggested I take a photo of the scan on the screen to text to people, namely dh & Neeko! I also have a print-out of the scan which I'll be adding to my profile shortly. I've calculated that I'm 7+2 but the measurements are showing 7+6, I'm sure that'll change. I'm going back in two weeks for another scan - can't quite believe this is happening.

Thank you all for your lovely texts & emails today, it's you lot that are getting me through this.

Btw Iggy it could well have been the acupuncture that made me release two eggs as believe it or not I did ask my lovely acupuncturist if she could make me have twins!

Moon yes your body could be playing horrible tricks ( we've all been there) or you could actually be pregnant..... Time ( and testing) will tell - good luck!
