Shiney new thread before we drop off the end of the last one!

The pg hormone is apparently strongest in the concentrated morning pee, and so more like to give a BFP, should there be one to be had. But if you can't wait you can test at any time of day (esp as you have us all waiting to know too )

JustShaggingForNow · 27/07/2010 09:11

Do I need to test with my first morning urine? God I'm so dense on such matters!!!

mermummy · 27/07/2010 09:01

Just- I would test now, but then I have all the patience of a ... not very patient thing (couldn't think of humerous analogy).

I am sure your DH will trust you enough to know that if you are pg then it was a happy accident.

Good luck and keep us posted.

JustShaggingForNow · 27/07/2010 08:54

Got to love a good acronym!!!

bebe - I totally understand your views in the dreaded manflu. Mine is the same, still goes into work but with a real "poor me" face on him!! Thank God it's women that have to go through pregnancy and labour - otherwise the population would be seriously depleted!!

Still no sign for now. Usually a 29/30 day cycle. Now on CD32. Slightly freaking out because as much as I want a "happy accident" to occur, I'm not 100% convinced that DH will believe that it was an accident. Although surely the horrific binge drinking I've managed to undertake in the last month would indicate that this wasn't planned......

When do you think I should test? Thinking it might be a freakishly long cycle and that I should wait until the end of the week but that also thinking that I just want to know..... Advice please!!!

minipie · 26/07/2010 21:45

AF is Aunt Flo. i.e. your period. (No idea why we can't all just say period but there seems to be some MN mumsnet obsession with acronyms )

I get your reasons for waiting ... but it does take most people a few months to get PG so no point in timing it to the month really! (Mind you my own mum timed me to arrive in summer as my gran was a teacher and she wanted her around! and I duly turned up at the start of the summer!)

mermummy · 26/07/2010 21:34

Evening all.

Sorry to sound ignorant, what does AF stand for? Hope the happy accident is so.

Bebe hope the moping stops soon.

Went for coffee to after a playgroup with a friend today who is 7 weeks, brilliant for her, but makes me qustion our decision to wait all over again. Poor DH very bored of me and my one track mind.

bebejones · 26/07/2010 18:18

JS - Oh dear...maybe it is a 'happy accident'! Maybe you won't have to convince your DH to TTC earlier!

My DH has man flu...apparently it is terminal! Never known anyone mope quite like he does!

JustShaggingForNow · 26/07/2010 16:13

still no sign at the moment.....

JustShaggingForNow · 26/07/2010 09:04

morning girls!!
hope that you all had fun weekends. DH and I made the mistake of watching Revolutionary Road last night....... afterwards he was talking about how he was worried that I would end up bored to tears as a housewife.... Really?? It's all I've ever wanted. I couldn't give a stuff about my career and the sooner I can be a mummy and housewife the better in my eyes.....

Had another chat about how fed up I am of looking for jobs and having to chase recruitment agents who don't gave a damn. He's still not shifting on that TTC start date though and secretly I think he is hoping to wait until the end of 2011...... AF due today and no sign of her yet... wouldn't that be a wonderful accident!!!

bebejones · 25/07/2010 22:17

Nannyl - very exciting...stocking up!

I started taking the additional folic acid, I caved. Will be switching to proper prenatal vits from Nov/Dec anyway so figured I should start taking them now so that I use them up! 151 days until I am 'safe' to TTC!!

OP posts:
nannyl · 25/07/2010 20:56

me and OH have just been to the supermarket and bought some sanatogen pre natal and zinc

although i will be taking just folic acid in aug and sept and wont need pg vits until oct / nov /dec (ready for pregnacare (/ wellman) conception in Jan, when we actually start TTC )

bebejones · 25/07/2010 15:44

Pipoca - Oh dear but welcome back! All still up in the air here, but feeling ok & starting to feel more positive!

Alien - What OV thing did you get? I have no experience at all with such things so have nothing helpful to suggest I'm afraid!

DH & I haven't had 'the talk' this weekend. Things are bad financially/business wise this month & I think we are both putting it off until we are in a better frame of mind!

OP posts:
alien06 · 24/07/2010 16:48

hey everyone . bought one of the ovulation thingies, but had a no-no on first result, saying that I have only had one ERTD so guess it'll be best to leave using them a while to see if I become regular? any ideas peeps?

pipoca · 24/07/2010 15:56

Ladies...I'm back.

Had a little freak out and decided it was too early. Too much shit going on IRL to throw a pregnancy into the mix, so going to chill out and enjoy the summer and see how I feel in Sep/Oct. Condoms are back out of the drawer and going to try to stay away from conception threads...

Still on the folic acid tho.

How have you all been? How you feeling bebe and how's Amanda's recalcitrant DH?

bebejones · 24/07/2010 09:50

Logged in to my facebook this morning & every single ad down the side of the screen was for products/services for pregnant women or women trying to get pregnant! Are they trying to taunt me?!?!

Had a very bizarre dream last night of being fully clothed & very pregnant in a shower. Stupid hormones must be in overdrive!

Hope everyone has lovely plans for the weekend. We are going to a BBQ today so must be very good & not stuff myself with too much!

bebejones · 23/07/2010 22:32

Having time to think can be dangerous! When we were 'trying' for DD we were only supposed to be NPP and seeing what happened (thinking it was going to take ages). I did get a bit obsessed about jumping DH at every given oppurtunity! This time round I wasnt it even more, and have been waiting even longer. Plus having time to TTC is even more limited. So I just know I'm going to be even worse this time round, have been plotting for too long!

OP posts:
alien06 · 23/07/2010 22:24

Yep, well I think I am already a TTC nut job lol, doesnt help that I am on Summer holidays now so tooo much time to think about stuff!

bebejones · 23/07/2010 22:16

Mermummy - that does make logical sense, but hormones just aren't logical are they

Alien - know what you mean about wanting it to still be fun. Trouble is when we come to it I know I'll be a complete TTC nut job a bit OTT!

Done my jab & worked out I'm down to single figures now...9 jabs/weeks left! Said this to DH & he didn't seem fazed by it. So maybe things will go according to plan It's very hard to read him on this though. Fingers crossed I shall have my way, woo-ha-ha-ha!

OP posts:
mermummy · 23/07/2010 20:08

Hey and thanks for the welcome.

My situation is that due to being a teacher if I TTC now and manage it in the next few months then I will give birth around June/ July at which point schools are out for the long break and 6 weeks of ML is a time when I could be on full pay. IYSWIM

If I hang onto until Jan 2011 then I can have the summer as a welcome rest in late pregnancy on full pay and then go in and float around for a couple of weeks and then have my 9 months off without touching the summer hols.

Also DH very keen for DD1 to stay on at childminders even if only for a day or two a week to keep her routine going and her place open for when I go back. All makes sense if only someone would explain this to my hormones.

So looks like I' m here for the long haul.Minipe I wish someone would develop a way of communicating sense to our hormones or at the very least give our DHs a good dose of them.

alien06 · 23/07/2010 19:25

Yep bebejones that's what I am going to have to do ;) I am trying not to only BD for TTC though as don't want it to be like that for us. DH is so relaxed about the whole thing which I find weird as I am really wanting it to happen like now! hopefully I can chillax on holiday!
oh and it is probably not helping that I am eating everything in sight

bebejones · 23/07/2010 18:14

X-posts!

Biscuits nice to 'see' you!

Quod - How exciting for you career wise! No advice on pills, been off mine for years now & condoms don't bother me...or DH for that matter! Might make it tricky for you if you had an accident & you don't want to be PG at the same time as your big career event!

OP posts:
bebejones · 23/07/2010 18:09

I like the idea of making it TTC & waiting!

I feel your pain about not being awake/in bed at same time as your DH. Mine gets up for work at 6 and leaves the house before 7....too early for me. Then most nights he does work at home late at night & I end up going to bed alone! Think I'll have to adjust to getting up & doing the naughty first thing in the morning!

Quodlibet · 23/07/2010 18:06

Hello all
Firstly, AC you've totally nailed it with your 'being hit by the hormone truck' comment.

I'm definitely on the long train too - spring 2011 at the very very earliest for me.

My/our reasons for waiting are work-related; basically DP will have a very busy, very big, very high stakes and very long-anticipated career event early next year if all goes well, and I think I've come round to his thinking that TTC at the same time would drive one or both of us stark raving mad.

However, I've got one more pack of pills left atm and am considering not getting any more from in order to let the machinery crank itself up...Thoughts? Will I just drive myself bonkers thinking about TTC without the 'safety net'?! Has anyone else here done it?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 23/07/2010 18:06

I've just snuck back in because everyone actually TTC seems to be off TTC this fine friday evening.

Am a little alarmed that JSFN has only just learnt about BD and wants 2010's to teach her . Is it time we sat you down to have the talk?

I'm off the plonk (why did I say I wouldn't drink plonk all July?) so am handing over the vodka bottle for someone else to enjoy.

JustShaggingForNow · 23/07/2010 16:14

Ahhhh - so BD is how you get pregnant........!! Now I just need to work on DH's hours so we actually have time in bed (or anywhere else ) awake together!!!
