Florin ditto all you said! I'm hopping on to the other thread now, but will still pop back in now and then for chat

frakkinaround · 23/02/2010 12:30

HERE!

Oooh I feel all broody now I started my first conception thread.

Florin · 23/02/2010 12:28

Definitely sounds good to me. It's scare me all the things people are doing. I feel like u need to get a degree in it before even attempting ttc. I plan on throwing out the condoms and getting down to it a lot! Is it that people on the conception thread are on there as they aren't getting straight away so using it as a support (which I can completly understand) and people who do get pregnant straight away don't bother with them. It's just from Reading them all starting to think when we do start it will take months or years to get pregnant! Anyone know what the average time it takes?

frakkinaround · 23/02/2010 12:21

EWVM is apparently egg white clear mucus (huh?) and LMP is last menstrual period. I have no idea....

Come find me!

tanmu82 · 23/02/2010 09:36

Sounds good to me, just tell me what EWCM and LMP mean and I'm on it

frakkinaround · 23/02/2010 08:56

tammu I'm considering starting a "EWCM, AF, LMP, WTF?! I'm just not using contraception thread"

Anyone up for joining me on that in a bit?

vix77 · 23/02/2010 07:57

Welcome Vix!

Hi everyone, im a newbie to mumsnet, hope its ok to message this board. im mum to sophie, DD1 who is nearly 5 years old. I have always said I dont want any more DC however i have changed my mind over the last few weeks!!...i have no idea what has changed but something has. I broached the subject with DH (OVER THE PHONE...as he works away in the merchant navy!!) once he got over the shock and surprise i think he is keen... only thing is we will have to wait as i have phenlyketunoria (PKU) and need to go on a very low prten diet before i concieve. My body vasically can not break down high levels of protein found in foods such as eggs/milk/fish etc !!these high levels of protein could affect the babys development, especially in the first few months!!! ...so i guess i will be on here for a good few months waiting to TTC !!! It will be hard as i am sooo impatient..and once i make up my mind i like to just get on with things. I hope everyone is well, and look forward to speaking to you all soon , thanks for reading , vickey xx

tanmu82 · 22/02/2010 19:52

well, I thought I would be able to handle it. Then got scared when I realised we'd done the deed, then got disappointed as I think I may not actually be pg, now I have made a discreet note in my diary of my fertile dates for next few months.... I run the risk of getting a bit obsessed, but I am going to enjoy being in denial a little bit longer

pipoca · 22/02/2010 19:14

I know what you mean tanmu but knowing me I'd be up the duff straight away and then would worry about it being too soon...all my reasons to wait. Also, I know myself, if we stop using contraception I'll get obsessed and basically start ttc anyway cos I'll be excited. I'm not relaxed enough to just not prevent. I'm either ttc or not.
I think I need to stop thinking it all out so much and just wait until April7may and then accept that we are ttcing from then.

tanmu82 · 22/02/2010 18:34

pipoca those were my thoughts exactly, which is when we decided we'd just come off the pill and see what happens. So now we are neither TTC nor not TTC....we are just not preventing so I don't know is this means I no longer qualify for this thread....is there a 'not preventing' thread I wonder

pipoca · 22/02/2010 15:07

Hi everyone!

Funny that, tanmu82 how doing a test can help you sort out to really go for it or decide to wait. I'm really struggling with broodiness. Sometimes i really feel I'd love to just go for it, and I am SURROUNDED by pregnant women and babies. Went to a birthday do at the weekend and the hostess had a 6 month old and there were 3 other under two's and 6!!!! pregnant women. So, a lot of talk about pregnancy, babies, bfing etc. And yet, and yet.....then when I actually think about the reality, there are sooo many reasons to wait a bit. I swing from thinking, wait til July or August before trying and thinking that it'll take ages (not a lot of time for shagging in the Macaco/Pipoca house!) so we might as well stop using contraception after Easter. But knowing me, if we do that I'd fall straight away and things would be a lot easier if we waited that little bit longer.
Aaargh.

tanmu82 · 22/02/2010 14:47

I used a strip test that I got off Amazon - a bulk of 15 for a couple of quid. They said they are for early detection.... today my abdomen is really hurting - like I've done loads of sit-ups but don't recall doing anything particularly strenuous over last couple of days. Doesn't feel like usual period pains or anything.

Funny though that getting the neg result has cleared up my confusion...I was actually really disappointed! Even though it would mean a winter baby.... I have only just started tracking my periods, so not sure exactly how long my cycle is, just went with avergae of 28 days. That means AF should be visiting anytime from tomorrow onwards...we shall see!

Florin · 22/02/2010 14:32

U might just be to early tanmu82. What pregnancy test were u using?

tanmu82 · 21/02/2010 22:05

I just did a test and it was negative. I'm not due AF until mid next week so not sure if it is too early or just a plain neg. I feel so nauseous and tired though - I hate my body playing tricks on me :-(

Florin · 21/02/2010 21:42

I think it would be too early to be pregnant as I was only on day 8 of my cycle. But I reckon it will be really hard not to test as I will always be hoping. I so want to be pregnant now but financially dh thinks we should wait a little longer. i personally think we will be fine.
Bebejones know how you feel, I feel so broody which wasn't helped by having my super cute 2 year old godaughter staying for the weekend.

bebejones · 21/02/2010 19:37

Feeling broddier than ever! Got to see my school friends gorgeous month old twins & another school friends 4month old at school reunion! All SO cute!!

Florin - will you be testing?!?!

OP posts:
Verso · 21/02/2010 18:16

Ooh florin, looks like you might have pre-empted things there. How tempted will you be to test in two weeks' time?!

tanmu when I saw your "congratulations" I had to pinch myself and remind myself I'm not actually pregnant yet (and if you have tests in the house, and you think there's a chance you could be pg - test, girl, test!!!)

Florin · 20/02/2010 20:26

Looks like loads of us will be trying in the summer! Although had rather a lot of wine with hubbie last night and ended up not using the condoms last night and tomorrow is the start of my fertile period opps!

pipoca · 20/02/2010 09:35

Sorry, I forgot to say..it's Macaco here with a new name.

Kayzr · 19/02/2010 12:38

Glistening, I am charting crazy too. I didn't chart at all with the boys. But I think it's really interesting.

GlisteningSnow · 19/02/2010 12:30

Hi there, can I come sit in the waiting room with you ladies? I've got one DS, another Dec08 baby like a few of you have, and have just decided with DH to start ttc in July/August. Of course I've gone charting crazy already (unhealthy obsession anybody?) and need somewhere to vent lest I scare DH off altogether
