Shiney new thread before we drop off the end of the last one!

Hi bebe thanks for the welcome.

Well, I'm still bleeding from the second part of my MC.

Basically I found out on 28th April that I was pregnant, bled from 29th (and they said it was miscarriage) but my HCG still rose slowly (24, 64, 55,75, 77, 118, 151,170 then last week 182 then beginning of ths week 170 and today 100)

I started bleeding last Thursday (the 182 reading was last thursday) and have been bleeding ever since, they were decided upon giving me methotrexate, even though I had a clear scan, and I fought them off (yesterday) as it had gone from 182 to 170 - which was the first drop in weeks, and so today I basically have such a significant drop that I am confident that it's going to be that this bleed is the final part of the MC of retained products

All very confusing I know!

So.. whenever I stop bleeding, I will start monitoring my cycle again and then TTC

Well done you for losing all that weight! I know how very hard that can be from personal experience, it took me a good year to lose 2 stone a while back, it was such a struggle!

Was your Godmother blessed with natural conception, or was she assisted? I know a few people who have conceived naturally even into their mid forties, so I'm hoping I'll be luckier with a sticky bean next time!

bebejones · 26/05/2010 16:23

Welcome Hairytriangle! So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Will you be waiting with us long before you TTC again? My Godmother was 42 when she had her DD (first and only child) makes me cross for you that people would assume you put your career first! I am doing all the 'right things' health/body wise for me until TTC. Have lost 3.5stone so far this year & deermined I will have a healthy BMI next time round!

Snails - meds are going fine thanks! I am really lucky that I have very little in the way of side effects from them (feel a bit lightheaded but do it before bed so feel fine in the morning). Am counting down the weeks til I stop though! Then it's TTC countdown time!

woop! Pregnancy hormone down to 100 At long last!!!

hairytriangle · 26/05/2010 14:59

Hi snailshavehorns yes, first try came off pill in October, am 42 (and just to clear it up and get it out there, it wasn't a career choice, it was a relationship that was doomed and my ex didn't want children - should have gotten out of it sooner, but didn't). I hate it when the media just cites women who wait as 'sacrificing children for their careers' this couldn't be further from the truth for me and I feel very judged when people make that assumption.

As this is my first ever try I'm absolutely thrilled I could conceive within 5 months of trying, so I'm trying to see the whole thing as positive, even though this little bean was not sticky.

Since my miscarriage, I'm being super positive - eating organic healthy food as much as poss, taking Zeta West supplements, not drinking, and taking good care of myself.

I've had blood tests for fertility (in around January) and I was told that all the results (day 4 and day 21) showed I am ovulating and fertile, and dr said that if a 22 year old came in with those results, it would be good!

my OH has had a healthy sperm test, so we are really positive that this can happen I'm just frustrated that we have to wait a little bit more.

snailshavehorns · 26/05/2010 14:33

Welcome hairytriangle, what a brilliant name. I'm still pondering a name change myself! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Are you trying for a first baby? Had you been trying long?
I'm still feeling dithery as the date we said we could ttc from fast approaches. Sometimes things just seem insurmountable. DH is in work again but it's likely to be a fairly short term contract and then unemployment beckons (things are baaaad in economic terms here in Spain). That makes me the breadwinner again, with a new fledging freelance business as our income. Makes me feel quite concerned about whether ttc is madness.
Also my mum is waiting for an operation and I just know it'll come through on any due date I end up with.
But then again, even if I got pregnant straightaway it'd be over a 3 yr gap and I don't want to wait forever (35 next week). And other times I feel sooooooooo sooooooo soooo broody.
How are you doing on the meds bebe?

hairytriangle · 26/05/2010 13:24

Hello, may I join?

I miscarried very early (max five weeks pregnant) on April 29th (bled for three days) and had low rising HCG ever since (peaking at 182 last week), then bled again on 20th May and have been bleeding heavily ever since then.

I think (and hope!) my HCG is now going down, I've avoided Methotrexate until they know what is happening with my HCG (blood results due at about 3.30 today) as I wasn't happy to take it as it delays further conception for three months and I'm hoping this bleed is my body finally getting rid of whatever is left.

I'm gutted that I have to wait to TTC (due to heavy bleeding - and I need to ovulate after bleed to stand a chance, obviously) so thought it would be nice to join you all for mutual support, moaning, etc etc!!! LOL

AmandaCooper · 25/05/2010 23:39

Very exciting indeed, and not selfish at all, it's just the morale boost this thread needs.

Understand the fear about being unmasked in RL - am paranoid that work could find out I've been on here and don't dare log on from my work PC.

Good news from me: we've got a flat, we move on 5 June. It's not ground floor, but I really like it, and we're very pleased and excited about the move. A bit sad to move out of our first home though.

snailshavehorns · 25/05/2010 08:46

very esxciting Alba !

bebejones · 25/05/2010 07:50

Alba - How exciting!! Good Luck SWIing!!!!

OP posts:
SaorAlba · 25/05/2010 07:29

Selfish post, sorry folks. Took last pill on Sunday night. A month of condoms now then it'll finally be time to SWI. Wow.

bebejones · 24/05/2010 22:00

I worry about DD getting too used to being an only child then suddenly having to spoe with another baby in her little world. But also worry that maybe it would be best to wait until she is older so that she has other things to occupy her (school, friends etc) and I can spend quality time one on one with a newborn. You are right about there never being a 'right time'! Completely a swings and roundabouts situation. I suffered really badly with ms last time too & it would be awful with a toddler to deal with too. But an even bigger worry is how I will be after the birth, as my MS can flare up & I could really struggle & get quite ill! Just never know what's going to happen, & I hate not being able to plan!

OP posts:
snailshavehorns · 24/05/2010 21:42

yes, bebe I get that when I see people's newborns, and then I get jittery about how we'd cope with 2, what would happen to my business (self employed) how I'll manage if I get bad MS again...all that stuff. But then, that will be true if I wait and I don't want an only child. I guess there's never a "right" time is there?

from August will be right ish in that DS will go to nursery from sept, but it does all worry me a bit.

bebejones · 24/05/2010 21:08

Spent the afternoon at soft play with DD & some friends, (with an 7month old & a 4 week old) SO broody now....I want one! Little one was just adorable and so tiny!

Snails - Know what you mean about the dithering, sometimes I love just being me & DD & think how much I'd miss that. But on the other hand.....I want another one coz she is so damned cute!!

OP posts:
snailshavehorns · 24/05/2010 20:40

Just playing with a new name as I get twitchy about people in RL working out who I am and reading my innermost thoughts. Will probably change again to something fluffier.

The closer TTC becomes the more the things that have been stopping me seem like something to worry about. feeling broody but simultaneously dithery today...green but red all at the same time.
Ho hum.

AmandaCooper · 21/05/2010 20:58

Ew that doesn't sound nice, poor you. Weird when people name change, but I daresay I shall get used to it! Are you feeling better from the cold at least? Sound like you've had a rough time, what with that and the house.

You're always welcome on the ditherers thread. I was worried it would make me dither, but today I want to get cracking!

snailshavehorns · 21/05/2010 19:12

Hi, Pipoca here with a new name.

The room sounds lovely Bebe. I have been kind of busy AC but also had a horrible, horrible cold that has gone on forever and now have 2 whopping great coldsores...feel like my entire upper lip has suffered third degree burns. Urgh.

Not long to go now til when we said we'd NPP and I'm getting a bit nervous about actually taking the plunge. Just seems a lot to deal with at the moment, family stuff, finances etc. Wonder how I'd cope. Maybe I should be on the ditherers thread!

House sale came to nothing....

AmandaCooper · 21/05/2010 17:50

That does sound lovely, it is less like hard work when you're being creative instead of just painting everything magnolia. I know what you mean about not too girly, my friend's little girl wanted everything in her room vibrant pink for a few years to her mum's horror and disgust!

Not made much progress on the flat, which means that homelessness is imminent! We're seeing a couple more tomorrow, so fingers crossed. There's quite a good one imo, but DH says he doesn't like the view. It's got everything else we want though (except it's not on the ground floor, but we will probably move again anyway).

Things are very quiet on this thread, I don't know whether people are just too busy (a correlation between having to wait to TTC and being busy does sound likely!) or what it is. Maybe we need some controversy, or to start a row!

bebejones · 19/05/2010 11:23

Oh yes, Pipoca, how's the house sale going?

AC - How is your flat hunt going?

For DD's 'new' room I'm planning on painting the chimney breast a bright deep pink then pale cream on three walls & a sort of pea green on another wall. White woodwork & fireplace. It sounds odd, but will look nice in the room, it has very high ceilings and is very light. It has to be girly but not twee (she isn't a twee sort of girl) and it needs to go with her stuff IYSWIM. I have a canvas I painted a while ago that I think will work really well in there, it's a wildflower meadow but sort of impressionistic! She loves butterflies, so that will probably feature in there too! Think I'm nesting without actually being pregnant! Getting her in the bigger room will open up the nursery for re-decoration! I love a project!!

Trying to put things with SIL out of my head (she is only 2 years older than me) everyone is trying to stay positive as docs have said the heartbeat is very strong. Fingers crossed everything is ok.

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 19/05/2010 08:55

At least there's still a chance then? Imagine having that thrown at you when you're seven months gone, I really hope everything is ok. It puts all our worries about who has the first child and who has the last child into perspective, I think I shall shelve that issue.

How are you thinking of doing DD's room? That's a fun project for you - and when that's finished, well, you may as well move on and do the nursery!

Any news on the house sale Pipoca?

bebejones · 18/05/2010 09:29

Ooops meant 8 months! (Brain is too full of cold & gunk today!! )

OP posts:
bebejones · 18/05/2010 09:27

SIL has decided to have the baby regardless & to just deal with whatever happens when it happens. To make matters worse her DH has just taken a job a long way away so she is stuck at home most of the time on her own. Really is a waiting game as I don't think anything obvious has shown up on tests they have done.

DH laughed at me buying paint samples, said it wasn't needed for a while. Isaid I wanted to move DD at Xmas time & he just laughed and said 'can't we just have a few months of stability before making any big changes?' I said 'No'...he smiled! It was all very light hearted so am taking it as a positive!

AC - shame about the flat. Hope something else 'suitable' turns up soon. It has all gone very quiet lately. I saw in the Conception section that the Feb 'bus' is just starting. Felt a bit ...wanted to be on that bus! Oh well, 6 months til October bus...that's the one for me! (I hope)

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 18/05/2010 08:36

Oh no Bebe that's awful news about your sister. Will they be able to get a more definite picture of what's going on, or is it really just wait and see? She must be just beside herself.

On your happier note so you're moving into Stage 2 of the Have Another Baby plan! AND Mr Bebe's on board too - that's wonderful!

We're desperately looking for our next flat having given notice on this one - we have to be out by 5 June and there's not much around at the moment. Very nearly got a ground floor flat, which would have been very exciting from my TTC point of view, but some bugger beat us to it.

So what are we going to do about the lack of other waiters?! Perhaps nobody else is waiting... Or maybe it's time to start dragging people in off the streets?

bebejones · 17/05/2010 14:07

Been so very quiet on here lately!

I've had a busy week away at my mums & am very glad to be home.

Had some sad news over the weekend. SIL has found out that her baby (she is due in July) may possibly be brain damaged. They aren't quite sure what is happening, but baby hasn't moved at all in 2 weeks but still has a heart beat. It's head size is above the normal range expected & she is carrying alot of fluid. It is a waiting game now to see what will happen with more tests. It is so very very sad.

On a happier note, have just been and bought paint samples for DD's bigger room. Need to start getting things sorted. Left my BFing pillow at my mums, DD still sits on it (for comfort we think) when she has her beaker of milk before bed. So said to DH I should get another one, as we will need it for another baby anyway & it would be useful to have one here & one at my mums. He agreed that it was a good idea!

Hope everyone is well & had a good weekend!

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 14/05/2010 16:05

Sorry everyone it's been very quiet on here recently and I've not been on MN at all. I've had so much going on: my sister's hen do to organise (just on the train on my way there now), a presentation I gave yesterday at a local school, a seminar at work, looking for a new flat and applying for a new job and running my brownie unit. It's been intense, and I don't have a clue how I'd manage if I had LO so I'm trying not to imagine lol.

Really looking forward to this weekend - and then less than a month to the wedding. It's so exciting and I'm so pleased for her. Sis is marrying the boy she hooked up with in the park when she was 13!

How's everyone - how have your weeks been? Bebe how are you coping with the meds? Hope you're ok.

My secretary's waddled off on her maternity leave today grinning from ear to ear and glowing with health. Am a bit envious.

pipoca · 12/05/2010 09:00

bumping cos we're way down on page 2!
