Welcome Strawberrypie! How exciting someone else (possibly) TTC at the same time! :o I have no advice about the pill but sure someone else will!

Well I'm feeling all Confused, said to DH that I'll need to talk to my GP about all the supplements I'm taking before we TTC. He said we will talk about it after DDs birthday! Now I'm all worried he is going to want to delay again. Getting such mixed responses from him all the time :( Going to stick to my guns this time though...or at least try to!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to MN and have been lurking for a few days! I hope you don't mind me joining in with your thread?

The plan (ha!) at the moment is to come off the pill at the start of October, use other contraception and take folic acid etc for 3 months then start TTC in Jan when back from hols! (Hello nannyl and bebejones- I think I'm possibly going to be TCC around the same time as you two )

Does anyone have any experience of how long it usually takes for cycles to get back to normal after taking cerazette (progesterone only) pill for years?

Thank youuuuuuu!

nannyl · 05/08/2010 16:31

i too would love a massage

JS on your scale im about a number 6 / 7, but really think its probably not a great idea.

whywait I literally have EVERY conception / pregnancy book avaliable from the library at the moment, (except for the ones i have bought fro myself on ebay!)

(oh and went past my bargain charity shop again and sure enough there is another IMMACULATE mother care own travel system for £5...)

JustShaggingForNow · 05/08/2010 16:01

also very of massage whywait I was going to book one whilst DH is on the golf course on Saturday but now thinking that it's a little indulgent for someone who is suppposed to be being careful with her money......

bebejones · 05/08/2010 15:51

Whywait - Have a lovely weekend! of massage, could really do with one too!

I am planning a jungle themed nursery next time around too! DDs is currently pale green with pink bits (change mat, blind & her name on the wall) & a few butterflies, girly but not super twee IYSWIM? We painted it green before we knew what we were having coz the sahde we chose went with pink & blue, idea being we could accesorise later! I love decorating & can't wait to re-decorate the nursery & also decorate the room DD will move into...already bought paint samples for that!

JS - I'd say prob an 8/9 to plan an accident...snap out of it woman!!

Hahahaa! I know Minipie - I'm never going to actually do it but sometimes it is so damn tempting!!!!I think I will just continue trying to wear him down until he gives in and agrees with me talk him into it!

It's funny when you think about it isn't it.... My body is the one that will go through the actual pregnancy but he is the one determining when we do it. I did explain that by waiting we are doing what he wants and not what I want. If we looked at it and tried to compromise fully then surely we would be trying at xmas 2010?!?!!? Nedless to say.... that didn't go down well!!!

minipie · 05/08/2010 15:23

oooh a deep tissue back massage WhyWait

I neeeeed one of those.

have a lovely weekend!

minipie · 05/08/2010 15:21

Um, I'm about a 9 on that scale I'm afraid JS.

I mean if you're having lots of chats about TTC in March 2011, and he knows you're super keen, and you get pg now, he's not really going to believe it was an "accident" is he?

and you wouldn't want him going "well I never wanted a baby this early anyway" while you're trying to deal with the sleepless nights. Or thinking he could ignore things you'd agreed as a couple in future, because you ignored your TTC agreement.

sorry, not what you want to hear!

However I am all for you continuing to
twist DH's arm behind his back lean on your DH until he agrees.

Oh girls - this is all so damn exciting (although my enthusiasm and excitement may have been slightly assisted by the 3 glasses of wine at lunch!!)

I also "worked out" when I would have been due had AF not arrived last weekend and it would have been an April baby (which btw would have been my dream!!!) I really want to have a spring baby and so have been chatting to (read as leaning on) DH about this. On a scale of 1-10 how wrong would it be for me to "accidentally" get PG....... (1 being "do it, it's absolutely fine" and 10 being "are you fricking insane woman, put down the wine and grow up!!!you clearly have no morals ")

bebejones · 05/08/2010 14:21

Glad it's not just me that worked it out!

Pushchair for a fiver! Where is this marvellous shop?!

Have been virtual baby shopping added loads of things to my mothercare wishlist! Just upgrading what we already have...or at least planning to! Want NEED a new travel system & need new mobile (gave ours away) and want a baby swing this time round!

OP posts:
nannyl · 05/08/2010 13:38

yup 3 books for 70p

yes i too have sat and worked that out

im just hoping they get a mountian buggy in and sell it for a fiver (they get loads of lovely pushchairs / travel systems) and they are always £5

bebejones · 05/08/2010 13:21

70p for 3 books, sorry, even more of a bargain!

OP posts:
bebejones · 05/08/2010 13:20

I love AK! Not a big GF fan, although we started on her potty training & had some success but DD has regressed a bit & we are leaving it til after her birthday now! 70p for both books is a bargain!

I'm thinking I will most likely be on October bus too. Will try for Sept but think I might have missed the boat bus by the time I am 'allowed' to SWI! An AF starting anytime after Xmas day will mean I am on the October bus...yes I am that sad that I sat & worked it out!

OP posts:
nannyl · 05/08/2010 13:12

i wont abandon you all
(and i hope to be on an October 2011 bus)

am very excited as i have just got annabell karmells 1st year planner,
gina fords first year planner and the new gina ford contented baby book, all immaculate condition for a grand total of 70p from my bargain charity shop at the bottom of my road (where almost nothing costs more than 50p!)

i have read all these books a million times before as my bosses etc have had them in their collection, but not actually got a copy for myself.
also i have the original gina ford contented baby but have leant it out and cant remember who too!

so i have some afternoon reading refreshing to do now,

im so over the moon to have got the lost for just 70p!!!!!
(personally i swear by GF and AK!!!!)

bebejones · 05/08/2010 13:01

speed bumps... brain faster than fingers agin!

OP posts:
bebejones · 05/08/2010 13:00

Ooh I like that, that shall be my mantra, 'No more spped bumps, just baby bumps'

I went to the Spa for my hen do! Had a fab time! Would love to go again. Am also very fond of the costume museum & spent some time actually researching things & looking close up (handling) garments when I was at Uni.

DDs birthday is Monday & party is Sunday, been busy doing all the rushing around shopping/organising this week! SO excited! Even though she hasn't got much of a clue what's going on, she is sort of aware what birthday's are & knows that she is having a party.

March isn't that far off for you to TTC, less than a year! I've been waiting since last Dec and a year off seemed so far & it has gone really quickly!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 05/08/2010 12:22

Oh no - your poor DH. I can kind of understand why he's not so fond of Bath. Shame for you though as the shopping is amazing and the spa is wonderful!!!

Is it your DD's BDay today?? Big happy birthday to her! Also great news that the last injection is on the 24th Sept - that's really not far away at all!!! I do;t want to see any more speed bumps, just baby bumps - [super excited emoticon]!!!

bebejones · 05/08/2010 12:13

Its sort of complicated to explain. But he is a Bristol fan & there is a rivalry there that isn't just rugby based. But when he was younger he was about to sign for Bath to play rugby but had a big car accident & buggered his knee up & they dropped him quicker than anything even though it was rehab-able! (couldn't think of the right word!) He is still quite bitter about it and not playing rugby was the root cause of his depression & subsequent weight gain Quite sad really as apparently he was very good & could have been quite something. This was all long before we met we he was 16/17.

But that is way off topic....back to babies and procreation!

So excited to get to DDs birthday, feels like another milestone on the road to TTC. Next milestone is last injection on Sept 24th! Just hoping we don't hit anymore speed bumps! Don't worry JS I shall pop back and annoy update you all!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 05/08/2010 12:01

He hates Bath because of Rugby?!?!?! Did they beat his team??

DH and I are pretty into our rugby and are now both (although DH does still insist on supporting Wasps on the odd occasion) Bath fans!

We are super lucky to live there and I can't wait to escape London permanently and make our home there full time!!!

nannyl TTC #1 - Jan 2011 (but start TTC after xmas)
bebejones TTC #2 Jan 2011 (but technically starting TTC after 24th Dec 2010!
JustShagging TTC #1 - March 2011
minipie TTC #1 May 2011

Does that mean that we could soon be seing a few of you in the September 2011 babies boards!?!?! Promise you won't desert us for the busses though as I am a bit of a sad act and love hearing about people getting PG!!!

bebejones · 05/08/2010 11:44

bebejones TTC #2 Jan 2011 (but technically starting TTC after 24th Dec 2010! So will be on same bus as you nannyl!)

Quod - so sorry about your Grandma I'm sure you will work all the TTC dilemas out at some point, it does all seem very tricky.

Squirrel October...how exciting!!

Minipie - fingers crossed that your friends news spurs your DH on a bit!

JS - good luck with the job hunting! I love Bath, would go more often but DH hates it...it's a rugby thing apparently

OP posts:
minipie · 05/08/2010 10:29

minipie TTC #1 May 2011

(well hopefully, still a little DH arm twisting to do)

squirrel we'll probably do kruger plus diving in mozambique - can't wait! botswana sounds amaaazing, good luck with the wedding planning!

quod I know what you mean about children/career timing - we'll be starting a family (assuming all goes to plan) at about the same time that me and DH are both gearing up for big promotions, so not ideal - but there is never going to be a perfect time so think we should just bite the bullet and get on with it.

Had an email this morning to say some friends of ours are expecting a baby in January - I am very pleased for them, but also for me because I suspect the more friends of ours have children the more likely DH is to want to get on with it!

nannyl · 05/08/2010 10:15

nannyl TTC #1 - Jan 2011 (but start TTC after xmas)

JustShaggingForNow · 05/08/2010 09:41

oooh - just so I can get my head around it can we have a little recap of when everybody is planning to TTC?

JustShagging TTC #1 - March 2011

JustShaggingForNow · 05/08/2010 09:37

Oh Squirrel - super super exciting on the October TTC front!!! Also very of your Botswana honeymoon - you will have the most amazing time!!!

Quodlibet Don't appologise for wallowing, you really weren't and even if you were, isn;t that the point of these forums? So we can all indulge ourselves and get things that worry us off our chests? So sorry to hear about your grandmother. Amazing how such things have an impact on choices between career and family. It's great to hear that your DH is being so supportive though.

Today is my Friday as DH and I have taken tomorrow off work to go back to Bath and start the job hunting. I'm seeing 4 recruitment agents and he is meeting with a couple of recruitment agents and also some of the directors of two major firms in his industry. Fingers crossed that we will now be on the recruitment agents radar after this!!

I'm feeling very inspired by everybody's healt and fitness kicks. I would jump on the bandwagon and say that I am also cutting out alcohol, junk food, etc etc etc but to be honest I am a bit as my willpower is non existent!!
