Shiney new thread before we drop off the end of the last one!

It is a TTC milestone!! Will sniff some chocolate for you, couldn't possibly eat any after all the ice cream last night!

Nurse told me at my smear yesterday that a woman came in last week for her smear & brought her 3 & a half year old DD with her!! Said the girl kept asking what was going on & wanting to look!!!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 09/07/2010 13:24

No no, Biscuits is trying not to think about it. I must remember to take some ibuprofen before I go out. Dr appt in just over an hour. Only just gotten DS to have a nap and have to get him up again soon so can drop him off with a friend. No way is DS coming to the great unplugging. Ekkk. Can't believe I'm going ahead with it!!

JustShagging, I wish I was still in bed at midday!

NoMoreChocBiscuits is thinking abot changing name to LotsMoreChocBiscuits for the afternoon, but knows if she does will just feel fat and unsexy. Not good for TTC! Please someone eat lots of choc for me this afternoon.

JustShaggingForNow · 09/07/2010 11:55

oooooh Biscuits - very exciting.
She's probably still in bed ;)

bebejones · 09/07/2010 10:41

From what people have said to me girls are trickier babies (please don't quote me) but when they get to toddlers it all evens out a bit. Personally I think it probably depends more on the childs personality, genes & upbringing. DD was very wriggly when I was pregnant & didn't ever do much of the newborn sleeping thing. She didn't cry much, just was always alert & wanting entertaining!

I love the fact she is a bit of a tomboy (I am not very girly, although have my moments) she is happiest at Grandads farm in wellies digging potatoes & also loves spiders and snakes! She pushes boys about twice her age/size & generally takes no prisoners! Feisty, but definately needs a sibling to keep her in check I think!

Biscuits - are you starting TTC today? Or aat least NPP?

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 09/07/2010 10:28

My sister was very much the toyboy in our family. My parents are farmers and had 2 daughters so I am sure that my Dad must haev been a teeny bit dissappointed to start with but she has now taken on a lot of the business and is doing an amazing job!

I am sure all men want sons (something about having a mini-me) but interesting to hear that little boys are much easier than little girls..... at least until they hit puberty!!!

bebejones · 09/07/2010 09:31

Girls are hard work...well my girl is!! All the baby boys I know are so chilled & easy going!

Was really into the gender influencing idea when we started discussing TTC over a year ago!! But now I just want to have a baby, but I know DH would dearly love a DS, think most men do want a boy don't they? We had hoped that DD was going to be a DS, and whilst she is a comlete tomboy she is most definately lacking certain parts & will therefore not be playing rugby...I put my foot down! Only another year til she can start ballet!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 09/07/2010 09:09

I'd also love one of each (and preferably non identical twins!!!) But at the end fo the day I'd be equally happt with either flavour!

I used to think that I really wanted daughters and, whilst it would be lovely, now I just don't care!!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 09/07/2010 09:04

BB think I saw a thread banging about to do with gender influencing when TTC. Maybe you should check it out.

bebejones · 09/07/2010 08:52

Have to justify it somehow!

Glad the sewing went ok!

Can't believe the weekend is here again!! Weeks seem to be going so fast...not that I am complaining!

Anyone else got any crazy gender influencing TTC tricks? I've half heartedly been looking at shettles, but I find it all a bit too 'clinical' , DH was all for it though...think he needs male company! Like I said, I'm not massively bothered if we have a boy or a girl, but if I have to stop at 2 DCs one of each would be nice. (Cliched I know)

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 09/07/2010 08:45

Hurrah -it's Friday!!!!
Sewing went remarkably well last night. DH was pretty shocked to come home and find me up to my ears in sequins but the end result is pretty good. now I just need more Fancy Dress parties to wear it to!!!!

Bebe and Biscuits - I can only imagine how much worse it is being broody when you have a little one around you and no doubt people asking when you are going to give DC a brither or sister!

Bebe - absolutely loving your justification for eating the Haagen Daas!!!

bebejones · 08/07/2010 21:17

Had enough Haagan Daas for everyone! Feeling very stuffed & guilty now!

Going to be trying to influence things towards conceiving a boy (not really that bothered what flavour DC we have but a boy would be nice) and eating dairy is supposed to not be good for conceiving boys so need to scoff all the ice cream I can now! Probably an old wives tale, but can't hurt really, esp if I'm on the supplements & obviously once actually PG would be making sure I had enough calcium!

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/07/2010 19:07

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that BB (the annoying yet so cute thing). DS has decided naked is best.
Scoff some Haagen das for me. I'm weirdly looking forward to a veg filled dinner.

bebejones · 08/07/2010 18:58

Biscuits - I feel your pain! DD has had a day of saying 'No' 'I not want to' & 'stop it mummy'! Aaaaarrrrggghh! And NO nap! Thank God she is in bed now! Just hope she sleeps it is so humid! Isn't it amazing though that they can be so irritating & so cute at the same time?!

Going to do some lovely baby day dreaming this evening whilst scoffing my Haagan Daas...yes I have held out til now! Self restraint or what?!

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/07/2010 18:27

BBJ Lemon Meringue is in my top 10 desserts. Cheese Cake is my fav, but I'm not supposed to have it becasuse of a stupid dairy intolerence. That or Self Saucing Chocolate Fudge Pudding. [visibly salivating face]
I'm great at sewing, but not so much the design side, so prolly can't help you some much with the costume sorry.

I'm absolutely crabbit this afternoon. Went for a walk, which always makes feel me good, except today. Today I went from good mood to bad. DS's constant 'Mum, wot dat?' is not helping! Roll on bed time.

bebejones · 08/07/2010 18:01

Could you not just get a snake & sort of drape it round yourself to cover your modesty? That might minimise your need for sewing? All though depends how busty you are, you might need a big snake!

JustShaggingForNow · 08/07/2010 16:05

Well the theme is "around the world in 80 days" and so I am going as Cleopatra..... just wish that I was a little more creative!!

bebejones · 08/07/2010 15:27

Oooh, what you going as? I love a creative project! Haven't been to a nice ball in ages, last chance I got to wear a nice frock was my wedding day!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 08/07/2010 15:04

Yup but I do get to chat babies with her and learn a lot!!!

Still 90 mins too go - yawn! Got a fancy dress ball in 2 weeks and I have to now make a costume as the one I bought was too tight on the ( o ) ( o ) and bloomin see thought raided the haberdashery last night and so now have to learn to sew........... !!!

bebejones · 08/07/2010 14:38

Biscuits - I love lemon meringue pie, it is absolutely my favourite dessert in the whole world! Very !!

Shagging - That must be very tricky on the broody front being around those collegues every day! I find it really difficult being around PG people just makes me sad for some reason! Odd I know! But I do get to indulge the broodiness by buying cute newborn gifts for all these people I know busy sprogging!!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 08/07/2010 14:06

Ahhh - I bet she is adorable! We have a pregnant girl in the team who starts maternity leave in 3 weeks and another who has just started here part time who has a 9mo little girl.

Makes me very broody indeed but my arsehole of a boss is pretty demanding and so that distracts me a bit. Today he's not in much so i have time to think about it all!

Still holding out on the vending machine but all this talk of lemon meringue pie and haagen daas is getting to me!

x

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/07/2010 13:55

I think I've gained about 3 kgs in the last 2 mins catching up on posts!
Am being uber good on the sugar front now though. Had homemade lemon meriange pie last night as DH was having a special dinner, but am now back on that wagon as a giant thrush infection (sorry about TMI) would not help when we start TTC.

BB my DH takes steriods for a condition and he really feels it when he has to double up. But then he always loses the weight really quickly, so I'm sure you will too xx.

bebejones · 08/07/2010 13:50

Ooooh I do hope so! The nurse did say that all being well the next time I have one will be after another baby! She even said maybe I'll get lucky and get called up for one when I'm PG like I did last time!

Can see how licorice wouldn't cut it, although am partial to a piece or 2 of that aussie soft eating licorice!

Trying to resist the Haagan Daas for as long as possible, but give it an hour before the steroids make my blood sugar crash!

Must be so hard to concentrate at work if all you can think about is TTC?! I'm finding it hard enough being at home, but then I'm around my DD all day & when she is cute she is very very cute

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 08/07/2010 13:31

Oooooh - envious of your chocfest. Trying to resist the vending machine in the office at the moment and snacking on licorice...... not quite hitting the spot though!

Well done for getting through the smear - next time a nurse is looking at your fanjo you'll be PG!!

bebejones · 08/07/2010 13:27

8 months will go quickly...is less thana year, and less than the time you will actually be PG!!

This time last year I was hoping I'd already be pregnant by now! Then DH changed his mind to not trying til June, then he changed it again! He isn't getting away with that this time...we will be TTC in December, I have a massive ticking health clock & need to do this while I still can. Despite this relapse I'm actually the healthiest I have been in a long time! I'm actually very lucky that when I am not in a relapse my day to day health & symptoms are excellent. Which is obviously in my favour!

Smear test done...YUK! Bought a tub of Haagan Daas & some yummy smoothie ice lollies that I love...and some chocolate eclairs which I have shared with DH, that way the calories don't count right?!

OP posts:
JustShaggingForNow · 08/07/2010 11:19
