Thanks digitalgirl! I am supposed to test on Thursday, although I suspect if I'm not pregnant my period will come on in the next few days before I make it to the test date.

I've been feeling quite negative this weekend and all those pregnancy symptoms have now turned into symptoms my period is about to arrive - which could just as easily be imagined!

Crazy - I usually complain that life is running past me way too quickly, and then these 2 weeks are absolutely dragging!

digitalgirl · 06/02/2010 10:18

mm welcome to mumsnet! When are you due to test?the 2ww can drag, but I've been taking each day as it comes. Trying to find a reason to be positive for little things. I think I'm due my period tomorrow as I had severe cramping two weekends ago, which I think was ovulation. I've made it through this week without testing, mainly because I really don't think we've managed to have enough sex this cycle. But I haven't spotted at all this week which I'm taking to mean that at least my luteal phase is a good length. If I don't come on tomorrow then I think I might still wait a couple more days before testing as it's possible I haven't ovulated at all this cycle.

Good luck with your 2ww.

MercenaryMom · 05/02/2010 14:24

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting something, so be kind.

I'm in a similar situation - I've just completed an IVF cycle and am mid-2ww to find out if it was successful (test date 11/02). I think I'm going out of my mind with the waiting! DH works overseas, so I'm dealing with this on my own.

I keep thinking I'm having 'pregnancy symptoms' but it could just as easily be wishful thinking...

I've got a DD from a previous successful IVF treatment, so she helps take my mind off it, but its hard to think about anything else. And I'm worried about how I'll cope if the test turns out to be negative.

Any suggestions for passing the time and retaining my sanity? My rational brain knows its only 2 weeks, but the rest of me is screaming in frustration!!!!

digitalgirl · 05/02/2010 11:41

Yes, this happened to me. Hence I don't use ov sticks anymore. I think you can get the surge but no egg. So you're body tries again at a later stage. Turned out for me on that particular cycle that my body tried again two weeks later. So af turned up 4 weeks after a positive opk.

Sort of happened again this cycle, didn't ov when I was getting all the signs. Ov'ed a week later so am on a 3ww.

One way of absolutely ruling out your not fertile anymore is to check your cervix position. If it's hard and pointy then it's closed for business. If it's soft and round then....keep swi.

Hi everyone! HUGE congratulations to Jennimoo and AutomatedAlice... what totally brilliant news!

So... I tested on the 29th (oh alright on the 27th - I couldn't quite wait!) and BFN... I wasn't too sad as this is only the first month that we've been properly trying. However, now not really sure what's going on now... My OPK showed a definite LH surge result on the 11th so today it's 22-24 days since ovulation and 35 days since last period...

Any Advice or words of wisdom... has this happened to anyone else?

Not sure how I managed to stay away for so long actually - today's my first day back and I'm already addicted!!!

I'd definitely retest MrsTriangle - for peace of mind's sake x

MrsTriangle · 30/01/2010 19:51

Oh and are we really meant to be more fertile for the 3 months after MC? I hadn't heard that. Seeing as I MC'd in Nov and last month, that is very reassuring [grin.

MrsTriangle · 30/01/2010 19:50

Welcome Harry - how on earth did you manage to take a break from MN?????
I can't stay off the thing....

I am really not sure that is was a line - it was so faint and it could have been one of those evaporation line things. Also - it had faded away by the 15 minute time limit that the test specified. Rather suspicious I thought!

I bought some more tests today and as there's been no sign of AF yet (but did have cramps last weekend and again yesterday), I have no idea whether to accept defeat or test again tomorrow. SURELY a line would have popped up by now if I am pregnant?????

Harry2007 · 30/01/2010 19:39

Hello ladies,
I'm back on mumsnet after a break - a long break in fact! Had my ds in jan 2007 and now thinking of trying for another.

Congrats to all who have had BFP's and crossed fingers and baby dust for everyone else x

I'm on my first cycle after coming off the pill so I'm not really sure of my cycle length but I'll go with the 28 day norm until I know for definite. Reading everyone's posts has made me realise how much I've forgotten about this ttc lark! Anyway, I started my last period on the 16th jan so I would assume that I'm either ovulating now or will do in the next few days - unless anyone can advise me differently! All advice will be gladly received

Seriously hoping I'll be one of the lucky ones who'll get a bfp on the first go xxx

digitalgirl · 30/01/2010 14:24

Congrats mrs T hope this one is a sticky one for you.

Am beginning to wonder if I've actually ovulated at all. So much for the first 3 months after a mc being super fertile for me. If I can't conceive this cycle then what are my bloody chances for the next one? And I gave up breastfeeding in the hope that it would help regulate my cycles and I've gone from a 23 day cycle to now what looks like a 35 day cycle, possibly longer. Bit fed up of this.

Possibly because I just got a bfn. Even though I only tested to definitely 'rule out' the early ovulation.

lucielooo · 30/01/2010 12:30

Ohh Mrs T! How exciting! (plus you're giving me hope as I've had a couple of BFN's this week) I predict that you are definitely going to test again, though you know what they say about a line being a line being a line!

MrsTriangle · 30/01/2010 07:11

oh and I started to feel in the 2nd half of my cycle (and pregnant ) from Day 11 onwards.

MrsTriangle · 30/01/2010 07:10

Congratulations AA!

Now - please can you all help me work out what's going on?

Sex on cds 7,9,12,16

Today is cd28.

Before we went out last night, I POAS just to make sure and BFN - wee was very dilute. Have been weeing on the very early pregnancy tests on and off past week too - all BFN.

We're out again tonight so I peed again this morning but wee again very dilute and infact only 6 hours after'd got in to bed and I'd had lots of water.

Now then - reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally faint line. A TTP (a teeny tiny positive).

I now have to go and buy more tests don't I [hmm}

fertilitychallenged · 29/01/2010 18:28

Thanks for all the support, I feel much better today, its great to know that i am not on my own.

Congratulations AA, you have given me hope!!!

digitalgirl · 29/01/2010 17:26

jennimoo · 29/01/2010 17:21

Congratulations AutomatedAlice! fertilitychallenged welcome to MN. Here you will see that many of us do TTC much longer than 6 months and then get a BFP! It's a great place to find support and hope when you need to.

I know it's terrible when everyone around you seems to get pregnant while you TTC. When my SIL conceived (apparently effortlessly) her DC2 I had been trying for about 20 months. We she called I had to hang up the phone, cry, then call her back to congratulate her. I eventually conceived the 25 month!

lucielooo · 29/01/2010 15:05

I knew it!!!!!!

Congratulations AA!

AutomatedAlice · 29/01/2010 13:36

Blimey

AutomatedAlice · 29/01/2010 13:35

Blimey. BFP

lucielooo · 29/01/2010 10:56

Ahh, sorry to hear about BFN decafgirl. I though it sounded promising too

digitalgirl · 28/01/2010 22:08

Hi fc. Welcome to mn! The 2ww does drag, sometimes I find it helps to post on here especially if I'm trying to keep some of my twitchiness away from my husband. Sorry to hear you're feeling really depressed at the moment. It can be very disheartening to keep getting those negative test results and then swiftly followed by your period. Having to buy more tampons when you thought you wouldn't have to buy any for a while. But, as you probably know, it's quite normal for it to take up to a year to concieve - it's just no-one talks about it because by the time their baby is born the heartache of ttc is forgotten.

So anyway I've heard 'crying at soppy films' is a very good pregnancy symptom! You never know, this could be the month for you. Good luck and let us know when you test!

fertilitychallenged · 28/01/2010 21:39

Hi guys,

first post on this site but been ttc for about 6 months.

i hate the 2ww, it seems to go so slowly, was meant to test on 30th, but tested tonight. was negative.

so upset, watched Juno and cried through the whole thing.

i feel that babies is all i think about and i see pregnant women and babies everywhere. i really try not to think about it but it gets to the stage where i struggle to sleep and make notes of the minutest thing my body does just in case it may be a sign.

i am just so depressed at the moment and dont know how to stop this horrible cycle i am in

digitalgirl · 28/01/2010 21:21

decafgirl So sorry for the bfn. I swear these supermarket cheapies are rubbish. And yes, there's still no conclusion with a bfn till your period turns up. Let's hope it doesn't.

lucielooo I think that's a very good plan indeed.

digitalgirl · 28/01/2010 21:13

Sorry af turned up jennyrosity, better luck next time.

automatedalice am pleased to see you back. Test!

No AF for me today and no pre-af symptoms whatsoever. So strange, I was having such bad cramps over Saturday and Sunday. Really didn't think it could have been ovulation at the time as it was so much across the whole womb. Anyway...perhaps it just feels differently post-mc.

Ho hum.
