Hi!
A little about me - I'm pushing 34, have a 10 month old DD that I'm still breastfeeding and really want to conceive no.2 asap!
I am on my second cycle since AF returned and am temp / CM / CP charting using fertility friend and have OPKs!
I ovulated on day 29 of my last cycle, and am on day 21 at the moment.
Have been having fun and games with very fertile signs over the past week, so lots of BD, but no ovulation, poor DH is full of a cold and not feeling very energetic but I keep insisting that he perform until my temps go up

So anyway - hoping that there are others out there in a similar boat who can help to keep me sane and hopefully share some good news in the coming months.

hi lilysma I'd leave the progesterone cream until after your bloods are done - you never know your GP may prescribe you some progesterone if you need some....
I sometimes wonder if self medicating is the right way to go, and if nothing happens in the next couple of months will probably take a trip to my GP (although the fact that he seems to google everything I ever go to him about makes me doubt his innate knowledge, and trust my thorough research a bit more )

Good luck for tomorrow

Ah sbf sorry to hear you got a visit too Best of luck for next month. I always start out intending to do it every other day but always think we should start on CD12 in case I have magically snapped back to a 28 day cycle and run out of energy and patience within a week With DD we managed every night for a week but it was Christmas and we had no work and no children!

Best of luck for tomorrow lilysma and hope you enjoy the acupuncture too.

lilysma · 31/03/2010 21:02

Hi everyone and welcome fannylogan and SES.

SBF glad to hear that the progesterone cream has reduced spotting this cycle. I can't wait to try it but will have to I think until Day 21 when I have my next blood test as I don't want it to alter the results. Does that make sense or should I just go for it and see what the results are with it ?

Anyway, please wish me luck with my HSG tomorrow - I'm a bit nervous about it and hope it won't be too horrible. I'm trying not to think at all about the possible results.

I've also got my first acupuncture appointment in the afternoon tomorrow so lets hope that deals with any stress caused by the morning .

It's all such fun, isn't it

smallblackflowers · 31/03/2010 20:12

Hi!

I'm back from my hols, but unfortunately nothing exciting to report.
Dita we must be in synch - AF arrived for me this morning too, and has been especially heavy and crampy. Mine was a 34 day cycle in the end, with a massive 15 day LP, which I'm guessing is due to the progesterone cream. I did have a little spotting on 9, 10 and 11 DPO, which is an improvement on previous cycles. Will start using it again on 1DPO this cycle and hopefully stop the spotting all together and get pg [wishful thinking emoticon]. On the 2WW till SWI can commence now. Thinking we'll try the every other day strategy this month, as perhaps the every day for a week strategy is using up all of DH's swimmers before they are needed!

Welcome to Fannylogan and SES, and good luck to Ali. We could do with another graduate soon

Am cracking open some wine to commiserate with myself re AF's arrival. Anyone is welcome to a glass

DitaVonCheese · 31/03/2010 19:17

Hi all

to Ali - exciting about your 2WW!

AF arrived this morning. I was feeling fairly positive - "only" a 39 day cycle this month and a reasonable luteal phase of 12 days. Unfortunately some killer cramps have kicked in over the past 90 minutes so I'm now feeling very sorry for myself indeed - time for a cold drink in a hot bath I think. I usually get a bit of cramping but nothing like this bad so I'm hoping that's a good sign

So now I've finished the 2WW for AF to arrive, I get to enjoy the 3WW before I OV again. This isn't boring at all

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 31/03/2010 11:09

Hello everyone

Sorry I've not been around much, bird congratulations on your BPF!

I think I OV'd on CD19, now on CD23. We ended up having SWI on CD20 even though we hadn't planned to try for another 2/3 months, so I suppose I'm on a 2WW - argh!

DitaVonCheese · 29/03/2010 23:42

SES Phewf! Lots of symptoms - but I can generally spot them anything up to a week before OV, so I don't take them very seriously these days

Fanny welcome Wow at the 17 months sans AF. My cycles have been incredibly long since my AF returned (around 45 days at the moment it would seem) so it could be possible yours is round the corner somewhere.

FannyLogan · 29/03/2010 22:16

Hey ladies - can I join in?

DD is 17 months, bfs at night (co-sleeping) and in the day 3 days a week on demand.

No AF yet.

31 and broody!

I thought I might have ovulated last month by EWCM, but no AF (and def not pregnant !).

So I am hoping this time round I might make it over the oestrogen threshold and finally ovulate! (keep thinking of the graph in TCOYF).

It's nice to know I am not alone.....

essenceofSES · 29/03/2010 20:48

No you haven't! x-posted!!
for BFN
Any symptoms though?!

essenceofSES · 29/03/2010 20:46

Hello again and thanks for the welcomes!

Definitely no sign of DS wanting to cut down further over the wkend - the opposite if anything!
I have a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor waiting to be used. I don't think I can use it though until I get my periods back...

Lpsmum - yup! Definitely feel wanted DS turns 11mo in 2 weeks so may start trying him on a small amount of cows milk soon. He already has some with weetabix at nursery and that's been fine. Do you give it via a bottle or a cup?

JetLi - LOL at crafty bonk! Few and far between!

DitaVonChesse - don't know about timings of growth spurts but it sounds like it to me!

DitaVonCheese · 29/03/2010 20:42

CD38, so guess I'm having another 45 dayer. At least it suggests I have a nice long luteal phase. BFN yesterday morning and I'm pretty sure it should have shown up by now if it was going to be a BFP.

I've killed the thread, haven't I?

DitaVonCheese · 27/03/2010 23:11

Hello all and welcome SES My DD just had water when I wasn't there. Tbh I am a terrible mum and almost never give her milk simply because she makes such a mess with it and I can't bear the thought of sour milk everywhere Can't help with cutting down I'm afraid, as DD was on much more than that at the same age (AF returned just before she turned one). Love the acronym GOF btw

On a related note, does anyone know whether there's an 18 month growth spurt? Since we got back from holiday (and on holiday), DD has wanted to feed every minute of the day. She usually wakes up and lies there lazily switching sides every 5-10 minutes for an hour or so while I doze, as well as feeding through the night and as often as I will let her during the day. Before we went away, we were down to one or no feeds during the day. The weird thing is that she's taking more solids than she used to as well. Has she developed hollow legs?

JetLi I am being very reserved re symptom spotting this month. I am also keeping quiet about how many BFNs I have had this week - told you I couldn't wait! I do usually get sore nips before AF shows her scraggy old face, but no sign of her yet. Last night I had a hot bath and drank a bottle of cider while I was in it, so invoking sod's law should make me well and truly up the duff.

Btw, following a thread in AIBU, I just wanted to apologise if I horrified anyone with my mention of DD latching on mid-SWI I was trying not to make my post too long before but just wanted to clarify that she we usually do it elsewhere, she was a very long way away from us when we started, and we stopped as soon as we knew she was awake

JetLi · 27/03/2010 20:40

Evening ladies

2ww here, but not a great deal of shagging has been done I'm afraid. This month may well get written off. 2 friends have announced up-duffed-ness, and I'm really chuffed for them but also a wee bit . Then a 3rd friend has had a miscarriage

Welcome ses As you can see from the above, I have no tips for having a crafty bonk. This month barely qualifies as TTC for us.

Sore nips Dita - I shall not symptom spot....

Right, off for a glass of red & Lewis on the TV

Lpsmum · 27/03/2010 19:31

Well Ses on nursery days he just used to feed first thing, once we got home from nursery and straight before bed (and 2/3 times during the night) and then he made up for it on non-nursery days with up to 5 feeds during the day. He fairly soon got used to just the 3 feeds every day. And no he's never had formula. I did consider expressing milk for him but he was 13 mo so there seemed little point and every reason to push for cows milk. He wasn't interested for a while so stuck to just water. Now he'll drink pints of cows milk given half the chance.
Tis nice to feel wanted though isn't it

essenceofSES · 27/03/2010 18:00

Hello Lpsmum Yes, the waiting game is v frustrating! I was working this morning and then when I got home, DS decided he wanted to feed/doze/cuddle for over an hour! I tried to tell him that he'd never get a brother or sister if he carried on like that but he didn't seem bothered

Can I ask you, when you returned to work, how many feeds did DS have? Did he have any formula when you weren't around or just water? My DS hasn't had any formula and just has water. The one time we did try him with formula (when I was ill) he just pushed the bottle away, even though he's had EBM from a bottle before.

Lpsmum · 26/03/2010 21:47

Welcome Ses. My ds is almost 16 mo and has 1 sometimes 2 b feeds a day. Up until I returned to work when he was 13 mo he was still feeding every 2-3 hrs day and night! My periods then returned at 14 months and now seems to have settled on a 28 day cycle (although I'm not totally convinced I'm actually ov'ing). So other than cutting down on the remaining feeds which I understand you don't want to force, I think it's a waiting game for AF's return
It is frustrating though isn't it . You'll get lots of good advice from the girls here

essenceofSES · 26/03/2010 20:10

Hello!
Hope it's alright if I join you?

I'm currently BF 10.5mo DS and getting sooooo broody. DH and I have agreed that we'll ttc from May and as I've recently turned 37 and would really like 3DC altogether, I need to get a wriggle on with ttc #2!

Two issues:
i) finding the opportunity for a GOF when I'm knackered as now back at work and DS still waking once a night.
ii) periods haven't returned yet!

Lack of periods is frustrating me but DS doesn't seem the least bit interested in cutting down further on BF even though he is doing v well with solids. He currently BF around 6.30am on waking, 7pm at bedtime, usually once in the night around 3am and once during the day (dependant on the hours I'm working).

Does this sound familiar to any of you? Any ideas or suggestions as to what I can do? Tbh, I don't think I can do much as I don't want to stop BF DS all the while he wants it. I'm just really keen to get pg again soon!

Thank you for reading my ramblings!
Ses xx

LittleSilver · 26/03/2010 13:27

So kind of good in a way lpsmum? I know it's depressing when AF turns up, but at least you're not poas in vain! Best wishes for the red diary days!

Lpsmum · 26/03/2010 13:15

I'm out too again this month. AF arrived today CD 28 so am happy at least that my cycle has returned to what it was (jeez it's been 2 years now since I got pregnant with ds...times flies).
Hubby has diarised our swi'ing days for April. That'll be ttc cycle # 3 for us which was the magic number with ds. Note to self: stop making everything around me into lucky omens

DitaVonCheese · 25/03/2010 21:16

Cheers

LittleSilver · 25/03/2010 21:11

Well, at least it means you can have this passes glass of wine to Dita

DitaVonCheese · 25/03/2010 21:03

Still very angry and had a bit of spotting this evening, so guessing that's this month over for me Think I OVed around 15th-18th April (maybe as late as the 20th), which would mean a luteal phase of only 8-11 days at the most if AF arrives tomorrow. Is it time for me to pop open the progesterone cream?

Oh, and my nipples are agony every time DD latches on!

DitaVonCheese · 24/03/2010 23:07

Lol LittleSilver that's made me feel much better about my tendency to over-share

Sorry for the lurking by me - on the 2WW so not much to report, except lunacy, obviously. I have a few random symptoms but also am spotty and full of rage, so I think AF may be on her way. Think I'm about CD33 or so, so that would mean that my cycle has got a bit shorter again, which is good, but would also mean I have a very short luteal phase.

lilysma · 24/03/2010 20:01

heehee, and I thought I was obsessed and constantly giving TMI

LittleSilver · 24/03/2010 19:13
