HAs anyone got pregnant naturally after 2+ years of trying?

Hello,

Coming to the end of our trying naturally stage and before we start clomid (hopefully) I wanted to hear any stories of people who got pregnant naturally after a long time trying.

Anyone?

My friend conceived naturally after 3+ years of trying and two failed IVF attempts. She's 34 he's similar age.

Has anyone been to a clinical psychologist to talk things out? It's been 2.5 years of trying with no 'apparent problems' after countless blood tests, sperm tests and a laparoscopy. We are now on an ivf route, which I'm not sure about and I have recently started to burst into tears with no real trigger, it just happens. My husband is great, but he has a positive we- aren't- the- worst- off- attitude, and I know that..I just can't help feeling this way.

Hey tiredfeet, will you really not get treatment due to age? Only ask as I am 28 and have been going through all the tests with the clinic (next appointment next month) and no one mentioned any age restrictions. We are 20cycles into TTC and thought that it wasn't biased on age - I hope it's not!

am so pleased you like the thread tiredfeet. We've not used contraception since we met two and a half years ago (sounds silly but we knew straight away that we wanted to be together and start a family together) and we've been temping and definitiely doing it at the right times for over 18 months now.

thank you for this thread yellowflowers, after 15months ttc our first I have days when I am giving up hope and everything feels so painful, I feel like a failure, but this thread has reminded me not to give up hope just yet.

We have appointments for our first tests this month, so taking steps finally to find out if there's anything actually wrong, but we're not rolling in cash, and won't get any treatment on the nhs (28 so too young!!!) so I am loving the stories of people getting pregnant naturally after a long time. I think knowing the pain you went through on the way makes me realise what a joy it must be now, to be parents.

its so frustrating, everyone in our family is so fertile, on both sides, everyone has 3 + children, way back through the generations, and my sister-in-law got pregnant pretty much the second they chucked out the condoms

Stopped the depo contraception injection and took 3 years to get pregnant. Had mc.

Was due to start Clomid in Jan (this jan) fell pregnant in September, (trying for about 2 years).
I had stopped charting, symptom checking, we had sex once that month (after months of sex every other day on day blah blah blah)

mc about 5 weeks ago though, but tottaly out of the blue, couldnt believe it, almost no effort involved and bam...bfp (for a short time)

I tried for 14 very very long years, every treatment failed. I got pregnant naturally, total surprise and i'm now a mum to a very loved very precious (probably a little spoiled) 5yr old.
Never give up hope.

We tried two years and one month. We had tests after one year that revealed problems but I couldn't face IVF. So we went to a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor and I got pregnant two months later!
You hear a lot of success stories about accupuncture and TTC, and mine is one of them.

Good luck with IVF. I've heard that accupuncture can help you relax and increase chances of success if you have IVF.

You just need to make your research and find a good TCM doctor that you trust. Check that they're registered with one of the bodies and try and get recommendations. TCM in wrong hands can be dangerous.

Duchesse - snap on timescales!

Yellowflowers - hope it works. However, I had given up hope 1st time. 2nd time certainly wasn't expecting it (sounds silly I know, but had mp after mc 1st time, so things definitely not straight forward).

Yes, twice. First (2006) ended in a miscarriage, second was DD3 (2009). Over six years from ditching contraception, beginning charting and timing etc... to bringing home a live baby. No idea what changed, except that both times I got pregnant was after I started regularly running again.

Hi mistlethrush - yes I've resigned myself to ivf too. Am just waiting for my body to be fooled into thinking I'm not trying any more and then it can get pregnant before the ivf starts!
