Here it is girls - the all new, trying for a spring baby thread. Hope everyone from the Febraury thread can come on over and join us - plus any newcomers too of course!

And to those that don't make it over - CONGRATULATIONS

Oh MandM, so sorry to hear that I really thought there was a good chance for you. Hope you are not feeling too bad. As you say 2 months is nothing, just feels like a long time, when you want it so much.

Well at least this way we can go through the different stages of the next month together. You know how colleagues and groups of (female) friends end up having their periods at the same time. Maybe it is the same for MNers Just need to get the rest of the girls here on track

MandM · 21/07/2005 10:03

Morning

AF is here for definite. She messed around all day but finally reared her ugly head for real late last night.

I thought I was going to be absolutely devastated, and I was disappointed but there's nothing I can do about it, it'll happen eventually. I think with it happening first month, without even thinking too much about it with dd, I was hoping not to have to go through all this. I suppose I shouldn't moan too much though, we've only been trying for 2 months and there are couples out there who have been going through this for much much longer.

Anyway, onwards and upwards for another month

BTW, I worked out last night (when I was trying to cheer myself up) that if I get pg this month, based on having a c-section dead on 38 weeks, my due date would be dd's birthday!

You're right about the pains without the pill as well - I feel like *!@# this morning!

OP posts:
lilaclotus · 21/07/2005 09:57

hi dana, i really sympathize. i had my first pill free period earlier this month. it was about as bad as when i had just given birth.
i said the other day i was about to ovulation and i would be getting ovulation pains. but guess what... they never came. grrr. i've had them every month since i was 12 and when ttc i don't get them!

Dana · 21/07/2005 09:49

'morning girls.
How's everybody today?

I had totally forgotten how much worse my period is when not on the pill. Am in so much pain, I actually feel sick. Feels like someone is trying to rip out my insides (definately TMI!! ) Hope it doesn't last too long.

MandM, did the "bleeding" stop

Dana · 20/07/2005 14:37

Yes, am thinking that DH probably won't object to this new plan of attack

Glad you are feeling a bit better. On one hand TTC-threads on MN can make you slightly more obsessed than you would have been otherwise, but it is also great for support when you are low and it's nice to chat to others who are going through the same things.
Am off to a meeting and then home, so speak to you tommorow - hopefully still minus AF

MandM · 20/07/2005 14:30

So based on your theory, our dhs are in a win:win situation!

Glad you were around this afternoon, I feel a bit better and more positive about this now. Still nipping to the loo every five minutes to check what's going on!

OP posts:
Dana · 20/07/2005 14:25

I totally understand your frustation, it's crap not knowing and time seems to drag. Think it sounds quite promising for you though

My DH was the same - more convinced than me that I was pg. He got me all hyped up.

I was also thinking about the ovulation thing today. I basically have no idea when I will be ov, as my next cycle could be any number of days long. Would also be waste of money to try ov tests until my cycle is more regular. So my solution is....BDing every or every other night from about CD12 and until I either get a BFP or AF arrives

Think you should be pretty well covered with your CD12-20 BDing this month

MandM · 20/07/2005 14:07

Dana - I was actually really getting to the stage where I was convinced I was pg. Boobs are tingly and tender on and off and stomach just feels 'odd', sort of bubbly and well...just 'odd'!
I have never had a 'build up' to my AF IYKWIM, it has always been not there one minute, then completely there the next! I'm getting a bit too graphic today - it's going to put people off this thread!
How are you going to try and work out when you are ovualting if your cycle is so long at the moment? It was something I was wondering about the other night, because if AF does come now at 38-40 days, was the BDing we did at CDs12-20 wrongly timed?

Confused, stressed out and fed up of waiting now. I just want to know one way or the other. Dh is going to be really upset if I'm not pg. He was convinced I was and so excited

OP posts:
Dana · 20/07/2005 13:53

MandM, weird... sounds a bit like how some people describe implantation bleed. Maybe your cycle was longer this month and that's why you haven't tested + yet. But then again could be start of AF. Hope the first How are you feeling - any signs of either?

Yes, it's strange to be excited about AF, but have had so many ups and downs over the last couple of weeks, that I am just happy to be given a fresh start.

MrsQ, I like MandM's idea of telling your sis first. Let us know what you decide and how you get on. Congrats again

MandM · 20/07/2005 13:09

MrsQ that is so fantastic! Like you said, it is going to inevitably be a little sad for your sister whenever you tell her, but she will be overjoyed for you all the same. Perhaps you could make her feel extra special by telling her first and making a point of asking her not to tell anyone else until week 'x', so that she knows how important to you she is?

Dana - Congratulations on your AF arriving (god, it sounds so weird to be saying that on this thread!)

Well, as for me, things are a little weird. This is probably a case of 'too much information' so apologies if you're squeamish. This morning I have got very pink streaks of blood in a mucusy type discharge. No great quantity, certainly not anough for a pad or a tampon. Not like my normal AF (or even like last months 1st AF after pill) at all. WTF is going on now?!

OP posts:
lilaclotus · 20/07/2005 09:22

mrsQ!!! congratulations!!!
when are you due?
i think we will wait (when eventually pregnant) until about 8 weeks to tell everyone. my SIL is pregnant at the moment and she's the only one who knows we're TTC. DD has to keep quiet for now to her grandparents and that is very hard for a 4 year old! she told me yesterday she wants to use her pocket money to buying a dummy for our new baby. bless her.

jersey · 20/07/2005 08:10

Congrats MRSQ, well done, do u know your due date?

I have a sister who have just found out she and hubbie can't have kids! Have the option of IVF but isn't sure yet. When I get preg (fingers crossed) I'm not sure when I will tell her. The first time I waited because I knew they had been trying for years and no joy, but she seemed to be ok. This time would be different because she knows for definite.

Let me know how it goes, as it may help me as well. Good luck.

Dana · 20/07/2005 07:58

MrsQ. Fantastic news!!! Congratulations
Lots of sticky dust your way.....
It's difficult one with your sister, isn't it I would imagine that she would rather know sooner than later, though off course it will be a bit hard on her. But you know her best, and only you can decide when to do it... does she know you were trying for another?

AF finally arrived this morning on day 47!!!
And I am delighted Never thought I would say that, but am just so happy to know what's going on. Now can get on with trying again. Just hope my cycles will get more regular soon.

MandM, any news?

2girls, how's it going with you. Did the bleeding stop again, or was AF early?

Welcome to Jersey

trying4bump · 20/07/2005 07:39

congratulations mrsq, hope i'll be joining u soon.x

MrsQ · 20/07/2005 07:16

Ohmigod ohmigod, BFP!!!!

Actually tested on Monday but couldn't get to my PC til now. Have just done another test cos totally hasn't sunk in. Flippin heck. Dead excited, nervous, terrified etc. No symptoms apart from weird feeling boobs! Haven't told anyone yet and will probably try and keep it quiet as long as poss as am more worried that something will happen with this second pg'y. Also sis is going thru treatment for PCOS and has been trying for years. Last time (when I had ds) she had an unsuccessful cycle of IVF and I'm in constant dilemma about when to tell her. I know she'll be happy for me but she'll inevitably be a bit sad too. Last time I waited til about 9 weeks and she was upset I'd waited so long but at the time I thought it would be harder to tell her sooner whilst she was in the middle of treatment. Ooh don't know, so for the moment I'll just tell you guys and hope the result sticks and brings a few more BFPs for the string.
Right, off to shovel weetabix in to ds before work now, see you later x

sarjon · 18/07/2005 15:26

Dana, am sorry to hear your news - maybe you should do as MandM says and try your local chemist, Ive heard they do an actual free preganacy test as well. Thinking of you and hoping your time away from mn is filled with lots of time consuming things to take your mind off it all.

MandM - may be as Dana says its just too early for you to tell yet? Please keep us updated!

Take care everyone xx

jersey · 18/07/2005 15:22

Hi Girls, joining in although I shouldn't really as like lovecloud my hubbie is saying wait until xmas to try due to finances!!!!

I have a just 1yr old, and messed up my pill (very forgetful) have had preg symptons and a light (for me) and short last p. Gave in and tested sun but neg. Feel disappointed now as although wasn't planning or trying yet, had convinced myself I could be as was looking forward to it. Due next week so will see if late then, could have been too early!!

If not this time will have to wait till xmas.

Good luck everyone, congrats to all those who are pg xxxxxxx

MandM · 18/07/2005 15:08

Dana - that is so wierd - I just opened up this thread, and as I did your message appeared!

about your tests, but still not giving up hope for you yet. You definitely seem to have all the right symptoms. Do some chemists not offer free pregnancy tests as well as GP surgeries? It might be worth getting an 'expert' like them to do a test for you whilst your waiting for your GP to get back?

If you decide to take a few days off, remember to check back in before the end of the wek to let us know how you are.

Thinking of you x

OP posts:
Dana · 18/07/2005 15:02

It's so frustrating, isn't it MandM?! Hope it's just still too early to tell for you. Maybe your cycle was a bit longer this month.

I'm a bit down today. Have been going to the toilet non-stop the last few days, all my clothes are tight and I have been totally knackered, so DH made me do a test Sunday morning, as he was convinced I was pg. Did a cb one and could have sworn there was a line there. DH, however couldn't see anything and said I was nuts. 1 hour later fished the test out of the bin (as you do ) and there was a clear blue line on it. So even though I should have learned my lesson from last time, I had myself convinced I was pg.

Today I phoned my GP but the surgery is closed August 1st, so thought I would do another test just to make sure. BFN!!! No doubt about it.

Had a look at the website "peeonastick" and one of the pics of an evap line on cb test looked just like mine from yesterday....

So disappointed and feel a bit stupid for imagining all the symptoms.

Good luck to anyone testing this week. Might take a couple of days off MN as I need to try and focus on something else. But then again maybe to addicted to stay away

Phew, feel better now. Thanks for reading if you got this far.

lilaclotus · 18/07/2005 10:41

mandm, i hope you can test again soon!!!
i should be ovulating tomorrow. i get ovulation pains, so hoping to get those soon. we're off on holiday on saturday (to the lake district) and i hope we can test when we get back.

MandM · 18/07/2005 09:23

Dana - any news?

OP posts:
MandM · 18/07/2005 09:23

Morning!

Well, mixed news from me really. Unfortunately I gave in to temptation and used my last test on Saturday morning instead of Sunday morning. Got a BFN. Wish I'd waited that extra day now!

Anyway, today is CD36 and still no sign of AF. Feel distinctly 'weird' in my stomach and don;t know what to make of the whole thing.....

OP posts:
2GIRLS · 18/07/2005 00:32

MrsQ did you test?? I know how tempting it is I've been testing every blooming day (told you I was mad) can't seem to stop, luckily I'm getting them off ebay so v cheap.

I'm not totally sure of my dates but usually my cycle is around 35 days (though it has been more and less) so I am assuming that AF will be here 20 - 22 July.

My test today was neg as always, BUT I had a very light bleed which if it is AF then it's early and I don't think I get a light bleed before proper AF, so don't know what it is, could it be implantation bleed? Lots symmptoms and going toilet alot but this has happened before then I'm not pg.

Any news Dana and MandM..?

munz · 17/07/2005 10:06
