Barbie dd had one of [http://www.cuski.co.uk/ these]] that we slept with before she was born.

barbie1 · 02/02/2010 11:44

Oh and i keep having to squeeze my (.)(.) as they are aching so much...i need to express some of the milk that is already in....some squirted in dh face he read that nipple stimulation was meant to bring on labour...although being a man he got carried away and ended up squeezing as hard as he could and some milk shot out onto his face and neck...gosh did i giggle!

barbie1 · 02/02/2010 11:42

barbie waves to lbm and neeko no work ladies???

barbie1 · 02/02/2010 11:40

jools my finger is aching from constantly pressing refresh...dont be a tease!

mls loving the new calm you! Your car sounds fab and i especially liked the part where you wrote that you will be 17 weeks pregnant when you collect it....

4ever what can i say...families eh? im still avoiding dh mother, still very upset about it but trying not to take it out on dh any more...i did call his mum a few unforgiving names i blame the horror mones ...just moan away on here and we can help each other to chill out. Good for you buying the first few things for your little girl, i was very proud of you when i read that.

monkey i cant imagen how terrible this time is for you right now, the bit in between as you put it. I hope you are taking it easy though and concentrating on that new lo inside you....and cuddling your ds as tight as you can..did have a little giggle at him pretending to be a cat!

neeko i have never heard about scenting the babies things so they are used to your smell....i might give it a go. Although not right now as i seem to be waking with hot sweats and im sure baby barbie wouldnt like the smell of a hot sweaty mummy! 33 weeks...wow. Im 38 on thursday....no sign of anything happening for a while, im sure this baby is just like daddy and way too chilled out to be bothered to make an appearance! Although that said my lower back is very achy and i do feel sick

vjay hair all done in time for the christening....i did learn a valuble lesson today, never tell your hairdresser to take off as much length as needed to get hair in tip top condition...you will end up with almost a bob after having very long hair whoops, did realise how bad it must of been!

iggy thinking of you tomorrow, what time is the scan? im in at 3.30 which is 11.30 your time, are we hospital buddies?

Posting now so i can see if jools has re posted.....

littlebellsmum · 02/02/2010 11:39

Neeko · 02/02/2010 11:38

MLS so happy to hear you feeling so positive. Has to be good for your little bean New car sounds amazing. Won't be describing my car on here now

Monkey Hope this week goes well for you. Know this is hard but FWIW I think you're doing brilliantly. Keep giving those hugs to your DS.

Cupcake can't wait til you pick a new home and do a link so we can all ooh and aah!

iggy one day nearer your scan

Jools 9DPO - symptoms or ?

4ever I'm sorry this has made you so and I know how unfair it seems. Just a thought though, do you think MIL might be overcompensating a little to herself and BIL as in her heart she's not as excited about this baby as yours. It must be quite a time for her too as I'm sure she'd rather your BIL was as settled and loved up as you and your DH are. It seems your family is generally very supportive. As for comparing the babies, that's normal and natural but EVERY thing your girl does will be amazing to you. Try to let it go. You don't need the extra stress.

Blue/MLS Thanks for the sling info. I'll definitely be looking into hinting about that one.

We are borrowing a crib this time instead of a moses basket and my mum phoned last night to say that she now has it. Got me a little bit excited . Started sleeping with baby's teddy comforter teddy last night. Did that with DD's before the birth and apparently your scent lingers and helps them to settle. Seemed to work with her. 33 weeks today - I'm sudenly very aware of the tick tock of the clock

MummyLovesSadie · 02/02/2010 07:36

4ever I hope you are sleeping peacefully after getting all that off your chest!

Monkey have you worked out your edd yet?

4everhopeful · 02/02/2010 02:51

Oops sorry for rant just to add tho, their edd is on our 'getting together' 5yr anniversary (was 25/05/05) & this our 5th baby! DH lucky no is 5! Also for yrs, we always spoke of asking oldest bil to be godfather, but u guessed it, they asked him after their last big row! Just grateful they are havin a boy so they dont nick our name too! (DH said if use our boy choice he would stop talking to them!) I feel really petty saying all this out loud, but hey, if i cant rant on here?! I know our gorgeous special girl is our precious gift & the 3 of us are gonna be a very special family.. I know mil means no harm, i dont even begrudge bil, we always hoped he might settle down & used to feel sorry for him.. Just a bit of a case of sods law after what we been through to get here, as Mls says we dont wanna be compared as this is our precious miracle baby that we have been trying 3yrs for on my birthday in march, when i first came off the pill! Think im also reacting badly as my dad wont be here to balance it out cos would of been his first grandchild & he would of been an amazing granddad & spoilt her rotten (i was his only child) I know my mum is there & totally supports & understands, tho she is 77 soon & wont be able to play a really active role sadly cos of bad back etc, my dad would be 58 this year & was always full of beans (her toy boy ) ... Of course none of the rest of the world will matter once she is in our arms.. Spose id better try to get back to sleep, DH woke a couple times & looked at me quizzacly! Like this ..... x x x x x

4everhopeful · 02/02/2010 02:20

Thanks cupcake & mls for understanding! Also lovely to hear u feelin great benefits from the acup .... Just woke up still fuming just feel like this will continue into who took first steps/spoke first word/potty trained etc... This is our precious first born & i really thought mil understood after watching us go through 2yrs of mc hell.. Really hurts that our big news of our brave purchase was just disregarded cos bil gf had done it all first (even tho we told her about the mamas & papas half price moses after we got it!) All mil wanted to talk about was what they already had, & also got in how the buggy they liked was really cheap (unlike ours) but did 'everything', for last 2yrs she said would get the pram as did so for all her boys (dH youngest of 4, oldest have 4 dc between them, bil who is expecting is 3yrs older than dH & were both close growing up, tho he was a bit wild, off on benders with the boys, never looked like would settle down etc, this gf was a 'bit on the side' to his long list of gf over the yrs that never lasted, been several since dH & i wed, this gf & he decided last yr to make a go of it & she chucked out her youngest dd dad to do so. It was literally about to finish with them & bil move back to mil, again, when they announced the preg, 1wk after us ) ..As said even older bil not impressed on our behalf & they already 'split up' a few times since, once so bad had mil round in tears after our first ante natal (more thunder stealing) cos bil moved back in & the gf was ringing up screaming down the pho to mil.. She has totally over familiarised herself with mil, her kids call her grandma (wtf?) & she calls & slags off bil reguarly, even told mil he gave her an std, which later turned out to be a lie, amongst several others.. Me & sil have discussed all this, mil is even wise to most of it, which is why it hurts so much that shes belittling our news that we hold dear & are excited about, now its 'well now iv got 2 grandchildren coming' & quick to compare us

MummyLovesSadie · 01/02/2010 21:56

O-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m I feel amazingly reassured after my acupuncture tonight. Honestly I really wish all of the small panters would look into it. I was speaking to my lady & asked if she knew other acupuncturists around the country she could recommend & she said she would recommend anybody on this website.

4ever you are not being unreasonable. Why must people say stupid things to people like us without thinking about the effect it will have? Of course you don't want to be lumped into a group with another couple who are constantly at each others throats & you don't want to be in any way compared to someone who has children willy-nilly & to who the shadow of mc has never even entered her thoughts. What you & dh have is pure & special, don't you ever forget that & don't think for one minute that you are to be compared to 'Maxine' in any way. It reminds me of my sil & bil who said last year that perhaps I'm not meant to have any more children & I don't want to admit it but it was due to my age. I can't wait to swan up to Scotland with a four month bump & say "Up your hole with a ten foot pole"!

Cupcake I can't remember where I got my sling from (somewhere on the internet) but you may find that it would be cheaper to buy it from an online shop which accepts discount vouchers. You just need to google for the vouchers for that shop - I do it all the time & usually get money off whatever I buy.

Blue mine is in charcoal too! We also have a BabyBjorn but I found it too fiddly & not natural feeling. I've just found a picture of me carrying dd in the Close carrier when she was a few weeks old, will add it to my profile now!

cupcakefairy · 01/02/2010 21:53

Aw 4ever so sorry, x-posted earlier... that does suck so much feel mad on your behalf having your thunder stolen too sorry. Other people never seem to get it do they but it's worse when it's family. You rant away girl!

cupcakefairy · 01/02/2010 21:09

Ah yes blue that is the sling I want thanks MLS for the link! Might try to get it cheaper on ebay though...

Aw monkey that is so sweet about the Algerian guy... well, rest assured I am praying for you lots

I thought Curly was going to be going in on Thurs, not Fri...that's when she said 'a week today' ...Curly are you there to enlighten us?

And gracie if you're lurking, thinking of you lots this week hope you're not too uncomfortable!

4everhopeful · 01/02/2010 21:05

Sorry just have to rant! Blummin in laws! You all know what a massive step it was for us to buy our moses basket last wk? Well, i might of mentioned dh brothers gf got preg a few months after they got together, about a week before we did, all they do is row & not exactly loved up, its bil first baby, her 3rd ...Even oth bil said talk about steal ur thunder, which is exactly what we felt when we got told.. Anyway we told mil today about moses basket, we see bil the night we brought it & told him of our brave purchase & how it was half price, when i just told mil she promptly told me oh maxine got her moses & it was half price, then proceeded to tell me all the other purchases she had, inc a cot she had paid for! She just dont get the significance of what it meant to us to be brave enough to actually buy stuff for the baby we have tried 3yrs for after all we been through! Huff! Im not bein unreasonable am i? DH fuming too!

bluesatinsash · 01/02/2010 19:19

cupcake/neeko - its the close baby carrier (in charcoal) as linked by MLS that I have and it fantastic! After a couple of attempts DS2 slips in in seconds and is really cosy. I had my sister's babybjorn for DS1 but found it a fankle and quite rigid. Got my 'close' from Mothercare - £54 I think...

Neeko - my SPD vanished immediately after birth in both pgs to fingers crossed and WOW! to only 2 Monday left - yay!

Hi monkey - how's your DS? Hope your uddles are settling him. You deserve bi hugs too just now x

Is curly being induced on Friday? How exciting!!!

MummyLovesSadie · 01/02/2010 18:19

Monkey we bought the new Peugeot 3008 which won car of the year this year. We've added 8 grand of extras so there are dvd screens in the back, in the touch of a button the whole roof slides back revealing a huge glass roof, we've upgraded the stereo so we can plug our ipods in, we have a pop-up satnav & a few other things. It's black - which is not a silly question as it is very important ! We'll have it when I'm about 17 weeks & we are planning a trip up to Scotland as soon as we have it. (Watch out Neeko)!

Cupcake thank you for your prayers, that is very thoughtful of you. I have a murron's pouch too, it was excellent when I was breastfeeding (expecially when I had visitors & didn't want to expose myself!) but I think what you are looking for is the close baby carrier.

Vjay I'm planning on telling him after I have my first scan which, if it all goes to plan, he'll be on a business trip in the States!

monkeybumsmum · 01/02/2010 17:18

MLS Indigestion is good I've had that for the past couple of weeks too. Please come and share all your wobbles on here - I feel better knowing it's not just me that's terrified! What car did you get by the way? What colour is it (dh would so laugh if he knew I asked that question )

Vjay Yes, had lovely cuddle thanks, although ds now thinks he is a cat and is going round miaowing and scratching at our legs

Cupcake Thank you so much - it's so lovely that you said a prayer for MLS and me. When I was expecting ds I worked with an algerian guy who knew how long it had taken us to get pg. He kept telling me that he was praying for me all that time, and while I was pg, and even came to see us in hospital when ds was born. He was such a kind man. Unfortunately he left while I was on mat leave, and we lost contact. I've felt a bit weird thinking that this time he isn't praying for us
Good luck with the house hunt, hope you find something you love soon!

cupcakefairy · 01/02/2010 16:53

Aww MLS you haven't told dh yet? Really hope this week doesn't send you round the bend too much...prayed for you and monkey in church yesterday, for sticky sticky beans!!

I really want a sling too, the type that has baby right up close from birth so I can carry lo around everywhere - apparently it makes them cry less! Was considering a murron's pounch but actually I think they're not really close enough...I want one of those ones that straps them in right to you. Blue which one is it you have?

monkey so sorry to hear ds is playing up, bless him he must be a tad confused by the atmosphere. Hope you've had some quality bonding time. Hope Wednesday goes ok and the days between flying back don't feel too mental.

Neeko we have a big long list of more flats/houses to see this week..just worried they'll all go before we get a chance to see them, the market is a little crazy right now but I'm trying to be a bit more zen about it now!

Right, nearly home time...

VJay · 01/02/2010 16:52

Wow mls your dh doesn't even know yet! When are you going to tell him? I was going to hold of telling dh last time around, only managed a few hours though, so well done to you

Hi monkey hope you are cuddling your ds as we speak

curly am really excited for you, can't believe babycurly will bere so soon

barbie don't know much about slings sorry.

Off to cook pizza for me and ds1, Ajay has had a gluten free rusk and loved it, no mess it was that yummy, and dh is down in Falkirk I think and won't be back til late.

OP posts:
MummyLovesSadie · 01/02/2010 16:40

Hello peeps, yes I've been missing in action due to doing my own freaking head in! Was convinced at the weekend I was having another cp. At the moment I have to do a test every day - just for my peace of mind. I've binned that particular brand of internet cheapies I was using as despite them supposedly being able to detect hcg at 10 miu, the test line barely registered. I'm slowly starting to believe I'm actually pregnant, now all I need to do is not have a mc. I've not phoned the epu yet, I'll do that later in the week when I finally believe that I'm properly pregnant.

Monkey I don't ever get strong symptoms, I wish I did. I have had indigestion for over a week now though & the last couple of days I've been fall-asleep-on-my-feet tired. I've just looked up hyperemisis, I really hope you don't get it this time.

Neeko I bought the closer baby carrier & absolutely loved it. You can use it from when they are first born right up until when they are toddlers, although I'd never try it with dd as I'd slip a disc! Thanks for your advice this weekend & for checking the pics of the hpt's I've been sending you - was considering sending you a pic of the Sainsbury's one this morning but I'll do that in two days when I've done the other one & then you can compare & contrast! Having a mc really does send you round the twist.

Barbie I'd be so pissed off if someone announced my chosen names to the world. What did your dh say about it?

Iggy I didn't feel anything feel anything until 17 weeks & even then it was a case of 'did I or didn't I'. You wait until you get towards the end of your second trimester, you will literally feel your baby do complete 360 spins, that used to make me feel quite sick!

Cupcake Your baby will have a heel-jab in hospital just after you have given birth but you will be there to give babyCupcake a big cuddle & make everything ok again.

Vjay 5 months is like, nearly half a year!

Curly hope you are feeling calm & zen-like at your impending new-arrival on Friday. When you leave your house on Friday morning make sure you look back at it & think "The next time I come home I'll have my baby with me".

Jools how are your symptoms comparing against the ones on that website?

Sending a big hug to Moon, hope you're doing ok.

Despite all the weebling & wobbling, I did actually have quite a good weekend. We ordered a lovely (& quite huge) family car - funny as dh doesn't even know I'm pregnant yet! Then I started cleaning & couldn't stop, I even took the oven doors off to give them a proper clean!

I know I've left a load of you out but it's dd's teatime so I've got to dash.

I'll be back later.

monkeybumsmum · 01/02/2010 15:11

VJay Ooh lovely, a christening to go to Time just flies by doesn't it - must feel like yesterday to you that little Ajay was born!

Jools Hope you're okay and that things calm down at work soon... Will look forward to hearing any possible symptoms on Wednesday.

Cupcake That's lovely that dh saw your tummy move! It must be v odd for them mustn't it!

Neeko Your poor DD -it must be horrible for you too not being able to go with her. Sorry to hear about your SPD, it must be very painful Am sure I've heard stories about it going after the baby's born. Hope that's the case for you.

Barbie re your MIL. I would be furious if my MIL did that. It's absolutely your news to tell, she must realise that if she has a bit of time to reflect on it? BUT, the most important thing is you and the baby, so stay calm and try not to get too worked up.

4ever Bet that vest and rattle will be just sooo cute It's lovely that you're starting to get things for your DD. You're being so strong, despite all the worry you're going through. Big hug x

Iggy Gosh, 16 weeks! Won't be too long before you feel your lo - I remember feeling ds move for the first time at around 19 weeks, I burst into tears!

Things are very strange here - we just feel like we're in some kind of limboland and can't seem to escape. Over the last few days I've started feeling a bit off colour and this morning have actually felt quite sick. Have had hyperemisis twice before, so am praying that it's not going to hit too badly this time.
4ever Yes, I do have my consultant's appt - at 10.30 on Wednesday, so 9.30am UK time. Have somehow got to get back to Belgium before then - flight's tomorrow afternoon, but have so little energy and just feel like sleeping. Am getting a bit stressed about the appt, but I suppose what will be will be and all that.

MLS How are you doing? I've been thinking about you and hoping that you're alright and that symptoms have kicked in strongly. Am so glad we're going through this at the same time

Mermaid How are you doing? I think it was you who asked if I thought getting pg was to do with the op - yes, I think it must've been that as was successful first time I ovulated afterwards. Just amazing really.
Ae you going to see someone about your fibroids at all? I felt funny about going to see someone as I wondered what on earth they could do to help, but somehow they managed it. Just need to stay pg now...

Sorry not to post to everyone, but must go and entertain ds - his behaviour has been awful the last few days. Not surprising really with all that is going on but need to try and break it. Am going off to give him a cuddle
Big wave to everyone I havent mentioned, hope you're all okay x

iggypiggy · 01/02/2010 14:54

re: slings

I know nothing on this subject - but have been recommended this website here

and i quite like the look of the Connecta one? Also there are reviews of slings on MN.

Thanks barbie neeko and Cupcake am feeling better about the idea of not feeling anything for a while... lots of people on my antenatal thread are feeling things, so am pleased is not bad sign!

jools fingers crossed

neeko your poor DD - I hate injections, even now...

vjay looking forward to this virtual christening

barbie1 · 01/02/2010 14:48

Settles down to read all incoming info on baby slings...one of the few things we have left to get...like neeko any info from mummies would be great

iggy i didnt feel any thing until about week 19, even then i wasnt sure if it was just gas or something else really felt like kicks and turns about week 23...its a long wait but very worth it

mls i wondered where you has gone too...im guess your head is buried in your bathroom cabinate trying to locate another test? come back and talk...its better to share

vjay 5 months!!! OMG!!! Laughed at you dressed in a pirates outfit...defo borrow neekos stuff...so much more girlie

jools hope you come back posting with some good news...did you get your bag?

cupcake I guess she has every right to be super excited and wanting to tell the world, but i do wish she had thought a little more about it....you will find the perfect house that both you and dh love soon enough...dont worry babycupcake will be waking up in a gorgeous nursery soon enough, oblivious to the rush it took to get it ready!

curly are you ready to give us our next grad???? im soooooo excited for you i think i might of been getting some Bh, been feeling a few pains across tummy that i havent felt until now...here's hoping!

neeko hope dd is feeling better, im also not looking forward to the whole injection thing...prehapes dh will take the lo for me hope your 2nd to last monday flew by...not long until you are as bored as me on mat leave!

Hello to everyone else....ive calmed down a little but still not spoken to mother in law, that can wait for another week day.

Have a nice evening x
