GG & Barbie, contractions, how exciting. GG I think yours is imminent.

Had a major sense of impending doom this morning. Off out to get a 1st Response.....

barbie1 · 04/02/2010 07:05

Barbie puts down the phone to the police and realises her barbiemoblie wasnt stolen yesterday....the emmsy angels 'borrowed' it!

Hi Girls did you like the drive???? sorry i didnt make it, felt sooooooooo sick and rough, really thought something was happening to me managed to make it into hospital for me checkup, but was late, in a hurry and having a heart pulputation attack so ive been referred to the cardio people on monday. Baby engaged (still) and my fundal height is now spot on 38cm where it should be...so the doctor thinks my dates are more or less spot on, so no more panicking...phew. No idea why im feeling so rough but like gg im constantly hot, sweating buckets and last night think i felt my first proper contraction thingy....god it hurt!

Anyways enough about me back to you lovely ladies...

I cant beleive none of you have mentioned how gorgeous monkey is i added her on fb abd she is a proper yummy mummy! Oh as is mls who has just the best wedding pictures ever...proper secret garden wedding...As you can tell, i just surfed the net yesterday

monkey fab news on the scan....at 6 weeks on mine they couldnt even see that...let alone the heart beat...roll on next thursday where once again we will be hospital buddies...

mls have you told dh yet????? I too cant beleive the cheek of some people, they really dont understand do they? I hope you go back in there and see this horrid bitch and wave your 20 week in her face! ha ha.

jools sorry i was getting so excited that... ok we shall not mention it! Anyway i have no idea who the text went too it wouldnt of made a bit of sense to anyone apart from someone on here...least i didnt get a dirty old man texting back asking for barbie! Ill have to get your number via fb so you can update if im one of the big panters that goes missing for a day of so

vjay and mls you just know something like that is going to happen to me dont you??? Im sure to entertain you all with my silly mummy stories..

moon are you ok? i hope you have a fab birthday this week. my last one wasnt great (29th) but my 30th just gone was faboosh! the total opposite, a year will make a big difference and my guess this will be the last year without child so make the most of the vodka it while you can, do a little dance around your handbag for me!

cupcake and 4ever my midwife gave me a really good list of everything to take into hospital...if you want i can post it here. Things like a bottle of juice that you can just help yourself too at any time, lipbalm as g&a will dry out your lips and some sweeties to give you a sugar hit if you feel tired...also snacks for you and dh because hospital food sucks and if you go in at night there is quite often not a food service til the morning and you will be starving!

4ever im sorry to hear all your woes...not an easy time is it Like someone else suggested can you not call up the hospital and speak again to midwife to put your mind at ease? As for families im still on that subject...and no she hasnt called to redeem herself.

mermaid are they guys in the gym good looking? i only guess that they are and thats where you been hiding for the last few days

lbm how are you doing? Whats going on in your world, any news?

iggy not long now til scan day....i laughed that your dp was more interested in the dog than the nursery! Typical man...have you ventured anywhere near mamas and papas or mothercare with him to show him all the yummy things you can do to a nursery????

curly so friday?????? are you hoping baby makes an appearance or it this a definate, sorry if you have already said Im beyond excited for what could happen in the next three long boring weeks god knows how hyper ill be if i knew it was only a few days away!

Gosh i have cramp in my foot, have to move...will be back soon xxxxx

GracieGirl · 04/02/2010 05:21

I can't sleep! I had 10-20 min contractions all afternoon/evening yesterday , though they never got closer together or more than just a bit uncomfortable. They stopped as soon as I went to bed, but I've felt rough all night, sweating buckets even without duvet or heating on. I've got up to allow DH another hours sleep before his alarm goes off for work.

4ever sorry you are having problems with your MIL, I don't know what to suggest, I'm not good at MIL's!! Mine's a bit strange at times too! I think you're right, no one understands, I think we just have to be grateful that at least our DH's understand and everyone on this thread understands, though that doesn't always help us out in the real world when people say such stupid things!

Jools make sure you let us know if we need to take a detour with the barbie-mobile after kicking MLS's doctor! We can't have any doctors causing you grief!

Joolsiam · 03/02/2010 20:51

4Ever - people, even good friends who are trying, just don't get it. Sadly I think you need to have lived through multiple MC to really know how significant the smallest things must be.

Oh, and can we have a rule that all those with pants that are stretched to the point the elastic is about to burst and the pants will go saggy check in at least once every day so we don't prematurely assume we are cyber aunties again

Still here. Had a GP follow up appt today and was tempted to tell her I thought I might be PG, but decided that was tempting fate and kept quiet - didn't want the same sort of treatment as MLS

My head is spinning, I have a stinking cold again and my boobs ache - off to bed. Sorry for short posts - I just can't seem to concentrate enough atm

4everhopeful · 03/02/2010 20:32

......and continuing with my random mindflow & fluctuating confidence - been lookin at a great thread on active discussions - childbirth all u need to know! No holds barred, gritty advice for us first time mums, some make u wince, some great, such as tying hair back before canulas in hand, stress balls to squeeze durin internals, chocs to keep midwives sweet.. Invaluable stuff, will be showing DH!

4everhopeful · 03/02/2010 20:12

Glad u had a lovely sounding day Mrskate!... at the bf tales Vjay & Mls!... Btw, Vjay thought of u & Ds1 last night, tv prog talked of therapeutic benefits of horse riding for autism.. You may already know of it? .......Massive thanks to Mls & Cupcake for much needed hugs & understanding.. Im a real wobbly weeble v much trying to steady myself & be strong which is exhausting in itself.. Part of wierd logic is to hang on for scan, next wk dH has driving theory test & a lesson, week after im back to work & its DH birthday, as we found out we lost no2 on his 30th birthday i just dont want to go near a scan room that week.. Really gonna try & hold out & be brave & distract ourselves.. (this face so sums me up at the mo!) .....On a diff note DH went to MIl & tried to explain how we felt, got told 'I dont like ur attitude, no ones stolen ur thunder' so he walked out! ...Poor lovely looked so sad & deflated, also v angry & all indignent 'thats it then, just me & u, f everyone, noone understands!' then he had to go back to work as on his lates this wk.. However he called before he left, at my suggestion to rise above it cos she does care, just clearly didnt understand, she wouldnt answer, but he got through while at work & told her he loved her, bless, she said she is happy for us, obviously, think its best to let sleeping dogs lie & be bigger people about it all...

MrsKate · 03/02/2010 17:36

Forgot to say a big YAY to Monkey! So happy it went well, are you 6 weeks?

Vjay Something similar happened to me, I was bf'ing dd in the car in a car park when she was about 3 weeks old. She'd been crying & I was so flustered I forgot to do up my bra AND pull my top down so I had one boob completely exposed when I got out of the car!

MummyLovesSadie · 03/02/2010 16:58

Thanks for kicking that doctor up the bum everyone (& slapping her face Neeko)! I'm not going to let her get me down, I've told my news to a few close friends & they have all been very supportive. My friend who tentatively announced her pregnancy to me four weeks ago (the one who always said "I don't want another baby as much as you do want one") is coming round on Friday so I can't wait to tell her & we are only 6 weeks apart!

4ever big hugs to you, is there any way you could call your midwife & ask for weekly scans? Maybe tell her you are going out of your head with worry. The moses basket is very cute & love the little bunny poking out. BTW that other toy is called a cuski!

VJay · 03/02/2010 16:54

Bugger, have just had my tesco shopping delivered and only just realised that I hadn't done up my nursing bra after the last feed, so one was where it should be and the other was waaayyyy south!!!!The driver must have been See new mums to be this is what you've got to look forward too , and yes I know I should have noticed but there's too many other things to think about let alone 'is my boob hanging out?'

OP posts:
cupcakefairy · 03/02/2010 16:40

Just lurking but wanted to give you massive hug 4ever - 3 weeks is a long time to wait when you're weebling lots but just think, she will be 3 weeks bigger and 3 weeks closer to meeting you, and her lungs 3 weeks more matured...she's going to be just fine.
I def know what you mean about lists! A girl on my AN thread recommended this book and everyone is raving about how great it is so think I might make a purchase soon!

4everhopeful · 03/02/2010 16:25

Ah glad to hear all looking well Monkey I woke up thinking of you, Im sure you were all over the place waiting.. Im another pray-er, so you can add me to the list of peeps sending a special request to him upstairs for you! How many weeks are you now?

Gracie great to see you back hon, sorry to hear of all the dramas but glad to hear your Nan, Step Grandad, cousin & 'Granny' are all recovering! When is your edd again? Bet you are counting minutes!

Lovely to hear from you too Lion, bless your DS he looks so cute, I sneaked a peek at your profile..

Mermaid in case you are lurking, a big hug for a possibly weebly and very lovely lady.. xx

MLS grrr at unsympathetic people! Some people just don?t get it do they? Sod her, Ive sadly learnt to try & shrug off the abundance of comments from medical(&unmedical) people who have not had the pain of multiple mc like us & our need to cling onto our little lifelines of hope that carry us through! Im in the barbiemobile too! BTW thanks for tips, I feel proud now that I did get it right with babygros, vests, hat & mitts, & I knew about the cotton wool & water only as newborn, & SIL had also told me last week to sleep with our little mamas & papas cuddly toy we brought but do like the idea/look of the ch??? (preg brain!) so I knew more than I thought I did (pats back )

For any that are interested the moses we got is HERE - also got matching blankets, wall canvas, all to be picked up in May & said toy which is poking out of basket in linked picture which we dared to bring home (& I will sleep with soon-ish!)

Neeko hope DD is ok now after jab? I feel need to validate my issue with MIL to you! Please dont think im being petty & I know in scheme of things it 'shouldnt' matter, its just it was such a big step to buy stuff after our scare about 2 vessel cord & our delivery suite dash/cervical erosion panic, it was symbolic of our bravery & belief in baby, for that, yes, I wanted acknowledgement & a pat on back from MIL, not to be compared! I wouldnt want you to think it was as petty as BIL having same thing as we have! Its just been a crappy old month what with all the anniversaries & suchlike & times like that, I miss my dad like mad

Jools you naughty girl! I was on tenterhooks yesterday! Think you are doing well though with head in sand rather than obessing symptom spotting, I pray this is your month honey!

Curly im just so excited for you & will be honoured to be a text buddy! What day do you go in again? I have it in my head as Friday but this is scatty anxiety ridden preg brain so who knows!!!

Moon will be thinking of you tommorrow on a painful day.. Really hope you and DF have something nice lined up for your birthday on Friday?

Barbie how did the hospital go? Hope you got reassured about your dates and things & found out why you were put as high risk? You spoke to MIL yet? Has she redeemed herself?

Cupcake really pleased the SPD is easing up hon, reassuring for you to read what Curly said.. I loved hearing that LO was having a rave last night, mine was too! Maybe they are already united as cyber cousins! DH also felt his most definate movements yet when he had his hand on my tummy! LOL about the list writing, Iv been obsessing somewhat since our midnight dash to the delivery suite nightmare, I was walking round the house sobbing 'Do I take a bag?' knowing it would only be things for me if I did I wont actually pack one, just makes me feel better to think about it & have a list iykwim !

Iggy it wont be long for you now, I was itching to feel movement like you are, there were a few days of not being sure but now I recognise patterns & everything.. It was prob about wk 19/20..

BTW - said it before & you are prob recovering from night shift - but Hope youre having a Fabulously Happy Birthday Mrskate!

Big wave to LBM whizzing away at rate of knots!

Sabs hope your questions got answered!

Blue hope the bottle plan meant an extra hour or two of sleep for you & you are feeling a bit better today?

Vjay hows all the arrangements going? Im all donned in pink with wings, wand & tiara at the ready!

Well, despite accomplishing a mammoth post, the horrormones are in full effect, have been really worrying about the 2 vessel cord again today, my bf with newborn baby popped in yesterday & had googled it & kept hugging me & looking sympathetic, I did play it down to everyone else so not really getting too much sympathy about it, but tbh it is freaking me out, I keep putting head in sand, just so worried she is growing ok, and although everything was 95th percentile massive, the uterine artery flow was 5th percentile, smallest on scale cant bare the idea of another 3 wks to scan & check?! Trying to put the heart/kidney poss gastro/deafness (& worse..) outcomes to one side, I really am, but that means Im just obessing about her size now, which is what I did all through the early scans I have these strong brave moments where I think 'You WILL be ok litlle girl' and plan hospital bags, and have now even brought things in a show of belief, then complete wobbles where I feel like driving to hospital ala Lewis Hamilton & demanding 'Scan me now!' 'give me steroids for her lungs just in case' and 20 other scenarios!!!

cupcakefairy · 03/02/2010 16:01

GRRRR MLS that makes me so angry something like that can really deflate a person when they have been feeling positive - how dare she make you feel like that and the whole getting the dates wrong thing- do medical professionals not realise that some of us are in tune with our cycles? Definitely in that Barbie-mobile too!

Monkey yes, rest up! Sounds very positive and the best we probably could have hoped for today. Will be sending up those prayers for the high-def scan. Well done for getting through it all, within 24 hours of flying home too and with much elegance I'm sure!

Neeko · 03/02/2010 15:34

Monkey That sounds promising. Hope you have your feet up.

MLS Don't you dare let anyone's negativity get you down when you've just taken charge of your life again! I'm joining the gang in the Barbiemobile but will have to slap the doctor as SPD too sore for kicking!

Hi to everyone else. In a rush but will catch up later.

VJay · 03/02/2010 15:07

monkey hope you are relaxing right now, you probably won't relax a bit until you've seen the hb but the doc sounds positive so that's good

mls some people just don't understand do they and I think some doctors are worse than anybody. They should learn to take care of our emotions a bit better. I'm hopping into the barbiemobile with gracie

OP posts:
GracieGirl · 03/02/2010 15:03

You go and put your feet up Monkey. Its lovely to hear everything is looking good on your scan.

monkeybumsmum · 03/02/2010 15:00

V quick one from me as just in the door and feeling rubbish - the sofa is calling!

Thanks for thinking of me 4ever Had to wait ages at hospital as doctor was doing a delivery! I had a scan and everything is in the right place, but she said it was too early to see a heartbeat... Have to go back next Thursday for a high definition scan to check all is well. She said it was looking good though - apparently she could see that the sac wasn't empty which is good.

Really hope you're all okay - have to go and lie down now, bleurgh!

GracieGirl · 03/02/2010 14:37

Its a while since we all got in the Barbie-mobile to go and get someone but I think MLS's doctor needs a kick! Anyone coming?!

MummyLovesSadie · 03/02/2010 14:02

Just a quick one from me, I just took a deep breath & phoned epu to get some more progesterone & to tell them I'm pregnant again. I spoke to the doctor I used to think was lovely but I've gone off her a bit. The last couple of times I told her I was pregnant she's been like "No you must have your dates wrong, you can't possibly know you are pregnant at three and a half weeks". I just had a conversation with her & at the end I said "Well I'm feeling more confident this time as I'm having acupuncture", I could actually hear her smirking & rolling her eyes & all she said was "Ok then, bye". Feel a bit deflated now.

4everhopeful · 03/02/2010 13:36

Back for proper posting later & waves to all, just hoping to hear news of how our lovely Monkeys scan went this mornin? She must of been weeblin massively, been prayin all ok for her.. Be back later to check... X

VJay · 03/02/2010 13:11

Happy birthday mrskate hope you are having a fabulous day, allthough you are probably asleep right now it you're on nights.

gracie glad you#'ve got your internet connection sorted and just in time for you to pop , get your wings and wands ready for Ajays christening.

I think we should do it during an evening when we are all available, and yes curly bring cake and champers, you never know we may be toasting a few births too.

mermaid where are you????? Are you ok?????

Right gotta dash have ds1 home because had an appointment with his peadiatritan (sp?) for a review and now I need to get him back too school.

Laters my lovelies.............

Yay, lots to catch up on.
Hi gracie! Glad you got back to us ok! Wow, that sounds like a crazy week, especially the church drama! Glad everyone is recovering now.

MLS thanks for the advice re clothes! I thought they did stay in sleepsuits all day at first but didn't know if that was me being thick
I feel a bit overwhelmed sometimes at just how much there is to think about. I woke with abdominal pains last night and when I finally got back to sleep, dreamt that the baby came now and dh had to just go and buy everything...woke up in a total panic. Really had better start getting some stuff ready soon

4ever- allow me to just take a small moment to appreciate that YOU STARTED WRITING A HOSPITAL BAG LIST. I love it.

Curly thanks so much for the tips. Interesting your spd was worst at 22-26 weeks, my pain was 21-24 and still a bit ongoing now but nowhere near as bad as it was. Just hoping it doesn't come back with a vengeance!

blue glad you have a PLAN. Sounds all a bit trippy at the moment with the sleep deprivation! Hope dh being able to feed Ben works really well

Last night dh and I were reading in bed and he had his hand on my tummy for ages and Titch was literally having a rave or something- the most s/he's moved yet, it was so cool though dh described it as feeling like a bag of rats - not so cool.

GracieGirl · 03/02/2010 09:46

Morning all!

Yes MLS my 'Granny is the one who had the 90th party when I was about 8 weeks pregnant and feeling rubbish but trying to hide it, ended up getting grief from loads of old dears who decided I must have anorexia or bulemia cos I wasn't eating anything off the buffet!!!

Lion everyone is improving now thanks, I get confused sometimes with my own complicated family, so no one else has a chance!!

Curly not long for us now, and Barbie not long after that. I'm trying not to drive myself mad thinking every twinge is the start of labour. I hope you managed to get some more sleep.

Jools I hope your symptoms remain promising!

Happy birthday MrsKate!!!!! Only 26 years old today - I feel old!

CurlyBigPants · 03/02/2010 09:29

jools sorry we are an excitable bunch. It doesn't take much to start us speculating!!!! we should be thinking up distractions for you instead. Going to the gym silly early on a sat morning sounds like a good one tho!!!!
