So lovely to hear you all smiley and happy. Your DP/F sounds lovely and clearly knew this was the positive end to the year that you needed. Enjoy your gorgeous sparkler and do everything with your left hand so everyone notces how gorgeous it is! Congrats again.

BlueMoon1981 · 28/12/2009 21:50

well i am keeping my head in the sand for a little while longer yet, i've done a good job this month because i only counted my cd yesterday out of curiosity and was a bit i'm not even thinking about it until another week, i'm not having my body trick me again, oh no!

i love my ring sooo much, dp did a great job me thinks no dates in mind as yet, we have no money so it will be a good few years away unless we win the lottery! its a lovely end to truly crap year and i cant stop smiling

Neeko · 28/12/2009 21:42

Aww Moon your ring is gorgeous and has made me feel all glowy.
I loved just wearing an engagement ring - it never looked as good after I added my wedding band

( Remember every pg is different so the lack of symptoms might not necessarily mean anything - drink some champagne while you can!)

Do you have a date in mind for the wedding?

BlueMoon1981 · 28/12/2009 21:37

i think i have put up a pic? its a bit small though but you get the general idea

BlueMoon1981 · 28/12/2009 21:33

mls i am also hoping the law of sod will apply! nope, no real symptoms apart from i do seem to have had a lot of cramping, but i have very good skin at the moment and pre bfp i always have terrible skin so i dont think i am...

neeko i will attempt to put up a pic of my ring - i knew there was a reason i took a photo - dp or is he df now (?) laughed when he saw id taken a pic of my own hand

Neeko · 28/12/2009 21:24

Oh Happy Days!

Moon Congratulations!
So pleased for you (and secretly hoping you're getting a BFP to match that sparkler)Ca we have a pic of the ring please? Engagement rings make me feel warm and fuzzy, they symbolise such hope and happiness.

Speaking of hope and happiness, Blue it's lovely to have you back. I've had to hide my phone to stop me from invading your babymoon with texts from all the girls passing on their congrats. Your boys are gorgeous and now you really will be BF when the new series of GA comes on Like MLS says I'd just started lurking in your weebly wobbly 1st trimester days and there's such a sense of fulfilment in seeing the pics of Benjamin. Congratulations again. I take it once he was born there was no more mention of the irregular beat?

4ever Lovely to read of your bump talk and believing. I think your supposed to be a bigpanter now but still on the mediumpants list. You'd better brace yourself for moving though because I think we're in for a bumper crop of BFPs this month. I'll be holding your hand on Wed.

MLS how are you today? What's so exciting about Eastenders?

Jools hope you're feling better. Sending you some medicinal alcohol.

Curly how were the sales? Did you buy anything for Curlygirl? My Wriggler got a few Christmas presents which made me a bit misty eyed and not as scared as I thought.

Cupake Glad to hear you're having quality family time. Hope you're being spoiled silly.

Mermaid How're you feeling today?

We had a family dinner at my parents house tonight which was lovely. After dinner my mum was putting on random DVDs including the one of DD minutes after she was born. really made me melt. Can't believe I'm going to have a newborn again in 12-14 weeks though judging by my stomach, the skin might split by then

Neeko · 28/12/2009 21:02

MLS I have just emailed you. I'm off to check back now to see what all the smiles are about.

MummyLovesSadie · 28/12/2009 20:54

Moon that's great news! There is nothing like planning a wedding to generate sods law & you'll be waddling down the aisle while your guests will be holding clean towels & bowls of hot water just in case! Your long cycles must be totally doing your head in. Have you had any symptoms at all?

BlueMoon1981 · 28/12/2009 20:09

hello girls, hope you all had a very merry christmas i've been lost without you all, haven't had chance to get near the laptop since christmas eve.

buddha gorgeous pics, he is beautiful!

well my news - dp proposed to me on christmas day after a little treasure hunt round the house

am on cd 36 today, but remember by 42 day cycle last month, so am not getting excited yet....

sorry for the short post, just checking in briefly. will be busy again between now and new year, so if i dont manage to get on then i wish you all a happy new year and many new shiny bfps

MummyLovesSadie · 28/12/2009 19:59

Oh Blue welcome back, I had to read your post twice as it made me all warm & gushy! Just adore your pics of Benjamin, what a smasher. I remember so well when you had your bfp as I'd not been on the thread that long. It's been inspiring to follow your journey from bfp to your gorgeous new bundle.

4ever glad you are finally believing that you are pregnant & you will be pushing a pram around this Summer! I remember being at your stage & the bump having a growth spurt & me absolutely loving it!!

Right off to watch Enders now. It's getting rather exciting!

bluesatinsash · 28/12/2009 19:32

Found you all

Just read all the Christmassy posts and feeling really emotional at everyone's warm wishes, not just for Benjamin's arrival but for us all, whatever stage we're at. We are a unique and special lot, oh heck, I'm getting wobbly chinned again...

mermaid - you are one in a million and I'm so so sorry this has happened again. As the others have said, this thread would be lacking someone very unique and special if you were to go so please stay, we need your recipes and outdoor advernture stories .

Buddha - Ewan is just gorgeous, lovely pics, ou must be so over the moon .

Thanks for all your good wishes and 'pushes' . No pushing required as didn't get past 8cm after 25 hours of contractions so I requested a c-section and had to use my steely negotiation skills for them to agree as they felt I could get there and they could try forceps etc. I just know my body and knew there was no way baby was coming out vaginally . Theatre staff were fantastic, wheeled in to the sounds of 'step into xmas' by Elton John! I just burst into tears when they showed me Ben and babbled like a loon for ages on how lucky we were. We decided on the name back in our room. He just looked like a Benjamin. Midwives were all fantastic and Mum's on ward really nice.

I'm well and truly on my babymoon and just sit and stare at him. Breastfeeding is going well although toe curlingly sore for first 5 seconds as he latches on - I just reach for my wooden stick and chomp down . DS1 is smitten and looks about 12 compared to DS2 . I've posted a couple of pics .

I realised how much this thread means to me when all I could think of was posting when I got a minute and checking up on you all! I normally check every day and going a few days without news was hard. My cyber family

Just loved reading about all your xmas celebrations, long lying DDs', slightly soggy cakes, admiring bumps, 2wwers and overeaters (my bowels kicked back in big time after xmas dinner .

Bathtime for DS1 so better go but thanks again girls, your support and empathy this past year has meant the world

Onwards and Upwards into 2010!!!!

4everhopeful · 28/12/2009 18:47

Hey lovelies! Hope you all had a very merry christmas!!

Been thinking of you lots Mermaid xx

Just a quickie, DH & I have both had this horrific fluey/virus/cold for over a week now (must be the same as you Jools) its absolutely floored us! What timing, had to put off seeing a few friends, but still managed a nice christmas day at in laws with my mum in tow too, all BIL & other halfs & nieces & nephews in evening so very hectic & was done in by about 7pm! Lots of baby/pregnancy talk, my bump is massive! It actually all felt very real for the first time as was talking like it was all a definate thing which was a bit unnerving! Boxing day was spent at mums when sis & BIL & nieces & nephews down from uni, a little more chilled & even induldged in a teeny glass of 30year old port that my BIL brought with him! Spent the last 2 days recovering with DH enjoying being at home, my 80+ nan & aunt are visting from sussex tomorrow so we are being hosts...

Im so pleased I have a scan on Weds at 11am as have been panicing that Iv done way too much, specially with this rotten awful fluey cold thing, been so used to just taking it easy, spose its one way of making the transition back to work on Jan 11th as slowly been doing more, seeing more people & obviously used to the return to work after christmas each year so maybe has helped? Still would rather stay wrapped in cotton wool on sofa til June though!

Anyway, thought Id pop in & do an update, have lurked and glad to see you all had good ones.. As said thinking lots of our lovely Mermaidthebrave, also sending hopeful wishes for lots of sparkly new BFPs for our small panters, Im sure the saggy panters had amazing christmases with their new arrivals, and us medium & big panters (not sure which I am now?!?) enjoyed induldging & watching bumps grow by what seemed like the minute!!!!

I shall be back top post properly to you all v soon but just wanted to drop in!

Lots of love - Weebly4ever xxxxx Oh just reminded me, mum made me cry with a card that which was really a russian doll but looked weeble like, inside she wrote: 'to my brave wobbly weeble embles' ...talk about heartmelt! My mum is so fab & understanding, Im v lucky to have her & my wonderful DH (who spoilt me absolutely rotten! ) & of course you wonderful girls, who all truly understand & have supported me so amazingly! 4everthankful too! Love ya lots x x x x x

MummyLovesSadie · 28/12/2009 17:14

Buddha lovely pics, I can feel my ovaries throbbing just looking at them! He has brilliant head control, bound to be an athlete!

CurlyBigPants · 28/12/2009 11:47

buddha he is so gorgeous How are you doing? Have you recovered from the birth? Is the spd gone?

Big waves to everyone and hugs for mermaid xxx

I'm going to brave the sales... if I can force myself out of bed

VJay · 28/12/2009 10:56

MummyLovesSadie · 27/12/2009 20:09

Jools yay to us being on the same cd! I ov'd on day 11 though so will be testing earlier than you. I also secretly fantasize about having twins. Yes I KNOW it's bloody hard work but I'd really really really be so so so happy to have a multiple birth.

Joolsiam · 27/12/2009 19:39

MLS - I am Zen-like and at the moment - what will be will be I think I'm on CD20 aswell, but didn't ov till CD16 - ten days to wait. Am hoping the busyness of Christmas will stop me obsessing symptom spotting !

Buddha - bootiful piccies

Mermaid - The only thing I can cook is a roast dinner I started doing Xmas for DP's family because it seemed easier than making small talk with strangers - ten years on, they are friends and my family too, but I still like mucking in cos I then don't have to clear up I'm mostly in charge of roast potatoes, Delia's parmesan parsnips and the turkey - DP does the veg

It has been a PSP induced catatonic haze, as the only "child" in my family is 15 and that was his pressie of choice

{mind wanders off into fantasies of having twins next Christmas day }

Neeko - love the thought of your DD singing carols I can imagine the novelty would wear off after a while though !

Barbie - I hope Christmas in the sun wasn't too wierd and you were able to enjoy it.

Cupcake - good to hear from you

Hoping - Christmas wishes to you if you are lurking.

Back home now - some choc here but no other festive food, so once I've got over this hideous cold / virus, its back to the gym and normality !

Hello to LBM, Iggy, GG and the new mummies

ChristmasCupcake · 27/12/2009 17:24

Hello girlies just a very quick pop on as am still at my parents' probably til Thursday. Had a quick catch up though

Well this week has just once again cemented the bitter-sweet nature of this thread...blue's wonderful news and mermaid's heart-breaking news all in one day. Just want to hug and squeeze you both for different reasons. Well done for getting through Christmas mermaid you are so strong; I'm in awe. Glad you're being looked after by your dh

Blue huge congratulations and just welled up loads when I got Neeko's text... hope Ben enjoyed his first Christmas sabs Saara is still our only girl, we need to even this up!

I have been having my bump prodded, poked and commented on every 5 seconds of the day very strange. I got a 'knit your own baby blanket' kit for Christmas and have started it (with much help from my Grandma and Mummy!) reminded me of hoping... hope she's ok. I'll show you all a pic of the holey blanket when it's finished

Haven't got time to post to you all but hope you've all been having a lovely break and enjoying the festivities. We've had a lovely relaxing few days and very glad it's carrying on for another week

Lots of love all xxx

ps- crossing fingers for those shiny new year BFPs!

BuddhaBellySaggyPants · 27/12/2009 15:37

Neeko Just added some more, thanks for kind comments, he's starting to have more wakeful periods although thankfully not during the night! Going about 3 hrs between feeds so definately manageable x

Neeko · 27/12/2009 14:15

Buddha Not sure if the ones on your profile are new or not but Ewan is gorgeous anyway. Hope he's sleeping well. x

Neeko · 27/12/2009 14:13

Hi all.
As I type DD is sitting on the couch belting out 'Away in a Manger'. Very sweet but will I have to listen to it all year?

Mermaid Glad you survived the day. You are such a strong woman. Hope you've managed to squirrel a couple of selection boxes for emergency rations.

Vjay wow, baby rice? Your boy's getting big. It'll be mince and tatties by March.

Sabs Hope you're enjoying your special family time.

Gracie Doing nothing sounds blissful. Enjoy - all change next year.

MLS I'm assuming that my DD got the sleeping on Christmas morning gene from her dad?? I'll train her harder for next year. How was your DD with the blue puter?

Curly happy 2nd Christmas to you - enjoy.

Buddha Lovely to hear from you. I'm hoping to see your pics when I've logged on.

Hope everyone else is relaxed and happy. My DH is off on a boys' afternoon/night and I have a retro date with Beaches on DVD (which my mum bought me for Christmas, chocolate, new jammies and loads of pampering lotions and potions. Can't wait.

mermaidspurse · 27/12/2009 12:47

buddha ha! lovin your new name girl!

I hope you have had a lovely first Christmas all together.

mermaidspurse · 27/12/2009 12:45

phew! thats nearly over with then. Hope everyone had a lovely time.

sabs enjoy having your dh home, seems such a short time ago that you went to India.

I am sill in lovely new fluffy dressing gown and have to go to the inlaws at 3

Have been ok, helped by a small glass of baileys and bucks fizz enduced cookathon and how the hell does anyone cook for 11? jools you now have delia status

ds and dh seem to be in a wii induced catatonic haze and my arms hurt from thrashing them both at cycling. So the usual sort of Christmas really.

We managed to keep it together, and probably the fact that we had to has helped. ds just thinks I have had a bit of a poorly tum bless him.

blue so hope you are home and enjoying your little bundle photos soon please.xx

fingers crossed to small panters who are on the 2ww

4ever Hope you have had a lovely Christmas and that cold dissapeared.

vjay oh the joys of baby rice, they seem to know when they are ready don't they? glad you have had some precious time with dh.

right better see if I can find a hairbrush and some knickers!

BuddhaBellySaggyPants · 27/12/2009 12:40

I feel so bad that I haven't been on for so long I can't believe how much I've missed and am still unable to do a full catch up but couldn't leave without posting
Mermaid What can I say??? I am so very sorry my love that the miracle didnt work out and I wish I could think of something useful to say, I am thinking of you and I really feel for you x
Blue Congratulations thought it might be a boy as they seem to be the ones that cause the most problems during pg! So very pleased and love the name, hope you recover well can't wait to see photo's x

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, despite all our woes and troubles, bring on 2010, new thread, new bfp's, but still masses of love and support

I promise to catch up soon, still trying to get photo's on but using two profiles so it's been causing problems x

VJay · 27/12/2009 10:52

Good morning my lovelies, hope you all had lovely Christmases.

mermaid you weren't far from my thoughts throughout, hope you had a nice time.

It's all gone by too fast, dh is back in work today but is off again tomorrow and Tuesday yay!

blue hope you are home now and enjoying every minute.

We gave Ajay a bit of baby rice on Christmas day, he's been getting ready for a while now but I wanted to hold off until he's 17 weeks, well he's 16.5 but what the heck. He took to it straight away, so will introduce a bit of carrot next week I think
