Hi girls just a quick post from me...

MLS was so so to read your post. What a crappy start to the year. I don't even have any chocolate left to offer you but here's a hairstroke... you really don't deserve this

To everyone who asked we'll be moving during Jan or Feb I hope! DH and I both put it off til 'after Christmas' so I guess that's now!
Basically we rent a one-bed flat and were buying a house this time last year but lost loads of money when it fell through cos of the stupid recession so had our fingers stung a bit there and have been wary of trying again. Now for obvious reasons we have to move, but will probably just rent a slightly bigger house and keep saving for our one-day deposit. Half dreading it all, half excited to finally have more space. Yesterday we went to John Lewis and I got a teensy bit excited by nursery sets and buggies so I'm itching to have some space for the baby!
(For those who have pram-lust, we're thinking of the iCandy Cherry..looks lovely. )

bluesatinsash · 03/01/2010 11:58

Oh MLS - so to read your post. Try and take comfort in the fact you can get pg v. easily and your bloods are all fine. Early hpts are a double edged sword as in the 'old days' we would wait until AF was late but can now test up to a week before she'd due which just adds another potential heartache with CPs.. How are you today?

Neeko glad the boiler is working - go neekodad! We took our tree down on 30th as it was shedding and added to all DS1's toys we had no visible carpet in the living room! DH is off to IKEA tomorrow for more toy storage for the family/toy room (what was our dining room) so although DS1 has run of downstairs during the day we can reclaim living room at night as his Millenium Falcom et al are banished to toy room.

Barbie - 34 weeks - . Feb will be here before we know it. I can imagine how it feels to be hosting DH's family - lovely to have them but lack of personal space and 'me' time would annoy me too! Hope move goes well and don't you lift anything heavy OK?

Mermaid - thinking about you lots and lots xx

Vjay - is a grill up the same as a fat man fry up ? You've been in Scotland too long .

MM - hope you're home now and getting to know Nieve, bet you can't stop looking at her .

We're venturing out today, off to retail park where the snows not too bad. Really excited about using pram and showing Benjamin off . He slept from midnight to 5am this morning - thought my left boob was going to explode! He did cluster feed all evening and was in bed with me so think that contributed to his long lie. I had to do a double take when I looked at clock and it was 5am not 3am! Of course I'm making a rod for my own back having him in beside me and would NEVER have done that with DS1 as was totally Gina Ford/Baby Whisperer routine/avoiding bad habits but Ben just won't settle at night and we had four hours of settling him from 10pm to 2am Friday. I just looked at him last night and said 'come on in beside Mummy' and he fell asleep immediately. Remind me of this when he is three and still cuddling in beside me .

Ah well, ironing beckons, chores never end do they

Hope everyone enjoys what's left of the hols x

mermaidspurse · 03/01/2010 11:54

sorry I've not been around for a few days. Been trying to forget that its time for everything to go back to normal and god only knows where school uniform is. 4ever I think this time of the year is the pits regardless so sad and traumatic anniversaries are bound to make you feel x10 worse.

mls Did I miss you coming on here with a bfp? I am so sorry if I did and I am even more sorry to read your post today.
No words but you know we understand its just plain bitter. email if you need to.x

curly thank you for that link on fibroids. I am trying not to be hacked off with the ultrasound lady who was supposedly meant to be checking for just such things a wee while ago. But maybe they grow like a magic forest.

iggy I will be thinking of you tomorrow so much brave lady Is it an evening scan again? Please let us all know.x

neeko glad you got rescued with the boiler. Also very glad that they are keeping an eye on you and yuk to tonic water on its own. I am sure that everything will be fine for the 25th.

barbie thank you for your thoughts. You have done well to survive the inlaws.
Don't go lifting too heavy stuff and rushing around moving silly things young lady. 34 weeks omg where has that gone?? Are you going to find out the flavour at your check up this week?

blue lovely to hear that all is well and bonny in the blue household and that you have gold top well done.

4ever hope you are enjoying sunday. lbm bit of advice with bite chunks at a time is such a good one. Horrible colds always leave you feeling terrible, everythings grey need I go on?
My edd for my No1 would have been 21st Jan 06. It has always felt the hardest.

I thought of villagemum today all 3 of us lost los within a few day of each other last January. I so hope that she is happy.

You on the other hand must be getting tubby by now which is just one the best things to be happening in 2010

jools fingers crossed for you, don't go too mad at the gym and hope the cvold is going again.xx

better go vjays mention of a grill has made me want a big fry up

VJay · 03/01/2010 11:07

Oh mls I'm so sorry this happened to you again .

blue your post to 4ever made me well up it was so lovely

barbie can't believe you are 34 weeks already, not long now . Your inlaws will be gone soon enough then let the nesting begin

neeko our boiler did exactly the same and the hose is dripping into a bucket, it's been like that for days. There's been snow on the ground now for over 2 weeks now and I can't get out either. My sis rang last noght to say she had an inch of snow (in Cheshire) and she was so excited . I am soooo over the snow now

cupcake when are you moving?

Gotta go dh is back from the shop and wants a 'grill' up

Where to start???

mls i truely felt sick reading your last update, life can be so cruel, why does bad things always happen to the good people in life? I remember when my mum was told she had breast cancer i thought the very same thing...especially when you read the newspapers and watch the news and see that they are some truely wicked people out there who seem to get away with much less
I know its not the start to the new year that you had planned, however there are still 36o something days to turn this around so it does become your year...and for the record we are all here with you on every single one of those days.

The same applies for mermaid i really do hope that you are over the worst bit of the crash that we have all suffered...When the clocked struck 12pm on news years eve i prayed for all of us on this thread that the new year will bring us all happiness. Im not sure of your intentions now but i do hope that you continue on the road with us, although i totally understand if you dont. I have been thinking about you constantly....

4ever whoooo wobbly weeble, i have ordered you a pair of stablizers to help you through the month of Jan, how totally poop for you that you have so many dates, worrys and concerns to see in the new year with.
I hope by now your mum is on the mend and you have got your head around returning to work...at the very worst you will be there for a max of 15 or so weeks before your mat leave starts....
As we all know the run up to edd are always worse than the day. Just remember something lovely happened on your dads birthday so think of something equally as lovely to do on the 10th...prehapes graduate yourself into the big pants, your dad would be so pleased!

jools oh no not another one with a cold? bravo for getting to the gym though...the last time i went was to pick up dh from squash and i walked in carrying a mac donalds not the kind of work out that im used too...tbh im kind of looking forward to returning after the baby arrives, although its going to be strange to be able to see my feet again! Love your piccies on fb....padstow is lovely and the food at rick stiens looked to die for! iggy still has my hello kitty bucket to bury her head in so ill lend you my spade......

speaking of iggy i hope you are ok, its gone v quiet from you but im guessing you are keeping yourself busy before your scan. I have a very good feeling for you and beanie, pls come back and post as soon as you get the good news....

blue has it stopped snowing long enough to take babyblue out....im sat here watching the gardener tend the garden, the sun is shining and i cant imagen how cold it is back in the uk...im turning into a total expat brat! Although it has to be said the evenings are very cold now, about 15 degrees which when you have been used to 45 plus can feel as cold as the uk!

mm hoping you and the new addition are settling at home ok, love to the rest of the family too...i cant wait for an update of dd1 and what she made of the new lo.

buddha lol at you taking Ewan for 4 pub lunches already! I hope you are ok with the feeding situation now...loved the new pics by the way, too cute!

moon you sound really positive and as we all know that is half the battle won, loved your reasons not to be disapointed with the arrive of af....are you still staring at that gorgeous ring????

lbm i had tummy aches all through this pregnancy...so dont worry. Im so excited that you have your 20 week scan and are going to find out the sex. The whole name thing is really getting to me, i just cant make up my mind, now part of me wants to know if its a boy or girl so i can sort it out

cupcake when are you thinking of moving...we offically move in on the 15th, its only up the road but its still very stressful. Once dh family leaves im going to make a few trips back and forth while dh is at work, just taking a few bits and pieces so by the time the move date arrives we should only have one small van of furniture and the rest should all be there in its place or thats the plan anyway! Oh and i ehco the words of curly the time does go by a little faster once 20 weeks come and go...especially if you are going to be moving as well!

gg i cant believe you are next

and then its curly...are you both bouncing on your birthing balls to get the lo in position? I cant believe im third on the list...how the heck did that happen I was feeling fine being the 6th or seventh as i didnt need to think of the logistics of giving birth but now......best get massaging my perniuim!

neeko i took the tree down yesterday, its almost nice being back to normal...glad you managed to get the boiler fixed, by the sound of the weather reports you would of turned to ice by the morning if it wasnt done!

baking how was the party? I managed to last until 2am on a beach watching the very impressive fireworks from atlantis! Although staying up so late didnt agree with me as i woke the next day with the worst non hangover...felt like i had drunk a bottle of cheap vokda

monkey hello lovely! im with you in hoping that 2010 is a good un!

I finally have the house to myself...it sounds terrible but im wishing this week away so that dh family leave i have so much to do and i just cant do it with them here, also nesting instinct has kicked in big time, but its continual cleaning after the 7 of us so its making me tearful and mad when i finish and have to start again. The worst is i just cant leave it...

I have my 34 week check up on wednesday but apart from the there are no other plans, i kind of miss working!

Love to you all xxx

Neeko · 02/01/2010 22:24

Evening all.

MLS You've been so brave this week and I was so sure when you texted me the other day that this one was a keeper. I'm so sorry that you're having such a horrible time but I still believe that this is your year and I'm with you every step of the way.

4ever Hope you're wobbling a little less today. This time of year can easily send you from high to low without everything you've been through. Just remember every breath you take brings you a moment closer to that lo in your arms.

Jools well done on the gym front. Sending you a bucket and spade to help to further distract you in the sand.

Blue You sound so happy. I love it! So pleased that all is well with you.

Cupcake wow time is truly ticking on for you. Think you'd better start looking for your new pad soon.

Monkey hope you're well and feeling positive for a new start this year.

LBM I've really enjoyed your posts about everyone's reactions. Bet you're DD is loving being the one to break the news. Can't believe you're half way there already. All that head in the sand stuff seems to work!

Barbie Enjoy the peace and quiet tomorrow. Hope they're all looking after you.

Iggy not long now. we'll all be there with you.

Curly you sound really chilled. The holidays have clearly been good for you. When do you stop?

We came home last night to a broken boiler and a freezing house! It's a condenser boiler and the outflow for the steam had completely frozen. We'd resigned ourselves to an early night and dressing gowns to bed when my dad and his friend said they were coming to fix it! (That's my dad's line of work) Fortunately his friend had been chauffering family around all day so was the only non-pg person in the country who hadn't been drinking.Anyway, they rigged things up with the hose from an old hoover to by-pass the pipe so all the water from the boiler steam is now going into the utility room sink and we won't be able to do anything else until it thaws. So lovely to have Daddy to the rescue - my DH has a lot to live up to.

Also took the decorations down tonight so some sort of normality should return in the Neeko household tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is well.

barbie1 · 02/01/2010 16:09

Hello ladies...was so glad to finally get the computer and a quiet few minutes to wish you all a very happy new year and then i logged on to see more --shit== rubbish that poor mls has to go through

Tomorrow dh goes back to work and i think he has managed to talk his family into going out to the beach for the day so i promise i will be back on tomorrow to write a huge post.

Been thinking about you all constantly, speak soon love b xx

BuddhaBellySaggyPants · 02/01/2010 15:17

mls So sorry to hear your news, I bet you feel you can't take much more, i wish there was something I could say or do to make you feel better but there isn't

4everhopeful · 02/01/2010 15:16

Jools, blue, vjay, cupcake & monkey just have to say ur kind words made me cry, so thank you... Now the tears are for poor mls & the mental turmoil you must be in... X

MummyLovesSadie · 02/01/2010 15:11

Ironically I had a letter from my consultant on Wednesday morning to say my blood results were normal.

4everhopeful · 02/01/2010 15:07

Aw god mls this is so bloody cruel & unfair... I really hope u can see ur consultant asap & get some more tests maybe?

Joolsiam · 02/01/2010 14:43

So, so sorry MLS (

Life is just too cruel sometimes

monkeybumsmum · 02/01/2010 14:30

MLS How much more do you have to go through? I can't believe this is happening again. Am so so sorry xxx

MummyLovesSadie · 02/01/2010 14:26

Hello ladies

I was so excited on Monday to have my bfp, was going to wait a few days, possibly New Years Eve to tell you all but as the lines on my daily hpt's began to fade so did my hope.

The first Response I did this morning was very faint compared to the one I did mid-week. Looks like I'm having another cp. I stopped the progesterone a couple of night ago, I'm just waiting for the bleeding to start now.

Three mc's & two cp's in one year.

monkeybumsmum · 02/01/2010 14:17

Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope 2010 is a good 'un!

Ah 4ever so sorry to hear that January is so stacked full of bad dates for you I'm very sorry to hear about your dad, that must've been just awful. I really hope your mum feels better soon - it's such a worry when they're ill As you say you have become a master at staying strong - just concentrate on your little bean, and before you know it we'll be into February. The rest of the year has so many wonderful things to look forward to...

MLS Reading your post on NYE made me want to cry with you and give you a tight squeeze. I felt just like that last year. I truly hope this year is a brighter one for you x

Jools I have my fingers tightly crossed for you! Keeping your head in the sand (or snow) is a good option I reckon!

Blue Lovely to hear little Ben is filling out - it's amazing how quickly that happens! Hope your (.)(.)'s are holding up okay None of that toecurling left I hope...
DS did have a lovely Christmas thanks - I hope yours did too?

Right, must go but big waves to everybody else and hope you all have lovely weekends xxx

cupcakefairy · 02/01/2010 14:06

Afternoon lovelies and a slightly belated happy new year I was loving all the texts going round too and want to echo that you've all been an amazing support this year. It's so weird to think this time last year dh and I were all happy and excited about trying for a baby and would find out in just a couple of weeks I was pregnant... how much has changed in a year.
We spent yesterday walking at Ogmore beach with some friends and it was so beautiful.. really hoping this year will be magical forll of us.

Blue lovely to hear from you and hope Benjamin gets his walk soon! It's snowy and icy in Wales too; I'm really quite bored of it!

4ever sorry to ar about the big wobble understandable of course. For some reason the last few months I've been terrified by the idea of everyone's mortality too - particularly scared about losing my dh or any family and I haven't even lost a parent like you have so can't imagine what you must be feeling work is bound to be super daunting too but like blue says, it will start to fly by soon enough once you get back into the swing of it.

LBM I'll forgive you for having your scan before me we actually requested a Friday cos it's my day off so I should've been having it during the week really... Getting a teensy bit nervous in case they find anything untoward. We decided against the Downs screening earlier on so who knows what could be going on with little one.. fingers crossed. Been feeling a lot more movement the last couple of days and sure it won't be long before dh can feel it too

Moon so sorry about af coming but loving the positive list it's especially nice you get to enjo just being engaged without all the weebling of early pregnancy his year is the one for you!

Iggy and mermaid both a bit quiet... which is understandable of course. Thinking of you both and sending hair strokes.

Curly I'm not sure I want the time fly dh and I need to move house within the next couple of months and all just a bit daunting so I'd rather like it if time slowed down!!
Lovely that you got pressies for curlygirl and you're not counting your chickens, just being hopeful

gracie if you're there...how exciting that you're next!! I remember your bfp so clearly I don't know where the time's gone!!

neeko glad you've been enjoying quality time with dh and dd enjoy the last couple of days!

baking hope the party was fab...massively crossed fingers for you, MLS and jools and all the small panters. Moon of course we'll all be sticking around to 'bring up the rear' as you called it wouldn't miss it for the world. I don't like my ante-natal thread , would much rather hang out with you ladies

Right...off to the shops...

bluesatinsash · 02/01/2010 13:47

Happy New Year girls . Didn't manage to get on yesterday, but you were all in my thoughts...

4ever - January is a shit month, end of. Going back to work will seem v. hard but once you get past the first few days I'm sure it will help time move quicker as you will be busy and blooming and avoiding people wantng to pat your bump. Its just so that your bad dates fall together in Sept/Jan but this will be the last year that they will feel so acute as you will have your lo in June and no matter how maudlin you feel next Sept/Jan you can look down at your lo and see how far you've come. Your Dad will be so chuffed looking down on you and seeing how you're coping with this pg and he will be in the delivery room with you too. He will be handing out the ciggars up there in heaven .

Vjay - its bloody snowing AGAIN here!! Yes its pretty, and festive but enough already. I want to take Benjamin out for his first walk round our woods but its too dangerous in the ice..

MLS - really hope your big cry was cathartic. Its been one awful year for you but its gone now. New year new plans and hopes. Your strength and determination through all that life has thrown at you this year have been humbling to read, I just hope a BFP and sticky bean are just round the corner xx

Jools - keep that head in the sand and good resolution not to test early. You are so in tune with your cycle, a BFP must be en route soon

Moon apologies I forgot to say huge congratulations on getting engaged . What a lovely, lovely way to finish the year and hope its the first of many happy announcments coming from you .

Baby Ben is chubbing up nicely. Really loving his (.)(.) milk . I'm absolutely knackered but happyily so .

Big hugs to all my other cyber mummies and neices/nephews and yummy mummies to be, let this year see our friendships and brood grow and grow.

2010 - lets ROCK! xx

VJay · 02/01/2010 12:50

4ever don't apologise for your posts that's what we are all here for, to listen and support , January is quite a month for you but we are here to get you through it. That doppler helped keep me sane too, so so glad it is helping you too

jools keep you head in the sand, it would send you some but it's covered in snow at the moment, I could send you some snow, it's cold but numbing

mls hope you are feeling better today.

blue and mm hope you are all cosied up with your wee ones

Big waves to everyone

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 02/01/2010 12:41

Good morning 4Ever - I'm glad you seem a bit less weebly today and those who were on last night were able to help I think all I'd have said is to take every day as a new day and focus on getting through that - don't look ahead at upcoming dates but just focus on them when you get there.

I'm in awe of your posting ability - you remembered all those names in one post - respect !! I always forget someone

My turn to wobble and weeble - went to the gym this morning for the first time in a fortnight. My cold came back last night - horrendous cough - but I decided to go anyway and see if it made me feel better. It was hard and I had to take it really slowly.

Now home, ridiculously exhausted and have some all too familiar stomach cramps - am wondering if this is implantation, or I've dislodged a burrowing bean, or if I'm just imagining things

I've had thrush and my hair has stopped coming out in the shower / when I brush it - both sure early signs for me.

right, where is that bucket of sand ....

4everhopeful · 02/01/2010 12:35

Oh Monkey a ton of babydust for you too! Keep forgetting you are back! xx

4everhopeful · 02/01/2010 12:32

Oh LBM, Curly and Neeko thanks so much for your lovely words, I fear the horrormones really got the better of me... Ive been very emotional & teary, specially recieving Neeko & Curlys* tx last night, im wondering if its also where Im weaning myself off the cyclogest

You are all right, obviously I miss my dad every day, but my mum having this fluey thing has paniced me as thats what my dad was suffering with but he ended up having heart failure, it was all so sudden, after a very happy christmas, Im always full of angst & anxiety at this time of year now cos of it, but we will survive & stay strong cos Iv become quite a master at it!

Curly I do think the reality of going back to work has been worrying me more than I realise, last day of work was sept 24th! Im going back to a new job (had to give up the job I did & loved for 13yrs so didnt have to commute) a new team, desk, manager & database, its a little daunting to say the least! Ill cope though, I think I worked out my last day should be 7th May, & will work as many hols as poss (+ the odd sicky!) in between..

LBM you are right too, the whole principle of getting through this has been giving myself milestones, so once Im back at work, my dads anniversary will have passed, my angel babies are always with me anyway, my mum will be better, and then my 20 wk scan is on the 26th (at nearly 22wks!) and then Iv reached several more mental milestones.. I must say thanks again to Vjay for the doppler which has also kept me semi sane! x

Anyway, just wanted to say thank you so so so much for the support, Im a bit at the induldgence of my anxieties & insecurities, let this year be one of hope & good fortune for us all... Dh is back at work on monday so then I have all week to give each of you the tlc and time you all so deserve...

Big hug to Mermaid whos been constantly in my thoughts, wishful babydust for MLS Jools Bakingqueen and Moon, tummy pats for the growing bumps, hand holds for Iggys first scan on the 4th, and for LBM and Cupcakes 20 wk scans this week time has flown! Our next round of gradutates is fast approaching! Im so happy for you all - Curly, Barbie, Neeko, Gracie, Mrskate.. Lastly but not at all leastly, a fabulous new year & lifetime of health & happiness to our 7 graduates and yummy mummys MM, Blue, Annie, Buddha, Vjay, Sabs & Lion* xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CurlyBigPants · 01/01/2010 21:09

Big waves to VJ also

CurlyBigPants · 01/01/2010 21:00

mls hope you are feeling a bit better today. Hang in there honey. It's been a rough year but here's to a nice shiny bfp for you, Jools, moon and all the smallpanters xxx

jools excellent new years resolution. lol at your dp asking if you were preggers They can be quite perceptive sometimes but definitely keep that head in the sand. But get your list of reasons ready for why it doesn't matter if it's not this month just to make sure that you get that good news

moon engaged lady I'm smiling seeing your smiley faces in your posts. It's great to hear you sounding happier xxx

4ever big hugs honey. What a month of memories, it is only natural that you would be weebling. I think probably that the reality of going back to work is stressing you out more than you even realise. Just say to yourself that you will try it out for one day and if it is still stressing you out when you are there then the doctor /consultant will just have to sign you off. Nothing is more important than yours and baby 4ever's health Everything will be alright honey. You will be getting lots of kicks soon to remind you of how strong your lovely baby is

lbmthemystic good subterfuge last night with the drinking!! I'd never get away with that, my friends always watched me like a hawk Looks like we have a week of scans ahead. I think iggy is on Monday, and then yourself and cupcake later in the week.

mermaid as always I'm thinking of you and hoping that you and dh and ds are finding a way through this sad time xxx

littlebellsmum · 01/01/2010 20:16

Oh 4ever, with a month like that ahead, who wouldn't be feeling a bit wobbly!

I suppose the only wany to deal with it is in bite sized chunks - your dad's anniversary first, follwed by the LO anniversarys. Like every month it will pass and when it does, you'll be about 23 weeks and carrying a viable baby!

Work will be fine - you'll be spending most of your time talking baby anyway for a few weeks and when that has settled down, you'll be back into work. And of course, when you get back to work, you will have got past your dads anniversary and your mum will be all better.

Anyway, enough of littlebellsmum the mystic ( thats barbies job!). My dd told our best friends this morning and they were all stunned - happy but stunned!! My bf kept saying but you were drinking last night and I had to point out that or course I wasn't but no one noticed!!

Cupcake Yes, I think my scan is a day before yours on the 7th. Which seems a bit unfair as you are due first!

MLS Hope the morning sees you feeling better. Again 2009 was a **ty year for you and so, no wonder you shed a few tears. However 2010 will be much better..

Now need to go - mystic LBM is appearing again!!

4everhopeful · 01/01/2010 19:17

Apologies in advance for the me post, am feeling terribly weeblesome & thought Id take the opportunity to let it out whilst DH cooks dinner & Dr Who & Eastenders is recorded on sky+..

Im just full of January new year anxiety really, woke up thinking 1st Jan last year we got BFP no4, found out we lost it on 30th Jan & had erpc next day.. However I think my main overwhelming anxiety & comes from the fact its 4yrs since my dad died on 10th, so new year now always comes tinged with wierdness as it was out the blue & unexpected, so have been lamenting my own mortality & all those close which causes untold anxiety, am particuarly worried about my mum, who now has our flu (which Im now worried may have actually been swine flu, we have never been so ill)

I just want January over with already tbh! On the 23rd (nephews birthday) our 3rd baby would of been 1, and on my dads anniversary 2yrs ago we got BFP no2. Its all a bit wierd tbh, a quadruple whammy of horrid dates, sept is the same for me. Prob also not helped that I have to go back to work on the 11th which Im dreading.. Of course all this is underlined by my constant anxiety that this little baby inside of me is going to be alright..

Sorry folks, im just a big emotional hormonal wobbly weebling mess right now, needed to get it all out, sorry for the self indludgent me post, think I feel better for getting it straight in my head & in writing...

Lotsa love x x x x x
