Ok, here we are, a new thread to see us into the next decade, and to celebrate more BFP's, growing bumps and new arrivals, and to enjoys those already here

vjay dh wants to send me off to a spa or something but to be honest i really really want to do nothing but chill and relax in the peace...he has talked me into at least going to have a meal and watching avater in 3d. I think it will be the last time i go to the cinema before baby arrives...2 hours is just too long to sit still for!

VJay · 04/01/2010 14:09

Teething it is then

sabs not heard from you for a while, how are you doing?

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 04/01/2010 13:39

DS1 loves sweet potato and has done since he was weaned. I'm sure Ajay will scoff it up! He was the same too re: teething. Drooled through bibs like there was no tomorrow from about four months, chomped down on everything but no teeth til seven months .

VJay · 04/01/2010 13:15

blue I put vm's name in on amazon a few months ago to see if another book came up but it was just her fisrt one still, but it's now in paperback.
Ajay has had potato today but he wasn't too keen so I will mix it with some carrot tomorrow, which he loves. He also likes pear. That's it so far but I have some apple all done ready for him to try soon. I've also ordered some sweet potato and swede to come on my next shop ready for me to cook and puree, yum
As for teething, he is dribbling a lot and is always chomping down on things so I think it's teething, what do you all think? DS1 started at about this time but didn't cut his first tooth until he was 7 months.

VJay · 04/01/2010 13:08

Wow the big 30 barbie are you doing anything special?

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 04/01/2010 13:05

Good Luck Iggy - not that your bean needs it! Bet it did you good being away from tinternet over hols

MLS - have another boing from me . Lovely to see you back and full of that mlsdetermination

Mermaid - did you find the uniform? Hope getting back into the daily routine helps you through the next few days and weeks. Villagemum is often in my thoughts and I wonder if she ever got her second book finished...

Monkey - thinking about you today honey. Hope your DS's op goes smoothly, am I right in saying grommets are to help him hear? Big hug to you and hope he recovers quickly x

Hi Annie - yes I've dipped my toe in the post-natal thread. It a bit daunting as there are so many people but will persevere! Sorry to hear your scar has been sore and weeping. I've not looked at mine but other than initial bruising its fine. As MLS said, at least our fango's are intact . Ahem. I can't drive til Feb but DH is off until 18th Jan so that's a great help.

Vjay - is Ajay teething already?! Yowser! How is the weaning going?

Cupcake - how exciting getting a new house before lo arrives . Any more thoughts on names?

Thanks for your reassurance about co-sleeping. Benjamin was snuggled in with me again last night and only needed one night feed at 3.40am then that was him until 7am. do think tanking him up in the evening helps . Did our trip to retail park and had a proud push of the pram round Homebase and Comet!

DH and DS are off to IKEA to get more toy storage for DS. DS is in his new big boy car seat - it can go in front seat with seat belt so him and DH are off like a couple of truckers singing Liverpool footie songs .

No sign of snow budging - hurrumph...

barbie1 · 04/01/2010 12:15

thanks iggy...if you cant dont worry, i will just have to wake up to the good news tomorrow

iggypiggy · 04/01/2010 12:12

barbie I'll try to text someone quickly who might be near a computer? It takes an hour to get home from there... so I prob can't post till later...

last ante-natal

cupcakefairy · 04/01/2010 12:11

Hi girls..well it is freezing cold and frosty here in Wales and I am contemplating crawling under my desk where there is a heater to curl up for the rest of the day
I've had a 'well who ate too many mince pies!' comment this morning too! Tummy is getting scarily big.

Iggy good to hear from you again and glad you had a lovely phone-free getwaway will be thinking of you at 6 and please try not to worry about lack of symptoms. I barely felt sick or anything before 12wk scan and just literally could not believe there was a baby inside me until I saw it on that screen. I'm sure everything will be fine.
I'm glad we're not the only crazy ones who will be moving before baby too

Moon I was so smiley reading your post; that is so so ace that you're finding some peace and beginning to believe you will have your little one...yipppeeeeee

monkey really hope your ds is ok today and more to the point, that you are!!

mermaid hope getting back into routine is ok today and takes your mind off things.

Neeko I know! I was shocked to run out of chocolate too but turns out dh and I scoffed more than we realised! We still have lots of other goodies though

Jools thanks for letting us know about scorpio I had been wondering about her as her edd was around the same time as blue's...hope she's ok. Am singing the stay away af song for you!

MLS boo hiss to af but glad you are onwards and upwards as always, what an inspirational lady you are.

Hi Curly and everyone else, hope you are managing to keep warm!

barbie1 · 04/01/2010 12:09

hey vjay im one of those inconsiderate people born in jan! its my 30th on the 11th and i cant wait to get my new ring...

mls thats the spirit! well done...

monkey hope the hospital visit goes well tomorrow...

iggy you have been so very brave getting through christmas and not giving into the pressure of an early scan...6pm your time is 10pm my time, i will stay awake for as long as possible to read your good news..

Off to ante natal this eve, its the last one....

iggypiggy · 04/01/2010 12:06

vjay thank you too! You sound v. cheery today.

VJay · 04/01/2010 12:03

BOIING BOIING BOIING hello bouncy mls that's the spirit , good for you

monkey hope ds is alright bless him, not sure what gromets are but they go in his ears don't they?

iggy good luck for your scan today

blue I have Ajay in with me sometimes, it's nice and snuggley plus I get some sleep. Generally he's not a bad sleeper but there is the odd night when he's fractious due to teething (i think ).

mm hello

lbm dh came with me shopping and pushed ds2 in the buggy for me, ds1 was playing round at my neighbours, so we had a nice couple of hours in Inverness, very cold though

jools can you hear me with your head in the sand ? I think it's a good place to be, it's worked for iggy and lbm

just had to post a load of cards and presents to all those inconsiderate people born in January

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 04/01/2010 11:53

curly thanks lovely - hope you ok? You feeling any better?

jools thank you too, you still sound v. good - hope you feel it. x

mls so pleased AF arrived you sound v. positive too. have everything croseed for you for this cycle xx

Joolsiam · 04/01/2010 11:38

Great to hear you so positive MLS

I must admit, I found 6 week mc far far easier to deal with than the 12 week one - not so many hormones floating around ...

Wishing you lots of luck for this cycle

Still got everything crossed for you Iggy

CurlyBigPants · 04/01/2010 11:32

iggy thinking of you today. Hope I haven't missed you before you go. Here's my hand xxx

Mls I'm so sorry to hear your news but lovely to hear that you are bouncing back This year it is going to happen - and soon xxx

lots of love to everyone. I'll catch up properly at lunchtime hopefully

MummyLovesSadie · 04/01/2010 11:14

Just a quick one from me for now. I'm bouncing back, B-O-I-I-N-G, just like I always do. Af arrived today so I can get bd'ing again in a week. Thanks for all of your good wishes.

I'll post properly later.

iggypiggy · 04/01/2010 11:09

Thanks for the thoughts girls - v. much appreciated. xx

monkey hope your DS's op goes well - must be such a worry - am bad enough when my dog had to stay at the vets - cannot immagine how I would be with a child going to hosp!

lbm denial is actually quite nice - I can imagine leaving there will be scary for me...

annie can't believe he is 6 weeks already! you sound v. happy.

mm if you do happen to pop on here - am v. much liking the name Nieve - how do you pronounce it though? Cos I googled and it comes up with different ways - when I first saw it I assumed it was a differnt spelling of Niamh, but seems am wrong on that!

anniebigpants · 03/01/2010 22:34

Happy New Year ladies, thanks for the texts recieved on NYE.

MLS-Im gutted for you that this has happened again, sending you lots of love.

Mermaid-Thinking of you, you are doing really well after all you have been through, sending love and hairstrokes.

Iggy-Thinking of you for your scan tomorrow, though im sure all will be just great.

MM-Congrats on the birth of Nieve, lovely name, hope you recovering well.

Blue-Hope the lovely Ben is well, i must admit i do take Ellis in bed with me occasionally, and i hardly ever put him down during the day , im more precious with Ellis than i ever was with Oliver and he was my PFB. Good to see you on the post natal thread im on too!

Jools-Keeping fingers tightly crossed for you.

Love to everyone else, im having some precious 'mummytime' now that everyone is fast asleep. Im hoping Ellis suprises me again by doing a 5 hour stint between feeds like he did last night.
Got Ellis weighed last week and he is 11lb excactly now,hes got lovely chubby cheeks, and he smiles at me a lot now, i could just melt. Got my 6 week postnatal check on Wednesday, those 6 weeks have flew by. My C section scar is still sore and is weeping, ive had swabs taken to check for infection but they came back clear, that was over 2 weeks ago, oh well.
Will hope to get on more now festivities are over,DS! should be back at nursery tomorrow but we have so much snow here and side roads are trecherous, so am keeping him off nursery tomorrow as dont feel safe driving esp with CS scar playing up.

monkeybumsmum · 03/01/2010 20:21

Just popping in quickly whilst getting stuff sorted - ds is having grommets put in tomorrow morning, so am trying to keep occupied and not stress out too much. I know it's a routine procedure but am terrified something will go wrong.

Anyway, Blue hope you had a lovely time taking little Ben out, bet he looked gorgeous in his pram, you must've been so proud! That's amazing he slept so long - what a good start I brought ds in the bed with me at some point through the night for about the first six months, and he has always been a great sleeper and there were no probs getting him to sleep on his own. Just enjoy snuggling up to Ben whilst he's still too small to boot you out the bed

mermaid You're doing so well, you really are. It's horrible having to get on with RL after what you've been through. Am sending you the tightest squeeze xxx

Iggy Huge amounts of luck with the scan tomorrow, although I hope you won't need it! You're bound to be worrying about symptoms or lack of, but I bet your little one is tucked safely away in there.

Neeko You are one lucky lady to have such a fab dad That's a nightmare to come home to a broken boiler! Hope you're having a nice bath!

I don't seem to have the time to manage to write to everyone but I am thinking of you all! I have to go and pack a hospital bag now, haven't a clue what to take... If I'm not on for a few days it's because I have a rather clingy ds, take care x

littlebellsmum · 03/01/2010 20:18

Ah, normality is returning - lots of posts!

I'll try and do a long post whilst DH is reading a long bedtime story to the DC's!

MLS Bugger, Bugger, Bugger. So sorry this is happening again. But 2010 will be your year- lets be honest, it's got to be better than 2009

Vjay Shopping - very impressive. Was DH in charge of the DC's? I'm tempetd to go to the shops tomorrow but I'm not sure I can face it as I'd need to take the DC's ( last day before school)

General comment to all those in the north - snow? You still have it ours went on Christmas day, we haven't managed any snow men or sledging and so am feeling that we've missed out!

moon - it's lovely to hear such a happymoon . What a lovely df to keep asking if the ring is ok!

iggy good to hear from you and yes, as I said the sand is good. The only problem is when you do finally take your head out, pregnancy is a scary place!! I'm sure tomorrow will be fine - with one of my pregnancies I had no sickness at all and have a healthy 4 yr old as a result. Looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow.
as for what shocked my parents the most - answer has to be both. My mum is not looking forward to contacting her BF as she thinks it suggests that she doesn't know her own daughter! We've never told them early, even with DD, I think it was about 16 weeks ( saved it for a 60th birthday present for mum!)

cupcake I hadn't seen that buggy before - it looks good! And yes, I'm also terrified about my scan later the the week. I'm not feeling many movements I don't think but maybe I'm just thick skinned!

blue I wouldn't worry about having ben in with you whilst he's so small - for the first 3 or 4 weeks, we had our DS in with us most nights as it was the only way to get any sleep. From then, he has always slept in the cot with no problems

good to hear from you mermaid - snap on the uniform. Hope the nasty physical stuff has finished for you by now.

barbie I loved your long post! I have lots of symypathy with you having people staying for so long, no matter how nice they are. My MIL was with us for a week and that was enough ( and we do get on fine). I hope that they are helping around the house - you with that lovely bump and all. I also can't believe you are at 34 weeks - time has just flown!

LovelyNeekothenotsocoldanymore What a lovely dad! I have the opposite situation -useful DH and useless ( but lovely) dad! And yes DD and DS are loving telling everyone about the baby but they seem to have forgotten recently and we need to remind them! Also, no one believes them!! They told some good friends of ours at lunch yesterday which was very funny - these are antenatal friends from DD and they have 2 dcs like us. The DH really wants more but my friend has hideous pregnancies and just can't face another one. Needless to say - he was very excited and jealous and she wanted to kill me!! However, she is now searching her garage for all the baby equipment she can find!!

monkeysbum Good to hear you had a good christmas - if DS did, you must have done!

HappyJools I'm sure there is plenty of sand to go round. I've got a damp sand pit full of it - very nice and warm and highly recomended!

4ever I can imagine that that doppler must seem like a lifeline. I am a teensy bit jealous - untill I start getting big kicks, I'm not going to believe it's real!

curly I only got away with not drinking for three reasons - firstly party rather than dinner and so I kept losing drinks, secondly no one expected me to be pregnant and finally bf was too tied up with cooking to notice my lack of drinking! Not long now untill we meet curlygirl!

budha Good to hear our cyber nephew is filling out nicely but the frequent feeds must be hard work

BakingQueen Happy new year to you too - you also sound in a good place for 2010.

And , whilst the story was long, it wasn't that long and so, I need to go and make room in cupboards for christmas presents!

So, hello to all those I've missed esp gracie and MrsKate who are probably lurking whilst enjoying all that Christmas choclate!!

Joolsiam · 03/01/2010 20:09

Lovely to hear you sounding so much happier Moon

Mermaid - glad you popped in - I was worried about you ... Hope the school run goes OK tomorrow and you've unearthed all that is necessary

Iggy - will be thinking of you tomorrow - everything tightly crossed.

Barbie - can you send us some of that sun ?? It is freezing here No snow in the South East, but I think it is on its way in time for the great return to work / school tomorrow. I've been off for 2 weeks and have got used to being a lady of leisure - don't want it to end

Blue - hope your outing with baby Ben went OK he sounds like a little angel - letting you sleep till 5am

Hello to Vjay, LBM, Neeko, Cupcake, Monkey, MM and baby MM ...

Remember Scorpio, who was on here a while ago and we got BFP's around the same time back March ? Well, I think she is now called Scorps and I spotted some threads on active convo's - sounds like she had a lovely little girl but has ended up back in hospital

If you are lurking, I hope things are getting better x x x

As for me - - AF may or may not arrive on Thursday ....

Neeko · 03/01/2010 19:50

Having a quick lurk before a bath but wanted to jump in to join Moon's group hug. So pleased to hear you've found peace.

Vjay There's no should be size after a baby. 9 months on 36 9 months off and all that. Such high tech boilers we have too.

Mermaid glad to hear from you. Hope you've found the uniform and are easing back into RL.

Iggy I'll be thinking of you at 6pm tomorrow.

Cupcake No chocolate left? Sending you a truckload of ours.

Barbie Hope a day to yourself has helped.

Blue Hope Ben was suitably ooohed and aahed over. I'm so over the snow and cold too.

DH back to work tomorrow so RL taking over again. Boo!Hiss!

Off for bath now. Take care all and especial big hugs for MLS and Mermaid - two special ladies who deserve much better. x

VJay · 03/01/2010 16:27

Hi mermaid lovely to 'see' you, I've been thinking of vm too, and want to wish her a happy new year, just incase she ever pops on to lurk

blue yes my grill up is my alternative to a fry up

moon you sound so so happy, long may it continue for you hun

iggy will be thinking of you tomorrow at your scan

Been shopping and have bought myself a lovely coat from debenhams, it's a size bigger than it should be , but I can wear lots of jumpers under it next year

OP posts:
BlueMoon1981 · 03/01/2010 14:48

oh mls i am so for you too, can't say anything that hasn't already been said, but have a huge big squeezy hug from me.

mermaid its lovely to see you, squeezy hug for you too, you are so brave.

barbie loving the mega post, well done! and yes i am still gazing at my ring df keeps saying to me is it ok?! also to add to my not being pg list is that i can eat all the brie in the fridge...

more snow, i'm bored of it now too. its very pretty but i hate having to drive to work in it, and having to scrape all the ice and snow off before i can even get in. its been very cold too. poor dogs haven't been walked in a good week or so due to the slippy roads and pavements, just glad we have a garden for them even if it is small.

feeling quite happy and contented at the minute (not just due to the ring no matter how gorgeous it is!), i feel i've come a long way in a short space of time, the last few months have been horrendous and i thought i was losing the plot. thank you to every single one of you for keeping me sane and letting me say what i needed to, and for supporting me through some dark days when i couldn't see the light. i have hope now, and i never thought i'd say that. i am very hopeful that we will have our little one some day still brings tears to my eyes to say that, because i can't forget the two we lost, but i have made that step forward and with your continued help i will keep moving forward. group hug? xxxxx

iggypiggy · 03/01/2010 14:45

Hello all - many apologies for radio silence and Happy New Year to all of you.

I have been in Dorset in a village with no mobile signal at all - which was a good thing I think!

I have also been keeping my head firmly in the sand - thanks to barbie's hello kitty bucket and with mermaid's shell decorations. It has been easier to ignore everything than to stress, if am honest...

mm congratulations!! So exciting to have another cyber neice!

mermaid have been thinking about you loads - I hope you are throwing yourself into the real world and looking after yourself. xxx

MLS so sorry to read of your rubbish start to the year - also please look after yourself xxx

moon congratulations on the engagement!! I absolutely loved planning my wedding! Also will be hoping sod's law means you get your BFP very soon.

jools hope you ok?

4ever sorry that Jan is such a hard month for you - but this Jan it will be different - 2010 is your year!

cupcake we also planning on moving house - also got new puppy booked (due to be born any day - collect in March) - all planned ages ago... but am not changing any plans or even thinking about changing them until after the scan.. but will def be looking to buy a new house whatever.

lbm were the parents shocked in general or shocked that you are due so soon?!

Neeko your retro day sounds excellent - I love beaches!

Hi to all of the new mummies and to everyone else - am back to work tomorrow and will be able to lurk post more!

Oh yes - I have my scan tomorrow at 6pm (has to be evening so DH can make it too) - am in denial, terrified etc. I stopped feeling unwell ages ago and so have obviously wondered about how good a sign that is... but then again - I've had no bleeding and I still have some other 'symptoms' but is all such a worry - I can't get my hopes up.... but really really hoping that my body isn't letting me down and that it would let me know if something was wrong... so I'll probably be a wreck tomorrow...
