Morning

Love the thought of applause for boobs

Have you come down off cloud nine yet Iggy ?

Mermaid - please pop in and let us know how you are doing

4Ever - hope you got some sleep

Neeko - hope you have got your snow day . It is tipping it down here. I am logged on to work network at home, still in PJ's and considering going back to bed as I am still full of cold (it keeps coming back, which is most unusual for me - makes me wonder if my immune system is a little busy at the moment

I resisted testing this morning. Not sure what to think really - very nauseous first thing and boobs still big and sore - normally they'd be going down by now as AF is I think due tonight or tomorrow.

Had a teensy wipe of blood this morning, which could be my pre-AF warning, or could be implantation blood - I had this in Sept 08 with BFP no 2 - bleeding the day AF was due so I held off testing for a while.

MLS - my logic is simply that seeing AF arrive is not as bad as peeing on a stick and seeing a BFN, so I'd rather wait - it isn't willpower, just a knowledge of my psychology and how best to manage disappointment !

Hello's to NotlongtogonowBarbie, Vjay, Sabs, Annie, LBM, Monkey, GG, Kate, Lion if you're lurking and anyone else really important to me that I've probably forgotten [blush[

iggypiggy · 06/01/2010 10:22

Morning all!

Thanks for all your lovely comments - am alittle less hyper today but am still v. cheery and excited.

moon please to test - just to be sure

4ever oddly I haven't been able to sleep on my back for weeks - it feels bad and makes me feel sick... but always sleep on my side anyway, really... I'd been thinking it was odd cos I didn't think that would kick in until much later!

jools any news?

mermaid think of you very much at the moment xxx

MLS love image of houseful and everyone in rags I can't think beyond one at the moment!

gracie v. exciting about George getting ready for a break out!

neeko do you have snow day?! I would be v. jealous!

blue more applause for boobs! Good news!

lbm hope your scan goes well - even though am much behind you, I think i may have to invest in some new trousers soon... they are getting v. uncomfortable!

cupcake When you going to move? have you started looking?

barbie Hoep your sore throat gone?

Big waves to everyone else xx

4everhopeful · 05/01/2010 23:55

Cant sleep so lurked! Moon think weve all been there with those thoughts, test for ur sanity!..... Blue i have fab mamas & papas mat leggings aka my simon cowell trousers so very comfy over christmas, need more & wearing with a variety of long tops! ......Neeko like mls says we'd live in rags for the chance of a family, im 'only' 35 in march, dh 32 in feb, married in 07, preg immediately, just over 2yrs & 5preg later we really want at least 2 dc, dh one of 4 boys, so yea, money is irrelevent, iv dreamt of having a family all my life!

MummyLovesSadie · 05/01/2010 22:48

Just test but be prepared for a bfn. I honestly admire everyone who can hold off from testing for like 85 days but I can't! I'm glad that cheap tests are so freely available as I'd have driven myself insane without them. I'd rather know than allow my mind to play games with me.

Hey but that's just my opinion!

BlueMoon1981 · 05/01/2010 22:37

mls dont encourage me! is it physically possible though? wondered if it could maybe explain my 2 weird cycles where they were both very late.

MummyLovesSadie · 05/01/2010 22:17

Moon just do the test then go online & buy 20 more for £4!

MummyLovesSadie · 05/01/2010 22:16

Moon I've sometimes had some weird symptoms even when af has started & I've actually done hpt's because I've thought exactly the same as you. The only way to stop your mind going crazy is to test.

Well done for Blue's boobs, way to go! I love the way you say it feels final now you have Benjamin. I'll be eternally thankful that I managed to have even one dc but I just want that feeling of completion that you have.

Neeko Money doesn't come into it my dear, I'd wear rags & eat gruel for the rest of my life if it meant I could have a houseful of children!

LBM It's not bigger trousers you need it's proper maternity trousers!

Well we've had about 4 inches of snow in the last 3 hours and we've had no snow since before Christmas - bring it on!

BlueMoon1981 · 05/01/2010 22:13

hi gracie thank you anyway, maybe i will just ignore it! i do have 1 pg test in the house for emergencies, whatever one of those is.

GracieGirl · 05/01/2010 21:59

Evening Moon, erm I don't know. Worth doing a test if you have one spare? It might put your mind at rest. Sounds like you need a temping expert to advise. Sorry that's not much help.

BlueMoon1981 · 05/01/2010 21:43

if anyone is still around, some advice please if any of you girls can help?

i have pretty much finished af today but the last few days have had very tingly boobs and painful lower back ache which hurts so much its going down my legs. what the hell does this mean?! if i was on the 2ww i would have convinced myself i was pg, but obviously i am not, but then i started thinking about those stories from girls who never realise they are pg because af still came every month.... arrgghhh

on the positive side, so much snow i will def be staying at home tomorrow, and yes neeko i virtually brought my whole desk with me so have enough work for weeks if i need it!

Neeko · 05/01/2010 21:19

Blue here's another round of applause for your boobs Well done to both you and BabyBen

I'm wating on an appointment with the physio for the pins and needles so will hopefully get help for the pelvic pain then too. I've started using my birthing ball more often which is helping and I'm just trying to be more aware of how I move etc. Hope it's not a case of too little, too late.

Ok, I think I've pretended to myself that I'm doing work for long enough so I'm off to bed. Night all.

bluesatinsash · 05/01/2010 20:46

Evening laydeez,

right off we go...

MLS - I took baby asprin from Feb last year and fell pg in the April. Met with the Gynae consultant who did my ERPC in the January and he recommended I took it from the month BEFORE I conceived. Of course you can't know that so I started taking it the following month. Also had two acupuncture sessions with my GP and turned up for the third one to register my pregnancy . So GO FOT IT!! We always wanted two DC but it does feel 'final' now that Benjamin is here. Like Neeko - my stress levels just couldn't take another pg and i'm the youngest of three girls and all the family dymanics that entails. Do feel a little that I'll never have a daughter as I was such a girly girl, into my ballet, dancing, clothes etc. but I am truly blessed to have my DS's and I'm not greedy .

Iggy - delighted for you and your successful scan. Its all coming good xx

Neeko - a snow day - fingers crossed . I couldn't sleep on my back at all after first trimester and its such a joy being able to again. re: Pelvic pain, I found sitting really upright at night helped but getting up and moving about during the day helped too. I did have a tuby grip last time around but couldn't be bothered with it this time. You can get one form the Physio. Take heart that it vanishes after lo is born - yay!

LBM - your pg is marching on! Are you finding out flavour at scan?

Barbie - tall buildings scare me . I was in New York in 2003 and just couldn't imagine the height of the twin towers. DH had been there when they were still standing and gave me a reference point against another building and i just couldn't get my head around how tall they were so can't imagine the height of the new one in Dubai.

4ever - I dyed my hair throughout my pg with DS1 and had it professionally dyed and highlighted twice this time around.. That's so lovely you moving to big pants on your DDad's anniversary. Have you got some funky maternity work clothes ready for Monday?

Cupcake - lol at your 'geek alert' . Its an interesting stat re: 5 out of 7 graduates having c-sections... . Think the average is 20%.. They happen for so many different reasons but the vast majority of babies are still delivered vaginally so get massaging that perenium .

Gracie - 3/5 engaged - wow! He/she will just slip out!

Jools - on your behalf

Health Visitor dropped by today (while I was on the loo with Sunday Papers ). Benjamin has put on 10oz and is now 8lb 13oz - she was very impressed at his weight gain and gave my boobs a round of applause .

Neeko · 05/01/2010 20:33

How will you manage financially 4ever and MLS? I know that babies are relatively cheap once you have all the stuff but the older they get, the more they cost. (Do I just worry too much?)

4everhopeful · 05/01/2010 20:25

lbm im i want to feel movement so badly! Im wobbly cos havin twinges & pelvic bone pain ...... mls said this before but my mum was 42 when she had me i want as many as poss & will ttc again straight away!

Neeko · 05/01/2010 20:20

Hey LBM here's my hand for the scan. Once you've had it and have told your boss you can relax your tummy-and baby- into nice, stretchy mat pants

Neeko · 05/01/2010 20:16

Hey MLS I'm definitely going to count my blessings with two for lots of reasons. MY SIL has 3 and she has really struggled despite being the eldest of 5 herself. I've been such a basketcase this time and really not on the ball as a mummy/wife/teacher/friend/humanbeing so I think to actively plan another would be lunacy for me.
That being said, if it happened accidentally I'd count my blessings again and get on with it. At least we'd have a room for each of them which would surely help with all the fighting!

littlebellsmum · 05/01/2010 20:12

Ohh, good gossip, MLS 3 is definetly our limit. DH thought 2 was fine and will not be persuaded above that!

littlebellsmum · 05/01/2010 20:10

Iggy great, great news . Hope you are still on cloud nine!

neeko Strangly both dd and ds forgot about the baby - it seemed to work telling them before Christmas as they have forgotten about it and have stopped telling the world!

Jools The biggest gold star ever but only if you don't test untill at least the weekend - you like the sand just as much as I do!

Tiggergirl ( or MLStheexpert) accupuncture sounds great ( as do you!)

Finally, my scan is now in 2 days . I still haven't told my boss and I am in no doubt that LO is fine as today I put on my normal trousers for work and LO spent the day digging its elbow or heels into my to complain at being cooped up! Size 14 trousers here we come!!

MummyLovesSadie · 05/01/2010 20:08

Neeko I know you said a few months ago that you'd never want to go through all of this again & would stop at 2 lo's but do you still feel the same? I'd love as many as I can possibly cram into the few child-bearing years I have left but obviously I'd be more than happy just to be able to have one more.

Sian Williams you are my inspiration! Hey I learned a tidbit of interesting gossip about her today - her first two children are with her ex-husband. When they were still married she told him that she was pregnant with her third child & that it was not his but someone who she had been having an affair with at the BBC & he is now her husband ! Who'd have thought it!

Neeko · 05/01/2010 19:52

I can't seem to keep away.

4ever I did know about the sleeping on the back thing and have slept on my side since the 2nd trimester. Many women actually faint if they lie on their backs, but serously it just makes me snore! Wouldn't risk cutting off vital nutrients to bub though. My physio says on back is fine as long as you're propped up by tons of pillows. Sorry to hear about bleeding but relieved it's just the piles of pregnancy.

Cupcake It clearly takes a geek to know one Enjoy bookgroup. I'm planning on charting again once the baby gets into a routine. I found it fascinating and I'm NEVER going back on the pill so DH will either have to brave the snip or do without!

MLS My tummy has always been too wobbly for a piercing if that makes you feel any better.

Moon Hope you brought enough work home for a few days as this weather doesn't look set to stop.

I see the police are recommending you keep of the roads. Looks like we could be at a standstill tomorrow

4everhopeful · 05/01/2010 19:25

Hi moon & cupcake ..... Just popping back in cos x post with lovely gracie yest, knew id missed someone! So excited to hear george is practically engaged! Pack that bag asap girl! Make sure you please keep us posted wont you?! ....also big hello to mrskate & boris too! X

cupcakefairy · 05/01/2010 19:06

Evening ladies, quick stop from me as off out to book group !

gracie lovely to hear from you and hope party was fun...how fab about The George starting to engage!! Yay! I got freaked out watching ER last night, the one when Abby has her baby 10 weeks early...EEK. I'm suddenly worried dh and I may have a lot less time than we think!!

MLS was lovely to read your post and I'm excited about the acupuncturist too!

iggy HIGH FIVE for the good scan, so excited for you!!

4ever sorry to hear about scary bleeding glad it was nothing to worry about in the end though! And yay for your impending graduation! V interesting about the sleing on the back thing, thanks for that info!

slightly hi are you a weeble too? Come, chat! We love new friends

jools wait til Thursday!! (but silently excited for you!)

neeko I don't think you're sad about the chart, my bf and I look at each others' charts all the time to analyse love it. I think it's just brilliant to chart cycles and think so many women's fertilty probs could be sorted by doing it but docs don't seem to get that and put people straight on drugs sorry..will try not to rant

mermaid more massive hugs for you xxx

ok, gotta dash! sorry to anyone I missed.

BlueMoon1981 · 05/01/2010 18:28

iggy congratulations on a fab scan

jools oooh i have everything crossed for you, its about time things started looking up for you

we have loads of snow! took me 2 hours to get to work, usually takes me max 45 mins, i went in and picked up some work and came home again! got stuck up my hill and had to be dug out and pushed up

4everhopeful · 05/01/2010 17:23

Thanks mls ill have a look for one of those then! X

MummyLovesSadie · 05/01/2010 17:01

4ever you need to buy a pregnancy belly bar made out of PTFE, you'll find loads on Ebay. It's flexible & longer than a normal bar. I don't wear anything in my piercing now as since I had dd my belly resembles a blancmange.
