omg iggy you have a baby in your tummy
yummy puppy also. In for a penny in for a pound. It will be good for the babys immunity.

mermaidspurse · 06/01/2010 14:05

I met a completley mad girl at a party a month or so ago with a small preggy tummy dressed from head to foot in that horrible bright yukky pink who was obsessed with the fact that she hoped she was having a girl. Hope is not strong enough actually It was alllllll she talked about. To the extent that she was only eating sweet things cos that way she would get a girland

complete fruit cake.

She was watching my ds and his cousin as though they were some particually virulent form of plague fearful that they may pass on a bit of testostrazone(sp)

guess what she is having? I am bad.

iggypiggy · 06/01/2010 14:00

pssssst mermaid - I have a pic of labardor puppies on my profile... - also I do have a scan pic up there - so maybe not look if you not want see that tho...

I am supposed to be getting one of those lovely labs in the pic in March - but am now unsure as to the sanity of such a thing (already have one dog)... Guide dog puppy sounds v. lovely!

mermaidspurse · 06/01/2010 13:56

apostrophes should be banned

yep snowed in sort of, one flake and the county grown to a stop.
ds and me have just had grilled ruby gratefruit all that was missing was a glace cherry.

barbie forgot about your appoint. sorry but lovely that all is ok you didn't ask the flavour?

moon you really sound like you have turned a huge emotional corner and its lovely to hear - sorry about that evil evil witch.

4ever god I missed the bleeding bit, sorry, sorry. You must have been panicked beyond reason for a while.
Its good to see you have a scan tomorrow just to keep you going another week. slowly slowly you are getting there

Lbm hope you find time to get some nice comfy 'slacks' and enjoy waving at your bean tomorrow too.

I have done something really, really naughty and applied to look after a guide dog puppy. dh will need a large bottle of whisky poured down his throat and me and ds will have to really up the defcom heart string approach.

ig lovely to see you sitting on cloud nine[

On the right time to have a child? its never the right time and it invariably works out.

cupcake you will be fine its good sign really maybe to see you wobble now rather than later. It sounds like you have lots and lots of support around you and all your cyber aunts will be here too

Being pregant is a time when you naturally want to feel settled so you are bound to feel a bit 4 in the morningish.x

4everhopeful · 06/01/2010 13:48

BlueMoon1981 · 06/01/2010 13:48

cupcake it wasn't meant to be directed at anyone, but if it helps then thats fine! I just meant i have known people who hadnt planned their los or couldnt afford to have them but things always worked out ok in the end.

and i love my df its still a novelty to me, and i grinned to myself yesterday when he referred to me on the phone to someone that i was his fiancee

Neeko · 06/01/2010 13:36

Which is another excellent thing you'll be able to do for this baby Cupcake - you'll have a telly/film reference for everything!

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2010 13:34

x-post neeko ...hi. So sad for you not getting a snow day! Love the Friends reference

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2010 13:32

Hi mermaid

moon I love love love how your df isn't just df, he's df well done on the stoic non-testing and you will get your baby. I love what you said about 'when you've got a baby on the way you just manage'.. you're totally right and thank you for reminding me of it (even though I know it wasn't directed at me personally!)

Neeko you are too lovely... but I am the actual massivest worry wart and that will probably never go away. Meh.

Neeko · 06/01/2010 13:26

Lunchtime!

Barbie that poor lady. Hope she finds a support network like ours.

Jools all sounds promising.

Mermaid welcome back! you've been missed. How are you? (No head tilt a la Richard from Friends, I promise!)

4ever pelvic pain will be to do with weight of baby and the relaxin. get a pillow between your knees at night. Good luck for your scan tomorrow and sorry I forgot you earlier.

Moon You sound much calmer now. I like the new Mooon

BlueMoon1981 · 06/01/2010 13:10

barbie we x posted down to the second! poor lady, no the pain never goes away and i think it would hurt me just as much to see someone else going through it. glad your lo is in the right place

Joolsiam · 06/01/2010 13:10

And yes I do know how to use an apostrophe normally

Why can't we edit posts on this forum !!

Joolsiam · 06/01/2010 13:09

Hello Mermaid

Are you snowed in down there ?

I know there is snow in Wadebridge - school's closed etc ...

BlueMoon1981 · 06/01/2010 13:08

hi ladies, i am ahem working from home

nope have not tested, and decided i'm not going to - i have just had af so that is that! i am a bit like jools with my logic, i just cannot do with seeing a bfn. and jools im with you on the planning for a baby thing, me and df have been together 8 years and we have realised there is no 'good' time. Between us we have both been made redundant and other things have happened which put ttc on hold for a few years but i really wish we had started sooner looking back on it all now. Things always work out in the end, and if you have a baby on the way you just manage dont you. I always wanted a big family too, i come from a small family and would so love to have 3 or 4 kids one day, but for now if we could just have one please that would make our life perfect

barbie1 · 06/01/2010 13:08

jools are you in the bathroom peeing on a stick

4ever you can colour your hair, just dont do it so often if you usually have full head colour. The belief that hair colour was bad was research done way back in the 80's where perming and colour were done regularly. The developments in hair colour means its fine to visit the hairdresser regularly, also very good place to relax on your own for a few hours! As for the belly ring, i took mine out as soon as i knew, mainly for comfort reasons and the fact its a hassle to remove each scan ect. Im glad i did cos my belly button has stretched so much and i think having a bar in it would making the 'scaring' look worse.

mls the doctor i see, the one who delievered lots of famous babies in the portland hospital in london says she would recommend the use of asprin a month pre trying to concieve unless told other wise. So go for it!

mermaid im glad you are back, how are you feeling?

I had my 34 week checkup today, the good news is the head is down and we are all in the right position, got to see the lo on the scan again....The worst part was waiting for an hour due to an emergency, which i later found out the lady in front of me was told she just had a mmc i wanted to run after her and hug her and point her in our direction, instead i just sat crying in the doctors room sadly the pain of mmc never goes does it?

Only a few more days until the in laws go...and ill be back to more regular posts xxx

mermaidspurse · 06/01/2010 12:47

ah forgot its not christmas

mermaidspurse · 06/01/2010 12:46

testXmas Grin

Joolsiam · 06/01/2010 12:30

gaaaahhhh - today is trying every ounce of my Zen like patience

Keep prodding boobs, visiting loo. Concvinced myself I was feeling AF-like, then got starving hungry (again), had something to eat and then felt seasick again

Sorry to hear you are at work Neeko

4everhopeful · 06/01/2010 12:20

Morning chatty lovelies! Boo to no snow day Neeko! .....What time is ur scan tomorrow Lbm? We can be scan buddies, mine is at 12pm & ive been a right old weeble these last few days, i had quite achey twingey pains in tummy, think aggravated by lack of sleep & return to work anxiety, last night i think i felt a flutter tho & it seemed to go all hard? Also having pain in pelvic bone if stand too long, so worrying if in right position? Also about effect of not taking cyclogest which i stopped completely on fri..? So, although tomorrow was prob gonna be my last weekly scan im gonna push for another next week as no doubt, the return to work will make me weeble some more, as much as im hoping the treatment at the portland has helped us, im sure staying off work & taking it v easy for first 4months also helped massively so really, thats my main wobble about returning.. However despite feelin quite distraught & unsettled last few days, also no dh to keep me chilled & distract me, i did have a great sleep in the end & dont feel as horribly anxious as i did, think thats why i can actually write it down!

Neeko · 06/01/2010 11:48

That's the problem with us lot Jools we try to plan too much. Have everything crossed for you for tomorrow.

Also fingers crossed for Cupcake and LBM's scans.

Joolsiam · 06/01/2010 11:45

DP and I worried about our financial situation for far too long before TTC - in the end, although he still isn't in permanent employment, I just insisted on going for it, as at age 38, time was running out - 2 years on, I wish we'd taken the plunge earlier

Neeko · 06/01/2010 11:43

Cupcake x-post. Yay for your snow day! have told you before that you'll make a fab mum. You can't fail by being as kind and funny as you are. It's normal to worry.

Very envy of your Sex and the City time.

Neeko · 06/01/2010 11:41

Hello all. I'm at work so no snow day

Moon did you test? You've been so grounded recently that it would be silly not to test and to drive yourself daft.

Jools Very impressed by your resillience and restraint. I'm afraid I'm a bit like MLS in that department. found a test at the back of the cupboard the other day and HAD to use it, even though I -and the rest of the world- already knew the result!

4ever and MLS I know what you mean about feeling complete, but I'm confident I will feel that way after this one. I clearly am a big worry wart over money too!

iggy Buying maternity clothes is one of the biggest ways you can make it feel real - go for it. I have a super comfy pair of jeans from Debenhams and the best ever stretchy black trousers from Next (plus many more)

Ok, off to do some work.

cupcakefairy · 06/01/2010 11:40

Hi jools hope af wasn't signalling her arrival this morning ...thanks but really don't feel brave, just crazy. I'm still a wreck most days and keep waking up at about 4am and having mini panic attacks and sleeping in fits and starts til the alarm goes off.

Like 4ever and MLS I have always wanted a big family (I'm one of 4 and dh one of 5, we love loads of people around.) but now I am so terrified by the thought of motherhood that I'm not sure I would cope... we'll see

neeko that makes me very happy to hear you won't be going back on the pill yay for charting!

iggy yes we are looking...the problem is whether to buy or rent so need to make that decision really!

LBM hope scan goes well tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Blue congrats on Benjamin's weight gain

Well I have a snow day today! Lots of snow in Cardiff. Slipped and slided almost to my bus stop then got a text from boss saying office closed...so slipped and slided home to watch Sex & the City and drink tea! Now I suppose I should do some of my course work!

Joolsiam · 06/01/2010 11:10

Yup - I knew I'd miss someone

Sorry Cupcake - have been following talk on house moves and think you are very brave to be multi-tasking

Moon - I've been in your position and had to test, just for my sanity and to stop my mind wandering ....
