Hi jools don't be embarassed we all want this for you too, it aint over though til the ew arrives, but I really hope she doesn't

mls did you go to bed last night?

Both ds's were unsettled last night but since getting up and seeing the weather reports it's not suprising, -20 up here . I actually thought my heating hadn't come on but the radiators are blazing and it's still cold . Hope you are all a little warmer where you are and very of barbie right now

Joolsiam · 08/01/2010 08:26

hehe - MLS I never realised till today just how much of a testing habit you had

Tis OK - I'm just grumpy and annoyed with myself for not just waiting. I've had positive tests at 13DPO before (today is 16DPO) - and that time, I had an ambiguous result on a Boots test, not an emphatic BFN. Sooo, it doesn't sound good. I'll be grumpy for a day and a bit embarrassed about being so over-excited, then get over it

MummyLovesSadie · 08/01/2010 08:23

Oh Jools sorry you are having to go through this waiting & uncertainty. If you lived closer I'd bring over a couple of hpt's out of my stash.

Joolsiam · 08/01/2010 08:18

Well I'm not feeling up to trekking into town at the moment, and should be working from home, so the likelihood of me buying a test before tomorrow is fairly remote.

This cold I've had keeps coming back and I really and truly feel very nauseous - had thought this was probably a pg symptom, but if it isn't, I need to see a GP anway as this isnt right.

MummyLovesSadie · 08/01/2010 08:14

Hmmmmmm well maybe it'd be worth buying a Clearblue or something like that? (Not the digital one, they are the work of the devil).

Joolsiam · 08/01/2010 08:07

I tend to avoid First Response simply because I've never had a positive result with them and think they are bad luck !

MummyLovesSadie · 08/01/2010 08:01

AND you can use them at any time of the day, not just first thing.

MummyLovesSadie · 08/01/2010 07:54

Oh bugger. Well I would suggest buying a first response. I was sceptical about them until last cycle when they were the only tests out of three different brands that showed my bfp (& quite a dark line it was too).

Joolsiam · 08/01/2010 07:48

Confused

BFN this morning on a crappy Boots test that I have had problems with before.

Still no AF, still nauseous, still got huge, sore boobs....

Wish I hadn't bothered now - am back on the testing rollercoaster. Will test again tomorrow if no AF by then - this is my longest cycle since I was a teenager

MummyLovesSadie · 08/01/2010 07:48

Joooooooools????

littlebellsmum · 07/01/2010 22:18

Yes MLS and 4ever, I'm also in Surrey but right on the sussex edge. Very near infact all those people who were stuck on the A3 for 2 days!! I've also read the forecasts for next week which don't look good and DH has started trying to dig a way out of our road - he got about halfway today and hopes to get the rest of the way tomorrow! Just in time to get snowed on again!! I hope you can get out on Monday mlsbut dont take any risks, you don't want to be sleeping in a car.

monkeysbum what a post!! So good to hear your ds's op went well - it's funny how you know when something isn't right without even being told. And I don't really have a bump, I just look like I've eaten all the pies which my DH loves telling people I have done too. My sweet tooth is going into overdrive at the moment, which is a good way to get rid of all the Xmas chocolate. I was going to tell my boss on Tuesday but he was busy and I chickened out. I am going to have to tell him next time I can get to the office as it is starting to get obvious!!

MummyLovesSadie · 07/01/2010 21:55

Jools about what time are you testing tomorrow???

MummyLovesSadie · 07/01/2010 21:53

Glad your ds is doing well Monkey. Your description of him being wheeled away on a trolley actually nearly made me cry, you must have been in bits. God knows how mothers who have very sick hospitalised children cope. Anyway I'll change the subject before I start blubbing - go forth & copulate!

VJay · 07/01/2010 21:52

Hi monkey so glad your ds's op went well, it's not nice seeing them go through it, ds1 had to have a general when he was under 2, but was ok. Ajay is 18 weeks now, can't believe it

4ever so pleased for you hun, really pleased , you and dh are doing so well.

jools I would say , but I'm getting a wee bit excited for you, I will be on here checking tomorrow too.

Both ds's have woken up , will be back on tomorrow

OP posts:
monkeybumsmum · 07/01/2010 21:28

Evening all I'm back!!

DS's op went really well, although it was awful having to say goodbye - watching the wee little thing being wheeled away in a big bed. It was a straightforward op, to put these little 'drains' in his ears to get rid of the liquid. He's had real problems with his speech development, and so we sussed out that something was up... Thank goodness all is well now though, and he's started talking loads more already as he can hear more We are SO relieved! Thanks everyone for the well wishes, I was so worried!

Have been trying to go through all the (many) posts since the weekend, so apologies if I miss anything/anyone!

Blue Am rather of your co-sleeping, I used to love snuggling up to my ds. All warm and cosy - such special days
What car seat did you get for DS1? We've just ordered a Kidfix (can't recall make) and need to get another one for dh's car but not sure whether to get the same one or go for a different one. Any advice/tips?
Have just read about your boobs - well done you two

VJay Bless Ajay, can't believe he's starting to try solids already Where does the time go! Have you tried parsnip? That was a fave of ds's... Sweet potato, yum!
As for teething, it can start pretty early can't it? Am convinced that ds started at around 4 months, but nothing came through for ages. How old is Ajay now?

Annie Lovely to hear about little Ellis - you must be so proud! Poor you with your c-section scar not healing properly, it must be a worry. Have they said whether they can do anything to help it mend?

4ever OMG, you must've been terrified to see blood the other night, you poor thing! Am so glad that all is well though, you must be incredibly relieved!

Moon How's the planning going I second 4ever's tip of confetti.co.uk - so much fun on one website
Wrt the symptoms you had - I'm like MLS too and have been convinced of the same thing on several occasions. Is v weird isn't it.

Gracie Sounds terribly exciting re the George's head starting to engage!!! Have you packed your hospital bag yet?

MLS You are amazing for having bounced back so quickly. It's really interesting to hear about the aspirin debate. My old gynae over here told me to take 75mg aspirin daily from before conception, but I read somewhere that it hinders implantation so I stopped. It's so difficult knowing what to do isn't it... If you haven't been taking it up to now, and it hasn't been working out then what's the harm in trying it to see if it helps?
Re acupuncturist, IMO they rock! Have been seeing mine for years (since pg with ds) and she's managed to help loads of woman and see them through getting pg (against all odds) and have successful pregnancies. Have you been for your first session yet? The multi-bed approach is a bit odd - my guy here does that, but after a few mins you forget everyone else! Good luck, and I hope it helps.
Thanks re ds, yes I would've given anything to swap places with him... he was such a brave boy and didn't cry once in the run up to going down to theatre. He definately overdosed on ice-cream when we got home though!

Iggy Soooo pleased to hear the scan went well, that's wonderful news! No wonder you were a bit over-excited, there is every reason to be
OMG those puppies are beautiful!!! Is great getting a second dog as they occupy themselves a bit more. We have two boxers (pic on profile) and they play together loads and are sleeping curled up together (and snoring ) as I write

Jools I have my fingers tightly crossed for you - are you going to test tomorrow? I so so so hope that it's a big fat BFP
Oooh lovely re having two siamese - they are lovely!

Barbie Happy Birthday for Monday - you must be so excited What's this about a ring? Think I must've missed it? Sounds fab and can't wait to see pics!!!
Meal sounds lovely, and enoy Avatar, the trailer looks great! Take a cushion to the cinema with you - we went lots in the month before ds was born, and it's really difficult getting comfy in those seats for more than a few mins! I do have to say though, that we watched one film when I was about 38 weeks, and there was a piece of music in it that ds kicked madly to. We played it by chance at home when he was a couple of weeks old, and it soothed him instantly, and continued to do so for ages! Was just amazing, and when I listen to it now I start to cry Is this song

LBM Wow, you must have a very neat bump for your boss not to have noticed!!! When are you going to tell him/her?

Neeko Love the thought of your dd trying to get her dad singing A Whole New World - can't imagine it does much for the macho image though

Mermaid Wow, lovely re guidedog pup - what a great thing to do. Must be hard to let it go, but then if you go into it knowing you'll have to and that you're doing an amazing thing then it must make it a bit easier What did your dh say?

Cupcake I LOVE the name Jude - how gorgeous! Benedict and Theo are also lovely Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

Hi to Buddha, Sabs, MM and Curly too - I hope all is well with you

Right, have taken soooo long writing this that I've probs cross posted with people! Have to dash now as need to go and persuade dh to come up for an early night My cycle is still haywire after my op, so we are at it like rabbits (well, every other day, which for us is like rabbits ). Poor dh is knackered but I am determined to carry on until I feel like I'm finally in my 10 day wait (as opposed to 2ww!) Wish me luck - I'm going in

iggypiggy · 07/01/2010 21:05

Hi all!

wow 4ever that was big post! So pleased you had a good scan and does sound like you've got all the best bits of the NHS helping you on your journey.

I am still happy - love telling people... although still cautious (does that ever go?!) But I told a friend today who knew about my mc and she is giving birth tomorrow - she was very excited! So that makes me all excited again!

Am now employing cupcake's elastic band technique on my trousers - works like magic!

jools I don't know how you holding out now you know you going to test! I decided to test on a Friday and got home on Thursday from work and just poas then cos I couldn't face waiting... I had been v. good until then.. Everything crossed for tomorrow!

mermaid much love to you xx

MLS great news about first acupuncture session so soon!

moon you really do sound happy at the mo - which is excellent.

lbm hope you get your scan v. soon.

neeko hope the first day of nursery went well for your DD.

Hello to everyone else - gotta get off computer now... big waves xxx

4everhopeful · 07/01/2010 21:02

Ooh x posts! LBM ahh bliss to be snowed in all together - you enjoy it! Are you another Surrey lady?

You too Moon with your DF! Funnily enough I told DH when you got engaged, he enjoys being called DH & even signed it as an aka on one of his christmas cards to me! He said 'surely her DP should be a DF now?' and was delighted when I told him he had indeed, been renamed a DF! Glad you like confetti by the way! Fab but dangerously expensive as you realise all the 'essentials' such as table glitter & bridesmaid T shirts for getting ready in!!!

MLS get some grit & persevere, you will get to that acupuncturist hail or snow Im sure!

Jools

4everhopeful · 07/01/2010 20:53

Ahhh Jools hon Im so with you on that! DH & I self isolated & cocooned ourselves away over the last 2yrs of heartache & worries.. When it was just us it was all ok & we could still laugh & bring each other up, RL was just hard work and 'acting normal' was such a bind! Saw friends over christmas that have now become a once a year christmas presents to the kids friendships! Think its cos we were the only 'childless' ones so self preservation def a part of it.. Anyway, Im quite happy to be the 'old married couple' in our slippers & jim jams & in bed by 10pm every night, we work hard & its nice to just be together..

Im really excited for you & I shall be lurking & refreshing away tomorrow! The signs sound good!

MLS thank you sweetheart! Its nice to be feeling that way as well as sounding it, had been really low, you dont realise til you start coming out the other side do you? Yes dahling - Surrey when Im feeling swanky, Souf London when Im not!!!!

MummyLovesSadie · 07/01/2010 20:43

Hello LBM & Moon, we are snowed in here too & I'm loving it! LBM you don't live far from me do you? I'm a bit worried about Monday though, we are supposed to be getting much more snow on Sunday & Monday & I'm going out on Monday evening for my 1st acupuncture session. I really really don't want to miss it as I'm due to ovulate next Thursday.

MummyLovesSadie · 07/01/2010 20:38

Jools I didn't realise ff said that if you went past your luteal phase. I'm sure that is something I won't ever be seeing on my chart! On my chart last month it said 'possible implantation signs, triphasic pattern detected' & I nearly wet myself! I cannot believe your self control, if I had the slightest inkling I was up the duff I'd be peeing on a stick quicker than you can say 'first response'!

littlebellsmum · 07/01/2010 20:37

Xpost with MLS and Moon - we are well and truly snowed in too. I'm trying to work from home when the kids let me and DH is here too which shows how bad the snow is as in all the previous years he's never had more than half a day off

littlebellsmum · 07/01/2010 20:34

jools Good luck in the morning - I'll be lurking for the result. I wouldn't worry about losing contact with some friends, you will still be in touch with the ones that count and once you become a mummy, you'll get a whole load more!!

Lovely post from you 4ever - certainly a pink one now! I haven't rebooked the scan yet - the hospital was asking people not to phone yesterday as their lines were too busy, but I will. Hope the weekend isn't too bad and you get to spend lots of time with your DH

Hello to everyone else

BlueMoon1981 · 07/01/2010 20:31

4ever you must have been there for hours writing that post! really happy your bean (who i guess is no longer bean sized by now) is alive and kicking, i am thrilled that this one is yours for keeps thanks for the recommendation for the confetti website, i have had a few sneak peeks, trying not to get too excited as it will be a long way off yet!

jools hope things work out for you, fingers crossed this is your month

still snowed in and working from home (yes i actually did work today ) but its so nice to be with df (just for cupcake) for so many more hours than i usually am. i am so jealous that his job is home based. a bit fed up that we cant go anywhere, some people have attempted to get out in their cars but have got stuck, and we live on a hill so am not chancing it just to get to work. i am very happy at home!

MummyLovesSadie · 07/01/2010 20:26

I'm here. 4ever glad you are sounding relieved, relaxed, happy & chirpy once again! I didn't realise you lived in the Surrey part of London, for some reason I thought you were in East London.

Jools I only have one word for you & it begins & ends with 't'!

Joolsiam · 07/01/2010 20:24

4Ever - nobody notices - we are what we are on here

I'm crap at the mammoth posts and better at replying more frequently during the day, but get embarrassed at my inability to remember / namecheck everyone.

I'm also aware (now I'm recovering) that my depression was affecting all my relationships - i wasn't replying to texts and emails or initiating contact with people and kind of feel like I've lost touch a bit with ppl on here and in real life - certainly in RL, people haven't understood and have mostly given up trying to befriend me. Not sure how to get that back really, but am trying not to let it worry me

I think I will test in the morning, so that I can phone the recurrent MC people. Seeing the words in Fertility Friend - "you are now past your usual luteal phase, you may be pregnant" made me realise that any loss now would not be a CP that I'd rather not know about, but an MC, so it is time I took my head out of the sand.

Milestone 1 will be reaching 5+5 without any bleeding starting.

Already though, I think I'm feeling more nauseous and have bigger / more tender boobs certainly than the last mc and probably more than the one before that - all encouraging signs I hope.

Oh gawd, I'm talking like I know the result of the test tomorrow Well, if it isn't positive, I'll be extremely surprised !
