Evening all I'm back!!
DS's op went really well, although it was awful having to say goodbye - watching the wee little thing being wheeled away in a big bed. It was a straightforward op, to put these little 'drains' in his ears to get rid of the liquid. He's had real problems with his speech development, and so we sussed out that something was up... Thank goodness all is well now though, and he's started talking loads more already as he can hear more We are SO relieved! Thanks everyone for the well wishes, I was so worried!
Have been trying to go through all the (many) posts since the weekend, so apologies if I miss anything/anyone!
Blue Am rather of your co-sleeping, I used to love snuggling up to my ds. All warm and cosy - such special days
What car seat did you get for DS1? We've just ordered a Kidfix (can't recall make) and need to get another one for dh's car but not sure whether to get the same one or go for a different one. Any advice/tips?
Have just read about your boobs - well done you two
VJay Bless Ajay, can't believe he's starting to try solids already Where does the time go! Have you tried parsnip? That was a fave of ds's... Sweet potato, yum!
As for teething, it can start pretty early can't it? Am convinced that ds started at around 4 months, but nothing came through for ages. How old is Ajay now?
Annie Lovely to hear about little Ellis - you must be so proud! Poor you with your c-section scar not healing properly, it must be a worry. Have they said whether they can do anything to help it mend?
4ever OMG, you must've been terrified to see blood the other night, you poor thing! Am so glad that all is well though, you must be incredibly relieved!
Moon How's the planning going I second 4ever's tip of confetti.co.uk - so much fun on one website
Wrt the symptoms you had - I'm like MLS too and have been convinced of the same thing on several occasions. Is v weird isn't it.
Gracie Sounds terribly exciting re the George's head starting to engage!!! Have you packed your hospital bag yet?
MLS You are amazing for having bounced back so quickly. It's really interesting to hear about the aspirin debate. My old gynae over here told me to take 75mg aspirin daily from before conception, but I read somewhere that it hinders implantation so I stopped. It's so difficult knowing what to do isn't it... If you haven't been taking it up to now, and it hasn't been working out then what's the harm in trying it to see if it helps?
Re acupuncturist, IMO they rock! Have been seeing mine for years (since pg with ds) and she's managed to help loads of woman and see them through getting pg (against all odds) and have successful pregnancies. Have you been for your first session yet? The multi-bed approach is a bit odd - my guy here does that, but after a few mins you forget everyone else! Good luck, and I hope it helps.
Thanks re ds, yes I would've given anything to swap places with him... he was such a brave boy and didn't cry once in the run up to going down to theatre. He definately overdosed on ice-cream when we got home though!
Iggy Soooo pleased to hear the scan went well, that's wonderful news! No wonder you were a bit over-excited, there is every reason to be
OMG those puppies are beautiful!!! Is great getting a second dog as they occupy themselves a bit more. We have two boxers (pic on profile) and they play together loads and are sleeping curled up together (and snoring ) as I write
Jools I have my fingers tightly crossed for you - are you going to test tomorrow? I so so so hope that it's a big fat BFP
Oooh lovely re having two siamese - they are lovely!
Barbie Happy Birthday for Monday - you must be so excited What's this about a ring? Think I must've missed it? Sounds fab and can't wait to see pics!!!
Meal sounds lovely, and enoy Avatar, the trailer looks great! Take a cushion to the cinema with you - we went lots in the month before ds was born, and it's really difficult getting comfy in those seats for more than a few mins! I do have to say though, that we watched one film when I was about 38 weeks, and there was a piece of music in it that ds kicked madly to. We played it by chance at home when he was a couple of weeks old, and it soothed him instantly, and continued to do so for ages! Was just amazing, and when I listen to it now I start to cry Is this song
LBM Wow, you must have a very neat bump for your boss not to have noticed!!! When are you going to tell him/her?
Neeko Love the thought of your dd trying to get her dad singing A Whole New World - can't imagine it does much for the macho image though
Mermaid Wow, lovely re guidedog pup - what a great thing to do. Must be hard to let it go, but then if you go into it knowing you'll have to and that you're doing an amazing thing then it must make it a bit easier What did your dh say?
Cupcake I LOVE the name Jude - how gorgeous! Benedict and Theo are also lovely Good luck for your scan tomorrow!
Hi to Buddha, Sabs, MM and Curly too - I hope all is well with you
Right, have taken soooo long writing this that I've probs cross posted with people! Have to dash now as need to go and persuade dh to come up for an early night My cycle is still haywire after my op, so we are at it like rabbits (well, every other day, which for us is like rabbits ). Poor dh is knackered but I am determined to carry on until I feel like I'm finally in my 10 day wait (as opposed to 2ww!) Wish me luck - I'm going in
