hi iggy we went to Edinburgh last year for my birthday and really enjoyed it, I was 16 weeks pg then, wow what a difference a year makes! We honeymooned near Loch Ness too, it was fab, I was 9 weeks pg then with ds1 and had a lovely time, now we live up here, Loch Ness is about half an hours drive away

iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 11:35

vjay I love Edinburgh - I lived there for a year... is my favourite city... In fact I love Scotland in general - had my honeymoon near Loch Ness

VJay · 14/01/2010 11:32

mls thanks for clearing that up for me now, I can now 'see' you with those nice neat magnets, not whopping great dangly ones , my imagination alsways runs away with me

blue It does get easier after 3 months. I look back now at ds1 and wish I'd spent less time worrying and loking at the baby manual and more time enjoying him so small, but hindsight is such a wonderful thing isn't it. Also dh got down and back ok the other da. A section of the A9 shut just after he drove it due to an avalanche (sp?) , but they had cleared it by the time he came back up.

iggy boo hiss to your rubsh cold.

Have booked a weekend away to Edinburgh for my birthday in March. I can't wait, the boys are coming too, can't leave them behind . Ajay will be 6 months old by then so hopefully able to sit up in a highchair. Think we might stop at the Falkirk wheel on the way home too, that will be the boys treat.
The snow is finally thawing and it's been raining again today, yay

iggypiggy · 14/01/2010 10:11

Hi lovelies

I have a cold - which is rubbish - and prob the main cause of the headaches... but the sicky feeling is fine - am not complaining, is oddly reassuring...

mermaid must be a relief that AF turned up fast. Good luck with fibroids. Still thinking about you muchly. x

4ever 20 weeks already! Is halfway!

MLS you sound v. positive - I love the snow too, but London is rubbish for snow! Cooling strips sound perfect... exactly what I need - going to go to supermarket at lunchtime.

neeko I do like a list

Big waves to all - gonna catch up properly soon xxxx

MrsKate · 13/01/2010 20:00

hi all

Neeko im the same im 28 weeks and havnt done anything at all slightly stressing
all im doing at mo is working and sleeping . bathroom is nearly done then its babys room next we have the stuff for it but need a skip to get rid of the crap that is in it at mo lol . im having mammas and pappas range barnaby button its cream and brown

wow 4ever 20 weeks

bluesatinsash · 13/01/2010 19:54

Another liner wearer here - lots of discharge during both pgs, just hormones (gawd, what isn't!). You will get used to your new routine 4ever - just one step/day at a time..

MLS - you with grey hair ? Noooo...
. Don't know how much I have now as have been dying it for 4 years .

Vjay - I do remember it getting easier when DS1 hit 3 months. Its tricky as I want to savour Benjamin's curled up like a comma newborn stage but I'm just so so tired

Barbie - had a wee lump thinking of you standing in the nursery .

Neeko - how's that list shaping up? got it laminated yet?

mermaid - glad to read your cycle's back to normal (but too) and your seeing doc about fibroids...

Better go, DS1 needs his stories

later xx

p.s. cupcakesnowedininwales - spill the beans - what is the song?!

MummyLovesSadie · 13/01/2010 19:32

4ever yes discharge is normal. When pregnant with dd I had to wear liners all the time.

Vjay lol at your image of dangly magnets! They look like this. That's obviously not me in the photo as she has no grey hair! Yum fahitas, love em.

VJay · 13/01/2010 16:59

4ever the discharge is normal, it's all due to hormones. Think the lump is normal, but just ring the midwife to check, that's what they're there for

OP posts:
VJay · 13/01/2010 16:56

hiya, I've been clearing the snow and ice today with dh, then it started to rain so it's starting to melt at last! I've never been so pleased to see rain

blue ds1 is too old for the sw jag and ds2 too young at the moment. I think it is 6 months to 5 years. Also, yes it does get easier, that was my mantra a while back, but we are out on the otherside now , at least I hope we are

cupcake I agree we are a gorgeous bunch of ladies , and what was the song?

mermaid glad af is here so you know where you are up too, but really wish it wasn't too. Only us ladies on here will understand what I've just written

neeko 30 weeks , 4ever 20 weeks , time is flying. I wish it would slow down a bit for me now.

mls I was thinking of you today with magnets dandling around your ears , where are they placed cos I can't get this image of you out of my head and I'm sure I've got the picture all wrong

barbie hope you are relaxing with all this moving going on.

Right off to start dinner, chicken fahitas tonight.

4everhopeful · 13/01/2010 16:54

Oh yea & need a lil advice? Logical brain says normal pregnancy symptoms: - tmi, but im havin lots & lots of discharge? 4everhopeful · 13/01/2010 16:27

Hey lovelies I had a much needed duvet day cos of the snow! Neeko wow that means exactly 10wks between us! How exciting to have lists! I love lists! We decorated our spare room neutral beige with old pine front room bookcase & cupboard that could become a changing table too, also have chest of drawers so all would need is a cot, dont think would dare to get til babe in arms & will get moses about 38wks! Supersticious - mois? (no just full of fear still! ....Barbie can just imagine how emotional u must of been lovely lady! .....MLS love the confidence inspiring fightback the acup is giving you i think sometimes we just kno what will help, was like a lightbulb when discovered my treatment! Have to at ur strange hair quest tho iv done opposite every preg cos even my cons reckons not too dye hair in preg cos gets absorbed into bloodstream, so every af id dash to hairdressers! Last time i went was day we conceived in sept & grey roots are so bad round temples, hidden by fringe mostly, some say ok past 1st tri but too scared to risk it, so im finally braving it on mon im booked for lowlights as that doesnt penetrate scalp! Just fyi! Google it! ....Mermaid lovely, kno we already tx but as said glad the pigeon steps down road to recovery have started & also hope dentist not too bad! ! ....Right better bath! X x x x x

MummyLovesSadie · 13/01/2010 13:44

Are you buying her all pink stuff? My dd's furniture is white as we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl. I can't wait to make her room look like an explosion in a marshmallow factory!

Yes I really did go out this morning (it snowed heavily overnight btw), we went to playgroup & fortunately is in a school along our road. Dh drove to the station, there were no trains so drove home again & instead of the drive taking him 5 minutes, it took him an hour and 10! I love the snow!

Neeko · 13/01/2010 13:34

I meant about the googling thing but we don't believe you about the minger either.
The plan is to buy new furniture for our room and put the chest of drawers in baby's room along with DD's bedside drawers. DD has to get new drawers and bedside table and a new bed (with pull out bed underneath) and her bed is to go in baby's room.

Short answer: yes, quite a lot of furniture.

Neeko · 13/01/2010 13:30

MLS We don't believe you!

MummyLovesSadie · 13/01/2010 13:30

Neeko 30 weeks???? Bloody hell how did that happen???! Have you got lots of furniture to buy then? we are just going to move dd's furniture (cot, changing table, rocking chair)into our nursery when I've reached a reasonable stage of pregnancy (yes I know, I'm not even pregnant yet!). She's not going to have a big bed until then! Also I'm not having my hair done until I'm pregnant again & at the moment I have about 3 inches of grey roots - nice! I don't know why but all last year I wouldn't allow myself to go to the hairdressers unless I was pregnant, I guess it was my own weird way of having an incentive to get pregnant. The longer I was not pregnant, the longer I looked like a minger!

MummyLovesSadie · 13/01/2010 13:20

And this small panters. Sorry to go on about acupuncture but the more I look into it the more interesting it looks & please oh please oh please make it work.

Mermaid glad af turned up & you have a sense of closure. At least you didn't have a long drawn-out wait for your cycle to kick back in. You know acupuncture can help fibroids!

Barbie how many times have you found yourself in the nursery today?! I bet you are gazing into the cot right now picturing babyBarbie!

BTW I've not been on my computer Googling since 7am, I have ventured out into the snow & done stuff today you know!

Neeko · 13/01/2010 13:11

Hi all.
Barbie hope the move is going well - remember no lifting!

Mermaid Glad to hear that your cycle is back to normal (although it goes without saying that I wish it weren't IYKWIM.) Now make that appointment, please.

Cupcake make room for that ball as you can deflate it later. You won't regret it. Mine sat in the middle of my living room when pg with DD. tried to store it in what was to become her bedroom but it wouldn't fit through the door! I want to know your anthem song too.

MLS definitely try the cd as it can't hurt. Make sure you savour the drink this weekend too. I'm still stalking your chart - looking good!

Blue really glad all's ok with Ben's heart. Must have been a huuuge relief. Nice of your golfer to reply too.DD got an appt for swine flu vaccination [feeling posh today ) but can't make it so will need to reschedule. Our middle of the night song was You Are My Sunshine but might try the sound of music next time. Hope you've had some rest now.

Iggy Hope the head is better and the sickness not quite

4ever you're half-way through the working week. Well done. Also glad to see that the sneaky postind service at work has been restored I was 30 weeks yesterday so you must be half way there now.

I had a bit of a meltdown last night about how little we've done to prepare and the baby is due in 10 weeks - eeek! We have the room to decorate and lots of furniture to buy. DH came in from work at bight to be met with me armed with A4 paper writing lists and lists. Feel much better now that's done and at least if I go early he has lists of all the things that should be in the bags I haven't yet packed! I am in true Neeko fahion going to get packing this week so I can relax about that at least.

mermaidspurse · 13/01/2010 10:32

opps sorry barbie left my x post half way thro and went to the newsagents

at your nursery. When I think of your dark days last winter it is lovely to think of you in the sunshine with a massive bump.
Enjoy and treasure.xx

mermaidspurse · 13/01/2010 10:29

morning girls

iggy hope that headache has gone. Also sorry you feel sick but glad you are, I know you know what I mean!

cupcake what song?

4ever big gold star for being employee of the week glad you are retreating back to sofa in the afternoon and fab ulous to hear you are having flutterings.

blue hope you have had a wee bit more sleep - thanks for clearing up the jag thing I always thought it was a typo! My early hours song was daisy, daisy

mls yes that all makes sense, had lots of things done to kidneys with my accup. Glad you are feeling good.

af turned up this morning out of the blue exactly 23 days after I first started mc. so thats feels like case closed now, iykwim. Next stop drs and fibroid things yuk.

right work. have a good all

barbie1 · 13/01/2010 09:43

lurking in between the villa move.....thinking of you all will be back to normal within a few days.

Just had nursery stuff delievered and made, stood in that room and cried my eyes out for ages I was thinking about all of you lovely ladies, the journey so far and friendships made.....im so emotional right now!

Back soon love you all lots xxxx

MummyLovesSadie · 13/01/2010 07:10

Small panters read this.

cupcakefairy · 12/01/2010 22:01

Evening lovely ladies. As I was sat on the bus stuck in traffic earlier listening to a song that has been my anthem this past year I thought of you all and what an absolutely gorgeous bunch of ladies you are. Just so glad we can all support each other

4ever yay for flutterings! Sure dh will be able to feel soon. Literally every time Titch starts moving around loads I try to get dh to feel it and it stops, so frustrating! My Mum said it means his firm hand is stopping any bad behaviour already

Neeko you are so sweet bursting with pride at your dd's good behaviour don't have a birthing ball, we have no room in flat for anything like that but a friend has a pilates ball maybe I should ask to borrow it! Sounds fab. Slept a lot better last night but still v painful today.

MLS so so glad acupuncture was a success, can't wait to hear about its progression in the coming weeks I hate clutter too!

Moon so sad you feel you have nothing to remind you of your LOs they will never be forgotten though. I don't have scan pics or letters or anything but I did buy a rosary for my lo...I collect them for special occasions (dh bought me one for our wedding etc..) and I got a white one with a Madonna & Child link after the mc which took me ages to find...(this one) I have often prayed it for you Emmsy girls. (Ok now I've well and truly come out of the religious freak closet )

jools I had 3 bad news scans with my lost lo and just couldn't imagine ever leaving that hospital feeling positive so our first scan with this one was so special. Can't wait til that happens for you too lovely. I am super super of the brie.. can't describe how much I miss it!

mermaid thanks for the timely reminder. We are all so blessed. So sorry about funeral

monkey sorry you've been feeling rotten I hope it's a good sign too

Hi iggy sorry you're under the weather too!

blue awwww and when Carrie broke it off and he said 'is it cos I said Maoried?' I just adore him. LOVE the image of you singing The Hills are Alive at 3am

Sure I had a million more things to say but I'll hit post now and add footnotes later!

MummyLovesSadie · 12/01/2010 21:29

Blue lol at you singing a medley of Sound of Music in the wee small hours! Brings back memories of dh & I whisper-singing Wheels on The Bus for hours on end in the middle of the night as it was the only thing that would make dd lay still!

Neeko a relaxation cd is a very good idea - I'd still feel terribly self-conscious though even if I was on my own! I'm not planning on totally not drinking at weekends, I'd just like to learn the meaning of moderation! I don't know if it's the magnets or if they are working as a placebo but so far I've not even thought that I could murder a drink. Has your dd come home with any new stickers today?

4ever at baby hopeful fluttering away, there is nothing like it hey?

Iggy have you tried cooling strips for your headaches?

I too have always been confused by the jag/jab debate. I say jab, dh says jag...... I think it sounds plain wrong!

bluesatinsash · 12/01/2010 20:35

ooh MLS - hope you're in your flotation tank right now . Fntastics that your acup sesh went well. Even if its a placebo affect, anyhting that 'fixes' our mind/body to carry sticky bean is worth its weight in gold .

4ever - so glad your first day back wasn't too daunting and you and your Mum coped OK with Sunday... Remember and take it easy in the afternoons - that's an order!

Vjay - was chuckling at your eyes rolling from your DH and you - te he . did you DH make it down my way then? You know I had the jags v jabs debate the other month as confuse myself what to call them! I had the swine flu inviation sent out for DS1, did you get one for your DS1 although I think its for under 5's ? Neeko - have you had one for your DD?

cupcake - I love, love, love the 4th season of Sex and the City. Still can't believe Carrie broke up with Aiden - he was gorgeous on every level and I always thought they sparked together much more than Carrie and Big. Remember when he asked her to get 'Maoried'? And he was good with his hands .

Iggy - glad that your still feleing sick, but you know what I mean

Mermaid - how going to a funeral of such a young friend... Glad the sun coming out lifted your spirits. We're lucky that the wii resides at the in-laws and is strictly for family get togethers .

Better go as new series of CSI (minus Grissom - sob!) starts at 9pm. Anyone watch Glee last night on E4? Had to dust down my jazz hands - its was great and that Journey song (Don't Stop Believing) is so going to sweep the nation as it was on Glee last night + sang by Joe on X-Factor + end credits from last episode of Sopranos - it will be No. 1 soon pop pickers!

Don't know how I'm managing to type as I'm severley sleep deprived - Benjamin was crying sore from 2.30am-4am and all I could do was sing him 'sound of music' songs on a loop - thought DH was going to throw himself out the window . Repeat "it does get easier, it does get easier..."

Oh forgot, Monkey - its a Graco car seat - half price in Halfords... What a lovely thing your Dh did to remind you of your lost lo's..

Neeko - you asked ages ago about Ben's heart - he was checked over by paediatrician before we were dischareged and everything fine so no follow up. I emailed my scanning consultant to tell him about his birth and got a lovely email back

night all xx

4everhopeful · 12/01/2010 15:32
