Morning sunny ladies

Loving the West Wing love..I've only watched the first 2 seasons too scamper and LOVE it..you're right blue that it is just genius, such good writing and wit and just fab
(Btw Scamper Quentin is a wicked name, love it! )

Back is still bad..we are off to the baby outlet in Newport in a minute to buy a dream genii pillow on buddha's recommendation as just can't cope with the pain at night anymore and hoping it will help! Gonna get a birthing ball too Neeko if we find a cheap one

Barbie I lol'ed at your suggestion to only talk about little socks and teddies- definitely joining that club! love the image of you in your old lady nightie! Ooh, so exciting you're not far off now!

And YAY jools for the bd action getting the pompoms out for you!

iggy, 4ever, moon, curly and our other quiet ladies, thinking of you all xxx

Joolsiam · 23/01/2010 13:10

A belated welcome back from me too Scamper and congratulations - another fan of your chosen name here

I'm still TTC'ing and hoping for a miracle, but beginning to wonder when to stop and get on with the other things in life.

Am missing Curly and the excitement is building for Barbie )

Lion - your jiggy vibes worked Went to the gym this morning and seduced DP when I got back.... MLS - like you, I worry about whether DP will rise to the occasion at the right time - have a big smile on my face now CD13 and lashings of EWCM. I've been drinking loads of grapefruit juice at breakfast in my hotel aswell. Back there Sunday night (no rest for the wicked), so I'm hoping I will OV tomorrow ....

Right, off for a shower

Lionstar · 23/01/2010 11:49

Hi Scamper welcome back and congratulations! I LOVE the name Genevieve, it was on my list, as was Jenna as a seperate name. DP was a little unsure and fortunatley I didn't have to beat him to death with a baby name book as we ended up having a boy on 27th September.

cupcake I'm at the thought of you in a moses basket. It's a great tip to warm the mattress by removing it. Sadly DS grew out of his moses basket at 13 weeks, he is now in the big cot - don't fancy squeezing that mattress in bed with us . Good luck with the house-hunting.

lbm thanks for the headsup with the sheepskin too.

VJay I am in awe of your studying with 2 little ones, it's all I can do to cope with the housework at the moment!

Moon, hoping things are looking brighter today, just to let you know I'm thinking of you.

Also 4ever, hope you weathered the day of the funeral and are feeling on top of things now. How is that cottonwool suit doing?

Also monkey so very sorry to hear about your mum, sending you lots of hugs.

Jools lots of jiggy vibes for you, have fun!!

Barbie - almost full term, Wow!! We'll all be on labour alert from now on.

Speaking of which, hope gracie is managing OK

Big waves to everyone else. We're off to a wedding today, I have to go and wrestle DD into a dress in a minute - a less girly girl you've never come across. It will consist of lots of cajoling and plenty of bribery. I'll also have to take trousers for her to change into before she goes stir crazy with all the pink

bluesatinsash · 23/01/2010 11:10

Happy Saturday!

Scamper - you need to go to your 'my mumsnet' and upload some photos + a little bit about yourself..

Cupcake - West Wing is the greatest drama ever made (with Grey's a close second Neeko ). I loved it and have watched all seven series four times. The story lines, dialogue, characters - oh man I could go on and on...

Neeko - well we watched it last night didn't really breath the whole way through and did NOT expect the death to be who it was . did take a moment to savour the fact I was watching it ucuddling my brand new DS2 . Bringon the next 25 episodes. How is your back today? And yours cupcake? I know its cold comfort but it does literally disappear once lo is here as does heartburn, piles and sore and swollen fango (well unless you have a natural delivery .

Barbie - nearly term - OMG! Hope your tummy's tanning up nicely . You seem all set

Talking of which where are the other due in Febs? Curly must be on mat leave by now no ?

Later all xx

barbie1 · 23/01/2010 05:35

Hi scamper welcome back and also welcome to another cyber niece!....Glad you found your way back here, its nice that we have managed to keep the same name going through all of the threads, means that we are easy to find again if one does leave for short while

vjay more kudo's for you in attempting to study again...glad to know you will still be lurking and not disappearing completely, ill probably have more insane questions to ask once babybarbie finally makes an appearance

cupcake lets stick together in the total ignorance that comes with being a first time mummy no talk of poo, sick, massage or any other yukky thing, lets talk about nice thinks like little socks, teddies and tiny clothes ...see isnt that so much better?

neeko im so glad to hear that your friend and her lo are doing well, cant believe she is still in hospital though Im sure both of your lo will grow up bestest of friends!

curly any news? contractions? anything?????

Mls are you buried under the enormas stack of opk sticks still?

Well yesterday i used up the remaining of my excess enery and went hospital shopping for big pants, long nighties and nursing bra's...giving birth isnt glamourous is it? i look about 80 in my long nightie and the bras dont do much either
So now my bag is pack, the pram is washed and assembled and everything is ready.

I missed my 36 week appt due to the doctors changing the date so now im going on monday and will be more like 37 weeks and nearly considered ful term yikes!!!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend, im off to the pool, my bump is nearly bue from the lack of sun, i look like something of avatar!

back soon xxx

scamperT · 22/01/2010 23:13

Thank you for the welcome back!

sabs so lovely to hear about Saara, who arrived just 11 days after Genna. Still feel like I'm making it up as I go along 4 months on! No semblance of a routine yet altho just getting her used to the concept of falling asleep in a cot rather than on me

blue am impressed you are tackling the thank you cards already! Where's the best place to put piccies on mumsnet?

MLS I don't think I know you in rl?? I live in deptford and am married to a fella called Quentin (yes really!) which must narrow it down a bit!!! Apologies if I do actually know you in rl after all - let me know!

vjay wow - you have brain cells left over for study! Its all I can manage to buy stuff for dinner and put a load of washing on, so weldone you

cupcake hello, and congrats on being bigpants! Hopefully at 23 weeks you're getting some energy back? Ah, West Wing...have just finished series 2 and love it. Can recommend saving some for post baby viewing if you can, its perfect

Big hellos and waves to everyone. To those who arrived after I scampered off, I joined during 2008 after a miscarriage in January and then another in July. By December I was losing my sanity with ttc and had a fairly miserable xmas, little did I know that Genna was already on the way. I disappeared because I spent pretty much the whole pregnancy not believing she would make it...but here she is, and its good to be back.

Hope you all have good weekends xxx

cupcakefairy · 22/01/2010 16:34

Hi neeko great news about your friend.
I do plan on getting into Grey's at some point - a friend has all the DVDs - but I have so much else to watch too (including the beautiful complete West Wing collection that was my favourite Christmas pressie )
Thanks, I totally am going to try to get a physio apptmt but seems Cardiff is a bit crap about offering stuff like that. Everyone on MN seems to be able to see physios/get scans/have checkups whenever they want but I struggle to even get my required times with my midwife.
Called today for my 25 week app and can't get in til 26 weeks because nobody told me I should have booked it straight after my 16wk appointment. Feel so pissed off with it all. Sorry, rant over ...ooh, will def try and get to Asda too thanks.

Dh and I going for all you can eat Chinese tonight so that should lift me out of the dumps!

Neeko · 22/01/2010 13:17

Very quiet on here today. Apologies for all my typos earlier. I was racing the bell.

Blue Try Sky anytime. It might be on there.
The rest of you have to start watching Grey's - best programme on the box.

Vjay that's the way I study too. Everything else is much more inteesting when you're supposed to be studying.

MLS Hope you've not yet lost your marbles on the 2ww.

Cupcake 23 weeks - wow! Sorry to hear about your back but the crying is totally normal. Get yourself a proper appt for the doc/midwife and get referred for physio, missy!

Hi Sabs Hope things are going better with your DH.

Mermaid are those abs honed yet?

Big waves to everyone else, especially the big panters ticking off the last few days and the small panters on the horrible 2ww.

Hope all big panters who're feeling brave enough have been to Asda's baby event. Some fantastic bargains to be had, especially if it's your 1st.

I went to see my friend and her premature DS at the hospital yesterday. He's beautiful and she's coping so well considering all she's been through. They are very hopeful about him getting home within the next two weeks which will be a huge achievement and very bittersweet. I hope her DS and my little one will be good friends in the future.

bluesatinsash · 22/01/2010 10:32

Neeko - didn't know it started last night!!! !! We have it taped this coming Tuesday - it must be repeated then . Don't tell me what happens!!

Sorry folks for Grey's hijack there... .

Just quickly on whilst Benjamin sleeps. Had a rough night he was awak and either feeding/crying or regurgitating his milk from 2am to 5am

Eek! he's stirring, better shoot. Back later x

cupcakefairy · 22/01/2010 10:02

Vjay cool My Mum started an open degree when I was born, and finished it when I was at Uni ...then did her PGCE in her forties! (But I'm sure it won't take you that long!) do admire you, especially the maths part!! (My bro is doing a maths phd; I can't understand a word when he talks about it )

Neeko · 22/01/2010 08:57

Morning

Blue Well? Did you watch it? was fab. Cries so hard my nose bled

Welcome back [Scamper] and congrats on a lovely daughter

Vjay yay to joining my lovely profession

VJay · 21/01/2010 21:34

blue I've just been working so hard, now dh has passed me a small glass of wine, it's relax time now methinks

cupcake I am doing an open degree doing mainly maths courses with a bit of science thrown in for interest, once it's done I will hopefully get onto a PGCE course to teach maths Good luck with your tma for next week.

Right I'm going to have a snuggle with dh then off to bed.

cupcakefairy · 21/01/2010 20:48

Ooh x-post blue, hello yay for baby-related stationery!!

cupcakefairy · 21/01/2010 20:47

Hi all hi scamper we haven't met before...I joined the thread around April 09 and am 23 weeks pregnant now. Nice to meet you, and little genna

Barbie I'm so glad you about yellow poos and perineum massage and everything else along with me! Last week at some friends' for dinner they got out all their types of reusable nappies and literally over the dinner table made us feel them and explained in great detail about how you use them, what you do with the poo, how to store the basket so it doesn't smell etc... not my kind of dinner conversation! Yeah think I will be getting dh to do the honours with the massage! Although when I mentioned it last night his response was 'but I don't want you to get all stretchy down there'

Vjay you ARE superwoman impressed at the organisation. Are you studying to be a teacher? I have an OU assignment due next week so in theory should be keeping my head down but I'll probably be on here more than ever!

Where is Curly? If you're lurking lovely hope you're enjoying some well-earned time off.

Thanks for the update on Gracie, barbie

4ever you're a bit quiet, hope you're ok and recovering from your shock

And to all our yummy mummies probably lurking with one hand feeding baby, thinking of you!

My back is worse today had zero sleep last night and when dh woke up he jokingly said 'Look how much space I had to sleep in last night!' pointing at the sliver of mattress on his side and I burst into tears

Saw a gorgeous house tonight but is only a 6 month rental so don't think we can go for it, unless we want to move again with a 4 month-old .. some more hopefuls to see this weekend though.

bluesatinsash · 21/01/2010 20:36

Hi and congratulations Scamper and belated welcome Genevieve - what an absolutely beautiful name . Piccies please!!

Of course we remember you and I will always remember a couple of your posts to me last January which gave me hope after my 2nd MMC. Barbie looked for you in the Spring via search but you'd - ahem - scampered .

Vjay - I think the pencils have been sharpened enough missy! Down to work!

Sabs - baby massage is great and fab way to meet other Mum's .

My photo thank-you cards arrived today so I'm off downstiars to start them - 32 to do so far - eeek! Post-baby admin - its like my wedding all over again minus the hot sex .

Sabs1981 · 21/01/2010 18:22

oh scamper soooo nice to see you and congratulations!!!

To save you from some of the reading I had a baby girl on Sept 30th. Her name is Saara

Don't be about going AWOL - nice to have you back

mermaidspurse · 21/01/2010 17:50

scamper and little genna we need some more little girls on here!

so pleased that everything turned out so pink and rosy for you.x

VJay · 21/01/2010 17:34

hiya scamper I remember you , huge congratulations on your little Genna . Do you know mls in rl?

See I told you all it wouldn't take long for me to be back, 1 day of study and I'm back here

OP posts:
MummyLovesSadie · 21/01/2010 17:06

Eeek Scamper do I know you in rl????

scamperT · 21/01/2010 16:47

hey ladies, I hope some of you will remember me, and can forgive me for going completely AWOL several months back.

I have been trying to read through all 588 posts on this thread to catch up with you all!!

Baby girl scamper (baby real name Genevieve, which quickly became Genna) was born on 19th September 2009.

So happy to read of other safe arrivals and BFPs, also sad to hear of lost little ones. I have thought about you all a lot, and decided it was finally time to get over my at going AWOL, and come back to say hello and introduce you to Genna.

Wishing everyone a belated happy new year xxx

barbie1 · 21/01/2010 15:26

oh it was neeko who said about the poo! sorry vjay!

barbie1 · 21/01/2010 15:24

Hi girls...just about to have a bbq

Just spoke to mrskate via sabs who said gg is fine, she had a few contractions last week but they have stopped and kate will be catching up with her next week.....so no new additions to report yet....

I think i might of just put dh off chicken korma after vjays post ha ha...

Neeko · 21/01/2010 14:37

MLS That's ridiculous. Really hope you never need another one.

Iggy Mine have lasted me for ages. Just on my 3rd size now and hoping they'll do me after birth too.

Vjay we think you're wonderful, even if you don't agree

iggypiggy · 21/01/2010 11:30

neeko thanks - I have ordered a royce one! I couldn't find any hotmilk ones in my size when I looked on Figleaves...
