OK I have just worked out that if my next cycle is the same length as this one was then I will actually be due 1st October if I get pg so rather than sitting at the back of the September bus I thought I might skip straight ahead to the next one lol.

Plenty of chocolate and biscuits ready for the journey

lol

Lorelai · 09/01/2010 10:04

Oh yes, forgot to mention that I don't even think I will be ovulating till early next week, (and AF only finished on Wednesday!), so highly unlikely I am pg

addictedtomn · 09/01/2010 09:37

lorelai your not the only one , had spot bleading last night, but by my calculations i'm ovulating some time this week, so too early for implantation bleeding

Lorelai · 09/01/2010 08:16

Ok, this is ridiculous! Less than 12 hours since I could conceivably have conceived and I am already symptom spotting - Gah!!

I have decided to test on the 25th seeing as that was the date I stopped taking the pill as I have as yet no AF as I NEED to know if I am pregnant, can't do the wait as see thing! Feels like such a long way away.
Sending good implantation vibes down the bus

maamalady · 08/01/2010 19:00

Withdrawal bleed ended on Wednesday, so SWI (not seen that one before!) started last night! Shouldn't be a problem getting through the next few weeks but I can see myself getting quite anxious towards the end of the month, especially as I have no idea when my first real AF in years will turn up (assuming I don't catch first time!).

Lorelai · 08/01/2010 18:34

Ooops - was meaning to hand you a biscuit, but misspelled it! Have some choccies instead

Lorelai · 08/01/2010 18:33

Here digitalgirl, I think you need this - [bicuit]

In terms of due date, I think that it is more to do with counting from last period - when I use the ovulation calculator on here, I get a range of fertile dates, but one due date, which is the same whatever cycle length I put it. And of course, it is difficult to know exactly what day you conceive - ie the day you 'DTD' might not be the same day as sperm meets egg, so to speak!

digitalgirl · 08/01/2010 15:47

I'm so bored of this period already. TMI but why have I still got red blood on day 6? Looks like it's going to be a long cycle.

I still stand by my calculation that anyone who conceives today will have a 1st October due date. I conceived DS on 31st December and his due date was 23rd September.

heading4home · 08/01/2010 14:23

SWI = Shagging with intent

addictedtomn · 08/01/2010 12:46

BUnderTheBonnet, mine increases the day before my period starts and then while i'm on a period. fat lot of good that does!

BD is baby dancing (sex)
BFP/BFN is Big Fat Positive/Big Fat Negitive

but what is SWI???

BUnderTheBonnet · 08/01/2010 12:07

Thanks heading4home. That'll be it for a couple of days though... If I've conceived this month, that might be it for the forseeable future .

OK, so DTD stands for Did The Deed, but what does BD stand for??? And BFP/BFN? I know what they mean, but not the actual words the letters stand for.

heading4home · 08/01/2010 11:52

BUnderTheBonnet - I think they advise SWI every other day so that the male participant can build up his semen again. However, Zita West says in "Getting Pregnant" that this isn't necessary and you should do it as often as poss. So grab your opportunities where you can, I'd say!

Twice in one day is very impressive! Sadly cannot remember the last time we did that....certainly pre-dd who is now 5!

CD4 for me today, so just a couple more days before we can go for it this month

BUnderTheBonnet · 08/01/2010 10:59

Addicted that's interesting - I think my sex drive decreases when I ovulate too! It's at a peak just before my period, which is useless .

Mind you, was going to ask, I was at home yesterday because of the snow, as was my dh, and we DTD twice!!!! Was like being back at uni Now I know the advice is to BD every two to three days, so can anyone explain to me why "as often as possible" isn't desirable, except for the obvious fatigue factor...

I'm at home again today, so I've got nothing to do except spot symptoms. I've never been so aware of my boobs.

Lorelai · 08/01/2010 10:32

Addicted - I have indeed! I soooo want to be Lorelai and live in Stars Hollow!

kkas · 08/01/2010 10:04

shelleee have a nice time in London with the DH

addictedtomn · 08/01/2010 09:33

ohh shelee what are you going to see? i went to see wicked on boxing day it was amazing!

Lorelai i was going to ask if you'd named your self after the gilmore girls, i love that programme and both lorelai's.

nicky i might have to start temping too, or use ov sticks, it would seem that my sexdrive de-creases around the same time i ovulate... i know thats not right, so maybe i'm not ovulating when i think i am. i'm all confused!

nancydrewrocks · 08/01/2010 09:08

Ilove no waiting here - far to impatient and really don't see the point!

Wishing you (and everyone else) lots of luck!

hi everyone , thanks for yr kind words glad im not the only person who feels a bit jealous of new babies ,anyway i feel a bit cheerier now as im off to london for the weekend with dp to see a show , he booked it all for my christmas present , im really looking forward to it now ,what a lucky girl i am xx

jennimoo · 07/01/2010 20:34

Nicky, I was going to suggest charting temperatures too. I bought a thermometer for about £5 online, and have been charting on fertility friend website. It has given me some confidence that I am ovulating, and when, to give me the best chance of getting pg. Hopefully it will help this month!
Good luck!

decafgirl · 07/01/2010 19:08

You could try taking your temperature next cycle - you get a temp shift if you ovulate. It's probably best to get an overview of about 3 cycles. You'll need a sensitive thermometer - boots sell a little kit for about £12 xx

nickymorris · 07/01/2010 18:50

I want to ask a stupid question and thought that you lovely fellow bus-riders might know the answer...

Am I actually ovulating?

I'm still breastfeeding DS1, although only at night now and my periods returned 4 cycles ago. However they're really short now - used to be 5 days long now barely 2. This could mean that I should be celebrating having almost convenient periods. But I've suddenly started wondering if it might mean that I'm merely making a big of lining and getting rid of it each month, without actually ovulating...

Any thoughts on how I could find out? Or whether the fact that I've had 4 periods now means that I will have restarted ovulating so should stop being silly...

Thanks

decafgirl · 07/01/2010 18:11

Hello to all the lovely newbies, welcome aboard! Hope you're all enjoying the snow - just noticed the most enormous icicles hanging from our roof & am obsessed someone might walk under them and at that very moment one will fall and kill them...

Just proving it's not just ttc I obsess about!

Oh, said fatal victim would have to have strayed up our driveway too... xxx
