OK I have just worked out that if my next cycle is the same length as this one was then I will actually be due 1st October if I get pg so rather than sitting at the back of the September bus I thought I might skip straight ahead to the next one lol.

Plenty of chocolate and biscuits ready for the journey

jennimoo - I read somewhere that - potassium (lots in bananas) & zinc increases the odds for conceiving a boy, calcium & magnesium for a girl. Quite possibly complete rubbish ...

(I have 3 boys)

jennimoo · 10/01/2010 17:33

For me it's crocheting and knitting, but mostly things for everyone elses LOs! And I've done so much this last week, what with all the snow, I have RSI and have had to take a couple of days off!

Lorelai · 10/01/2010 17:29

I know what you mean lucybrad - I am the same. Have been throwing my energies into baking - blueberry muffin anyone?

lucybrad · 10/01/2010 13:40

thanks for your kind words everyone. I have very little patience and dont like waiting for anything. Ill be exactly the same when i get pg - waiting for the birth!!!

jennimoo · 10/01/2010 10:59

Silverboots - why no bananas?

SilverBoots · 10/01/2010 10:57

Morning all!

Hope everyone isn't too snowed in, then again, maybe it will result in a baby boom in 9 months time?

ILoveGH - knowing when to stop DTD is a problem ... ov varies for me, anything from day 14-17. I've been reading up about diet, have banned bananas & tried upping calcium intake, but nothing more radical than that!

Good morning all!
I'm hopping on the bus this month and looking forward to your company for this journey... DC1 took 25 cycles to conceive but we got there eventually. Exciting but also a bit daunting to do it again, although I always have the mad hope that this month will be THE month. Hope dies last!

Sorry lucy, know how you feel.

Now, who is doing shettles - silverboots? Are you being very "religious" about it (sorry poor word choice there)? I bravely thought we'd go up to Day 13, but that's today and I'm not so sure now.

Hope everyone else is having fun.

BUnderTheBonnet · 10/01/2010 01:56

Sorry AF got you Lucybrad

I've been stroppy all day today - premenstrual??? Maybe see you on the November bus!

addictedtomn · 09/01/2010 21:45

oh lucybrad i am so sorry, i really hope it happens for you soon.

jennimoo · 09/01/2010 20:45

I know what you mean ladybee, my dh seems just as keen on having the baby as me, but laughs at me for temping, keeping track of things, and planning the bd with military precision! He is starting to read What To Expect under protest, and managed about 2 pages! My keen-ness to do everything I can to get pg quick is partly that I know now is a good time work-wise as I'd be able to get back to work before my contract ends, in time to get another job, but men don't seem to understand how difficult it can be with jobs, it doesn't have anywhere near the impact on them!
Sorry for a moan!

LadyBee · 09/01/2010 20:22

Sorry Lucybrad, it's gutting isn't it? And just very unfair.
There isn't any reason why some people strike first time - and as far as you know at the moment, no reason why you haven't. Does it make it any better to know that even if you get everything right, sperm meets egg blahdiblah, there's still only 20-25% chance of conception? For some reason I find that helps me remember that as much as I try, it's still not something that's really in my control.

Actually, I was thinking about this the other night letting DH know we'd be heading into 'active' time soon. I always feel like I'm initiating things at the moment, and actually he wants this baby as much as I do, so really...he ought to be the one persuading me to DTD as much as possible. As far as I know I'm ovulating and I'm taking my folic acid, no caffeine - that's pretty much all I can do..the rest is basically up to him. So why does it feel like this is all my responsibility??

Lorelai · 09/01/2010 19:31

you will get there lucybrad. I haven't been in your situation myself, so can only really offer sympathy, but take as much of that as you need.

lucybrad · 09/01/2010 19:05

i could cry. Why can some people get pg month 1???? why cant it be me.

lucybrad · 09/01/2010 18:43

maamalady · 09/01/2010 17:30

Mine is finding it quite fun so far although is somewhat optimistic - ie bleed stopped on Wednesday and have BD twice since then, and when I cooked chips last night as I was still hungry after tea he said "well you're probably eating for two", cheeky bugger! As I am hugely unlikely to be preggers already I am evidently just a piggy

digitalgirl · 09/01/2010 17:23

Thanks for the s lorelai.

Lol at obsessing on symptons already.

Am on brown now, so AF is finally on it's way out. Yay.

Asked DH if we should try a bit harder this cycle (ie more sex please). He didn't think so

Lorelai · 09/01/2010 17:15

Yeah, DH is worse than me - think I might have to give him a biology lesson - told him the other day that I had started taking folic acid in preparation, all he knew about it was that last time I started taking it after I was pg, so thought it meant I was already - had to point out that I had only told him the day before that I had my period - honestly!!

BUnderTheBonnet · 09/01/2010 17:09

LOL!

Many, many symtpoms here too. Can't remember if I had them before now...

I'm obsessed with my boobs, cos they were my first obviously pregnant sign, even when I was getting BFNs with my dd. I inspect them on a regular basis

However, I have no pregnancy tests in the house, to stop me doing a ridiculously early test.

My dh is just as bad as me. He raises his eyebrows everytime I go for a wee or anything. Might have to thump him...

Lorelai · 09/01/2010 17:02

Ooops, sorry about double post

Lorelai · 09/01/2010 17:01

Yes, not sure we would be on this thread if we weren't! I dread to think what my best friend will be like when she starts TTC - she is far worse than me

Its funny, coz before I had DD I never dreamed that I would get pg by accident - which really helped with the denial when I did - had loads of symptoms but managed to convince myself they were anything other than pregnancy. Now I am equally as convinced that I will have problems this time - does that mean I will do the same or opposite with any potential symptoms think I will drive myself mad

addictedtomn · 09/01/2010 16:41

lol i think its safe to say the majority of us are obsessive!

even when me and dh werent trying and using contraception i was symptom spotting and thinking well its not 100% efective so there is always a chance

i'm starting to get really nervous now my gyne appointment is next week, and i dont want to go...well i do and i dont iykwim

stuffedmk · 09/01/2010 16:29

I have sore boobies lol
Can't help getting hopes up!!!
