OK I have just worked out that if my next cycle is the same length as this one was then I will actually be due 1st October if I get pg so rather than sitting at the back of the September bus I thought I might skip straight ahead to the next one lol.

Plenty of chocolate and biscuits ready for the journey

Hello- I'm back from work and now skiving housework having a rest and catching up.

For those of you I havent had this conversation with I'll tell my story so far!
18m ago I had treatment for endo I was then on the pill for a year to keep it at bay. Since TTC my periods have got heavier and more painful which makes me suspect the endo is returning. I mentioned it at the GP and he suggested testing for problems now as if the endo does return it will make TTC v difficult. So I had bloods done last month which showed I hadnt ovulated. DH did his bit last week and on Friday we are back at GP for his results. My dds are from my previous marriage and he has no kids so we have no past history to go with him! GP said he will probably refer us if DH is ok. IF he isnt we have more to think about as I dont know what options that leaves us.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 13/01/2010 16:10

addicted that's fascinating. How are/will pregnancies be monitored -scans, appointments etc?

lucybrad my doc said very simialr thing to me about age and having had other dcs already. I assume you had the day 3 bloods taken today?

lucybrad · 13/01/2010 16:04

right, afternoon everyone. For those that expressed an interest, I had my doctors appointment earlier.

(my history - 38 years, already have twin boys aged 5 - which took 6 months to conceive. I have now started cycle 5 ttc number 3)

Anywhoo I said that i wasnt getting pg and she asked how long id been trying etc etc, and then she said that there was no harm in having bloods done, being as I am 38, and she doesnt mind doing DH sperm test, if the bloods come back ok. So thats good news , as i thought she would send me off and get me to keep on trying. Got to go back approx day 21 now and have the other bloods taken. Feel good that something is being done.

She also said there was no reason for me not to have a baby well into my 40's, and that since I have already had a baby it was 'safer'than if i'd never had any. she also said because i dont have probs with my periods, and have not had anyother partners except DH for years that there is little chance of my tubes being blocked. Fingers crossed shes right!

addictedtomn · 13/01/2010 15:07

bessi keep positive, it might happen yet

addictedtomn · 13/01/2010 15:06

lady bee, and every one else who's intrested, i have a wall down the middle, the condition is called a septate uterus. mine is quite bad as it goes all the way down practally seperating the two sides from each other. the thing is that the wall isnt the same as the other walls in the uterus, so this wall doesnt give the baby any nuteriants or blood that it needs to grow resulting in a higher chance of mc.

it also means that if i do eventually get pregnant and carry full term, i will have a small baby, it will be born prem as there wont be enough room for it to grow or to turn so it will be breach and have to be delivered via c-section.

this ttc bit is the easiest bit for me!

Bessie123 · 13/01/2010 14:11

Well, it looks like I will be moving from the front of the October bus to the back. I have period cramps and a little bit of period show (sorry if TMI). I will update my stats when it's more official that I am never going to get pregnant

Lorelai · 13/01/2010 13:59

Sorry, meant if you get pg easily not of! Bloody iPhone and its spelling corrections.

Lorelai · 13/01/2010 13:54

I quite fancy twins actually! In fact, that stat got me so excited that I will almost be disappointed if I don't get twins if and when I do get pg!

It's also more likely if you get of easily, and I did last time, so if I get pg this month then who knows? No family history of twins though.

Am also intrigued by the uteri...

QueenFee · 13/01/2010 13:46

lorelai ahhhh is that right help! I already have a family history of twins!

Ladybee glad your feeling better about things.

(hanging around, also intriegued about uteri!)

LadyBee · 13/01/2010 13:22

addictedtomn - that is extraordinary, do you just have the two ovaries? and two fallopian tubes? and is it just luck where the egg might end up or do they take turns? Sorry just very interested in your uteri

Had a lovely chat with DH last night about what a difficult mental 'game' this all is. Trying not to get too worked up about it, but also keeping track of when fertile window is, etc etc. We both agreed that although we do definitely want this second baby (and possibly more if we can), that if it takes 6 months or 5 years it would be ok. Obviously each thing has an impact on jobs/childcare/family dynamic and choices about whether to pursue assisted conception would I guess be made along the way, but it was just reassuring and helped me to feel a bit less 'desperate'. It builds up each time we get close to the fertile time and all the 'maybe this time' thoughts crowd in. Good to regain a bit of perspective.

Lorelai · 13/01/2010 11:16

Funny you should mention twins - I saw on another thread that getting pg while bf makes twins 9 times more likely! Haven't told DH yet as don't want to freak him out

BUnder, dont get me started on that one!

i efectivly have 2 uterus's (or would the plural be uteri?) anyway, i was talking to my mum about a week ago, (who is incedently 20 weeks pregnant ) and she said but what if your already pregnant and your last perid was from your 2nd uterus, you could be 3 months pregnant already, cue me saying no dont be silly, that couldnt happen, could it? so i then i go and buy 2 first responce tests and 2 cb digital tests to find out. all negitive btw!!

digitalgirl · 13/01/2010 09:40

queenfee Gosh three under 18mo would def be harder than average work. Think of all the nappy changes!

QueenFee · 12/01/2010 22:44

I am trying to work my cycle out as no AF. If I was to class christmas day as day 1 of my cycle as that was the first day off the pill and I normally have a 28 day cycle that make me on CD 17? Therefore I am on the 2ww

I am also sympton spotting which is even weirder for me! Felt very sick this am after drinking tea which is usually my 1st symptom...

digital looking forward to the arrival of your medical marvels!

talking of twins does anyone have a high chance of conceiving twins?

I might just freak out if I had twins as no 4 is supposed to be my last, and that would mean I had 3 under 18 months

digitalgirl · 12/01/2010 22:35

lol lorelai at 'could do with a years holiday'

digitalgirl · 12/01/2010 22:31

BUnder I know that one. Was convinced throughout entire period just gone that it was a ridiculously heavy implantation bleed because right up till cd8 I had a 'heavy' feeling in my womb. Along with the occasional twinge in my left boob. So clearly I am pregnant already.

But actually am ewcm-spotting. So am also about to ovulate. I think I'm going to be one of those medical marvels by conceiving twins one month apart. Technically I could still give birth to both on the same day, one would be two weeks early. The other two weeks overdue. I have it all worked out y'see.

BUnderTheBonnet · 12/01/2010 20:22

I went insane earlier.

I had a bubbly feeling in my stomach (ie wind) BUT the though went through my head (honestly...) "what if I actually got pg 4 months ago by accident, and have been having rogue periods, and that was a baby kicking?"

Oh dear oh dear.

I have also "smelt a weird smell", had sore boobs, felt ever so slightly nauseous and a little bit light headed today.

I am irritating myself.

Anyone else got embarassingly unlikely "symptoms"?

maamalady · 12/01/2010 19:43

Hmm, I had some bleeding earlier today, not quite sure what it was. It is now two weeks since I stopped the pill so think it's unlikely to be AF so soon, but who knows. It was such a small amount it has me unsure if it's AF, but it might be that AF turns up in force later on. I suppose mystery happenings are to be expected given that my cycles haven't been left to their own devices for a long time! I am trying really hard not to think "implantation bleed" as that is really so unlikely it's just silly!

Lorelai · 12/01/2010 19:41

funnily enough BUnderTheBonnet, I have been thinking exactly the same! I could really do with a year's holiday

BUnderTheBonnet · 12/01/2010 19:40

Wow it's filling up in here!

Work was crap today. Never mind getting pregnant, I'm impatient for maternity leave to start!

Lorelai · 12/01/2010 19:39
