OK I have just worked out that if my next cycle is the same length as this one was then I will actually be due 1st October if I get pg so rather than sitting at the back of the September bus I thought I might skip straight ahead to the next one lol.

Plenty of chocolate and biscuits ready for the journey

I was going to leave out my suggestion that you smack her in the face but what the hell, smack her in the face. That'll teach her to be smug.

Bessie123 · 20/01/2010 10:32

sparechange I think that's quite common, especially (I have noticed) with smug, uptight or generally annoying women.

sparechange · 20/01/2010 10:30

Hi Nancy,
Sorry to hear that. There must be something in the air this week

My colleague has just been telling me how easy it was for her to get pregnant (she doesn't know I'm trying) and how she was disappointed she didn't get the chance to 'try' for longer as her DH was gearing himself up for shagging marathons!

She said they decided one day to give it a go, she stopped taking her pill that weekend, ov'd the next week and got pg.

I'm doing my very best 'oh wow, that sounds so easy' face while sobbing inside

Bessie123 · 20/01/2010 10:28

Ah, thanks, stuffed. I keep popping back to see how you are all doing.

stuffedmk · 20/01/2010 10:13

I agree with Eadwacer. If it's truely bad then it's the head in trouble. Your DH job should be safe. I know it's tough but hang in there. I'm sure it'll be over today or tomorrow. It's just the aftermath that is left to deal with, which will be targets to head towards. If the management are proactive then those will be met quickly.

All the best

Eadwacer · 20/01/2010 09:46

nypmh I'm so sorry. Pals who are teachers get driven to the edge by OFSTED - and none of them are in especially high positions, where it's all worse.

FWIW I'm not sure that a not-too-great OFTSED report would threaten a job. It would need to be truly damning for that to happen - proper mismanagement and irresponsible running of the school etc. - and I imainge if things were that bad, you'd've known about it for months...

sure that's no consolation though. Hope you can stay calm - all this doesn't help the TTC does it?

addictedtomn · 20/01/2010 09:21

nymph i just wish we could say something to make it all better, but words just dont do that do they. ofsted are a pain, its probably going fine but the stress of having them there everyday and breathing down his neck to see this that and the other is probably getting to him. (i used to be a childminder and 1 day was hard enough)

mornig all and welcome kawaiiko, i also thought that getting pregnant was easy, my school teachers and parents always said, if you dont use contraception, you will get pregnant well i'm not using contraception and i'm not pregnant now. how i wish i could go back and tell them they were wrong!

well i caved and took a test this morning it was negitive so just waiting for af to turn up now then i will be joining you at the back of the bus i think.

Fairygodmother1 · 20/01/2010 08:50

nymph did you say it was OFSTED? We had them not long ago & it wasn't good news. I'm guessing he's higher up than a classroom teacher. I spoke to DH about how I thought it was going.

Yes it's bloody hard work now we've got so many changes (and prob the reason I'm finding it hard TTC) but the changes have been for the best looking back.

Sorry your feeling so stressed. As I said TTC doesn't help the stress levels.

best of luck

randomimposter · 20/01/2010 08:08

hi nymph popped over from Sept to see how you were doing - sorry all so stressy at the mo.... Dunno if you're watching CBB but in the words of Ivana... it is what it is... Am willing that all will be fine for you.

HUGE bus BTW, and a grad already?

Good luck everyone.

nymphadora · 20/01/2010 07:58

Was awake at 5 this am when dh kissed me goodbye, v worried about him, never seen him so stressed, dint think it's going well and he can't tell me anything. Am now making myself ill worrying about him. I never expected it to go anything other than straightforward so now I've gone to the other end worrying about how safe his job is.

Most of my friends work with him so I have no one to talk to about this either. So might just be worrying on here today.

Lorelai · 20/01/2010 07:25

Hello all, af's got me, time for me to hop on the October bus! I'll be temping and using ov sticks for the first times and so doubtless will have lots of daft questions. I've concluded the I have NO FRICKING CLUE when I ovulate. Before all this ttc lark I thought conception was oh so simple...how wrong I was! My cycle has been a different length every month since I started counting.

Sorry. Hormones all over the place, horrible cramps all day and, of course, no bfp

Hi, I'm just joining in with the symptom spotters!

I've felt sick for about 4 days now and the only thing that helps is eating (that was my first sign before AF was even late with DS) my boobs are a bit tender but perhaps I should stop squeezing them just to check!! I have a ridiculously sweet tooth but just the thought of chocolate makes me want to puke. What do you reckon? Preggers or mental?

digitalgirl · 19/01/2010 20:23

Sorry for those trudging to the back of the bus. Cd1&2 is always the worst.

Have been cramping a little today. But it's way too early for it to mean anything, will be really surprised if my period comes early as it lasted nearly 8 days this cycle so can't have ovulated earlier.

Also have big hair (that well known pg symptom). But that could be from a hasty session with the hairdryer this morning.

QueenFee · 19/01/2010 18:33

Sorry for those of you who have had to suffer a visit fm AF

I have felt sick and tired and am trying not to symptom spot think about it. Guess it could be AF about to arrive

addictedtomn · 19/01/2010 18:22

i forgot to say, i may be joining you at the back of the bus, i've been having painfull cramps today but no af... could it be a pregnancy symptom??another one to add to the list of symptoms i think, cramping but no af (and its nothing to do with the fact i'm due!)

i will not test till friday, i will not test till friday, i will not test till friday...

addictedtomn · 19/01/2010 18:19

BUnderTheBonnet as smallblackflowers says they show when your about to ovulate, ie with in the next 48 hours, but some times they can be hard to read because (well mine anyway) start off with a faint positive and get stronger and stronger, but its a negitive unless the line is as dark as the test line. i used them the first time we were ttc, and found they were really helpfull (especially as for me i then knew af would turn up 14 days later) but this time around i havent got around to getting them

i prefered the digital tests (but are really expensive) as they tell you when its positive rather than trying to work it out for yourself, i used to use the normal untill it was getting stronger then use the digital untill i got a positive.

smallblackflowers · 19/01/2010 17:40

Bunderthebonnet - they tell you that you 'may' ovulate in the next 48 hours, as they measure a hormone surge that should trigger the release of an egg, but doesn't always.

You also have to do them at the right time of day to catch the surge as it is a pretty fleeting thing, I use them and very rarely have been told that I'm about to ov even though my temping tells me that I have.
Ask away if you have any more questions as I know a bit about them!
