OK I have just worked out that if my next cycle is the same length as this one was then I will actually be due 1st October if I get pg so rather than sitting at the back of the September bus I thought I might skip straight ahead to the next one lol.

Plenty of chocolate and biscuits ready for the journey

Lorelai I think I get more than one "batch" of EWCM some months too. What's that all about then? Anyone know?

Lorelai · 20/01/2010 20:22

Hi all. Sorry to hear about your DH's problems nymph - fingers crossed it works out ok.

Smallblackflowers - interesting what you are saying about bf and short luteal phase - I am also breastfeeding (although only once a day most of the time), and I think I just spotted some EWCM, with only 7 or so days left in my cycle (thought I saw some last week, but not so sure now) - could my lp be that short? And will that automatically make it harder to get pg?

Fairygodmother1 · 20/01/2010 20:20

There's nothing I can say to help really. Like I said I'm sure they'll give targets to reach. Bloody OFSTED!!!!! We'll just be here to give you supportive words when needed. It's an eye opener to see it from the side of the spouse - when they are in you are so caught up in it that I never thought what DH must be going through when I get home from their visit.

Good luck with the TTC (now thinking that OFSTED are almost like contraceptives - a friend of mine has fallen preg after each visit! Shame it hasn't worked for me, still TTC #1 after 2 years!!!!)

nymphadora · 20/01/2010 20:05

He still has it for now, cant say anymore.will be definate by next week.

Still wants to TTC

Thanks fairy and others for being supportive today

Fairygodmother1 · 20/01/2010 19:47

Oh no nymph!!!!! Wanna say "What happened?" but know that you know too little or can't say anything at all! AARRGGHHH!!! I hope that it can be sorted out.

BUnderTheBonnet · 20/01/2010 19:46

Ov sticks arrived - thanks everyone who told me how they work! Down to some serious hard work (for dh) this month. Only problem is, if we're really trying, it'll be even more disappointing if it doesn't work.

I think I conceived in the car last time...maybe try that again

Supportive vibes out to everyone with AF/other rubbish stuff.

smallblackflowers · 20/01/2010 17:32

Ilovegregoryhouse thanks for your reply - not had any bloods done as only just realised the gravity of my short lp situation. Have been taking agnus castus for about 3 months - think that was what kick started AF's return, so will keep on with them too.

Am feeling a bit cheerier after a big strawberry milkshake with a friend.

hehe you dont have to post the results, but i think its quite funny

BUnderTheBonnet · 20/01/2010 15:58

Lord, isn't it depressing here today? Drive the bus to Cadbury's World!!!

I'm a teacher too - OfSTED suck.

I was one of those annoying women who conceived before they'd even ben trying for a month with my dd. I feel like smacking myself in the face now - I wonder how many people I really pissed off???

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/01/2010 15:23

sbflowers, have you had the day 3 and day 21 bloods done? Short LP is also caused by low progesterone and these bloods should test that as well as your prolactin levels.. The other thing that is supposed to help regulate your cycle, apart from B6 is agnus castus taken from CD1 to ovulation. Don't know how that affects bf though.

nymph, hope that ofsted visit has a good outcome.

So, who is poas when? Am holding out for Sunday but may crumble and go Saturday. Got spotting today which I hope is implantation bleed and Saturday is 3 days from now...But I did promise myslef to wait until after missed AF (if...) and hopefully save a fortune on tests. Maybe I'll wait for you SilverBoots?

smallblackflowers · 20/01/2010 13:43

Hi all, I'm feeling pretty down in the dumps today, spotting heavily and temps dropped below cover line on 8DPO, so pretty sure that with a 10 day Luteal phase last cycle and similar again this cycle that my LP is too short to sustain a pregnancy.

Spent last night googling like mad and have discovered that this is prob happening because of my high prolactin levels from breastfeeding.

Plan of action is to drop 1 feed to 3 per day and to start taking 100mg of vit B per day (supposed to help with this prob).

If this doesn't sort out my next cycle I'll go to GP and see if he'll prescribe something to help that will allow me to continue breastfeeding.

I'm just feeling thankful that I'm temping so have identified this problem pretty early. Every cloud eh.....

nymph sorry to hear you are feeling down, I really hope that things turn around for you soon. [hugs]

Armi · 20/01/2010 13:10

Afternoon, all. Have fiddled with the stats - am now on Day 2 of what feels like cycle 567 but is in fact cycle 8.

Hope all goes well with the OFSTED inspection - I'm a teacher and would rather poke my own eyes out with a rusty nail than have that lot snuffling through my paperwork and critiquing my teaching.

I worked there before he did hence the friends!

I love these threads , they aren't just ttc support everyone seems to support you in anything

thanks everyone

Fairygodmother1 · 20/01/2010 11:46

Special measures...we lost our head but their management skills were bad & we had complained to LEA whoi claimed that we had no right to go against the head, it was 'unprofessional'.
There were other issues, such as the school needed revamping as we've had an influx of new staff but still set in the old ways. There's def a breath of fresh air now in our school.
By the sounds of it your friends all work there & you have a close relationship with them so therefore they see your DH as an excellent head.
xx

nymphadora · 20/01/2010 11:41

SM school?

nymphadora · 20/01/2010 11:36

Should have preliminary report tonight. Last time I was working there so knew something at the time but this is v difficult

Fairygodmother1 · 20/01/2010 11:32

I bet you are. Satisfactory would be better than the unmentionable. He doesn't sound lazy & he's prob feeling for his staff, which to me sounds like a very good head. I hope it's fantastic news as that would take the pressure off.
I'm a teacher at an SM school. The stress of that is not helping towards getting PG but I'm stuck there. I bet that this hasn't helped you situation either.
It's funny how work life has such an effect on private lives.
I don't think they get told the results still after 4pm today so I think you're gonna be sitting on tender hooks for a while.

Finishes today hut if they get satisfactory or less it will be a long slog . Hoping I am worrying more than I need and he has just been giving off negative vibes

Fairygodmother1 · 20/01/2010 11:16

Nymph no wonder he's not telling you anything. I suggest a nice glass of wine for this occasion when he gets home. I'm sure he'll be fine. If he's working his butt off & is worried then I think he's a good head & will get through fine. How long they been there? Has he dropped any clues. No wonder he's so stressed!

sparechange Smack her inside! Yep I hate women like that! They'll never understand how crumpled you are inside!
Keep smiling.

nymphadora · 20/01/2010 11:11

fairygodmother he is the head

sparechange · 20/01/2010 10:59

Bessie, I don't think she was doing it do be smug. She genuinely doesn't know I'm trying and I think it really was just that easy for her.

Doesn't stop me wanting to smack her though
