Thought I'd get a new thread started as we seem to have run out of space

Let's hope this one brings us all lots of luck!

gypsymummy - yes you can use the monitor over and over again, i have been using the thing for approx 7 cycles now. you just need to keep getting new packs of test sticks obviously, they can be got cheaper on amazon or ebay. hope this helps.

gypsymummy · 19/01/2010 09:25

Thanks vikks and gina84uk! i appreciate your help!..still not sure but i guess proof is in the pudding! my cycles are never over 29 days but sometimes can be as short as 25 days..can i also ask can i use the monitor again and again unlike a pregnancy test just the once? sorry if i sound totally ignorant..just never seen or used one and i am guessing i do need to now!

Vikks · 19/01/2010 00:08

gypsymummy - If your cycles are over 42 days then the CBFM might not work for you, anything under that and I can highly recommend it. As Gina said it picks up on your hormone levels so if you OV day 16 one month and 26 the next, it?s going to detect it. It just take out all the stress of not know when to BD. You know exactly when you should be doing the deed and it saves killing DH! Hope that helps.

Gina - My scan showed that I still need more Meds! I can?t believe how much I?ve had this month. I?ve got another scan on Wednesday and the nurse thinks my IUI will be Thursday or Friday. Finger crosses!

gina84uk · 18/01/2010 14:45

hi gypsymummy the cbfm work's by reading your hormone level's you start the fm on the first day of you cycles,so if you press the button at 9am you have a 6hr window to test from 6am till 12pm every day.the fm will tell you on cd6 to start testing and when to stop.i have irregular cycle's to and this is my second cycle with the fm and i got 2 peak day's on cd23/24 so iam on the 2ww
so as you can see iam still learning lol
but iam sure the other girl's will fill you in on more

vikks how are you today?, did you have your scan?

Vikks · 18/01/2010 09:18

MadameG Congratulations!!!

That's amazing news, I'm soooo happy for you!

You give us all hope. Did you have any symptoms at all? We need all the details.....

MadameG · 18/01/2010 07:28

Well- I am back with some news, having never even switched the CBFM on- was waiting for my AF. I did four pregnancy tests last night and they were all positive!

Can't get my head around it. Me and hubby had only been trying for a month and I was convinced it would be a long and winding road! I keep thinking maybe the tests were defective and wanting to do about 4 more but hubby keeps telling me to calm down and accept what they say. Can't believe it!!!

We're getting a Clearblue digital test today to 'confirm' it, if you like- well, they say how pregnant you are which would be nice to know.

I'm totally in shock right now!!!

I'm really sorry and feel bad for sharing my news- I know what its like to be TTC and read this sort of post- but I can't tell anyone bar my mum at the moment and I'm dying to share it! Plus, hopefully it will give everyone hope! xx

gina84uk · 17/01/2010 20:38

lol iam hoping to wait till the 30th as it's my birthday and if it is a bfp then that would be the best prezzie ever lol,but we just need to wait and see cause iam reallly bad for testing early even thou i know it's a bfn
hope thing's go's well for tomorow
xx

Vikks · 17/01/2010 11:48

Salander - Have you got your 'high' yet? Fingers crossed!

MadameG - It sure is a 'circus' isn't it? Did your AF get you yet?

Gina - Thanks, I'll let you all know how it goes. How many days you got left? Are you going to stay strong and not test early? I'm rubbish and always start on about 9 DPO, slap my wrists. Good luck, I hope this is your month!

gina84uk · 15/01/2010 19:44

Hi everybody, thanks for getting back to me- I'll be sure to turn the CBFM on when my period shows! I've had sore boobs the last few days so hopefully it's coming!

Sorry things are so stressful, Salander. hug

salander · 15/01/2010 08:29

Hello all
Been off the board for a while as just got a bit stressed/obsessed with the whole thing and abandoned the monitor to see if that would help - it didn't! Currently on about 7th cycle of trying, CD 12 today and still no fecking high yet boo. Hey ho. Hope everyone's well and less stressed than me!

Vikks · 14/01/2010 23:13

Hoping - Congratulations on your marriage! Are you on honeymoon now? Good luck with this cycle and please tell me you gave your ?friend? a telling off for the ?past prime childbearing age? comment!

MadameG - Hello and welcome! Get that CBFM on. You can get PG with irregular cycles, that?s why the FM is so good. There?s no way you?ll miss your OV when you?re POAS every morning. Good luck!

Keziah - Glad you?re out of hospital, don?t over do it. Thanks for the well wishes and I hope your blood test goes your way in February. Re. AF

Gina - I hope your 2WW goes smoothly and has a happy ending.

Medee - Welcome to the thread. Hope the CBFM does the trick for you!

Shaggy - Are you still with us? I hope you are being well looked after.

Monkey - How goes it at your end?

I?m on my 5th ?high? today and expect to get my ?peaks? Tuesday/Wednesday. My follicles were very small at my last two scans so I?ve been given double doses for 4 days. So I?m shooting up with great anticipation that my scan on Monday will show some big fat follicles, and I?ll give myself my HCG injection Monday night.
So all going well it?ll be IUI Tuesday! I?m actully quite excited about getting it done. It increases our chances and I always like trying new things, it feels like we?re getting closer to our BFP. We are fast appoaching our 3 year mark and I am so impatient to be a mum, when will it be me?

May the force be with us! Good luck everyone

Keziahhopes · 14/01/2010 21:53

Hi Medee - hope CBFM reassures you.
AF tonight, no real surprise but still

Medee · 14/01/2010 21:37

Hello, just marking my place, have just hit "Buy" on an Amazon basket containing a CBFM. I have a stupidly long cycle (42 days) and have been off the pill since June to no avail.

gina84uk · 14/01/2010 20:44

thanks keziahhopes
i dont really know alot about what u are going through but 16 months was a hell off a wait to get blood done,i really hope it go's well next time xxx

Keziahhopes · 14/01/2010 18:27

Hi and welcome MadameG

Thanks for the support - I am now out of hospital (and back at work straight away!! Against advice, but I need to keep occupied) .. am waiting till Feb for my 21 day blood test now, having had my prolactin level at 675 which is apparently high. From what I have read, high prolactin prevents conception/implantation (will ask dr when see)- so feel frustrated I waited 16months to go for simple blood test! Not sure what next, just another blood test.

All best for those on 2ww.
Hope your treatment goes well Vikks

gina84uk · 14/01/2010 09:43

MadameG · 14/01/2010 09:01

Hi everyone, I'd like to join you. Me and Hubby now have a CBFM delivered fresh from amazon!

I've got a question though- my last cycle was a long one and I think this one might be too as no sign of AF yet. Is it okay to use the FM with my periods a bit haywire? I came off the pill 7 months ago and my periods were alright til last month, then they went askew.

Should I wait to use it til they get regular? Or can I still get pregnant while this is happening and can therefore use the CBFM?

HopingForASunnyDay · 13/01/2010 19:30

Hello again Gina, so by the looks of things you are on the 2ww? I'll be keeping everything crossed for you! (well not everything perhaps, hoping for BFP myself after all )

justshaggy Apologies, in my very self obsessed last post, I forgot to say so for you. I hope you are ok and that things are looking good from the medical perspective?

Trying hard to brush off last month's BFN but for some reason feeling quite anxious for this month, this is more emotionally draining than I thought. Not being at all helped by a conversation with a lovely, but insensitive male friend yesterday who helpfully informed me that I should get a move on, as am already past 'prime childbearing age'

Oh well, sure all will be fine

gina84uk · 13/01/2010 14:27

hiya hoping
i know how you feel, being tearfull comes with ttc all of us know that feeling so just brush last month off.

HopingForASunnyDay · 12/01/2010 05:49

Hello again everyone!

Sorry to have been a bit AWOL recently, but have been busy getting married! I hope everyone is well and had a lovely Christmas and New Year?

Well, I was really surprised (and relieved) that the CBFM did seem to monitor my cycle last month. I managed to set the monitor for day 4 of my cycle (thanks for the advice - should probably read the instructions in the future!) Did the whole POAS thingy and had a few days of 'high' and then ovulated on CD17.

Did the do on the appropriate days, then was convinced had conceived but unfortunately got a BFN on the 9th . AF has now arrived which is never a good thing, but am pleased that my cycle (well this one at least) seems to have returned to normal after having my Mirena removed.

Will be in a few different time zones for the next few weeks which might present some challenges with the testing window, but have set it for the morning for where I'll be for CD 6 to about 17 so hopefully will be ok. The instructions say that if you are in a different time zone to save a cup of your first urine of the day, but I am not sure I can bring myself to leave cups of pee around our hotel bathrooms...might rather upset the whole BD mood a bit

Actually a bit gutted about the BFN to be honest, I know these things take time, but I'm not used to having hormonal mood swings - combining pre menstrual blues with a BFN was actually quite upsetting and I got a bit tearful. Still, optimistic for this month!

Can I please be added to the list?
