September is a month of new beginnings, maybe we'll have some new beginnings of our own. Hop on board the September Bus and let's see where it takes us.

Oh and by the way happynappies the gap between my first DS and the new arrival if I got pg this cycle would be 12 years!!!!

I know i have left it so so long. But only now feel ready to have another one. I was 22 when I had first DS. I plan to have two more DC staight away.

Morning All

The stats today didn't seem to be properly updated. So i've gone ahead and changed them. I hope I didn't mess them up.

happynappies If I got pregnant this cycle then there would be 4 1/2 years between my youngest and the new arrival.

I have a 15mth gap between my 1st two - it was fine you will manage! - and the big gap between #2 and this one is in part due to DC #3 being stillborn.

Now there is such a big gap we may well try again for # 4 straight away

Redbug · 09/12/2009 08:43

Just sidling in quietly... Have namechanged as I know a couple of MNers in real life and don't want them to know we're TTC!

We're starting TTC number two, DS is just over 14 months. Wish I could just produce another 1 year old out of thin air without having to go through the whole pregnancy/newborn thing (turns out I'm not a natural, BFing earth mother who enjoys newborn snuggles and NEVER SLEEPING), but apparently that's not an option . And I've only just lost weight from first pg!

happy nappies, my ds is 2 and a half, i've waited this long due to needing job security but for me personally couldn't have done it under 2 year gap. May be due to the fact I have quite a demanding career as a GP also though. Think whateve you have is right for you as you'll never know any different and you will always cope.

HI all, had my implanon out friday, bleeding sstarted sunday. Not sure where up to as not ha proper period in over 5 years. Had implant for 3 years then got pregnant immeiately, 18 months breastfeeding then another implanon so who knows. I may not even ovulate this month but I'll hop on anyway.

My goodness!! If I'm not preganant, then I've reached the menopause!!- list updated...

P.S Almost put the butter in the cupboard under the sink this morning. Managed (whilst also carrying the marmalade also fridge destined) to put the marmalade in the fridge, but the butter in the bin. NEVER done that before. Took me 10 mins to find it at lunchtime amongst lots of mutterings of well I almost put it in the cupboard, but I can't have put it in the bin...

Quick question for those who are ttc #2, 3 or 4 - if you did get pg this cycle (not wishing to tempt fate) what would the age gap be between this baby and your youngest (are you still with me?). I'm slightly uncertain (so perhaps ttc bus is the last place I should be) as d-day approaches, because ds is 9 months old at the moment. We thought a small gap would be better as we possibly want 4, and I'm not getting any younger, but I wake up in a cold sweat wondering how I'll cope?!!

yeah, appreciate the info. I can stop now at least, all is not lost yet.
Feeling pretty crap tho, my ears feel like they are full of cotton wool and my throat is sore and swollen.
Think I might have a night off BDing tonight, save the goodies for ovulation day!

PurpleHeffalump · 07/12/2009 21:53

Ha ha - sorry, I did think twice about posting that as didn't want to make you feel bad (and as I say, I don't know how true it is). But then thought I'd rather know.

Cazzr · 07/12/2009 21:25

PurpleHeffalump: aaaah!! I'll stop taking them now and start the suffering! Wonder if Dh will mind if i get snot on him whilst we are BDing! LOL

tiffanys · 07/12/2009 21:20

Hi all

Can I join please? I have one dd and me and my lovely dh are ttc#2. We started ttc a few months ago but had to stop as dh job was under threat but now we are back trying. I am also trying to lose some weight to improve my chances. here are my stats ttc#2 cycle 1, ucl 28 cd 11.

I hope this bus is lucky for all

PurpleHeffalump · 07/12/2009 20:32

Hi Cazzr - just found this:

Some painkillers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, can interfere with conception if taken around the time of ovulation by suppressing hormones called prostaglandins, which the body needs to release the egg into the fallopian tube.

Not sure how accurate/scientific it is!

kawaiiko - we're at my parents' too for Christmas! There is no way they would believe any reason for me not drinking.

sparechange - fingers crossed for you. I'm really not looking forward to my first 2ww - I'm SUCH an impatient person at the best of times!

Cazzr · 07/12/2009 18:50

Ok so ovulation day for me tomorrow and despite last months failed attempts at BDing because of a poorly DS, a freaked out DH and general knackeredness I am pleased to say we have been doing well this month...
Not looking fwds to 2ww and doubt I'll be able to keep my gob shut to parents at christmas if I get a BFP, but hey ho, all part of the fun..

Question for people.., I have a manky cold at the mo and have been taking cold pills for this, as I've not ovulated yet and therefore not actually conceived yet, will the pills have an effect on the baby IF we do concieve? Is ibuprofen off the list (not taken any but curious).. Not worried about the paracetamol side of them but not sure about the 'extras' the cold pills have in them..
Just realised, I probably have pre-pregnancy/cold brain, as that sounds like such a stupid question! LOL

NancyDrewRocks · 07/12/2009 16:14

What a busy bus and lots of first timers: babies and cycles.

Wishing everyone luck.
