September is a month of new beginnings, maybe we'll have some new beginnings of our own. Hop on board the September Bus and let's see where it takes us.

Thanks everyone for all your wishes. Am willing you all on now.

shellee sorry to hear that, good luck on the next bus.

jbakedbean might see you on an antenatal thread then, I am not sure how they work but off to look about now ...

shelleee · 01/01/2010 17:57

happy new year everyone , good luck for 2010, af arrived today so i will have to hop off here , nevermind maybe cycle 8 will be lucky ,,,

digitalgirl · 01/01/2010 10:00

Congratulations sugarmagrundy! hope this pregnancy works out to be wonderfully boring for you!

Jollster do you normally have such short cycles or has something brought them on?

Well an obviously pointless bfn for me last night, which totally took the shine off drinking champagne at 11:40. Shouldn't have tested on the basis of a smidgen of light brown cm. Nothing today so was obviously a one off. Even if I am pg it was way too early to test.

There are no more hpts in the house so will have to wait till the baby's kicking before I next test.

My friend had a baby boy this morning at 3:30 after going in for an induction on the 29th. Clearly he wanted to be a 2010 baby. So pleased to hear they're doing well.

Happy 2010 everyone and hope this year brings us all a bfp!!

pointsmakeprizes · 01/01/2010 09:46

Happy New Year ladies!

Congrats sugar you really are going to have an amazing year ahead of you.

My cycle has completely got me stumped this year, just got a peak on my CBFM but am pretty sure that I have already ovulated, according to FF I am 10 dpo - my temps have also risen which would indicate that FF is correct and had ewcm when I should have done.

Right now no signs of ewcm so not sure what is going on. Did test with a FR last night in a pissed state and it was a BFN so guess I will have to try and muster some energy to actually have sex today in case I am about to ovulate now!

2010jollster · 01/01/2010 07:55

Congrats sugar - what a great start to 2010!!!
jbakedbean - do you mean you are already pregnant? If so you need an Ante-Natal thread? Or do you mean last time you did? If you are still to conceive we need your cycle day, your usual cycle length, and are you trying for number one, two or eight?

More BFPs today please!

I have had 2 22 day cycles in the last 2 months, so am hoping just to get passed that this cycle... baby steps and all that .

Not sure if I should be on this bus, but according to my maths I'm due 4th September. Conceived whilst on pill so no clue about my stats.

Completly clueless on adding myself to the list. sorry, I think i'll have to go look up pregnancy mumsnet text speak.

bunnygirl80 · 01/01/2010 00:09

Congrats sugar nymph poor you dreaming that your DH had cheated - at least David Tennant cheered you up.

I've been having weird dreams the last couple of nights too - most strange was that Santa wouldn't bring me any presents and kept throwing mince pies at me! I wonder if this is a sign? Most likely just means I'm slightly bonkers

nymphadora · 31/12/2009 21:30

Oh and I keep crying and snapping at people

nymphadora · 31/12/2009 20:16

Congrats sugar

Had my blood today , there is that little part of me that hopes I will get a call like WWSW did telling me to take a test! On the other hand I have having v realisitic dreams, poor DH last night had me crying after I dreamt he cheated on me but that was followed by me going back to sleep and dreaming I was living with David Tennant and working on Dr Who

lucybrad · 31/12/2009 19:24

digitalgirl i hope so much that its implantation bleeding for you - good luck!

lucybrad · 31/12/2009 19:22

sugarmagrundy hope its a sticky, good luck to all in 2010. hopefully we will all have new edition this time next year.

SamanthaB123 · 31/12/2009 19:11

SugarMargrundy Congratulations!!! What a fabulous new year present! SB

SugarMagrundy · 31/12/2009 18:05

No champers for me, got a BFP!

Yay! Now let the worrying begin ... I had a chemical preg last month so I am hoping this one sticks. Also in my first pregnancy, baby was Edwards Syndrome, so I am a complete nervous nellie about this whole business.

Though, this is my first cycle on a bus so I am doing well to get a BFP and hope my beginners luck holds!

Happy New Year to all you lovely ladies. Thanks for bringing me luck & good luck to the imminent testers....

digitalgirl · 31/12/2009 17:25

Weird. Am spotting again. But only had AF 3 weeks ago. Too much of a wimp to test now, besides just been for a wee. Need to leave it 4 hours if I were to do it before midnight.

Or. I could just wait and see if this turns into AF.

Molly79 · 31/12/2009 15:49

Happy New Year everyone Still no sign of AF or a BFN so I went to the docs yesterday. The usual was said by a lovely doctor 'you were on the pill for a long time, only been 3 months, you are young (30 ) you don't smoke which is good, lose a bit of weight, come back and we will investigate if there is no sign in another 3 months' I have therefore decided I was a little hasty in jumping on a bus so I am going to wait until I get a period and jump on one after that. I hope you will all have graduated by then and I wish you all lots of baby making luck in 2010

digitalgirl · 31/12/2009 14:17

Good for you taking it on the chin redbug
Personally, I hate bfn's and would rather wait till af turned up (although that didn't seem to stop me from testing last time!).

Friend came round for tea this morning and has announced she is also going to start ttc#2 next month. Now it feels like a race. Which I am already losing having had a head start by trying since august. Silly? Moi? Of course.

Redbug · 31/12/2009 11:43

BFN, but am not terribly traumatised - it really would have been a bit of a medical miracle if it was BFP!

Now have to wait till AF arrives and start again. the joy of such short cycles is that I don't have to wait terribly long each time!

Muser · 31/12/2009 10:54

Conception is a little miracle Samantha, but try not to let it rule you too much as it is overwhelming. Temping is helpful but I understand fraught with difficulty as well. It might not be that you haven't ovulated, but that your thermometer isn't quite sensitive enough, or you got your time of day slightly wrong, or a lot of reasons nothing to do with whether you ovulated or not.

I just saw on one of the other threads someone saying she hadn't recorded a peak but was undoubtedly pregnant. So don't assume the worst.

All these things we can do to help get pregnant are just a guide. The last bit is pure luck and forgetting that leads to craziness. Stay optimistic!

OP posts:
Redbug · 31/12/2009 10:51

Maybe I'll go buy a test when I pop into town - if AF magically appears meantime (which would be reasonable), then I'm all ready for next month

I actually wouldn't normally test only when I'm due, due to aforementioned phobia of CP/early miscarriage etc, but seems like a nice idea this time.

Now I need my bread to finish cooking so I can go buy a test.

Samantha I knew practically nothing last time we were TTC, and was lucky enough to fall pregnant immediately, but the more I learned, the more amazed I was that it had happened! I can remember thinking, as a teenager, that if I had unprotected sex I would get pregnant, no questions, but now I realise that isn't entirely true!

hohohojollster · 31/12/2009 10:43

redbug do it do it DO IT!!!!!!!!!! I'm a great believer in trends and significances!

SamanthaB123 · 31/12/2009 10:41

The more I find out about conception, the more of a miracle it is that I have two children. I knew nothing at all prior to this experience. Suddenly I find myself at 36 wondering how on earth I have lived so long without properly understanding. I may, ahem, have looked like a bit of an eejit with some of my previous posts. I have been reacting entirely based on the way that my body feels, (which I thought was perfectly sufficient), however, I now realise that most of my posts may well go against recognised medical science. Ahem and again.

It seems that you cannot ovulate if your temperature does not rise. All that ewcm over the last few days may mean my temperature is about to rise because I have recently ovulated, or it may just mean that I have dodgy abundant mucas. Lovely.

Last month when I conceived, I spied some abundant ewcm, had a good stab at bd'ing and bingo! I was probably quite lucky... In my favour however, this month, while utterly ignorant of what was going on, there has been much bd'ing, some of it probably at a pertinent time. If I do conceive luck or God (depending on your beliefs) will certainly have played a part.

I rather wish I hadn't started reading so much. I had happily convinced myself that I wasn't obsessed with having a baby, but, perhaps in hindsight, that is not strictly true. I do seem to spend an awful lot of time mulling the whole thing over. This has caused me to research and read which takes us back to the start of this paragraph..!

I began this process with the rather naive assumption that because we wanted to have a baby, we would. I get 10/10 for optimism (which I still believe plays a fine role in conceiving) but probably 10/10 for arrogance too (sorry if I offended anyone along the way) . I think that I will be approaching the whole thing with a little more humility in the future. If nothing else I have learned a little about conception and a lot about myself.

Happy New Year girls, 2010 is going to be our year ! SB

Redbug · 31/12/2009 10:37

How in the hell am I on CD27 (i.e. AF due)??!? I just triple checked and it's entirely true, but I'd convinced myself I wasn't due for about another week.

Maybe I'll go and get a pregnancy test, just for laughs. Have absolutely no symptoms, but got my last BFP on new years eve 2 years ago, so would be pleasing similarity on the very teeny weeny non-existent chance I was pg.

hohohojollster · 31/12/2009 05:47

only one grad so far? Pitiful performance... not unlike my beloved Hammers.

Here's hoping 2010 brings many many more.

Happy New Year...
