whiteroses and zippys thanks for your messages. didn't go so far as to make any hints last night. we just cuddled on the couch. but a good sesh this morning though! and think today might be ov day (will see what happens with temp tomorrow).

although after lying in bed for about 20 mins (and chanting "swim, swim for your lives" in my head), DH made me get up so we could go grocery shopping. it was pouring down with rain, so DH started running through the car park to get to tesco. at first i started following him, but it was getting rather....um... uncomfortable.... if you know what i mean. so i stopped and said, i can't run. he shouted back why? i said, well if you have to know it's cuz i'm leaking! i though he was going to be sick. but he asked!!!

anyway, keeping up hope for this month!

zippys sorry to hear about your fall and being sick. hope you feel better soon.

hope everyone else is having a nice saturday, despite the gloomy weather.

ceebs05 · 16/01/2010 15:19

Hi everyone, just checking in...

Have come to the conclusion that sickness was a bug or something I ate as I feel fine now - only lasted 24 hours. Not like me though - I never seem to catch these things, DH on the other hand catches everything going! If AF not here by Wed/Thurs next week will test again but I think she's on her way.

Agree with what's been said about it being hard to live the sort of lifestyle recommended in some of the books - some of it is just not that realistic for lots of people in real life! I'm trying to eat better and not drink too much coffee (although I've not cut it out completely). Also not drinking my usual quantities of wine on a friday night either!

zippys - ouch! hope your head feels better soon

Hermya321 · 16/01/2010 15:11

Am I ov? my temp went up a little bit from yesterday and I have (sorry for TMI) EWCM today and a bit of an achey tummy and back. I stopped taking my pill two days ago, surely I can't be ov'ing this soon? Am I just imagining things???

Pixie I'm glad you're feeling better today.

Muser sorry to hear about the mc, I hope you feel better soon.

Bunny Come on Cycle 4(2)!!!!

Zippys Yeah I'm trying to cut down, I am literally a walking tea pot and have been ever since my Mum stuck milky tea in my bottle for me as a kid.

pixiestix · 16/01/2010 15:00

Happy Saturday everyone.

Hob - I know I'm daft but I LOL'ed when I read that your and DH were going to test together on Sunday. I can guarantee that he wont be pg if he POAS Your symptoms sound so promising though. at a work colleague noticing your boobs! Good luck.

Thanks to all for your advice re stretching - I am working on the assumption that it is an old wives tale and I was just being a numpty.

Drews - Im glad you've found the Ebay and Amazon CBMs. £100 is just daylight robbery. I would say they are definitely worth buying. Before I got mine I spent half the month wondering whether I had ov'd or not. Now I know for certain every month, and that is such a relief.

Muser - I think you are absolutely right to have a bit of a break. I imagine that TTC could be a complete head-fuck so soon after a mc. Hope you are back with us at some point soon.

WhiteRoses - "apple pip" - that is soooooooo cute!!
Im glad your bosses are being so supportive, and yay! that you dont have to do any more night shifts!

Worrisome - hope that you get to cancel your appointment next month There are going to be quite a few Feb BFPs if everything goes to plan. Right Yorkshire?

Nice to hear from you Zippys - have they got any idea what is causing this sickness yet? Are you having any more tests?

Well, I am symptom spotting aplenty, but nothing yet. I'm going to try to hold off testing until Wednesday, if AF doesn't come before then. Would love to have all of HobNobs symptoms at this point!!

OP posts:
Hobnob76 · 16/01/2010 14:42

Thanks Chance and Hermya321 Bunny so sorry AF got you.

whiteroses Its hard to say, I think they might be bigger but I had the exact same symptoms last month bar the horrible cramps I've been experiencing. Zippys Might test tomorrow morning. I don't have a good feeling about it though.

Worrisome I feel pretty much the same as last month tbh, and I have the same 'signs and symptoms' according to FF. Those books sound like depressing reading tbh!

WorrisomeHeart · 16/01/2010 13:48

Hi all

Just droping in quickly...

bunny sorry about AF, but as you say, at least your cycle is lengthening which is a good thing. Are you taking any vits to help it? I have a similar issue but have been taking extra B6 which seems to have helped although it might be a coincidence!

zippys interesting to read your take on the books - I have both the Zita West Guide to Conception and TCOYF. TBH I found TCOYF much more helpful than the ZW book - more clear information particularly around the charting side of things. Plus, like you I started feeling really guilty about diet/exercise/stress etc with ZW. And I couldn't see myself going down the full Chinese medicine route that she suggests. So I'm taking a ZW-lite approach in that I'm trying to eat a bit healthier and walk more - I figure thats the best way to say sane too (or rather sane-ish...)

capricorn I get similar type symptoms when I'm oving - esp the crampy stomach. Are you monitoring temps or doing OPKs that might help you pinpoint it?

hermya and eadwacer lol at missing your last pills - I completely understand!

ceebs & hobnob any news?

Whiteroses Fab about your work being so good about the appleseed!

Well, I think I've oved, just waiting for another temp rise to confirm it. DH and I have done quite well at the BDing this month so you never know...

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturdays!

Eadwacer · 16/01/2010 13:41

Hi zippys - so sorry about your head, and also that it must seem like all the factors are against you just now...however much we all know people who conceived healthy babies whilst out of their heads at Glastonbury, it still feels like you'd have to live the life of a triathlete vegan to get anywhere...

Anyway. Good luck to you. (And TTC or no TTC, they will have to prise the Diet Coke out of my cold dead hand.)

x

zippys · 16/01/2010 13:29

Hello everyone, sorry I have been so quiet the last couple of weeks, but work is so busy at the moment I have however been reading everyday and have been catching up that way.

I was planning on writing a really long post Whiteroses style but the board has moved so so fast I think I would be here all day!

So instead I will say sorry to anyone who's AF has arrived and also a huge wave to all the new people on the board.

Hobnob if someone at work has noticed your boobs it must be a good sign - I will join the gang of people chanting TEST TEST TEST

ceebs hope you feel better now, you never know until AF arrives.

Pixie I heard about pregnant women not streching - but it is just an old wives tale, there was a thread on pregnancy board about it (not that I am so obsessed I read those too

Bunny sorry AF came hope you are ok x

Muser hope you are doing ok, I think you are right to sort your head out first, you know where we are if you need us.

Sevans I am so so sorry to hear your news, I hope you are ok. Do they know why they couldnt pick it up before now?

Kkas I hope this months BDing is ok, I agree with whiteroses you are best not putting the pressure on, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Claire how are you doing in the 2ww, any symptoms? Lets hope your hard work has paid off

Fulham Lily is such pretty name. I am so pleased for you. It is lovely to hear from you and hope to join you on Whites new thread in antenatal.

Worrisome lets just hope that you dont need your appointment but if you do let us know how you get on.

Drew cant believe your mum re practicing! we havent told anyone in rl that we are trying but it will be no surprise to anyone as I am so baby mad. My friends who have had children call me for advice when they have queries or problems, just need one of my own now.

Hermya I have taken the attitude that my diet coke keeps me sane when working late etc so have cut down but dont think i could cut it out.

Sorry for everyone whos posts I have missed but it has been moving to fast when I have been away!!

My books from Amazon have arrived, Plan to get pregnant by Zita West and Taking Charge of your fertility. I thought they would make me feel better but instead just made me confused, as they contradict each other!! To be honest they didnt really tell me much I didnt know but I feel like I am at least doing something.

What was quite depressing was in the Zita West books there is a bit on couples she has treated and she says that couples arrive working 50 hours a week, eating when they can, doing little exercise so no wonder they cant get pregnant. Well a 50 hour week would be a short week for both of us at the moment. I havent exercised at all since CHristmas and have eaten rubbish!! No wonder we cant get pregnant but we cant really reduce our hours at the moment but I am determined to eat better and exercise more. I have spent 6 hours cleaning this morning so that will be some exercise ( I am a bit of a clean freak - god knows what I will be like if I 'nest' when pregnant)

I have a feeling that this is not the cycle for me, dont know why? Think I am due to ovulate in the next couple of days so trying to BD when we can but I am so tired all the time so it is sometimes a bit of a chore!
One thing I did find out from the books was that the tablets I take make me dry so hence a lack of ewcm

Also had a few bad days this week, fell on ice and hit my head so hard it bled and also still feel sick every morning so bad the other day that I actually threw up all over the kitchen just as we were going to work!!

Anyway some work to do this afternoon so better go.

Sorry for the me me me post and also stupidly long!!!!

There's nothing like POASing to bring on a delayed AF!! She arrived literally 2 hours after I did it. Am more annoyed at wasting a test than at the lack of baby though - I'm not entirely sure what this says about my mental state.

Oh well, cycle 4 here we come... (although I'm mentally calling it cycle 2 as it's only the second one me and DH will have been on the same continent throughout

Chance Thank goodness I'm not the only one, I've been trying to work out how much normal tea and coffee I can drink all day as well. I replaced a couple of my cups with decaf and now have a withdrawal headache.

Bunnygirl80 Sorry you had a BFN, at least things are starting to settle down for you now which will make things a little easier to predict.

chancewouldbeafinething · 15/01/2010 22:37

Hi eadwacer hope you can keep up on here...with all of us crazy baby ladies!

ceebs05 I think you might have just tested too early. It sounds like the morning-noon-night sickness that a lot of people get. maybe you should wait a couple of days & test again? good luck.

I have spent all day figuring out how much caffeine is in my morning starbucks...and if i can still have my afternoon diet coke...good news I can . But water for the rest of the day. Lucky too or i would be too moody to think about BDing!

I started my CB ov tests today, I think it might be early but with my 'usual' lengh being so short i am not going to risk it. DH was asking why i was taking a PG test when i obviously couldnt be....sometimes i think it would be nice to be a man and not have mysterious cycles to worry about!

aly &Worrisome you are so right, until you live with an exercise freak you cant understand it. I think it is better that he goes rather than staying home and being moody. I took your advice though Aly and showed him some articles on the net - he managed to find some that did not agree which didnt help!

Good luck hobnob and anyone else thinking of testing

bunnygirl80 · 15/01/2010 21:49

Hi everyone

Welcome eadwacer

I noticed yesterday that my boobs were feeling normal again! Tested this morning and BFN

I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be as the last 2 cycles I've only had a 9 day luteal phase, which is mean to make getting pg "difficult". This months will be a good 14 days so much more normal - hopefully this means my cycles are settling down after the pill.

No time to catch up on the whole thread at the moment so will post properly later

Hermya321 · 15/01/2010 20:39

Eadwacer Thats so funny!!! LOL! I doubt I'll go moonward, but I'm starting to develop an unhealthy interest in baby websites. I'm trying to breath in all the info I can. Google truely is a terrible thing in the hands of an info geek.

Eadwacer · 15/01/2010 20:32

Hermya - it made me fell all sort of lupine and hippyish. I'd been on the pill since I was 18 and my body had never done any of the things it wanted to. I started feeling all powerful and taking an unhealthy interest in the moon and everything. HAR!

Hermya321 · 15/01/2010 20:29

Eadwacer Yeah I think I may in fact be off the pill bandwagon. I don't know why it feels naughty. Maybe because for years we drum it into ourselves to take the pill or else all hell will break loose upon the earth and the sky will fall and all that. Now we're not, we still have the feeling that the apocolypse will poke its head round the door.

Hobnob76 OMG I have fingers and toes crossed for you!!!!

Plus I had to laugh about the staff room conversation. Imagine walking in on that one! LOL

Hobnob76 · 15/01/2010 20:14

Whiteroses I'm struggling to resist the urge to test today! Hubs and I have agreed that we'll test together on Sunday.

Well it would appear that the cat is well and truely out of the bag with work not knowing about us TTC! Apparently I've been the talk of the staffroom this week because the person I work with has been discussing the size of my boobs and the fact that she thinks they've grown! This conversation came about because I'd forgotten something that was said to me and I happened to say how forgetful I seem to be getting and she asked me if there was anything wrong Well I could hardly deny it could I ? I am the world worst liar too. So I said 'watch this space'! She was trying to encourage me to test early when I said I had sore boobs too!

Eadwacer · 15/01/2010 20:06

Oh, one more thing - those statistics look amazing and I think I've figured out what most of it means - but what's the last CD bit? (I thought it was 'cycle day' by that can't be right!)

Eadwacer · 15/01/2010 20:04

Hermya - hello again! I know that no-pill feeling. Isn't it ironic that it somehow feels naughty not to take it - when you think that back in 1963 or whenever Larkin said it was, going on the Pill was dead modern!

I just stopped mid-packet, I have to admit. And immediately felt like CAPTAIN OF MY DESTINY.

Hi Drewsgirl - I haven't bothered with any of the mechanical stuff, I've just plotted my cycles on mymonthlycycles.com. In the first few months since coming off the pill it's been incredible to see how just when the website calculator said I'd be ovulating, all the classic ovulation stuff happened (including apparently being about 100% more attractive to people. I thought this was just a legend but it seems to happen - anyone else get this?!)

ceebs05 · 15/01/2010 19:43

Hi all,

feeling frustrated - am on day 25 and started to feel really nauseous yesterday afternoon, eventually throwing up last night. Tested this morning - BFN - couldn't help myself. It's probably far too early (average cycle has been 27, ranging from 24 - 30) but anyway sickness is probably just a bug that's going round.

Drews girl - fertilityfriend.com is a site where you can put your data on - cycles, temps etc and chart your fertility (I think - am still getting to grips with it?!)

Capricorn - I have noticed that I get slight cramps and back ache around the time I think I am ovulating or about to ovulate so I guess what you're feeling could be symptoms of that?

Hermya321 · 15/01/2010 19:39

Eadwacer welcome on board, this is a very fun thread!!!

Drewsgirl lookie here I hope it's alright to link on here. Basically you go and join and then put things like your temp, CM stuff, mood and other stuff into it and it puts it into a chart for you and sends you daily emails with lessons on your cycle etc. It seems like a helping hand.

I'm glad you found a cheaper one than in boots. It seems a lot to ask for a monitor to pay £100 plus.

I was a bit naughty today and didn't take my pill. I know I sort of said I would finish my packet, but I'm just too excited and well theres part of me that can't see the point in finishing. Hmmmm we'll see if I change my mind later this evening.

DrewsGirl · 15/01/2010 18:31

Eadwacer - welcome along, this is the place to be ttc, ive only been on here about 4 days and hae learnt so much already!

Hermya - what is fertility friend, i have seen someone else on here mention it before.

I have had a look on amazon and found CBFM for £52 which is a bargain boots £99 There are also loads on ebay, i might have a go at bidding on them some are as low as £30, i am going to ask DH first but hes asleep on the sofa atm.

Eadwacer · 15/01/2010 18:16

GOOD EVENING! Can I join your gang, please?!

My husband and I had a sort of protracted business meeting last night, and have decided that bugger being sensible (short of discovering I'm an heir to a fortune, the perfect time to conceive just isn't coming....), we're going to try to conceive this minute.

Well: Not THIS minute as I'm having my period, but from now on, anyway.

I'm not being too scientific about it just yet. I'm 30, and my husband is 36; my family is notoriously fertile and by God I look like I ought to be if nothing else. I've been keeping track of my cycle since coming off the pill, and it seems fairly regular, if rather short.

Um. That's about it really. Hello!

capricorn76 · 15/01/2010 17:19

@Claireinthecommunity -

Re - Wheatgrass. I get the dried Wheatgrass from Holland & Barret. It doesn't taste very nice but I add Cranberry juice to sweeten it. I think it's helping me lose a bit of weight too which is a bonus.

Muser · 15/01/2010 15:19

Just noticed I'd got back on the list so have taken myself off again, don't want to end up on here at CD500!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not giving up trying this month, just not wanting to count cycle days or obsess. Need to clear my head a bit after the mc, think I jumped in again too quickly.
