hobnob congrats! such great news and a great way to start another week! another one to stalk on the other thread

aly thanks for sharing your dream with us. i really believe in the power of interpreting dreams. last week when DH and i were having the BD problems, that night i dreamt of a stag. lo and behold when i looked that up on my trusty dream interpretation website, that means male sexuality! how weird. i don't think i ever have thought about a stag whilst awake and yet my subconscious is aware of the symbolism. anyway, i bet it was comforting seeing your mum in your dream and that you feel she is still involved in your life in some way. can't remember when you said your trial starts, but good luck. you must be manic in the last few weeks of preparation.

pixie that is exactly what i told him! my temp still hasn't gone up yet, so i still don't think i've ov, which is a bit disappointing. i was so hoping it would be perfect timing yesterday. looks like i have to plan the next subtle attack....

whiteroses i know it's so unfair! although i am now starting to think it's much harder on the guys at this early stage being pressured to perform when needed.

i sent an email to my sister (who is just about to start TTC no 2) telling her about my stresses of TTC and she sent me this link. not sure if any of you might find it useful:

www.associatedcontent.com/article/1055924/10_tips_to_eliminate_preconception.html?cat=52

i liked the idea of having time to vent your feelings with your partner. although i'm not sure whether i would be brave enough to suggest that to DH. think it might end up with me in tears and DH scared to death every time! i thought it was good it suggested joining a support group though. you guys are definitely mine!

anyway... sorry for the rambling post. hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hooray HobNob! Great news! Your symptoms sounded so strong though, so I think we were all secretly expecting that outcome Fab!

ROFL at Mumnerves song and KKases revolted husband!! How dare he feel sick when he's the one that did that to you!!

Zippys - sorry, I totally forgot to ask after your head Hope you are doing ok now.

Hermya - if you stopped the pill six days early your symptoms sound more like AF than pg On a usual 28 day cycle you would almost definitely have ovulated already by day 22. Hope I'm wrong tho!

Drews - two CBM!!!! Oh god! And you know, you'll probably get pg this cycle and not even have to unwrap one of them!

Oh Hobnob, I'm so pleased, congratulations!!!! Now I want to follow you on the grads thread & see how you're doing!

aly323 Ah, I love it that you've gone for the 'being totally open' approach. I can see how hearing others' stories would be really quite consoling....I've restricted it to the only young Mum I know, largely 'cos with three children she seems to be able to spot minute hormonal changes at fifty paces...

CurlyCasper · 17/01/2010 11:26

OMG, of course

CurlyCasper · 17/01/2010 11:20

OMH Hobnob that's ace news! I'm so, so, so, so happy for you! get over to the grads thread

whammie76 · 17/01/2010 10:58

Congratulations Hobnob on your BFP. I've only been on one of the 2ww threads at the moment. I'll be testing later on, as I'm definately late now. TC x

ceebs05 · 17/01/2010 10:53

Congrats Hobnob that's great news!

Am feeling slightly queasy again this morning but not sure if it's all in my head or bad chinese takeaway last night!

Hobnob76 · 17/01/2010 10:13

Thanks Hermya Cramps were good for me, had them from about 8dpo, F'X for you!

Hermya321 · 17/01/2010 09:43

Hobnob76 OH MY GOSH! Congratulations!!!!! I'm so so pleased for you, that is such fantastic news!!!

I'm still feeling crampy and achey. Still not sure if I have spontaneously OV or if AF is on her merry way. We shall see.

Hobnob76 · 17/01/2010 09:20

Well ladies, it appears whiteroses was right! I did indeed get a BFP or four this morning! I knew I didn't feel right!

aly323 · 17/01/2010 01:57

It's nice to see that many of you ladies share some of my ttc insanity. For awhile, I felt like the only one doing supplements, opks, bbt, etc. I use pre-seed and really, really like it. I also have been taking b-complex (100). I had an extra day last month, but went back to normal this month. I've been going to an acupuncturist as well. Hopefully something will eventually increase my lp a little.

I tried soy last month in an attempt to move my ov forward. It didn't make much of a difference from what I could tell. I have loads of girly cancers in my family, so I get a little nervous messing too much with my hormones (soy increases estrogen production). I'm considering getting genetic testing so that I can consider that in case I have to move on to medications. I also just got a cbfm, and I think they soy could mess with that.

As for telling people we're ttc... I can't stop. I feel like everyone who has been within three feet of me recently knows. It hasn't been too bad though. There was a period where I was very uncomfortable when people would ask "if it took yet." But now, I'm ok with it. I just keep telling people that we're working on it, and it's turning out to be a lot more difficult than I had expected. The funny thing is, this has actually led to many people opening up to me about the difficulties they had ttc. On Friday, one of my bosses told me that the baby his wife will be having any day now, is the product of their third ivf attempt. I've been shocked by how many of my friends and co-workers have been exactly where I am now. I personally think it's more that in general society just because I'm surrounded by people who put ttc on hold for their careers, many of them women, who like myself, used the pill for 15 or more years.

I've kind of had it in my head since we first started that it might take me awhile. I know it sounds crazy, but I had a dream right after we started ttc (I even posted about it ages ago). In the dream, my mom, who is dead, had a baby girl with her and was sending it to live with another family member. I kept telling her that we would take her instead. My mom told me that she would come to live with me, but it would take awhile. I know that it's silly, but I really think we'll have or adopt a girl eventually (although DH and I are both rooting for a boy). I know, I'm a nutcase .

Hermya321 · 16/01/2010 23:17

You can take vitimins to regulate your cycle? Where have I been?

Bunnygirl80 You'll have a BFP before you know it!!!

bunnygirl80 · 16/01/2010 22:43

kkas I laughed so hard at the leaking and mumnerves at you singing in the shower.

worrisome I haven't taken any vits to regulate my cycle. I was planning to if my luteal phase was short again, but it was 13 days this time so will hold off for now. Do you think the B6 is helping?

aly it sounds like zita west wants us to just sit quietly in a darkened room except for when we need to bd! I don't have her books but have read some of her stuff on the internet and it seemed a bit much for me. I'd probably feel totally depressed about TTC if I had to give up everything I enjoy.

addie have you done anything to try and lengthen your luteal phase? When mine was short for the last couple of months I read up on taking either B6 or agnus castus to help. Or maybe discuss it with your doctor?

Am getting lots of cramps at the moment, but am actually pleased Since I came off the pill AF has been really light and not felt like a proper AF at all. This time seems much more like it should be - hopefully everything is having a good clear out to leave a nice home for a baby this cycle!

mumnerves · 16/01/2010 21:48

Hermya321 I know how you feel! MIL rang DH a couple of months ago to say she had a dream that she had become a grandmother and again a week later to say that her fortune teller !???! had told her that she would have one in 2010! We hadn't even said anything and grrrr it just annoyed me, like you said, thank god for MN!

WorrisomeHeart We've only used it once and I did find it was good, I liked the fact that I could use it half an hour before so it took the pressure off having to use it just before. I know what you mean about lack of spontaneity, we've gone down to bd every other day now to try and stop stressing about it!

addie81 · 16/01/2010 20:19

My zita west and toni weschler books arrived from amazon so I am now charting very carefully. so far I think the toni weschler book is much better. I have been pretty much ignoring the zita west one. I know some of you already have the toni weschler one, but if you don't have it ("taking charge of your fertility"), then I highly recommend it. its definitely taught me lots of tips that i didn't know before. we are in the middle of the fertile phase, i think i will ovulate tomorrow. bding every day and keeping fingers crossed. I am dreading the two week wait this month having got my hopes up last month only to have them dashed by a very short luteal phase! hopefully the same thing won't happen this month. aly - i symphathise on the insanity at work front. me and DH both doing 15 hours a day at the moment. no sign of it letting up though so we are bashing on with ttc-ing anyway!good luck to everyone testing in the next few days.

fudgecat · 16/01/2010 20:16

kkas your leaking story made me chuckle maybe wait a bit before heading to the shops next time

im on CD25 today and have rather achey boobs im trying to not read too much into it but you know whats its like on the 2ww

Hermya321 · 16/01/2010 20:13

kkas I seriously LOL'd at your post .

Hermya321 · 16/01/2010 20:11

Drewsgirl Yeah I came off it, I think being on this thread had a bit to do with that. I woke up this morning and thought 'sod it' what difference does 6 days make. Hmmmm we'll have to see on that one.
But yeah officially TTC!! Me and DH are well excited. I'm glad you found your CMFM on ebay cheap. I've been looking at them as well. Might have to convince DH with that one.

Zippy I forgot to say earlier that I hope your head gets better.

Claire I have all fingers and toes crossed for you.

Eadwacer How boring would it be to be a triathlete vegan......would you still be able to drink diet coke?

chance How are the CB ov tests going?

mumsnerves I'm glad I'm not the only one, it's been lovely coming onto here and talking with people about TTC and who are in a similar situation. I can't really tell anyone in RL as I don't want to be hounded with knowing looks, winks and FB messages from MIL asking me if I'm PG yet. I mean don't get me wrong, she does that now. But at least now I can fob her off with 'Nah not just yet, we're waiting'. I think God will let me get away with that one, I mean I'm not lying because we are waiting. It just isn't waiting in the sense that she thinks it is.

Well back to sitting upside down on the sofa.

WorrisomeHeart · 16/01/2010 19:15

Sorry aly missed your post! Nope, I'm not a runner too - I'm much more of the couch-surfing type I sympathise about reaching cycle 6 and being sad - I know that people go a lot longer before conceiving but it feels like an age, doesn't it?

WorrisomeHeart · 16/01/2010 19:11

kkas and mumnerves I am ROFL - so funny!

mumnerves hope your find the pre-seed good - DH and I have found that it really helps, esp since I discovered you could use it like normal lube as opposed to inserting it We find that it helps with the spontaneity that is otherwise missing in babymaking!!

aly323 · 16/01/2010 19:09

Ugh. Cycle 6, yuck. I must not have updated it for last cycle. I'm kind of writing off the next two months since I have such insanity at work. We'll probably go to the RE in February to make sure there isn't any problem with DH and to see what can be done with my late ov (cd 19-23 generally)and short lp (9-10). I really never thought it would take this long.

chance, my DH tried to counter me with pointing out all the children of professional cyclists (a few I later found were step or ivf), but now that it's taking longer, I think he really is starting to worry. However, I'm sure it is good he's gotten into such good shape.
worrisome, I think running is probably much better than cycling- the articles talk a lot about the trauma of the bicycle seats and the heat generated from everything being jammed together. Of course, it also depends on what he's wearing while he's running. And, running or cycling, they just spend so much time doing it. Valuable time, and energy, that could be spent baby-making!! God, I run a little, but can't even imagine running a marathon... Do you run, too?

hobnob keeping my fingers crossed for your BFP, the boobs are a good sign

Drewsgirl I get really annoyed when people quiz me like that, it's so hard ttc without anyone sticking their nose in it

kkas rofl! I'm at that stage in my cycle too and was singing 'ovulation time come on!It's an ovulation' (sung to celebration) in the shower and was just glad DH wasn't listening

zippys A girl in work works 'officially' 40 hours, never does any exercise and is at least 3 stone overweight, she got BFP at first go just after coming off pill, so if she can then so can we! I too seem to lack EWCM and have bought some pre-seed to start using this month

Hermya321 you're not the only one with the unhealthy obsession, I've calmed down a bit now but I find it all quite overwhelming!

Good luck everyone testing over the weekend!

DrewsGirl · 16/01/2010 17:22

Hermya - thanks for the link, i have joined and it told me that Monday is my predicted ov day but i was only going to start my ov sticks tomorrow so i started today but nothing yet Did you tke your pill after on or are you oficially TTC now??

Chance - i started mine today and my DH sat on the edge of the bath reading the instructions with me and waited for the result hes so sweet.

Pixie - I bid on ebay for cbfm and then left dh in charge and we ended up with 2!! £62 and £50 so now i will have to sell one of them!

Kkas - Yuk at leaking, i know what you mean though

Well in work this week 2 people anounced they were pg, so theres a wager on as good things come in 3s, there is only 1 in the spotlight and i work in same dept as her and we went to see our other collegue who had a baby last week (she 10days old and shes indian and has got the most hair i have ever seen on a baby she is so gorgous its unbelievable!!) ... anyway she got married a year after me but is 30 and im 19 so everyone thinks she is the better candidate, but she asked me outright if i thought i would be nxt and i was like uh uh i dont know, so she was saying oh you didnt deny it and the next day she asked me infornt of someone else and i didnt know what to say!! I think she knows as i havent really answered

Eadwacer · 16/01/2010 16:32

kkas - that TMI was just what I needed to make me cackle with laughter, thanks!
