Evening all.

Hope everyone is beginning to feel festive. Went to John Lewis yesterday and managed to spend a small fortune on xmas paraphernalia - call me scrooge I know. Tree is getting decorated later so might get myself in the mood with a glass of mulled wine and torture DH with Xmas ipod playlist.

Still no sign of AF. Tummy feels a wee bit sore in a general sense, but I really can't work out if I have any symptoms whatsoever. We've had a busy weekend though, so haven't necessarily been as vigilant as normal.

Homebound - I,m with you there - planning to enjoy Christmas, if no BFP happens and then think about it all in the new year... stress and anxiety not good for anyone methinks.

pixie my DH exactly the same - month 1 we had burnt ourselves out by the time I think I actually ov'd and the poor man was feeling like a performing seal. Month 2 we have had a lot less BD, but not sure that is the answer either. I do think the whole BDing is a bit stressful on men. Not exactly romantic when we get ourselves into such a fervour around the whole thing. Do you do the whole sticking your legs in the air for 20 mins? That gets him every time.

MadameG welcome and hope your long cycle is a promising sign!

Calyx good luck in staying off those fags. I did it 2 years ago and frankly if I can do it (wine drinking/fag smoking lush that I was) anyone can. No half measures though ok!

Oh god my DH is singing - need to go and stop that.

Bye all.

CurlyCasper · 06/12/2009 17:45

My brain is mush. Here was me thinking you went all quiet around THanksgiving, when you have in fact moved on to a new thread.

will have a read now...

homebound · 06/12/2009 16:35

CD67..ugh....

Hunnymoo, I definately am in a highly stressful situation right now, but after Christmas it will all be fine hopefully. I had a great time last night at an overnight work night out and had a really good time dancing up a storm and having about 5 drinks too many ( I was forced I swear?!!!) and will get back on track with the healthy body making for baby. We all need a night off now and then!

Eleanora, my MIL used to say stuff like that all the time, but she now is lost without him. She just needs to get out of the house with baby...its not tying down, its the opposite. Also, there is an old school thing where mothers/mothers in laws think children are to be kept at home, so she may be stuck in an old school tradition.

Calyx! Good for you hunny! You are better quitting before you conceive as quitting whilst pregnant causes stress on the baby. You can do it...just think...if you quit....you will get a great reward in the end!!! You will actually be ABLE to run after your toddler without wheezing like hell!!! (Ex smoker myself)

Will check back tomorrow to see how everyone is doing. I really love hearing everyone's stories and really appreciate the encouraging words from everyone.

Hi all,
I'm on day 4 of "high" fertility on my CBM, haven't peaked yet, but still feeling very cheerful every morning when I turn my machine on! Not sure that DH is quite so chuffed. He doesn't like BDing when "Under Pressure" so is feeling a bit put upon at the moment. My response is generally "ah, shut up and get on with it!" which isn't very romantic!!!!!!

Welcome MadameG ! I'm sure you will find lots of good advice on here - I always do.

Sevans - I know its no consolation, but I have heard lots of people say that you have a boost of fertility after a MC, and lots of women get PG very quickly afterwards. Fulham is one of them, I believe, and will probably be able to reassure you more. But that still makes right now crap, and we are all thinking about you.
Your dream sounded hopeful, and 10/10/10 sounds like a very auspicious birthday for a LO!

MadameG · 06/12/2009 11:20

Hi Claire, thanks for the welcome! I've only just started properly tracking my cycle, but I'm pretty sure I was always a regular 28 day person!

AF should definitely have made an appearance by now. It's been 34 days since my last period. I'm afraid to test again though as I get my hopes up so badly.

Hope you enjoy your lunch! x

claireinthecommunity · 06/12/2009 11:13

Good morning all

And welcome to MadameG How long does your cycle normally last? If AF should have made an appearance by now I would test again and if not I would hold off until you are late. (Boring answer I know!)

DH and I are still on track for DTD every other day after this mornings antics

We're off to friends in a bit for lunch so I'll pop back on tonight.

MadameG · 06/12/2009 10:50

Hi everyone, I'm totally new here. Me and DH are just starting TTC. Am waiting for AF to arrive- its been 5 weeks (!) since my last period and I was hoping I was pg, but when I did a test about 6 days ago it was negative. I'm confused.

I've been off the pill for 6 months now and my periods are pretty regular, so I don't understand at all. That said, today I've got an achey lower back which is usually a sign of AF. This getting pregnant business is so stressful (and I'm only on my first go of trying!).

Calyx · 05/12/2009 19:13

Hello everyone, just in for the first time for ages it seems, hope everyone's having a nice weekend. I'm looking forward to X Factor later on.

I am starting to feel PMTish - does anyone else get really, er... how to put this... sweaty before AF arrives?! I feel like she'll be here in a day or two. Then a whole new cycle... and I've decided I'm completely off the cigarettes from the first day of AF. Please send me good vibes to keep off them (this time)!

claireinthecommunity · 05/12/2009 13:55

Lol @ HypotheticalMummy - it seems to happen to us all

NovemberAli · 05/12/2009 12:27

Hello all

Whiteroses I don't know how reliable the cheapy Ebay OPKs are, as I'm temping this month too I'll see if I get any +ves that match up with my temp and report back! I also got a bundle of pg tests, supposed to be similar to the NHS ones with early detection at 10miU HCG - well we'll see, they were v cheap!

Homebound hope you get on okay at the GPs, I had one cycle of 54 days which freaked me out but I think it was down to being particularly stressed that month so my body just skipped it.

Eleanora your mum probably just needed to let off steam, I'm sure she wouldn't have it any other way. I'm down to babysit next weekend for niece (5)and nephew (22 mo), yes it will be exhausting but I'll also love every minute

HypotheticalMummy · 05/12/2009 12:19

Was a fool this morning and did a pregnancy test about 7 days too early. Then I was sad when it was a BFN. Now im a sensible woman, I knew it was too early - but I did it anyway! Why is this pregnancy lark making me so fooooolish!?

claireinthecommunity · 05/12/2009 11:12

Morning all

Eleanora and bunnygirl, when I've mentioned that I'm broody to a few people in conversation, two women have said to me "don't bother" or "you'll regret it" - not very helpful and I think says more about their experience of life and motherhood than what my experience might be like. But, on both occasions it did make me take a step back and wonder about what they had said. Others are always going to have an opinion and/or experience that they want to convey to you - sometimes helpful sometimes not. What's important is knowing what you want from your life and feeling happy about the decisions you make.
Oh and loving the thought of you sunning yourself over there, while we're putting another log on the fire over here bunnygirl

I would agree with HypotheticalMummy the friends that I know that have children have indeed found a whole new social life with baby clubs and coffee in other mums homes, infact some of them have a better social life than me!

Aly your OV cramps and positive OPKs sound promising

I'm not in SW London Honeymoo, I'm near to Cambridge - those Arts Picturhouse are great though, they show such a variety of films - not just the current blockbusters.

Kkas, I can tell by your post that you do know exactly how I'm feeling. Eventually, this will all be done and we'll be talking about those "good old days" before kids and how we miss them.

Honeymoo, sorry about the test, also sorry to hear about yours homebound. Do you think you were possibly sick or stressed at ov time? It must be very frustrating to wait with no idea of when it'll come.

Sevans, glad you're feeling better...at least physically. 10/10/10 sounds like an excellent birthday, and I bet your body will be back in line by Jan.

I'm still feeling a little ov cramping (almost three days!?) and had positive opks yesterday and today. Hopefully I'll get a temp rise tomorrow as I've been cut off on the bd front. He's been a good sport, but he's done for now! Now I get to start symptom obsessing.

bunnygirl80 · 04/12/2009 23:25

Hello all

Sevans it's good that you've been able to take some time out for yourself. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Eleanora I know how it feels when mums say things like that. My SIL had a baby about a month ago and my mum gave me a lecture on how she's too young to be a granny and I should live my life and enjoy my freedom before starting a family! She reckons I'm too young to have kids - I'm 29 fgs. Anyway, haven't told her about the TTC!

Have started temping this month. I was really confused at first as temps were up and down on a daily basis - managed to convince myself that I wasn't ovulating adn would never conceive. Turns out I was wrong -got a big jump in temp on cd20 so must have ov on day 19 which is 4 days later than usual. Must have been the stress of moving/jetlag. Probably means I'll have a long cycle this month though so have promised myself no symptom spotting or testing till at least cd33! [must be strong and not cave emoticon]

After that mammoth post I'm off to cover myself in factor 30 and sit in the sun.

HypotheticalMummy · 04/12/2009 20:41

Elenora - I'm sure that if your mother was no longer able to care for your sisters baby on a regular basis she would be far more distressed by that! Don't get deflated! My sister in law has found that having a baby has given her a whole new social outlet and I'm sure she would say its anything but isolating!

homebound · 04/12/2009 20:28

Oh Sevans, I do know your pain hunny. Chin up, sometimes the body will dispose of things that arent healthy enough to survive...think of it that way, it may have been worse off if it had survivied, thats what got me though. Hope this is an upper for you..not a downer, i really do!

Well...as I work for the NHS, I had a proper test today on the advice of my GP and it was a BF NEGATIVE...why do they have to put the results on the screen in block capitals???? LIke it doesnt suck enough?! So im now officially worried something is wrong...Im am big time stressed these days so that my be it...but two months...cant be!

On the bright side hubby and I had some of the best sex EVER tonight...i know too much information, but something about not being worried about whats going on must have put us at ease....cause WOW! So anyway.....

I will see my GP next week. Im a bit relieved cause if i was pregnant i didn't know how i was going to explain to my work friends why i wasnt drinking at our Christmas party tomorrow!!! I plan to have a big drink because we all know the truth... im really upset that it isnt a BFP....

claireinthecommunity · 04/12/2009 20:17

Good to hear from you sevans and pleased that the pain has subsided for you. Take care this weekend x.

And hope you all have a good weekend

rollerbaby · 04/12/2009 16:42

Well it's day 28 in the big brother house and yes I caved in and tested yesterday to a BFN unsurprisingly. I reckon my usual cycle length is about 32 days roughly so will keep hanging on, but not really that positive as I don't feel that different from last month really and the nausea seems to have stopped now.

Sevans very glad that the pain has lessened a bit and you are taking things easy. Yes the twilight books are definitely better - I was just keeping my friend company (at least that's the excuse I'm sticking too!)

Claire I tried the every other day and we lasted I month that way - my poor DH was knackered and complaining! I don't blame him really. this month we've been more strategic in timing. Not sure that is better though... in terms of keeping it 'fresh' TMI I know! We also have an Arts picture house here in my corner of SW London - I wonder if you are nearby.

Aly that is really fascinating about acupuncture. I've heard good things about it, so might be worth a thought...

Whiteroses hang on in there - it can take ages for the HCG to build up for some people apparently. I am going to try and leave it until middle of next week if AF hasn't arrived by then. Fingers crossed for you!

Have a good Friday chaps. Christmas tree going up tomorrow which should keep my mind of clearblue in bathroom cabinet.

sevans · 04/12/2009 15:37

Hello. Just wanted to check in. I went ahead and took the rest of the week off so I have had these four days at home to relax. The pain is much better now and I get cramps here and there but they aren't too bad. The bleeding has slowed down as well but I never had anything heavy so I am wondering if I even will.

I had a dream last night that I was pregnant with a baby due 10/10/10 and it was July 2010 and I was ready to have my baby then. Maybe I was confused in my dream since this baby was supposed to be due in July. Strange! I will take a baby due in October because that means I would get pregnant in January. Who knows how long we are going to have to wait for things to settle down with my body to get back to normal although I wasn't too normal to begin with!

I confess to being a Twilight fan also but I agree that the books are better. The movies provide nice eye candy though!

Eleanora · 04/12/2009 12:34

Hi all,

Oh dear, was so excited about starting to TTC this month but my mother managed to put a dampener on it last night (not that she knows what we're planning ). She spent an hour on the phone to me complaining about having to look after my sister's 6 month old (which she does twice a week) going on and on about how tiring it is, how isolating it is etc. Oh well I suppose it's different if it's not your own child and you're nearly 60. But still, feel a bit deflated.

But the baby name book I ordered should be arriving soon so that will cheer me up

Have a good weekend everyone and take care x

claireinthecommunity · 04/12/2009 10:46

Morning all

Well, we (DH and I) have just put our return to TTC into action his morning I thought I would start the ball rolling, so to speak, as I noticed last month that I had some EWCM very early on in my cycle CD7,8,9 and I want all angles to be covered - just in case Will try every other day, for as long as we can manage it

Aly, very interesting about the acupuncture, you know you may be covered in terms of the bding, as you've been DTD so close to when you feel you've OV'd, you've probably already got some of those elusive little swimmers still hanging around

WhiteRoses, even though mine was for very different reasons, I feel that I've benefited hugely from our short break from TTC. Our break was for 2 months and it did go by quite quickly, hopefully it will for you too and you'll feel more relaxed about falling PG and the knock-on affect that will have for you at work

Sorry no more time to post, am off on a job today - will pop back on tonight.
