Calyx · 14/12/2009 07:06

Muser sorry about the duff bloods. I hope you're okay, we'll see you when you're back on here, big hugs.

I'm going back to work this morning, feeling a lot better but not looking forward to all the catching up groan.

AF just about finished so that's me on a fresh new cycle. Let's see what this month brings!

Ozziegirly · 14/12/2009 05:49

Yes, and it's funny now - I'm actually quite pleased if I ever feel queasy, as I chalk that up to another "symptom".

aly323 · 14/12/2009 04:55

Oh, and I forgot that I also wanted to let Chalky know how sorry I am to hear about your dog. We just lost one recently and very traumatically, so I'm very familiar with the pain. They are so special and it hurts so much when they're gone. I'm sorry...

aly323 · 14/12/2009 04:52

Bunny Congrats on the move and the new space!!! I love settling into a new place. We'll try very hard to add to the BFP list while your away!

Ozzie Your "jiggly walking" cracks me up! Embarrassed to say, I do pretty much the same thing. As for your symptoms, if you're anything like me, you can just tell yourself that the spots and cramping are actually your new symptoms! I'm able to convince myself I'm pregnant right up to my temp drop, which doesn't usually happen until a couple of days after af. It gets crazy, I can convince myself that almost anything is either a sign or a symptom. I've learned, however, not to share this with DH. He just gets worried that I'm going to get my hopes up and get crushed each month... which, so far, is exactly what has happened.

bunnygirl80 · 14/12/2009 03:39

We're moving house tomorrow (to proper place to live rather than horrible tiny apartment we're in now - yay) but can't get internet access for a week - boo.

Hopefully I'll come back to see some more BFPs.

DH has just realised that I post on MN rather than just reading it-I think he's worried that I'm posting all sorts of stuff about him as he keeps trying to look over my shoulder whenever I'm online now. Perhaps a few days away from the internet will throw him off the trail!!

bunnygirl80 · 14/12/2009 01:35

Muser I'm so sorry to hear that things haven't worked out this time. Take care of yourself.

Ozziegirly · 14/12/2009 01:33

aly I"m afraid this;

"My days are pretty much spent feeling myself up and checking my panties." just made me snort with pent up laughter.

I spend quite a lot of time walking in a jiggly way and thinking "slightly painful nipples? maybe"

Last week I fely slightly queasy, had glowingly lovely skin ( ) a weird taste in my mouth and was thinking "god, maybe we've actually gone and got me pregnant"!

And then the spots and vague cramping started and I lost all the other feelings.

Taking pictures at the foster care party sounds great though, although I would be horribly overcome with emotion probably.

aly323 · 14/12/2009 00:44

Muser, I'm so sorry. We'll be here whenever you're ready. Just take care of yourself.

Ozzie and Claire, me three.

Today, I volunteered to take pictures for a foster care Christmas party. It was wonderful. Lots of babies and kids. It's another option for us if this doesn't work out. One nine-year old really got to me. She is a difficult placement and needs a home. It would be tough, but...

The party was a good distraction from my obsessing. My days are pretty much spent feeling myself up and checking my panties. I felt different for awhile, but anything new and different stopped yesterday. Now, I'm just crampy. If I can hold off till Tuesday it'll be an improvement at least.

claireinthecommunity · 13/12/2009 23:59

To be honest Ozzie, if DH initiated sex now (when I think I'm past OV), I would think: what's the point too!

claireinthecommunity · 13/12/2009 23:47

Muser, I'm so sorry, take care.

Ozziegirly · 13/12/2009 23:26

Muser I am so sorry. Thinking of you - take care of yourself. xx

Well I was feeling vaguely hopeful over the weekend as I had no AF signs at all - but then I woke up this morning with three spots (gah! I"m 32!) and feel a bit crampy, so I think AF is on her way.

So this coming month, hopefully my fertile time will coincide with the Christmas break. I am avidly reading "Taking Charge of your fertility" and think this month I will be doing everything it recommends.

kkas I do sympathise - DH and I are certainly not keeping the neighbours up with our bonking - we are traditionally once a week type people and I have really had to overly enourage DH to be more forthcoming than that.

We've been together 10 years, so that first rush of "can't get enough of each other" wore off ages ago, and now we have comfortable married sex, which is very nice, very enjoyable, but just not very often!

If we manage 3 times during a fertile time I am pleased, as more often than not it's twice for us too - which is why I need to be more targeted I think.

TTC certainly does take some of the fun out though. If DH initiates on CD25 (or something), I do inwardly think "what's the flippin point of this" - although I try my very hardest not to show it - but do also end up, unromantically thinking "well, at least it'll empty them out a bit and make way for nice new swimmers".

I have never admitted that to anyone before!

God, this baby making is not the romantic, "making love in front of a roaring fire" deal that I imagined it to be.

CJ2007 · 13/12/2009 22:19

Thinking of you muser. Take care chick. Xxx

hey! thanks again for all your lovely comments. it's so nice to have the support here and i'm really starting to feel like i'm getting to know all of you.

chin up aly. i am so glad that we are not the only couple going through this. and i am really keeping my fingers crossed for you guys this month!!!

chalky so sorry to hear about your dog. i know that losing a pet is such a hard thing to go through. take it easy hun and let us know if you need to talk.

i finally bit the bullet and went to see my friend and her new 3 week year old baby today. and let me tell you, despite all my fears of breaking down in sobs of jealousy, none of that happened and it was 3 hours of absolute bliss getting to hold her. of course she slept most of the time, but even when she did start to cry cuz she was getting hungry and her mum was getting her bottle ready, i managed to get her back to sleep in the meantime! felt so natural and so happy and was just amazing. my friend knows we are TTC and was so kind saying that she didn't want me to feel bad but i was truthfully able to say how happy i was for them and she reassured me it's only a small matter of time and we will have our own. so good to have such great friends and also to have babies in our lives.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 13/12/2009 13:51

Pixie, maybe you can join me and Aly with a November baby? Keep September for you.

Honeymoo, I'd like to give you the positive line about where there's no AF there's hope, but its a bit of a begger that early pregnancy signs are the same as AF symptoms, so you just never know. Fingers crossed for a BPF though. It's very common to get lots of nagatives before a positive, so you've plenty of reasons to be hopeful.

Muser got everything crossed for you. Really hoping that the results are good and you've got a stayer.

rollerbaby · 13/12/2009 12:54

Good luck for later Muser - am thinking of you...

Still no AF and another BFN yesterday. Worked out that we did have some action about 9 days ago, which if I ov'd later than I actually thought could mean... Well, let's see. Have had bloody backache for the last few days and crampy feelings so could well be AF taking her time. I have no idea.

Muser · 13/12/2009 12:01

It is today pixie, I was at the hospital for 9.30am to have my blood taken. Will find out after 5pm today.

I think you should go for an October or November baby. If your birthday is in September than you don't want to lose your birthday celebrations in the fuss over the baby! A good gap is definitely needed, so everyone remembers to spoil you .

pixiestix · 13/12/2009 11:51

Hi all! This thread seems to be moving very fast these day!

Congrats Muser and Hypothetical, lovely news! Is it today that you are having your bloodwork done Muser? Hope that it all goes ok for you.

Zippys - I know exactly how you feel about being simultaneously excited when we get BFPs on here, and ragingly jealous. You, Kkas and Ozzie were some of the first people I spoke to when I joined Mumsnet and I really didn't think that we would still all be on this thread come December Hopefully that means that we are all due some good news pronto - the statistics say so!!

Kkas - I am laughing at the thought of you totally pissed and throwing up in the train station Who says that us would be Mummy's have to be sensible pre-pregnancy!! There will be time enough to be sober and serious when we all get our BFPs.

Aly - I wish I could think like you and work on my "kick-ass" body while I TTC - I put dieting on the back shelf when I started in June as I had read that it could affect ovulation. All that has happened is that I have got fatter (which can also affect ovulation!) yet don't have a baby Angry with myself!

Yorkshire - good advice about picking a month to focus on. I can't decide on my month, but will have a think about it today!! I would really like a September baby, as I am a September baby, but that means I will have to get pg this month or early next month so its putting a bit too much pressure on it! Well done for going to the doctors - it means that if there is a problem you can deal with it swiftly, and if there isnt a problem you can stop worrying

Sorry that AF got you WhiteRoses - it just shows that this promotion is the right thing for you, and when you start TTC again you will get pg immediately! [positive thinking emoticon]

I am well into the 2WW now - which isnt really a 2WW at all as I didnt ov until day 19. I actually can't wait until AF is due - I just want to know one way or another!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 13/12/2009 10:57

Homebound I think you might need to start pushing the doc for some sort of intervention. I know stress can bugger up your cycle and it could be a temprary blip and things will get back to normal eventually, but I'm sure there are tests they can do to find out if there's a problem. maybe give yourself a short deadline (until the new year, pehaps?) and then go to teh docs and insist on further investigation? I'm not sure what they can do, but I'm sure my bumper book of getting pregnant will have guidance, I'll investigate.

Loads of sympathy with the why do teenagers get pregnent by sneezing rant. Sad fact is, women are at their most fertile when it is socially unacceptable to have children, and in decline by the time most of us get to a stage where we think its a good idea. If I'd have know it was gong to be this problematic, I'd have started earlier, but its only in the past couple of years that I think I've got myself into a good position to have kids (married, reasonable sized house / income, good place on the career ladder to take a pause). Its one of modern life's horrible ironies that when you get the rest of your life sorted in order to accomodate a family, your bady is starting to go off the boil!

bunnygirl80 · 12/12/2009 23:14

kkas - I treated myself to a bottle of wine last night! Slightly sore head this morning though.

homebound cycle day 73 - did the doc give you any reason for this? Have they arranged any tests to find out why this cycle's been so long? I'm sure it's not the menopuase though.

Got a phone call from DH's best friend yesterday announcing that he's getting married next week. Came as a bit of a shock to us as he only got engaged a month ago. Turns out his girlfriend is pregnant so that's why they're getting married so soon. Made me feel a bit annoyed that she got pregnant accidentally and here we all are planning it and trying so hard. Feel a bit for our friend though as I can't help feeling that he's being forced into a marriage that he's not really ready for.
