Evening all,

Just a quick post from me, as I've just had a long snowy drive home (to the midlands) from North Yorkshire and I'm knackered.

Claire, I'm getting very excited by the prospect of you testing on Christmas day - I really hope its a good result (and that you let us all know!)

Lol at the boob monitoring - my DH is very keen to be responsible for that as well! Not that there is much in teh way of symptoms over here. Whilst I was driving North I had some mild cramping that I thought might be implantation, but it's probably just normal ebbing and flowing that goes on all all teh time and I've never noticed before cos I've never paid such close attention to my body before.

Re the temping debate, I have been temping since september, using fertility friend to record data (I also track BDing, CM and sundry other symptoms - including horniness!! ). It's not that much of a hassle (it takes 2 minutes and I do it as soon as I wake up), although I do occasionally miss at the weekend. I find it helps me feel like I'm doing something productive (also, I'd been off the pill for a year before starting to chart, so was partly motivated by the thought that we might need medical assistance at some point - I want to have plenty of data to share with the medics if required). And my inner nerd quite like having charts and stats to look at and check progress.

I'm in for my first blood test tomorrow morning. Now that I have got over the initial worry about medicalising our TTC I'm quite looking forward to getting to the route cause of the problem. And I'll have some professional data to add to the stuff I've been collecting myself!

Well, this has ended up a bit longer than expected. Am off to bed now - need to be rested and refreshed and ready to face the needle tomorrow morning.

"Yes Kaloki I did get my HPTs today, there was a choice of supermarket own brand or Clearblue, I got a double pack of Clearblue digital - not cheap are they!?! Haven't tested yet, am still planning on testing on Christmas morning. How are things with you? still no AF I hope"

I bought some of those today Claire, they really aren't cheap ! I shall be testing Xmas day too, then no doubt running on here to hear your result! Still no AF so it's looking good.

Ceebs > sorry to hear that, know what you mean with the random cycle, mine has done that since removing the coil, I'm hoping this isn't just an excessively long cycle for me.

ceebs05 · 22/12/2009 19:06

Hi all

Well AF has got me today so am back on CD1. Had started to think I could be PG due to big boobs (had to laugh Kaloki at your DP on boob watch - my hubby likes to monitor that symptom too!) and the fact that I was much later than last month but think my periods are just settling down after coming off the pill (although that was september so seems a while now?)

I now officially don't know what length my cycle is - it has ranged from 24 days to 31 in recent months.

Good luck to all who are testing soon and congrats to those who have got their BFPs!

claireinthecommunity · 22/12/2009 18:42

Hello everyone

Yes Kaloki I did get my HPTs today, there was a choice of supermarket own brand or Clearblue, I got a double pack of Clearblue digital - not cheap are they!?! Haven't tested yet, am still planning on testing on Christmas morning. How are things with you? still no AF I hope

Thank you Ozzie

Lol at Eleanora, my boobs seem to be bigger too And Kaloki, my hubby is always on boob watch

Thanks for the update Zippy, let's hope you get some answers or news soon

Hobnob, I was extremely horny during my fertile time this month, have just checked my diary and we DTD five times in eight days (not sure if I should be embarrassed about the amount of sex or the fact that I wrote it in my diary , bet we all do it though )

Hi Curly, it's nice that you're still popping back to check up on us and letting us know how you're getting on, bet you can't wait till you finish work now

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your birthday kkas

Good to see you back bunny

Sounds like good practice Calyx, I babysat two of my nieces lots when they were small, it gives you a close bond with them as they get older - the same two were my bridesmaids when DH and I got married

Hope I haven't missed anyone! All our Christmas shopping is now done (hooray), going to tackle the ironing and do a bit of cleaning tomorrow to get it out of the way before Christmas, hopefully that will take my mind off of the two Clearblues sitting in the bathroom medicine basket

Kaloki · 22/12/2009 16:29

I can't see him refusing! lol

Eleanora · 22/12/2009 16:28

Hey Kaloki, that's hilarious! Perhaps I should ask DH to do the same

Kaloki · 22/12/2009 16:20

I know how you feel Eleanora, but don't give up hope yet! Also, my DP is on boob watch duty, he has to let me know if they get bigger or not, funily enough I've had no complaints, and he's been singing "gigantic boooooobs" at me all morning.

claireinthecommunity Did you get the HPT? Have you tested?

Eleanora · 22/12/2009 15:46

Afternoon all,

Fingers crossed you get an answer soon zippys.

Ok I'm an idiot - yesterday decided that boobs were inflating and I was surely pregnant. Did a test first thing this morning and (unsurprisingly) BFN . But AF not due until next week so don't know why I bothered. Can't test again till Wed 30th as we are staying with my family over Xmas and then DH has invited his parents to stay with us on Mon and Tues. None know we are TTC and really don't want to test with them in the house. Also now I can't remember how big my boobs normally are . Is this normal??

zippys · 22/12/2009 11:38

Hi another lightening post from me as I am meant to be working! But just wanted to update you re the docs. He said that he needs to rule out pregnancy so send me for blood tests and really sensitive urine test at the hospital this morning, dont get the results until New Year, but not really that hopeful as I have had a period since feeling sick and done loads of test including another one this morning and they were all negative. However if I fell pregant this month then the asda test says it is too early to tell so will have to wait till I get a first response and wait until Xmas eve.

Sorry for another me me me post but just wanted to keep you all updated, I promise I will have more time over Christmas to catch up. xx

Hobnob76 · 22/12/2009 11:19

Thank you CurlyCasper!

Can't wait to get started on this month of trying! Anyone else found that their sex drive has gone through the roof whilst TTC ? Poor DH is constantly thinking I'm going to jump on him!

CurlyCasper · 22/12/2009 10:43

Yeay hobnob! Glad you're up and running now - Good luck!

Glad you had a ice birthday kkas

hello to everyone else. Little to report here - just trying to get through the last few days of work before Christmas [fsmils]

kkas · 22/12/2009 10:25

morning girls - thanks for all the lovely bday wishes. Was a pretty low key one actually, as DH still not very well. But nice to relax after all the run up to xmas. Just ready for it to be here now!

whiteroses i live in the UK now (my DH is english), but am American and grew up in California. I took the Cal bar exam cuz we may someday want to move back and I just wanted to get it over with so I could hopefully get a job there too. If the weather stays like this much longer, I think that moving day will come sooner than later!

good luck to those coming up to testing!

Hi CurlyCasper, yep tis I! I've finally graduated the waiting to conceive thread and WTT on B&B! Woo hoo! Tried very very casually last month for the 1st time and I knew we'd got our timing wrong as DH was ill around the time I probably OV'd. Nice to see you've graduated, congratulations!

Hi Eleanora I think its the best way to go for now for us. I can't be bothered with having to faff taking a temp before I've even woken up properly!

Thanks for the welcome Calyx

Hi WhiteRoses, sounds like a good plan I think, have mentioned this to DH, he said I'd kill him with that much sex!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Calyx · 22/12/2009 07:24

Hi ozzy that's cool that your friend is pg at the same time, I'm looking forward to your scan lol! My friend is in the same boat, last ivf and she's pg with twins too!

bunnygirl I agree the thread so fast, if I don't peek in daily it runs away and it's an hour to catch up!

I'm babysitting my niece (nearly 4) after work, wish me luck getting her to sleep!

bunnygirl80 · 22/12/2009 01:00

Hi everyone

I'm back online

I see ozzie followed my instructions and got a BFP while I was gone. Massive congratulations to you - I'm really happy for you especially as you were feeling so down about TTC this month.

Whiteroses Glad to see you're back to TTC again. I think that there's never a "right time" for TTC with work etc. I came to the conclusion that if DH and I waited until everything else in our lives was jsut right we'd be about 107 so we're just getting on with it! Looks like we're cycle buddies too this month.

Hi to everybody else-will try and catch up on the rest of the thread-it moves so fast it'll probably take me all day

Ozziegirly · 22/12/2009 00:08

kaloki it's not over until AF arrives and the others are right, it may just be too early.

whiteroses I"m glad you're not taking a break too. Probably in an idea world we would have a bigger savings pot before getting me pregnant, but there's always some reason to delay!

Well my news is that I had a Dr appt yesterday and all was fine - she didn't really do anything apart from talk through the next steps.

I now have an Obs as well and have a scan and my first appointment at 10 weeks on the 27 january. They sounded really nice. In the meantime I have a blood test next week for a whole variety of things (iron, HIV, vitamin D etc etc).

Still feel fine - bit tired and boobs feel full, and a bit tender, but apart from that I'm ok. 5 weeks today!

claire I am keeping my fingers crossed about you, I have a good feeling!

Also, a friend of mine has had years of unsucessful IVF, and I found out yesterday that she is 6 weeks pregnant, with a high possibility of twins! This was her last attempt at IVF as well. Am keeping everything crossed that it works out ok for her.

Kaloki · 21/12/2009 23:30

Mmmm fankyou!!

Calyx · 21/12/2009 23:29
Kaloki · 21/12/2009 23:06

I want banoffee pie!!

Ooh good luck Claire!

Calyx · 21/12/2009 22:26

Ha haa DH got home early from work and I ambushed him before he even sat down and then he made me a cuppa ! For that I will forgive his mate coming over for a beer (unplanned and I hadn't hoovered ho well)

Kaloki I've got my fingers crossed for you too and I'm sure there are a few BFNs before the levels are high enough to register +ve, just like Claire said The lunch was mad! Pasta, party food, chicken curry, gosh loads and someone made banofee (?sp) pie yummm! Had four patients booked in the afternoon but 2 didn't come in (really icy today) so it was a challenge not falling asleep!

Claire you sound so well organised, good job lady . May the HPT you buy be the one that is BFP

claireinthecommunity · 21/12/2009 21:56

Kaloki, as others have said, no AF is a good thing, you may just not have enough HCG in your system yet. Fingers crossed

Thanks for the cuppa and biccy Calyx

All presents but one (picking it up tomorrow) wrapped and under the tree Just got the Christmas food shop to do now, am going to buy a HPT from the supermarket too

Kaloki · 21/12/2009 21:19

Calyx it was one of the Clearblue ones, was going to get a digital one but they'd sold out.

Also your lunch sounds lovely, I enjoy nice long relaxed lunches

Calyx · 21/12/2009 18:20

Whoooo it's cold isn't it! I hate icy roads, and they weren't gritted this morning either... scary driving.
Whiteroses - it's lovely that you're TTC again! Bummer about the later start and them asking you about evening shifts. Stand your ground, best of luck with the negotiating. I like having cycle buddies, it's good to know there's someone going through each bit at the same time as me! Maybe your relaxed approach 'not going all out' will make a difference, here's hoping for you

Maybe Homebound et al lost the thread when it started anew? I took about a week to find it myself. I wonder if they are all maybe in other threads or still looking for us! (Or of course pg!)

Zippys I hope you get on okay at the Doctor and feel better soon from your sickness. Best of luck and fingers crossed if you do test on Christmas Eve! I'll be thinking of you

OOooh HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kkas! What a lovely DH you have! The lazy sofa days sound great, my favourite way to relax. I'm betting you get BFP before your sis, lots of luck to you both!

Kaloki what kind of test did you use? I've seen quite a lot of people get negatives on the cheaper tests but seem to think First Response (expensive ones grrr) are supposed to be quite good? Like Whiteroses said, no AF means there's still hope even if it shows negative on FR, are you still feeling the symptoms, metallic taste? Sorry about your back, I'm glad it's been okay today, keep warm! xx

Hiya Claire well done with the christmas shopping, hope you have a well earned cuppa tea before wrapping/organising more

I didn't manage to DTD this morning (slept past my alarm!!). But I did have a lovely lunch at work today, we all brought in something and took an hour and a half, I'm still full up LOL Maybe have energy to ambush him when he gets home tonight (although I suspect I'll be fast asleep way before he finishes work!)

Kaloki · 21/12/2009 17:37

Will try, at least the weather is bad enough to put me off going out to buy a test
