Happy 2010 everyone! I'm feeling very spoilt today, as it's my birthday, and DH has made breakkie in bed! Hope everyone had a fab night last night!

addie that sounds really really promising, especially if it's not a symptom you normally have! Are you temping and if so have they gone sky high? Will keep fingers crossed!

aly I know what you mean about how much has changed in the last 10 years - I've met and married my DH, moved 12000 miles from home to set up a new life in the UK, bought a house and now started TTCing! All very much life milestones - and now I can't help but think 2010 must bring the next one - a BFP!!!

Bunny Whoops, forgot you were in OZ, thats the problem with having such a long thread! Glad things are on their way up now! I don;t think my DH has told anyone. I've told only my sister and a couple of close friends in RL - I didn't want the constant questioning, although one of my friends seems to have taken that tack and everytime I see her now she asks.. must say something about that..

Anyway, have a great day all!

NovemberAli · 01/01/2010 10:49

Happy New Year all! Wishing everyone lots of BFP success for 2010!

Addie - the only slight clue I had was cramping about 4-5 days before AF due, I don't normal have cramps pre-AF, usually back ache, but I thought it was maybe with my cycles regulating again post-pill - now looking back perhaps it was the bean settling in, fingers crossed for you!

Calyx · 01/01/2010 09:55

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a nice time for Hogmanay

aly323 · 01/01/2010 03:16

Bunny, glad to hear you're feeling better. I think it's great that your DH is talking about TTC with people. He's excited! Mine told his parents right away- as you can guess, they were thrilled. I didn't mind, as I have told loads of people and keep adding more to the list daily. Even though it's taking a little longer than expected, I'm still ok with people knowing. Luckily, everyone seems to be very considerate.

Honeymoo, would LOVE to hear more about your puppy!!!

WhiteRoses, I find EWCM to be very confusing in my case. I don't usually have much, sometimes I have none when I actually O, but I also sometimes have a day of it about a week before I actually O. It makes it all that much more confusing for me. However, assuming you are nice and normal, it sounds as though you actually had perfect timing.

bunnygirl80 · 01/01/2010 00:34

Happy New year everybody

Seems like AF has done the rounds-sorry to everyone that she's got

Whiterose As I understand it you ovulate on the last day that you have EWCM so whenever you see it you should bd! Once you don't notice it anymore then you should have ov'd.

Honeymoo you must be so excited to be getting a puppy. I'm usually terrified of dogs, but I like cocker spanials cos they have such cute ears

Worrisome If only my low temps were down to the big freeze - it 25 degrees here.....but that is unseasonably cold for December in Oz!

Yorkshire Annoying for you that AF has stayed away on the one month you want her to arrive. Hopefully she's late for the right reason. Have you tested at all this month?

After my rant yesterday I'm feeling much happier today. Had a lovely time with DH watching the fireworks last night. Temps starting to head upwards this morning so seems like everything's working after all. I think I'm getting super worked up this month as would really like a BFP because testing day will be DH's birthday so it would be a lovely present for him.

I've noticed that we all spend time on here discussing who we've told about TTC in RL. But do any of is know who our DH's have told? I was chatting to DH the other night about a couple he worked with and how they're TTC#2 at the moment. Asked him how he knew this...apparantly he had spoken to the girl about our decision to TTC, turns out he discussed it with a couple of his other female friends too!!!! And here's me trying to keep it quiet! I don't mind though, it's a big thing for him and at least he has close friends he can talk to

aly323 · 01/01/2010 00:20

I've been insanely busy lately and haven't done a very good job at keeping up with you ladies. I just wanted to welcome the newcomers and congratulate Eleanora and November (if I didn't before).

Addie, your spotting sounds VERY promising! You may just be the first Jan BFP!

oh, and I agree that 33 isn't "old" in any way. I'm turning 36 in a couple of weeks, so I don't even want anyone to suggest that 33 is "old" .

Happy 2010 to everyone!
10 years ago, I did volunteer work with disabled adults right by time square in NYC. After midnight, I met a bunch of other friend's in a bar. As most NYE's, it fell short of expectations. However, the decade was very eventful. I've become a lawyer, lost my mom and took over care of my disabled brother, moved from NYC to LA, found my "other half", learned to ice-skate (and forgot again), bought a house, and so, so much more. I can't wait to see what adventures will come in the next decade! Hopefully babies for all!!!!!

mumnerves · 31/12/2009 22:59

Aww MN is the best!
turkeydrumstix, whiterose and worrisome: thanks for the reassurance!

yorkshireteadrinker hope you get a nice high temp tomorrow and thanks for the kind words!

Sorry to those who had AF last few days

Wishing you all a Happy New year with lots of babydust going around!

addie81 · 31/12/2009 21:19

sorry to those with AF's in the last couple of days. I have a mysterious symptom which I am now obsessing about (obviously!). I ovulated (according to first response ovulation predictor sticks) on day 16. On 7dpo and 9dpo (today)I have had spotting and some very slight cramping. I don't remember ever having had spotting before. One of my (embarassingly large selection) of pregnancy books says you can get implantation bleeding, so now am getting my hopes up, no doubt foolishly! What do you all think? AF not due until tuesday. Wishing everyone a happy and pregnant new year. x

WorrisomeHeart · 31/12/2009 19:53

Well, update for you all, AF has arrived with a vengeance . Not surpising really, as temps have been down for three days but there's always that little part of me that thinks when I'm even a day late..

Ah well, roll on next month. Got the forms etc from the fertility clinic today which is good - makes me feel like we're doing something about it all. yorkshire you're absolutely right - if someone told me that I would have to wait until May for my BFP I'd be fine about it, it's just the not-knowing and the thought that we could go on and on and never know if there's a problem. Very annoying about the blood test by the way, hope the shopping isn't too horrid.

Anyway, time to stop being so boring about myself and catch up with some of you...

bunnygirl could it still be the pre-ov temp dip? I had a huge dip this month, in fact my temps were lower than they've ever been but I put that down to the big freeze (outside of course, not in le boudoir - that won't get any BFP's made !) Hope it's nice and high tomorrow.

honeymoo sounds fab, you'll have to post a picture once you get the new arrival!

mrscino best of luck with the new business, but as kaloki says, let us know how you're doing!

Whiteroses Sorry if someone's suggested this already, but I've found Taking Charge of Your Fertility a really helpful book, esp when it comes down to the ewcm. I tend to have ewcm from about day 13 which considering I don't get the temp rise until around the day 17 mark means at least 4 days of manic bding! Are you temping? That's really helped me, but then I am a complete control freak..

Anyway, hope you all have a fab New Years.

mrscinco Know that feeling. Don't stay away too much, come back sometimes and let us know how you are.

mrscinco · 31/12/2009 11:43

CD 1 for me so out of the game for this month. Having had a talk with DH have decided to take the pressure off and just see what happens rather than actively trying. Don't know about anyone else but feel as though my life is on hold waiting for a baby that might not come. Really want to start our own business but have been scared to do so thinking best to have security and mat pay! Just need to get on with it otherwise we'll always regret it.

So going to start 2010 on a positive note and make loads of plans for our future - am also 33 so fingers crossed plenty of time yet anyway.

Sorry - very me me me and haven't actually posted for long so I doubt this of interest really (!) but will be avoiding MN and any googling of baby related stuff for the forseeable future.

Zippys - commiserations for you too.

Worrisome - good luck, sounds positive that you're late.

All the best everyone else - and happy 2010!x

WorrisomeHeart · 31/12/2009 11:24

Sorry to hear the AF has struck zippys Although on the (very small plus side) no holding back on the NYE festivities!!

Kaloki · 31/12/2009 10:21

zippys Sorry to hear that

yorkshireteadrinker I came off the coil. This is such a shock to the system, as I've been regular as clockwork since I was 11. Though strangely, my last cycle on the coil was late too.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 31/12/2009 09:52

Morning all,

It's sod's law, but the one month I'm hoping that AF will turn up on cue, there is no sign! I'm only a day late and I have had 30 day cycles before, so I'm not excited, as I expect it'll arrive some time today / tomorro (I am experiencing the full range of pre AF symptoms). But I'm bloody annoyed cos I was supposed to be at the docs for my second blood test today (they can only do this one during your period). So I've had to ring and cancel and docs is now closed for 4 days, so if AF turns up tonight, I've probably missed my chance to test this month - bah!

So as consolation for now having to wait until cycle 16 until I find out if there's anything wrong with me, I get to take my 5 months pregnant friend shopping for maternity clothes today! In RL I am generally very good at being not especially bothered about having a baby or not and most people don't know we are TTC (or if they do, I've let them know that we are just going to see what happens - don't really mind either way), but this morning I feel the need to share with all you lovely ladies that sometimes waiting to get pregnant totally sucks!!!

I think I feel better now.

Anyway, enough about me, Mumnerves, don't worry about being over emotional and irrational, it affects mosts of us (see above ) and definately don't worry about being too old, I'm 33 as well and I reckon we've got a few years of fertility left in us (although I occasionally feel like a barren old hag) and even if we do have problems (speaking about myself here) there's plenty of time left to fix 'em.

kaloki I agree with your DP, it probably is best to go see your GP if your next cycle is still alover the place. It can take a while to establish a regular cycle after coming off the pill (is that what you've done, or were you using something else?), so if you go too soon they will probably just tell you to wait a bit longer, but I think 4 cycles is a reasonable length of time to wait.

WorrisomeHeart - good idea to get the ball rolling on the testing. It will take another cycle for you to have the relevent tests done (much more straight forward for the blokes though ) as they will need to take bloods at the start and middle of your cycle. Hopefully there won't be a problem, but I think it will set your mind at ease if you get the all clear. I have always been prepared for it to take a long time, but I think it might be easier to be patient if you know there is nothing actually preventing you from concieving (and if there is, you'llhave found it and can fix it )

Pixie lol at "at the same time am scared shitless whenever there is the possibility that I am up-duffed!". I know what you mean - I am prepared to go to all sorts of lengths to get pregnant and yet I'm pretty sure I'll be terrified if I ever find out that I am!

You should automatically get tests on the NHS after 12 months of trying. If you don't want to / can't afford to go private, maybe give it another 2 or 3 cycles and then go to the GP and tell them you've been trying for a year. I don't generally advocate ripping off the NHS, but I think 10 months of serious TTC is long enough, and the year limit is fairly arbitary (they have to draw a line somewheer) so just tell 'em you've been trying for a year and you should get an automatic referal.

Ok, I need to get ready for shopping, so I?ll wind up this lengthy post with today?s list:
