hello everyone, can I join in please?

Officially speaking we are not really trying to conceive but 'not preventing pregnancy' - i.e. I am working on not going crazy planning everything and instead we will just go with the flow and see what happens... but I think that still counts as first-time frolicking, right?

So excited finally to be adding my stats to one of these lists... I don't have the confidence that I can update the list without messing it up, so could someone add me, please:

Pidgin TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL29-30 CD10

Thank you!

PS - CurlyCasper, delighted to hear things are going so well for you, congratulations!

Muser · 09/01/2010 11:59

Hello everyone. I've been a bit quiet as I don't really have anything to report. Don't think I'm going to be graduating this month, just hanging on for next month.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 09/01/2010 11:25

Morning all,

Hi curly and fulham, great to hear how you're getting on. Thanks fordropping in and letting us know that some of uus do actually go on to have BFPs!

Hope your house problems are soon sorted Kaloki, this is a bad time of year for teh gas to be off - I hope you're not too cold.

Sorry to hear about AF calyx, really sympathise about cycle 8 - feels like its going on for ever. But some of us just take a bit longer but we will get there (witness Ozziegirly last month ). I hope you're both feeling better soon and that January is your month.

addie hope the books help. I borrowed Zita West's book off a friend and its been really good. It focuses onoptimising your chances of natural conception, but the second half of the book looks at possible problems and assisted conception, which I have found really helpful. (My friend never got that far - she got pregnant on cycle three - grrr). I think being informed helps. Also, there are lots of small things you can do to try and maximise your body's chances, which can make you feel like you are a like more in control of the process.

Chalky - I know what you mean about "I feel like shouting 'we're trying, give us a chance!'". I am often tempted to respond, "we would but I'm a barren old hag", which I hope isn't the case, but it would at least shut people up!

I am gearing up for BDing action over the next week or so. It is becoming something of a chore now. Thankfully DH seems to be consistantly up for it , so its only me who needs to dredge up the enthusiasm. I don't think charting helps me in this respect as I tend to look at the chart and think, ooh, we haven't done it for three days, we'll have to do it tonight. This was so much more fun when it was unscheduled and optional...

Hi curly and fulham, great to hear how you're getting on reminds us all that there is light at the end of the TTC tunnel!

Good luck with your house problems Kaloki.

Sorry to hear about AF and your MIL calyx, hope you're both feeling better soon.

I'm AF symptom spotting now, when did I start being so negative about the whole TTC thing?! It just feels like it's never going to happen for us. I guess this is why mumsnet is great, reminds us all that we are not alone.

mumsnerves I know how it feels, seems like everyone I know is pregnant at the moment. It never used to bother me that much when people said to us that we should have children but after several months of TTC I feel like shouting 'we're trying, give us a chance!'. It does make me wonder how many couples we know in RL who are going through the same thing but don't let on, just like us.

mumnerves · 08/01/2010 23:33

Thanks all you crazy baby ladies for your lovely words You may all be crazy but all amazingly supportive

calyx sorry to hear about AF and hope MIL feels better soon!

Thank you also to those of you who got your BFP, and encouraging words, I'm feeling more positive today and at least you're all proof it can happen to us!

Hobnob76 Good luck, hope you get a BFP!

Can't wait to see the first BFP of the year! Good luck everyone testing this weekend!

Hobnob76 · 08/01/2010 23:20

mumnerves sorry AF got you Its difficult to be happy when someone you know announces their BFP whilst you're TTC, my friend announced hers recently, so I know how you feel

Thanks WhiteRoses nice to know someone else at the same stage

Newcastle16 welcome!

Calyx sorry to hear AF came, hope MIL gets better soon, also hope you get rid of the cold soon too!

Zippys hope you find the books useful, what have you ordered ?

addie hope you learn lots from your books, pass any tips this way please!

As for me, not much to report. Had a horrendous headache for much of today, along with a bit of backache and twisty pains in my tummy, but I'm not going to symptom spot honest!

addie81 · 08/01/2010 23:01

hi everyone, hope you are surviving the freezing weather. for once Scotland is not the coldest place in the UK which makes me very smug to live up here for a change! I have my pre-seed, which was delivered yesterday, and I am waiting for "taking charge of your fertility" and " zita west's guide to getting pregnant" to arrive from amazon, hopefully in plenty of time for me to learn any new tips before the crucial time of the month! fingers crossed for an early january BFP for someone soon. thanks for the pregnant girls for giving their updates - its lovely to know that it actually can happen! xdx

Kaloki · 08/01/2010 18:29

Hey everyone. Just a quick one to say it'll be longer than a week till I'm back, having serious housing problems right now (no heating, gas leak to name a few) and can only get online through my mobile. Will try and get on to see how you're all doing as much as I can. Good luck everyone!

pixiestix · 08/01/2010 14:31

Ahhhh, wow, all the old-skoolers back together again!! Feels like its summer 2009 all over again, lol

Fulham - so good to hear from you!! Time has flown by, I can't believe you are on the verge of finding out the sex of your baby! Harry and Lily are fab names btw!

Curly - that pic made me go all wobbly! Not a little jelly baby anymore!

Oh god, I'm so broody I don't know what to do with myself. And I'm only one day into the two week wait. Arrrrggggghhhhhh!

Morning all, sorry I've not been on, just updating stats to reflect my new cycle, hope I haven't messed anyone's up. Feel awful with AF, sinus face head cold and my poor MIL fell on the ice hitting her head on NY eve and was in hospital with a blood clot for 4 days, she's okay now just weak and dizzy etc. I'm 'on call' to go over there this weekend as she can't get out of the house (stairs down to the front door and too much ice out anyway) so hoping this cold goes away.

Hiya Newcastle, if you give us your statistics we can add you to the list

pmsl at crazy baby ladies!! It's better than being a crazy cat lady I suppose.

chance my in-laws will be here for ages so if no AF I will be testing while they're here. would probably tell them straight away if it was a bfp anyway as it would be a shame to wait until they're 10000 miles away again and announce the news via skype.

whiteroses it seems like we've been waiting forever for our stuff. It had to wait at the docks for ages to get on a boat so it's been delayed. The weather here is sunny and hot, although it hasn't got up to 36degrees since a couple of weeks ago. It's too warm to do anything when it's that hot so we just end up stuck indoors!

I think I've finally got a job sorted, but it's going to involve being away from home for 3 days every 2 weeks - will be annoyed if this coincides with bd time each month but it's a great opportunity so will have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

chancewouldbeafinething · 07/01/2010 22:55

Whiteroses hope you enjoyed the day back at work. Sounds like a good idea to get some OPKs just to put your mind at ease. Can't hurt right?

Bunnygirl - novel idea, maybe we should all spend the 2ww trying not to find symptoms Good luck with the visit from the in-laws...mine arrive this w/end also, at least i wont be tempted to try and take a test while they are here!

mumnerves Sorry to hear you had a bad day, always hard to be positive esp when no one knows you're ttc. Just remember it will be you one day!

Good luck to all travelling in the snow tomorrow

pixiestix · 07/01/2010 21:53

Lol Worrisome! I am loving the idea of us all as the crazy baby ladies! Can't wait until we all really are - not just the crazy TTC ladies that we are at the moment

Mumnerves - good to know its not just me who wants to throw a great big tantrum sometimes! Thank god for this thread so we don't go totally mad and snap at people!

OP posts:
chalky3 · 07/01/2010 21:26

Hi everyone, thought I should make an appearance as I've been absent for a little while. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and you're all bearing up well in this freezing weather, at least we are having a proper winter for a change rather than the usual cold rain.

Been reading everyone's posts to get up to date with what's happening with everyone. Sorry to those who have recently had the arrival of AF, drinking Bailey's does seem the best thing to do in the circumstances mumsnerves! Shame there's not been any BFPs in 2010 yet but it's early days.

AF could make an appearance for me anytime in the next couple of weeks judging by my last two cycle lengths. Managing to keep the symptom spotting under control and pretty much resigned to no BFP this month. I've started following a friends advice of not planning my life around possibly getting pregnant, it's no fun missing out on nights out and other stuff because of something which may or may not happen soon. Does make planning holidays later in the year a bit tricky though!

Good luck to everyone for 2010

WorrisomeHeart · 07/01/2010 20:35

Hi all - just a really quick one as DH is angling for a go at the laptop (and as it's his, I guess I SHOULD share...)

Mumnerves So sorry to hear about AF, I was hoping you would be our first BFP of 2010. Sounds like your DH and the Baileys are helping! I know exactly what you mean about your friend though - I had dinner with a friend I've had since I was tiny about a month ago. She knows we're TTCing and guess what - no cocktails for her because lo and behold she's preggo... first time trying... she's so not been trying that she wasn't even taking folic acid (ooh listen to the judgemental one! I hear you all say ) She was initially quite sensitive to the fact that we've been trying for ages with naught to show for it, but then later on in the evening went on to say how boring her life would be for the next 9 months and how lucky I was to be able to drink/eat kidneys/sky dive etc. Which TBH I was a bit taken aback by and felt like saying 'let's swap hmmmm?'
Blergh, sorry that turned into a bit of a rant. It's hard to keep a supportive smile on your face when you're up against that type of thing is (I think) where I was going with that! Will move on now...

Kaloki - best of luck with the move and I really hope that the snow doesn't cause too much havoc!

bunnygirl lol at the thin walls...

Must go now, as DH is threatening to withhold BD privileges if I don't stop 'wittering away to those crazy-baby-ladies' (his words not mine!!)

Welcome to all the newbies! Stay warm everyone!

mumnerves · 07/01/2010 20:17

Welcome newcastle16! Everyone here is so friendly, I've only just joined myself

whiteroses Thanks for the lovely supportive pep talk, I needed one! I know what you mean about the 'reasons'. I'm visiting my parents next month and have been planning for the last 3 months how I'd break the news to them! It's mad!! I've started temping this month though and at least will find out a bit more about my cycle. I was very good today and didn't burst out crying or had a tantrum when someone asked me if we wanted kids I also wanted to say what a fantastic person you are doing a job like that! Well done you! will be keeping my fingers crossed for your BFP later this month!

Newcastle16 · 07/01/2010 11:04

Hi Everyone, I'm new to MOMSNET, could I join this thread? Me and My DH are married a year and in the last few months have started trying for a baby.. few things didn't go well during the key days the first 2 months but hopefully going forward!

I'm really excited today as I've had a lot of problems with cysts and have been told I may have problems so I did an ovulation test yesterday that came up positive. I can't believe I actually ovulated! We had BD straight away but not sure if anyone has advice on how often in that phase we should do it? As it was the first time I've taken an ovulation test I'm not sure if i've just started or ended my ovulation time.. I'm always 28 days cycle..

So excited and so nervous!
