right then,

DH has decided that after two regular cycles post EP we can try again....was very excited about that prospect until it hit me like a thunderbolt....i only have ONE TUBE NOW....of course i knew this but now i really KNOW this IYSWIM and now feel a peculiar mix of and of course and at the whole situation we find ourselves in....

I want to be positive that it will happen and won't require assisted conception but am really nervous and scared it is going to take forever....or not happen at all....{trying not to think like that....}

calling all one-tubers for a bit of handholding and good old MN support......lets go through it together....

Thanks. It's so nice to be somewhere where people understand all the weird things going through my head!

Have booked a Dr appointment for Saturday morning, so will see where we go from there.

I checked out the Darent Valley website, and realised it's right next to DH's work (he works in Greenhithe) so it might be convenient from that POV. Since QM is at the bottom of my road, though, I might stick with it - if they're still accepting new patients! I kind of want to face the fear head-on, and going back there would definitely be doing that!

DH's reaction was spectacularly understated - I think "mmmm" was the only word I got when I showed him the CB. He knew we were trying (tho he did ask the other day if the Pregnacare I bought was a contraceptive - the picture of the pregnant lady on the front might be a giveaway!) but I think he's worried about the financial situation. But, we managed when I took 12 months maternity leave last time, we'll manage again! If it comes to that

boodleboot · 26/01/2010 10:16

OOOHHHHMMMMMYYYYYGGGOOOOOODDDDDD

that is absolutely brilliant! Yay, a preg buddy!!! It is natural to think that something will be wrong, i know i did, on a thread i am on, on the ectopic pregnancy trust there are six on the same thread now with beans in the right place and i thought exactly the same...oh no, bet i am the one....remember statistically you have a 90% chance that beanie is in right place and then a 75percent chance the preg will be totally fine....

hey, CB's don't register faint or not faint...they just give you the facts! you are PREGNANT!!!

Definitely get yourself a scan before the trip to check all in right place. I have found woolwich to be really good so far...and totally NOT sidcup which was a bonus for me....

this is wonderful news!!!!

OP posts:
Appleton · 26/01/2010 09:03

And of course I'm still thinking that faint line = not good. And that since everything is going well for you boodle that someone on the thread must have a rougher time of it, so I'm convinced that'll be me. My mind is a strange place sometimes!

But how fab if we can be a few weeks apart!

Appleton · 26/01/2010 09:00

Morning all! Well, I did another Superdrug one last night - faint line. Cheapy internet and Superdrug this morning, both faint lines - but still not dark enough for me, so I cracked open a CB digital - pregnant 1-2!!!!! I got a BFP!!

Can't quite believe it, especially as DH and I only did the deed about 3 times this month, and not at the right time at all - day 7, day 16-ish (and neither of us finished, IYKWIM), and then not until day 23 - how did I get a BFP from that?!?

Now, the big issue is that I fly in 11 days, so need to try and blag a scan before then - which means it's unlikely I'll get to see a heartbeat, but hopefully they'll be able to check it's at least where it should be.

I'm still very much in shock, and trying not to think ahead too much. Guess that means no rum punch or Red Stripe on my hols though - typically rubbish timing on my part, but obviously I'd much rather this than the alternative!

boodleboot · 26/01/2010 08:41

come come....what news apple???

OP posts:
HaveToWearHeels · 25/01/2010 21:36

Best of luck Appleton I had a very faint line on first test, we did three actually, all one after the other and couldn't decide. So sent DP out to get a CB,which was difinative. Fingers crossed

boodleboot · 25/01/2010 19:01

oh my goodness....just imagine if you are...that would be SOOOOO exciting....

leave it til the morning then

i will be loggin on with bated breath in the morning....

Appleton · 25/01/2010 17:46

Well, I ran out to Superdrug and got 4 of their own brand and 2 CB digital. Used an own brand one as soon as I got back and nothing. But then remembered I've drunk lots of water and been going to the loo more than usual. So I'm going to leave the next one until tomorrow morning, to make sure it's as concentrated as possible!

Still feeling quite nauseous all the time, and my boobs are definitely tender and bigger. I hate the waiting!!!

boodleboot · 25/01/2010 15:37

crkey....well i will repeat what i have heard time and time again

A LINE IS A LINE IS A LINE...... smile] smile]

i never new that about waiting til wee was room temp, never donw that in my life. I got a ridiculously early positive this time but don't think that is definitive of anything....test again this afternoon....i got better lines in the afternoon that FMU anyway....

getting a positive test earlier than day AF due is GREAT.....x

OP posts:
Appleton · 25/01/2010 13:12

Ummm, OK so I had the faintest line on a First Response this morning. Not even sure if it was a line. I asked my husband what he saw, and he replied "impatience"!!!

Still nothing on the internet cheapies, which are supposed to be more sensitive. Maybe because I never wait for my wee to get to room temperature (OK, so my husband may have a point!)

boodle - when did you get your first positives. I'm now only 2 days before AF is due, and worrying that if it even WAS a line, not-strong line = not-strong bean

Hope everyone is having a great Monday.

boodleboot · 24/01/2010 13:57

ooooh apple that would be amazing....hun, i just had butterflies in my stomach for you....the taste {mine is more like sour milk} and damned headaches were two of my first symptoms and i tested myself into a +ve so really have everything crossed for you...

one of my FB friends just had a baby girl yest....its so horrible when your first thought is a jealous one isn't it, still THIS year will be OUR year girls.....its so difficult about the posting of scan pics because i know that i will want to do it too when i get one to put up....difficult.

i am trying to not buy any maternity clothes until after the 12wk scan....{except those four tops i picked up at bluewater in the HM sale.........}but my trousers are soooo tight come afternoon....-scrum i reckon a trip to the shops after then ON HIM will be happening for sure...

DH has worked out that i am not feeling sick in the mornings only in the evenings so we actually had some lovely time in bed together this morning before i got up to teach at church.....i was a bit at first as just having that irrational 'what if this causes a mc' thoughts....he was gentle and did NOT go near my boobs which i thought was pretty impressive for him....first shag of the year that has not been 'shaggin with intent' IYSWIM...

OP posts:
Appleton · 23/01/2010 21:55

Evening ladies!

scrum hope you're having a fab weekend.

boodle I could fill a book with stupid things my DH has done. I hope you've found some nice replacements if the bag hasn't turned up.

havetowearheels - I wish my DH was that tidy - he can walk past a bag of rubbish fo days without taking it outside. Drives me mad!

We just had a lovely takeaway and I now feel totall stuffed!

Have just been on Facebook to see another friend posting her 12 week scan pics on there - I didn't even know she was pregnant.

I'm having some strange possible "symptoms" this weekend - metallic taste yesterday, felt really, really nauseous this morning (to the point that I had to go back to bed) and a headache all afternoon. AF is due on Wednesday, and I've been doing my internet cheapies which are BFNs - also a First Response last night, again BFN. Not getting my hopes up at all - will just wait and see (while testing copiously obv!!)

Hope everyone's well.

HaveToWearHeels · 22/01/2010 22:17

Oh dear Boodle, my OH is exactley the same, he just bins stuff, and is constantly putting stuff away which drives me mad. Am currenly breastfeeding and get all settled, only to find the muslin has gone, my half drunk drink gone, the phone put back in the charger and book back on the bookshelf. He just doesn't understand I need all my stuff around me otherwise I am stuck ! Men !!!

I think your DH needs to take you out shopping, with him paying !

boodleboot · 22/01/2010 10:27

oh scrum that is hilarious.....will NEVER be able to sing that song again without imagining you bonking along to it.....poor you.

apple your daughter will get her bro or sis this year....you have to keep the faith hun.

i feel pants but happy. I had two black bags of maternity clothes that i had aquired from friends, ebay and sales since the first preg last year and despite efforts to give them away after the devastating losses of last year (when just to look at them made me weep) i didn't.....it would seem that DH has inadvertently thrown them away!!!

this is so typically him....never bothers to check things just sees a black bag (which he put them into incidently!) and throws it out....i am soooo ANGRY as my trousers are not getting tight by the end of the day and i had five pairs of really nice blooming marvellous jeans and trousers in those bags....

if he thinks he is getting intimate with ME this weekend he can THINK AGAIN....

Scrumdiddlyumptious · 22/01/2010 03:12

Hi Girls...hmmm to correct lovely misapprehension have not quit drinking for the last year. Instead when I know I could possibly conceive to when I get AF I tend to be sensibleish and make sure don't have any properly boozy dinners/lunches (although with a 2 year old those days are more or less long gone anyway). This weekend is likely to be long boozy lunch at riverside restaurant so am tossing up between saying sod it and just having a few glasses...will prob end up doing somewhere in between....

Also in quite farce like cirumstances husband managed to jump ship for an hour to come home to do the deed...told visiting parents that I had to help him with his slides for his presentation today. Am sure will not be successful but if we are it will have been conceived with me listening to my father sing 'have you seen the muffin man' to be son downstairs. Something I hope will NEVER be repeated. Hey ho...at least we can say we tried this month.

Have a good weekend everyone and special love to Boodle and bean. Very exciting and hope we all join you in the bean club soon. For me, even though the EP was only four months ago it seems like a lifetime ago and equally feel a lifetime away from conceiving again...but new years resolution to be positive so lots of positivity to all of us x

Appleton · 21/01/2010 12:20

boodle I go 2 weeks on Saturday - I've been going on about it for ages, but it's what is really keeping me going just now - something to look forward to! I just did the ovulation calculator on here, and discovered my first possibly fertile day is the day we travel (a 10 hour flight) - could be interesting!

I had a little lump-in-throat moment this morning. I took DD to nursery, and there was a little baby in her room. She found a rattle from the toy box and gently gave it to the baby. All the adults in the room did a big "aaawwwwwww", and I felt awful! She'd be such a great big sister, and I feel like I'm failing her by not being pregnant yet - it's so ridiculous - she's only 20 months!!

edwinak · 20/01/2010 20:09

CONGRATULATIONS boodleboot!!!
Fantastic news, enjoy your celebrations!

Thanks for the welcome Scrumdiddlyumptious. It is always hard seeing people who are due at the same time. I had a close friend due at the same time when I had my BO, it was hard but got easier the more often I saw her although the birth announcement did sting.

I'm counting down to finding out whether anything has happened this month. AF due on 28th have so far resisted doing any pg tests (don't have any in the house which helps!) but can't see my restraint lasting another week!

HaveToWearHeels · 20/01/2010 17:59

WooooooHOOOOOOOO boodleboot so so pleased for you. So glad Boodlebean is safe. The next scan will be fantastic

boodleboot · 20/01/2010 17:58

Thanks apple....6weeks apparently.....the woolwich QE EPU staff were really nice....really busy so didn't give me any special kidglove treatment which actually helped with my nerves....i think it will be preferable to give birth there

when do you actually go?

OP posts:
Appleton · 20/01/2010 12:58

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

How many weeks are you now? I can only imagine how relieved you are. Now you have some nice scan memories!! Yay!

Roll on 1 March (that's the day after I come back from holiday, so I'll be back to hear all about it!)

can't explain how relieved we were when the little peanut winking away on the screen....apparently ov'd off my right good side. SOOOOO RELIEEEEVED.

will have 12week scan on 1st march.

boodle you know I've been thinking of you all this morning. I really, really hope everything is fine.

scrum - welcome back to the thread! Thanks - I am going to enjoy those cocktails. I'm not very good at cutting back until I actually am pregnant - my reasoning is it didn't hurt when conceiving DD! I take my hat off to you for a year and a half of not drinking! I hope you make the most of the day DH is around . Have a fabulous weekend - I had a night out on Saturday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I never thought I'd get so excited about a meal in a restaurant, but with a 20month DD mealtimes are usually spent trying to amuse her! I got to eat a whole meal without moving from my seat, and drink lots of prosecco. It was lovely!

I mentioned before that at my night out was my school friend who is due on the same date I would have been. It was actually fine seeing her - she doesn't have much of a bump yet. It's her first, so she was asking lots of questions (I was the only Mum in the group). It kind of made it easier as I could talk about my preg with DD and it kind of took my mind off the whole "I should be pregnant too" thing. I did have a few private wobbly moments, but overall was surprised how OK I was.

My internet cheapies arrived yesterday, so of course I did a pregnancy test straight away! Still over a week til AF is due, so don't really know why I did it! I think it's an illness!

Scrumdiddlyumptious · 20/01/2010 02:35

Hi Everyone

Sorry have been absent for a few weeks but on the back of my overseas visitor now have parents for 6 weeks so making the most of babysitting and trying not to be antisocial sitting on computer! Been wondering how everyone is going though:-

Boodle: WOOHOOOOOOO that all continues to be well and hope scan went fabulously

Appleton: Have a fabulous holiday and relax and enjoy a few cocktails!

Edwina: Sorry you have to join us but welcome and fingers crossed for you

Everyone else: Good luck this month!

Being hugely busy with guests has stopped me being quite so obsessive but am not feeling too chirpy on baby front right now. Am biting bullet and seeing a good friend who is due the same day as I would have been (she has been back in the UK for 2 months and saw her briefly at a childrens party the day she got back looking HUGE for four and a half months and - secretly in toilet - had a bit of a cry as felt so awful and then felt awful that I felt unhappy for me more than happy for her if you see what I mean)..anyway she is lovely so need to get over my neurosis so will have a nice play date this afternoon and will suck it up. Sod's law peed on ovulation stick and next 2 days are a go for us but husband at work offsite on yacht (this being Australia) so at least one of those days is out which sucks and is hugely bad timing. I feel a bit like we are careering down fertility last chance slide to may when I am 40 so hoping hoping hoping...on the less whiney side we are having our first night away from our 2 year old son this weekend as we go to swanky destination restaurant for lunch on Saturday and stay over with some childless friends...am torn between being good and not drinking and thinking sod it it hasn't worked for last year and a half so enjoy it but either way should be relaxing (although I will be a bit nervous about leaving DS but tis time!). Anyway, long message but love to all xx

edwinak · 19/01/2010 21:10

Good luck boodleboot!
