hello ladies

Had a lovely time - busy busy busy 4 days in amongst sun, hail, wind, rain and rainbows (I saw a beautiful rainbow in St Ives last year and am convinced it was my baby saying goodbye and walking up it to the starts, so this felt like a sign of some sort) Lots of walking, lots of good food and an improving relationship with DP - all good and relaxing

I did write a post from my phone on Sat night, but it wouldn't work - grrr. I was overwhelmed to find the head waiter bearing a tray with a pink fizzy drink for me and a lovely note from "Emmsys" that they'd written out really nicely on a comp slip What a lovely, thoughtful thing to do - it really made my night . I will admit to having a little cry, then enjoying my fizz and soaking up the atmosphere of being in a "posh" restaurant.

We also visited Steins fish and chip shop on Sunday night, followed by Stein's cafe for breakfast on Monday and his patisserie for a pasty and a cake to eat on the train home ! I also visited a friend who lives nearby and has a litter of 7 kittens - could have spent hours playing with them.

Got back Mon night - out for a meal with DP then we took it easy yesterday - spent most of the morning in bed, but as AF had crashed the party a day early, no BD action !!

A friend who was with us had an awful cold which I have now caught, so instead of being in the gym as planned, I've been crashed on the sofa in my dressing gown, playing with my new ipod touch ! Since this is the anniversary of the day my world fell apart, I'm treating myself and have a massage booked for 3pm. Am a little worried about going along, as my temperature is skyrocketing, so I'm now wondering about piggy flu.

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes and thoughts - even though I couldn't post, I dipped in to read and check on you all - makes me feel all warm inside to know someone remembers, as I know DP won't talk about today. This time last year, I was sitting in A&E, bleeding all over the floor in the waiting room.

4Ever - I know you are in pain today but it makes me smile every day you pass a milestone. I feel like I'm almost as relieved as you every time !

Jools hope you're still nursing a hangover from a fabulous birthday celebration!

Well, done well to write that much.. Am standing at PC cos back has goven in again & have spent last 16hrs in agony!!! Started with mad rush for hospital bloods apt yest as got ltr from work occupational health team inviting to meeting to discuss absence & requesting medical notes! All procedural but cue mini panic & calls back & forth between them & GP! Gonna be Dec 1st I think, but am looking to be off work til new year ideally now... Anyway all that made me late so had to rush & have spent last few weeks at self induced snails pace which really works for me! As rushed to get to hosp felt back straing to give again, was not really better from last week but was easing, got to hosp & didnt realise would see screening midwife at ante natal who went through everything & luckily had my notes which I proudly held! DH & I quite excited as it all made it feel really real, never got to do all this ever before. With baby no 3 had massive nuchal fold spotted at weekly scans at wk 11 & sent straight up for nuchal there & then without ever having bloods done & was told lovely term 'probaly incompatable with life'. 2wks later heart had stopped .. This time round at scan on mon brilliant news that no obvious nuchal fold so am being quietly optomistic as had been a big fear (tho will still be scared shitless next tues morn no doubt!) at least we will get result there & then so thats good too... We felt like a real pregnant couple yesterday & it was the best feeling, was even brave about giving all the nuchal & booking in bloods! (gold star!) Anyway after couple of hours at hosp back was really killing, but stupidly decided to stop at local toy shop Smyths on way home & get all kids xmas prezzies (nephews, nieces, friends broods!) By the time we got home my back was in complete agonising spasm & have barely been able to move, hardly slept, cant do a thing, have just tried to sit to finish this, am wincing & close to tears . Of course this is all making me worry again about baby cos its all round my hips & tmi, but as Im so locked siezed up & stiff Ive been constipated since thurs not completely, but not able to go properly so have cramps which head tells me is due to that, but obviously have moments of panic as its very disconcerting to be in this agony & not worry a bit... Anyway, must lay flat or something, but right now nothings helping... Kicking myself (if could lift leg) that I overdid it yest, this bed rest thing was working so well!!!

Went for a lovely walk this morning to get Ajay off to sleep, which he still is , and treated myself to a naughty cake, yummy, which I have just finished scoffing, (sorry about the crumbs I will sweep them up in a mo, must keep the greenhouse clean or else I'll have blue onto me ).

I just found out a girl from my old work miscarried last week, just as I announced my pregnancy felt awful (well obviously I didn't 'announce' it to my old work, but had told a few people and the news was spread around)... sent her a little email to give my sympathies. It's so weird now being on the other side of the 'everyone's pregnant when I've just miscarried' thing

P.S. Moon Cycle day 30 and no AF? Any chance? Will keep my fingers crossed just in case and blow a lot little baby dust your way. xx

Well girls acording to my mw , I'm 12 weeks today! Scan is at 2.40pm - now, just to warn you, I probably won't be able to post untill late at night as my MIL is staying, knows nothing about babies or mc's and as DH isn't coming to the scan ( his head is also in the sand!), then at some point after he gets in from work we will need to discuss outcome etc. Bottom line is , chance of me getting on mumsnet before 10pm is minimal. And as you are all so lovely, I don't want you worrying when I'm not on - in my cases, no news is no time, not neccesrily bad news!!
Thank you for all the hands, much appreciated - I'm pretty upbeat about the scan in a completly terrified way, iyswim. Whatever will be, will be - if we are meant to have another child, then the scan will be fine and if not, well, we survive, don't we..

Re your friends sex life at 5 weeks post birth, i was very too! That was the last thing on my mind, good luck on people who feel like they want sex that soon after a baby, my sex life vanished until about 3 months after if i recall....
A midwife patient of mine was telling me when she used to practice in a rough area of the North East, and it wasnt unheard of for some partners to cut their wives/girlfriends stitches so they could have their way with them
