Hello ladies, just a quick post from me while Saara is sleeping and while I wait for Saara's new wardrobe to arrive from Next - cue DH having to build something else, hopefully in the right room this time

I hope no-one takes this the wrong way, but last year I bought some First Response Ovulation test packs which I intended to use when I came back from India in January but of course I didnt need them because they I came back pregnant. So I wondered if there was anyone on here who would like to take them off my hands. There are two packs, each pack contains 5 ovuluation tests, plus 1 pregnancy test. One pack has been opened, simply because I was nosy, but all the sticks are still in their individual wrappers. One pack is due to expire Jan 2010 and the other April 2010. If anyone is interested send me an email via Facebook or the Emmsys email if you dont have my personal email address. Just want to reiterate, I hope no-one takes offence, just wishing to maybe help one of you lovely ladies out if I can.

iggy YAY! congrats hun now take it easy and look after yourself.

mermaid Your post made me all emotional. Have been thinking of you all day. I really hope things work out for you honey.

blue and anniecam so excited for you guys, not long to go now! blue your DS sounds so sweet. Gracie also if your lurking, enjoy your first few days of maternity leave.

baking hope it goes well with the fertility consultant next week.

cupcake have fun tonight!

barbie bbq, very jealous! Enjoy!

buddha sorry to hear placenta hasnt moved. I have to say with Saara all the scan measurements were very accurate. I think she was showing as 6 pounds at 34 weeks and then 8 pounds at 38 weeks. She then turned out to be 9 pounds 1 ounce, which contributed to one of the reasons why I ended up having an emergency c-section. Which reminds me, I must write up my birth story to post on here!

neeko good to hear your scan went well. I hope the next scan goes well.

vjay and lionstar hope my nephews are doing well

My appointment with the consultant went well. They explained why I lost 3 litres of blood on the operating table and we discussed what could happen for next time round . Me and Saara both have gp appointments on Monday, where she'll get her first set of jabs, my poor baby

Love to 4ever jools moon and anyone else ive missed out - not intentional iI promise!

bluesatinsash · 13/11/2009 14:51

Oh mermaid what a lovely thing for your friend to say about your DS being everything all rolled into one little person . The image of you and your DH welling up just made me so thoughful for you both... I echo 4ever's words but also understand the energy required to steel yourself up for further investigations and all that entails... Just hope the law of sod applies that you give eveything away then need it again a la LBM. Get the waterproofs out for that walk of yours

Iggy - delighted for you and congratulations . Go and treat yourself to a Digital one as there is no line ambiguity just a big fat 'pregnant' and you can repeat in a couple of weeks when it will move from 1-2 weeks to 3-4....

Jools - you visit to the cathedral sounded very soothing, really hope it closed a chapter in your heart and you end the year on a calm serene note, you so deserve it x

Buddha - you're so very nearly there I have ants in my pants on your behalf . Hope next week at work flies in and you can kick back and enjoy some 'buddha' time before lo arrives.

Neeko - DS loves to talk about baby and asks me how baby is doing every day . He has had baby in his tummy too and we compare bumps and listen to each others tummy's. Saying that he is getting a bit bored as we had to prep him a couple of weeks ago that baby may be here and he's now getting a bit bored waiting. REally making a big fuss of him just now and he's just so loving and happy and well a wee smasher really. Remind me of this when he's whining and asking why baby won't stop crying next month

cupcake - yes in my parents wisdom they pronounced it nine like the number rather than neen. Cue much rolling of eyes and mutterings of 'pretentious cow' when I'm brave enought to correct people - its not my fault I wasn't in on the decision and so wish they'd gone for my Dad's choice of calling me Jennifer! That's why I deliberate long and hard about baby names as know the sheer bloody annoyance of having a name mispronounced etc. etc. anyway I digress - enjoy 'Muse' tonight you trendy rocker you

Had my weekly scan at lunchtime (my 14th scan of this pregnancy ) and baby blue staying in for at least another week AND now weighing just under 6lb. Another week under our belts and another week closer to meeting him/her. Still worried about manifestations if heart still irregular after birth but we'll cross that birdge etc. and one thing I've learned from this all is just to take one day/week/month at a time .

Also finished my 'maternity tunes' playlist on my i-pod and have had great fun downloading lots of 'guilty pleasure' type songs to listen to either in labour or post-c-section to remind me of this time. I of course have 'When a Child is Born' by Johnny Mathis and 'Isn't she Lovely' by Stevie W along with some great 80's cheese - 'We Built this City' by Starship pour example

Can you tell I'm home alone? . Better get on and clean the bathrooms I s'pose...

mermaidspurse · 13/11/2009 12:14

BBQ ha ha ha! i just walked from the car to the house and look like I have been through niagra falls.
Am doing a moonlight charity walk tomorrow night and it is oing to be gale force winds

iggy a friend said to me recently that ds had all the qualities you could hope for all rolled into one little package as though mother nature knew he was going to be just the one.
Do you want a windbreak too to go with the shells, candyfloss, slush puppy?

4ever yeah I know and you are not stepping on my bunions I just don't think I have the energy for it iykwim.

jools love you heaps and have a good weekend - hope the cold is lifting, more chocolate and wine will help. I think we need to take a deep breath, see this bloody year out with a big broom and start a lovely new sparkly one and see what happens.

iggypiggy · 13/11/2009 12:12

cupcake you know you said you thought my EDD was 12th Nov and I said it was either 10th or 12th depending which due date calculator I used... I fink is well spooky that I got BFP on 12th Nov... xx

cupcakefairy · 13/11/2009 12:10

IGGGYYYYYYYYY!!!! I can't believe it! I'm so so so happy for you! See, edd passes, and hey presto, up the duff same as 4ever. (Take note, Jools ) Honestly SO happy for you hun.
Moon you next please as Iggy is going to need a pal on that bench!

So so sorry I c't post more properly than this but dh and I are off to London soon (seeing Muse tonight, yay!) so I will attempt v quick catch-ups-

Neeko yay for baby! And we will be looking for houses after Christmas

Buddha WOW can't believe you will hold your lo in 4 weeks! How exciting is that!!

mermaid massive hug and pink cocktail for you.. and a secret hope that the more stuff you get rid of the more likely sod's law comes into play!

4ever lovely wobbly weeble.. keep your chin up. So glad you're signed off til Jan that's great news. My Mum says I absolutely must not get the jab until at least 16 weeks after the developing part is mostly over.. but also said she wouldn't have it at all, but then she was born in the thalidomide years so who knows if it's being over-cautious. I just don't know.

Blue is it really 'nine' not 'neen'? I'm sorry to say I would have pronounced it 'neen' had I met you...I'm glad we cleared that up before a potential Emmsys meet ;)

Right, gotta dash and get washing out..

barbie1 · 13/11/2009 11:44

love b xxx

iggypiggy · 13/11/2009 11:21

mermaid thanks for the shells - it will improve the view

I think giving stuff away must be so hard I often ponder as to whether it is harder to TTC and have months of knockbacks if you already have dc rather than none and I kind of think in some ways both are terrible - but I feel it must be harder when you already have kids, cos you know what you are missing. Although - then again, it is rubbish either way...

You are such a brave lady - and you offer all of us so much support that i have been willing you to get pg so much. xx

4ever thank you! Still expecting it all to go wrong at any point... but that's how it is I guess xx

4everhopeful · 13/11/2009 10:34

Oh mermaid lovely lady you been in my thoughts alot, had another sixth sense u have been a wobbling weeble.. That is so about the cot moment with u & your lovely dh & just breaks my heart cos i want this for you more than anything.. Hope you dont mind but iv been upset its not happened yet & was maybe wondering if you could get your luteal phase checked again? 24days is a very short cycle How about takin up the st marys offer? Im sorry to throw these things in the mix when you are talking of acceptance & closure, but the reaction you both had maybe means you could try another shot as daunting & painful a long road it may seem if it gave you both your much desired baby it would be so worth it.. Forgive me for stepping on your toes but i had to say it cos i really care for you & youve been an amazing support to me.. Love you hon xxx

4everhopeful · 13/11/2009 10:16

iggy take your head out the sand & have a very loud grin grin grin you are DEFINATELY pregnant sweetie!!! You have been using the evil opks too long, preg tests arent meant to go darker than the control line! Quite simply 2 lines is all u need to make a very happy iggy! Im so so so pleased for you!!! I just had this feeling it was gonna happen! See, as soon as you remove the pressure of countin days, timeframes & active bd - hey presto! all the annoying people that say relax are right! Im so thrilled hon!

mermaidspurse · 13/11/2009 10:16

iggy sunny girl that is so ace I will send you some shells to decorate the sand.

jools I am glad you felt that you found the right place to be yesterday in the cathedral. It is such a very personal thing the process of grief and having hopes snatched away at every turn and I have so longed for you to be whole again.

We have decided to start giving away things. The cot bed is going to my bf who is due in a few weeks.
I feel like its a bit of a final admitance that it just won't ever happen and its yet another line that I keep drawing in the sand.
When I bought the subject of cot bed up me and dh just looked at each other and welled up. Why can't babies be as straight forward a subject as tax returns eh?
and yes of course I am bloody hopping that if I gve it away I will be up the duff, completely mad scizo

opps that turned into a bit of a me rant

4ever have you tackled the bag of apricots yet? did the dr reccomend anything for your locked up back and please take everything at a horizontal pace.

barbie Hope that everyhing is ok with you and you have giggled with your mum etc. They always know best about child care of course and you will both have to adopt cat bum mouths and bite tongues sometimes

iggypiggy · 13/11/2009 09:21

Still a line this morning - fairly faint but definite and comes up fast, but is one of those cheap tests and i seem to remember that they never go darker than the control line

I having a quite and then putting my head in the sand.

Joolsiam · 12/11/2009 21:57

Iggy - if you're getting a line in early evening, it will be a big fat line in the morning

Have a bucket of sand for your head, although you may have to share with Moon (crosses fingers)

Lovely to hear about your scan Neeko

Yesterday was sort of OK - I was dreading it, but now it has passed, life seems calmer and clearer as if a hurdle has been overcome and I can start looking forward. I was reluctant to go into the cathedral but promised myself I would - just sat in a corner of the chapel in front of the candle I lit and started quietly sobbing - the chaplain was very sweet - he came over to check I was OK and I managed to explain briefly why I was there - he took me to a corner of another chapel that had one big candle alight, with messages from mothers all around, a baby doll in a crib and a poster from the miscarriage association on the wall. It was all a bit makeshift, but was enough to make me feel I was in the right place, and that this sort of loss is acknowledged - that in itself means a huge amount.

I then went and had my massage, followed by too much wine, pizza and M&S chocolate cupcakes - a completely indulgent day but just what I needed.

Strangely, I'm not dreading my next EDD next month - can't even remember the exact date - because I dont think I ever believed that pregnancy was real.

AF timing not great (flooding and cramps on the train home on my bday) but it didn't bother me too much - just a wistful nod in the direction of one daydream I had that I would get a BFP for my birthday ....

So, very much onwards and upwards. Lots of issues seem to be resolving themselves, so I'm hopeful that the end of this year is a new beginning. CD4 here - no plans or expectations for this cycle and quite happy to stay like that for a while.

mermaidspurse · 12/11/2009 21:37

buddha sorry x posted lovely - 4 weeks I am sorryv that it hasn't moved but at least you are all prepared and it helps I reckon to know all the in and out - mostly outs from now on though and then lovely peachy bundle and no more horrible pain and crutches.x

started this ages ago and got side trackedby my neighbour and a bottle so I expect I have x posted with everyone else by now.
and just realised that 4ever meant her dr was 15 weeks and not her doh!

iggypiggy · 12/11/2009 21:08

You lot are lovely

still not totally sure I believe it, def testing again in morning..

mermaid fanks for the cheerleading xx

Neeko · 12/11/2009 21:06

Buddha Sorry that the placenta hasn't moved. I was thinking about you when I asked about mine today. At least if this LO is going to be a big baby you're not going to have to push it out and the baby will be in a lovely red outfit for Christmas!!

Mermaid had a good giggle at you in cheerleader mode. Please let the perma tan be streaky!

I'm off to watch octomum or whatever it's called

mermaidspurse · 12/11/2009 20:40

iggy iggy iggy go go go picture me with pom poms and swishy short skirt and perma tan doing that for ya!
hold on tightly, it will all be fine xxxxx

moon everything crossed for you toox

neeko so, so pleased for you all and lovely that you have told dd - it will sink in in the next few days.x

4ever that is brilliant you don't have to worry about work till next year, rest lots. 15 weeks that is alot pregnant

blue see you are just so sensible, get a decorator in why do I never think of doing that? It sounds as though you have nearly got the scene all set for the entrance of babyblue which hopefully will not be for ages now that you are ready.

god ig I am so pleased for you and annie is right a line is a linexx

BuddhaBellyBigPants · 12/11/2009 20:39

Oh Iggy I'm even more excited now!!! will have to sneak on at work tomorrow to see if you've tested again!!
Moon So hope it is your month too x
Neeko Fantastic scan news, glad you got to see your friends too, makes it a bit easier everytime you see them. Must be so hard for them
4ever Brilliant news being signed off, don't worry about the baby when you are in so much pain, they are fine, all cushioned up and floating about enjoying life while you suffer!! Mine seems to take great pleasure in bouncing on my bladder so that I have to crawl up the stairs regularly
Blue Have you got another scan tomorrow?
Annie So not long for you now

Well scan today showed placenta hasn't moved at all, so I have another scan in 2 weeks when I'll be 37+3 just as protocol as they don't think it will move, they have provisionally booked me in for a c/section 9th Dec, they wanted 1st Dec but it was full already When I see the consultant at next scan they think he will push for it to be the week after as the 9th is too close to my due date! So it looks as if we will meet buddhababy within 4 weeks at the lastest Also had growth scan, the head and thigh measured spot on for dates but the buddha belly measured 38 weeks They think it's around 6lb at the moment

Neeko · 12/11/2009 20:18

4ever great that you're signed off. How funny to be pg at the same time as your doc! I think I'm going to have the swine flu jab due to my work and DD. Not happy about it but I'm sure that an infection wouldn't help wriggler's kidney either.

Neeko · 12/11/2009 20:15

Evening ladies and thanks for your lovely messages, but on to the importanat stuff....

Iggy So excited for you - eek! Guess you'd better not make big NYE plans after all...

moon Looking VERY promising for you too. Holding breath and crossing fingers for you, but Saturday you must have nerves of steel or LBM's bucket and spade.I'm here for both of you and all your wobbles

4ever Thanks for the lovely text this morning and for throwing my own advice back at me! Hope the doc was able to help you out a little. Your babybean'll be thriving just fine whether you're horizontal, vertical or on all fours!

Barbie Fights with mums are horrid. Hope you're not feeling too sad. when this baby is born you'll be too busy to miss them all as much, plus they'll be constantly over to visit. Chin up.

Buddha how did the scan go? Are you any closer to knowing when you'll meet Buddhababy? Cupcake Thanks for your lovely texts too. Have you started thinking about moving now you know you'll be in Cardiff? Bet you've mentally planned a few pram pushing routes for later!

Blue Hope maternity leave is going well. when's your next scan? Does your DS talk about the baby much?

Jools Glad you had a good time away and it helped. How did you get on yesterday? Hope AF is being relatively kind.

MermaidBig boooooo! to AF. Doesn't she know how much more difficult it'll be to fall pg accidentally when you're wearing long johns?!!! Hope you're doing ok, lovely lady.

Annie The baby will engage when it's cooked and ready. I'm sure it won't be long now. Are you having any bouts of nesting. I became a super cleaning machine last time, think my DH is secretly hoping I'll do it again.

Well today's scan was amazing. the sonographer was very thorough and explained everything she was doing. We saw the baby's lip, up his/her nose and the 4 chambers of the heart plus all the usual areas. She told us the baby's measurements were perfect/beautiful etc but kept going back to the left kidney. Apparently the baby has slight renal pelvis dilation and they'll scan me again at 32 weeks to see if anything has changed. I'm going to try not to dwell on it as the baby is otherwise perfect and this is a minor thing.

We bumped into our friends who lost their daughter and have their prem son in special care on the way in. It was a relief to see them but both my friend and I shed a tear. They're being so brave and it must be so difficult but baby is doing really well all things considered.

Told DD she was going to be a big sister when we got home. She was excited for about 3 secs and then indifferent I'm sue that will change when the baby is teething on her toys!

Sorry for the long me post and big waves to all I've missed.

4everhopeful · 12/11/2009 20:06

OMG! iggy iggy iggy a line is a line & i kno we been naughty goin on about it but iv had a feeling about u! What did i say in that tx?! Mysticbarbie said so too! Ooh how exciting! Update first thing please lady! Im also chucking a ton of babydust at you too moon does seem to go in a run on here! im a real believer in the magpies, saw 4 (for a boy) when got this bfp! Big wave to the lovely Annie hope ur tryin to keep ur feet up as much as poss! Just back from docs who told me is 15wk preg! She felt funny to tell me bless her! She said not sure about swine flu jab & wouldnt recommend for me, portland cons also against but nhs cons is for it, my gut says no tho.. Im signed off til jan! Yay! back spasm finally easing, so just on go slow now.. Bil gf scan good & odds of 1000s! Please please god let all the good stuff continue for me too into next week! Wobbling a bit...

bluesatinsash · 12/11/2009 19:44

eeeeek Iggy and Moon - I daren't breath

Neeko - fantastic news , thanks for txting me as I was out all afternoon and unable to check on here

Annie they do say 2nd babies engage later but still great news your DS2 head is down . Have you finalised names yet?

Yay! Buddha only 6 days to go. Being away from your desk will ease your SPD as mine was much worse on my work days as I seized up sitting at my desk. Just to reiterate it does vanish once baby is out!

4ever - big hugs for your pain. Baby will be oblivious to it all so don't you worry about that OK? Just try and find a position and maybe even order one of those pregnancy pillows that you can wrap around yourself?

Decorator was here today wallpapering and hall/stairs are looking gorgeous. So chuffed with it and at how scabby it looked before .

Love to all x
