Monkey last month I had a strange bleed on day 10 which was like a kind of mini period. I have no idea what my body was doing but can highly recommend temping as then you'd know if it really was af or just one of those random things our bodies decide to test us with.

monkeybumsmum · 20/12/2009 20:12

Evening everybody, hope you're all managing to keep warm!

Mermaid Good luck tomorrow, will be thinking of you and am fervently hoping that it's good news for you...

Blue Hope the snow has a chance to melt before BabyBlue appears! I remember that from when I was expecting ds - the week before he arrived we had a fair bit of snow, and I was stood there panicking about how on earth we were to get to the hospital if anything happened! Hope you have a peaceful and uneventful next couple of days

We have thick snow here too, and have just found out that my school is closed tomorrow, hooray! Goodness knows how I would've got there if it hadn't been.

Moon Until we have our own succesful pregnancies I don't think hearing about friends RL pregnancies gets any easier Just when you think you're getting stronger and can deal with it another one crops up. It's great for them but so difficult for us - am sending you a big hug x

Barbie You did make me when I read about your dress! You are so funny! Poor you suffering from migraines though, that must be horrible. Hope you're taking things easy...

MLS and Jools Hello fellow bd'ers Unfortunately, although we managed a bd (not an easy task as dh was ill) my AF has very randomly decided to turn up Am mightily confused as that means I've had a 16 day cycle Think it's to do with having had the laparoscopy and things taking a while to get back to normal. Am trying not to panic and hoping that next month is better! Good luck to you both, hope your weekends were more successful than mine

Better go - ds 'decorated' the christmas tree earlier, and between him and the cat batting most of the baubles off again there is a mess to be cleared up
Have lovely evenings all, and a big hi to those I haven't mentioned

bluesatinsash · 20/12/2009 19:45

neeko - how was the panto (he's behind you!!!). Only two days til the hols - YAY!!!!

barbie - at your wrap dress story. I've done that loads of times with my dressing gown tie - bleugh!

Jools - it was lovely to read about your DP putting up the tree. Hope you both had a fab weekendm whatever that entailed .

The snow is very heavy here, just hope we don't have a midnight flit to hospital, might have to look our the tennis rackets for the bottom of our shoes!

Better go, this laptop is murder on my back.

mermaid I won't be able to check until late tomorrow, but my thoughts and everything are with you, special lady xx

we've got so much snow i love snow!

mermaid thinking of you so much, i hope tomorrow gives you the answer you so very much deserve, but whatever the outcome my hands are ready for squeezing when you need them

i watched love actually last night too, and i have to admit that when you all planned to watch it a couple of weeks ago, i never really rated it after i first saw it and wondered what all the fuss was about. however, i have obviously grown up alot since then, and i loved it, it was very moving and tear jerking

jools i agree with everyone else that its really lovely to see you so happy, long may it continue

lbm welocme to big pants

mls i really feel for you, but dont give up ok, what's a month in the grand scheme of things (i know i know, i cant convince myself either) just try to enjoy your dd and christmas and focus on a brand shiny new year

barbie as ever, i love your story

4ever looking good for you isn't it, i'm so happy for you and your lovely dp

had a quiet weekend here, been wrapping pressies for most of it, who bought all those. found out a good friend from uni is also expecting, she told me in a christmas card and i cried i thought i was ok now arrggghhhh

4everhopeful · 20/12/2009 14:10

Very quick one from me, so want to post to everyone & also say thanks for advice re protein, bp v low so hopefully ok.. Just feel v yuk & wobbly that i have a stinky cold comin (prayin not swine flu) prob from nieces & nephews that sil kindly brought round with terrible hacking coughs but denied had colds cant believe she would risk it knowing what we have gone thru to get here, am really worrying about being ill & also so p'd off cos dH now off work, everything done & this meant to be our time together.. Have detailed anatomy fetal meds scan on tues so hopin a bit better & dont pass onto dH, im so p'd off.. Sorry again for lack of individuals, but glad Mermaid u found therapy in film yest! Switched jack frost off cos knew it would wreck me! Cant imagine how u must be feeling about tomorrow, but ill be prayin hard & holding ur hand tightly.. Big hugs to you, & to everyone else, hope ur havin happy pre christmas sundays... sorry to sound grumpy x x x x x

mermaidspurse · 20/12/2009 10:54

we watched love actually last night It was such a good medicine I loved it. It is rare to get dh to watch a film and it did us so much good.
Mind you I also watched Jack frost yesterday and cried most of the way through it. I am a mess of hormones and have been pampered to excess.
bf had a dd yesterday too and I am so excited that I can go and buy some masses of girl things.

mls this is a truly shit place to be and I ache for you over this. The problem is they go and dig their heels in when they sense they are being used as 'donors'
I think certainly with my dh he was truly scared of the pain and heartahce of seeing me going through endless sorrow.

I am dreading tomorrow absolutely dreading it. I feel pregnant again and dare not even start hoping and believing and then in equal measures feel dreadful for not believing and having faith in this poor little bean.

barbie so pleased they are keeping an eye on you and glad the head is better.
I cannot express to you the euphoria I felt after having ds. I had no time for any pain relief apart from the tens machine (get one) and my body just took over. The last push resulted in me being heard all over the maternity wing 20 minutes was a big shock mind and I wouldn't recommend it. But that feeling of having done something so amazing and looking into your dc eyes and knowing they have been here before in that split second will stay with you for the rest of your life. So as neeko says hold onto that it will get you through the labour. and it really is a very different pain to pain. I think that if we think of it as a positive and 'good' pain it is easier to deal with.
Told you I was all hormonal

blue ???? yes I agree its going to be a girl

4ever hope you are having a nice cosy weekend scan tomorrow?

love to all.xx

MummyLovesSadie · 20/12/2009 09:36

Neeko you are right as always, it does only take one bd as dd was made when we only managed the one time. Hope you have fun at the panto oh no she doesn't, oh yes I do!

Barbie I think it's better to be prepared with as much knowledge as possible about giving birth so keep watching them on telly but remember most of them are worst case scenarios. Yes it does bloody hurt but the end result is more than worth it, if it was so bad nobody would do it right?

LBM yes I'm kind of taking a month off... well until next month so does that count?!

Hope my fellow insync ladies managed some successful bd'ing this weekend, especially you Jools as I know you have similar issues as I do in the bedroom department.

Right got to go as I've two more doors to wax & then we are off to see Santa on a mini-railway at 3pm!

Neeko · 20/12/2009 08:46

Morning all.

MLS sorry to hear your DH is being uncooperative but remember you have BD at the right time and it only takes the one. Now that you've had a temp rise at least the pressure's off for this month and you can concentrate on having a happy Christmas and begging DD for a shot of her blue puter! Oh and a huge gold star for all that waxing - bet the doors look lovely.

Barbie Really did LOL at your wrap dress story! At least you know your baby is going to have plenty of memorable moments growing up. A bit of advice about watching birthing programmes. They are very good for giving you an idea what to expect, but instead of focusing on the pain (and there will be some pain, it's unavoidable and they don't call it labour for nothing - sorry) focus on the women's reactions as soon as the babies are born. They are almost always in awe of the miracle of life and it may be a cliche but having your LO placed in you arms takes the pain away.

LBM I'm in awe of how hands on you are with all your tag making and baking. When's the big announcement?

Cupcake Hope you enjoyed your TV night. I bought DH series 1 of Gavin and Stacey for his birhyday as we missed it when it was on TV. We've watched the whole thing this weekend and it really made me laugh, especially Nessa. Also evertime they say "lush" it makes me think of you! Congrats on the mat bras. I've been wearing Bravissimo's ones this time and they are a bit more supportive than the M & S ones, though no more flattering. I had to invest in a wired plunge bra for my Christmas dress as mat bras have such high rise cups.

Mermaid Only one sleep to go. Still crossing everything for you.x

It's been snowing here! (Sorry Barbie) DD and I are waiting until 9am so we can go out and play without being too worried about waking the neighbours. It'll probably all be melted by 11am. DD was very good with Santa yesterday and he has requested Jaffa cakes for Thursday night. No idea what I'll do with the rest of the box

Off to the panto today. Have a good one all x

barbie1 · 20/12/2009 04:04

Hello lovely's

Sorry i havent posted, been avoiding the net in case it bought on another migrane and the trip to hospital that i so wanted to avoid..thankfully no more vision affecting headaches over the weekend so i think they have ruled out pre eclampsia, seems like in just going to one of the women who suffers from migranes in late pregnancy... oh the joys!...Have to go back to hosp on wednesday for another urine and blood test to make double sure...

4ever while i was there i asked about your worry re protein in wee....apparently there are 3 levels of protein and its not uncommon for all pregnant women to have a trace at some point. If it is just that, a trace....then they wont do anything for you just maybe repeat the test and monitor blood pressure. If you go to level one then thats a suspected urine infection, hence antibiotics, level too suspected urine infection or pre eclampsia..level 3 hight risk pre eclampsia. Having looked at my medical notes it seems i had a trace at 16 week checkup and also a trace of blood in the urine, nothing was done or said so i didnt worry! I hope you are Calmer now...

mls i remember the trying to bd feeling all too well, there were times dh just said no, im not just here on demand as a sperm donor i found the best thing to do was not to tell him anything about my cycle and just surprise him randomly (but also on a opk positive day ) cant blieve you spent so long waxing floors

jools i was also grinning like a loon through my tears as i read your post...you sound so happy i just want to scoop you up in a massive hug and then go out on a bender with you...you sound like so much fun! Have fun this christmas and continue with the whole falling in love thing again, you deserve it!

mermaid all weekend i have been thinking about you, not too long to wait now my darling....i hope you have your ski's transport sorted out for tomorrow, looks like the weather is turning white! ...heres my warm hand to hold...

lbm [fgrin} at the thought of you being on the big panter bench...

christmascupcake are mat bra's just the most delightful looking things? My dh loves to take the piss mick out of them! Get you and your ( . ) ( . ) inflated dd's

Im sure one of you asked about buddha and mm ? Both i hope spoken to recently, Im sure they wont mind me updating....mm has booked in for her c section on the 30th of dec...a new year baby for her then {fgrin] She has been busy in rl with sorting everything in time for crimbo and the new addition...and buddha has the most gorgeous son who she is enjoying getting to know some more...im sure she will be back to post more before christmas.

A big hello to everyone i havent mentioned, now im not so scared of looking at the computer ill be back and post some more after work...only 3 days left!

Oh and to cheer up your cold sunday here is another barbie moment....

Watched that horrible Amanda holden programme about being a midwife...oh why oh why, i cried, sreamed, hid behind my hands and was nearly sick!....anyways with that in mind and the fear of pre eclampsia (yes i am a drama queen ) i was worried all weekend about my waters breaking

Went out friday night for a farewell meal with friends and on returing home i felt something wet running down my legs it carried on for a whlie but couldnt work out where it was coming from...went up and sat on the bed and there was a huge wet patch, even dh stopped joking at this stage and looked like this Took my pants off to see if they were wet but nothing....

It turns out the tie around part of my wrap dress must of dropped into the toliet went i went too pee and had been dripping on me....boak!

Needless to say bith me and the dress went straight into wash!

Oh what fun in the barbie house.....

Love B xx

littlebellsmum · 19/12/2009 21:57

I am just lurking but had to spaek to Jools and MLS - jools its so lovely to hear you happy. YOu've had such a rough time that I don't think I've ever seen you call your DP " lovely" Great to hear that you syill think he is - enjoy falling in love again!!

MLS What a horrible day and I so know about not being in the mood when you're busy and have small children. Your DH isn't helping much - I think I'd rather wax doors too! Sounds to me like you both need a break - could you not take a month off?? I know it's the last thing you want to do but it might help?

Sorry everyone - got to go. In the middle of a mad Xmas baking fest for mum and dad to take home as Xmas presents tomorrow!!

MummyLovesSadie · 19/12/2009 21:26

No not three times Neeko just the once this month. Last night dh didn't get home until after midnight & tonight we tried & after 5 mins dd called out for me so I went in to see her & then when I went back to bed I said to dh "you know what lets just go downstairs, I can't be bothered".

I'm tired of making all the mental & physical effort. I'm sick feeling like he's doing me a massive favour just by agreeing to attempt bd'ing & I hate that he lies there like a dead fish while I try & get him in the mood. I've spent 10 bloody hours waxing doors today & then I'm supposed to put all the effort in in the bedroom once again, I just can't be bothered anymore.

ChristmasCupcake · 19/12/2009 20:37

Ooh and also, I got my first maternity bras today! Went for a fitting in M&S cos mine were just getting way too uncomfortable..I'm now a size DD feels very weird and have some slightly granny-looking bras but at least they'll be comfortable!

ChristmasCupcake · 19/12/2009 20:35

Hello girls,
I'm just waiting for Strictly part 2 to start..ho hum.. dh has gone out to a party and I'm staying in for Strictly how sad is that!!
Got all the shopping finished today, hoorah. However car is making nasty noise from exhaust and Kent has thick snow, we are supposed to be going there tomorrow hope we make it!

Hair is lovely thanks all I always get her to blowdry it with a round brush all volumey like Cheryl Cole's, love it and can't achieve the look by myself!

Jools I agree with everyone else, you sound soooo much better and I got a bit emotional reading your last post too. You so deserve a properly happy Christmas

LBM yay! Welcome to big pants, I'll shove up a bit... so glad your appointment went well and you can now come out of the woodwork! My MIL said she didn't announce her 4th baby til 24 weeks cos she just couldn't be bothered

Hi Neeko sorry to hear you've been using the Kleenex again but hopefully that's all out the way for Christmas... yeah I did see Love Actually is on, brilliant My sisters and I watched The Family Stone the other day, another lovely Christmas one...though a teary one too!

Right...back to the sofa. Come on Chris and Ola!!

Neeko · 19/12/2009 15:18

Jools x post. What a happy post from you! actually made me cry! Really hope 2010 is the year where all your dreams come true, but in the meantime enjoy falling in love all over again. You deserve it.

Neeko · 19/12/2009 15:16

Hi all.

Mermaid Still thinking of you lovely. Hope you're managing to distract yourself for a second minute or two and that DS got his wish for snow. All our dusting of white has defrosted today and we're left with rain again but since we're a mile from the sea and in the West of Scotland I never expect anything else.

LBM Congratulations and welcome to Bigpantsville. This bench is the comfiest I think, but it's probably due to my extra padding. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when you tell the kids - bet it'll be an unforgettable moment.

Blue I'm anxiously waiting for my text. Babyblue has until Wednesday morning and after that he/she'll have to wait til the 26th. I'm putting my bets on a girl BTW.

Cupcakewiththefancynewhaircut Hope it's still looking swishy and not like mine the day after when I always have a temper tantrum in front of the mirror! Do you know that Love Actually is on TV this Christmas? I could have saved myself the Tenalady security alarm nightmare!

MLS I hope by now that you've had 3 successful BD sessions and are grinning from ear to ear! Have you been on www.portablenorthpole.tv for DD yet? It's fab. You get a personalised video message and my DD was amazed! You can even put adults on the naughty or nice list too.

Iggy Thanks for asking about me. I'm still wobbling a lot and have increased the share price on kleenex once again this week but I'm looking forward to the holidays and the rest. Hopefully that will sort me out. I've had a lot of nightmares recently about the MC and the ERPC in particular, but I'm sure that's just me worrying subconsciously about this one - as if I don't do enough conscious worrying!! You're doing so well and the 4th will be here before you know it.

Curly Hope you're starting to slow down now and curlygirl gives you a respite from the vomit on Christmas day.

Barbie hope the head's better.

4ever Congrats on making it to 16 weeks Hope it won't be long until you feel brave enough to move into big pants. Have to echo what the others said about only you needing the security blankets and not the baby.

Speaking of echoing, Jools I'm also pleased to hear you sounding so well. I really hope that this has been the step you need to make your world right again and your wishes come true. Hope you and Monkey have had successful missions this weekend so far.

Have to go and get ready as DH on way home early from work so we can take DD to see Santa. Think she'll either hide or explode with excitement. He's treating us to dinner after too (must be the result of unexpected BD last night )
Hope you all have a good weekend, whatever the size of your pants!

Joolsiam · 19/12/2009 15:13

Oooh LBM - lovely to see you in Big Pants It only feels like yesterday you announced that BFP though (probably feels like years for you )

Looking at that Big Pants list, it sounds like we're going to have an eventful January and February on this thread

4Ever - hope you have stopped weebling a little and are slowly starting to enjoy the pregnancy and anticipate being a mummy It must be the BEST feeling - just savour every second

Mermaid - thinking of you this weekend x x

Have a stinking cold, so no proper BD last night - tis a little early though - CD12 today and we are both off now (well I have to do one day) till after Christmas, so lots of relaxation and long lie-ins I hope

Cold improved after forcing myself to trek through the ice and snow to the gym. I then got some more pressies, posted cards and came back to find that lovely DP had put the tree up and decorated it We didn't have a tree last year as I really wanted to cancel Christmas - the 12 week MC was all too raw ..

Have just put some decs up, had my first mince pie of the season and am sitting here, finally feeling festive and with a big smile on my face. I'm suddenly so much happier and at peace with myself that I could cry

It has been a long year, but with the help of this lovely GP, who understands, doesn't patronise and is, unusually for me, easy to talk to, I'm finally coming out the other side and even falling in love with DP all over again GP thinks I'll be on my "happy pills" for a good 6 months and wants to see me every month to check on things. Maybe by then, I'll be PG

Sorry, I'm rambling but at least it is a happy ramble Happy Saturday to everyone else x x x

littlebellsmum · 18/12/2009 23:10

Sorry blue took so long posting that I missed you. Totally agree with you on the days coming up to ovulation being important as I thought we were too early on the month we conceived (DH had to go away for a few days just at the wrong time) but it worked

Keep us posted on any twinges. I am so excited at the thought of baby blue coming soon

CurlyBigPants · 18/12/2009 22:08

Hey just dropping in to make sure our lovely mermaidprobablydementedwithnotknowing is doing okay Hope you are getting lots of hugs from your lovely ds I will send some snow down from London tomorrow to make him smile. Nice work btw with biscuit face. I keep trying to find occcasions for them but have too much to comment all the time see... it doesn't make any sense xxx

moon how are you hon? Make sure you are enjoying the christmas festivities because I have a sneaky feeling that soon you will be abstaining from all sorts of things

bq how did the party go??

jools am picturing you lying in the snow making snowangels while DP looks on in despair I'm sure he is really happy to have you back though How did the appointment with the gp go? Hope you got that repeat prescription to give you time to get properly sorted

4ever please don't worry about trace of protein, it is fairly common and probably nothing. They will whisk you in like a shot if there is anything to worry about xxx

iggy brave lady holding out till January but it may be a good plan. I always get nervous (and suddenly pessimistic) in the run up to every scan so at least you can hopefully relax over xmas and not have that worry till Jan

cupcake I bet you look fab with your new haircut. Do you do the same as me though and walk out of the hairdressers, make sure you are out of sight, and then mess it all up so it feels like your hair again? I'm so glad you have some good friends in RL who you can talk to. Pregnancy especially after MC is such a rollercoaster and you need to keep talking. Big hugs honey and hope you get spoilt rotten over xmas

mm where have you got to lovely lady?

Professor mls what's the update on dh's christmas party? My friend swears by bd'ing as a hangover cure so there's always tomorrow morning

buddha meant to ask yesterday how things are going? Hope you are both doing well xxx

Big waves to all our new mums and anyone I've missed xxx

bluesatinsash · 18/12/2009 21:51

Evening

MLS PMSL at you putting up the bunting . Since watching that 'great sperm race' programme last spring I really think its the bd you do in the days leading up to ovulation that do the trick. The months I waited until I got a +ve never worked in all four pgs... Really great to see you posting again and with a successful bd under your belt

4ever agree with MLS - they found protein in my urine at 16 weeks and on Wed there. not had resuts from Wed but 16-week was fine. Its so common and only a concern if coupled with high BP, swelling and headaches. Really pleased your appointment went well and feel your concerns about your support blankets coming off but they won't be coming off all on the same day. I had a wobble when i stopped taking my asprin @ 30 weeks even though i knew deep down it wasn't what 'saved' this pg and was a placebo but taking is was reassuring and made me feel I was doing someting. hope your house was OK after the five chidren left!

Mermaid Really glad you told your Mum and major SIL (who is your minor SIL BTW?). Its too much to carry just you and your DH especially with all the close family get togethers looming. Thanks for concerns re: snow, its stopped here but icy, icy, icy. Thankfully motorway is only 10 mins from us and hospital only 20 mins other side so getting out our estate is only tricky bit!

Hey to everyone else, especially those busy bd all weekend

Our PC monitor decided to expire earlier so have pinched DH's work laptop but may not get on again this weekend as I had to go through a gazillion firewalls. will txt though if anything happens but I doubt it!

MummyLovesSadie · 18/12/2009 20:39

ChristmasCupcake thanks for the info, I don't think I'll get a chance tonight but will try tomorrow. As for using temping to not get pregnant - what a bizarre concept, who would do such a thing???

Mermaid glad you fessed up. I think these things are always best out in the open. I've told my parents about every pregnancy this year against my dh's advice & I'm glad I did. I can't imagine keeping such a major thing from them.

Right I'm off now to wax some doors. I have a life of non-stop thrills.

mermaidspurse · 18/12/2009 16:24

bakingqueen so thinking of you and hoping the new year brings some sparkly better news with it. Hope you enjoyed your work do.

moon you have crossed so many hurdles high five super brave lady

Blue now I am worried about the snow! Hope you are ok as ok can be not cleaning too much and getting a wee bit of rest before anything really exciting happens.

jools love reading your mojo post

curly its lovely to see you posting lots and thank you for all your words.

I have been sort of resting manically doing stuff before school broke up today. ds is wishing very hard for snow but instead its sunny and very very cold.

mls can't remeber if we ever presented uyou with a white coat but you really must have one now. I find it hard with one stick let alone 2. Glad its all stations go and fingers crossed.

cupcake hope you are enjoying your swishy new hair. Mine only ever swishes after its been done.

iggy thanks for being such a sweetie. You are doing a very good job of keeping calm and buried in the sand. I hope you are feeling ok.

barbie hopefully that headache is gone, bet you can't wait for work to be over. and to make you jealous it was -1.5 this morning and my primroses are looking a little confused.

4ever yes I think that probably the protein is fairly common and I don't think you should worry too much but know that of course you and anyone else would. Hope the kids coming round didn't result in too much chocolate in the carpet, at least with other peoples kids they go home!

I am kindda ok, fessed up to mother and major sil rather than keep it all in like last christmas for fear of upsetting people. I think I actually upset hem more by not telling them.

mm i have been thinking of you cos you are getting fairly high up on that list now, next after *blue if memory serves me right. So heaps of love to you and hope you are ok.

sabs annie lion vjay big cuddles to those precious bundles

and just cos I like doing it

ChristmasCupcake · 18/12/2009 15:54

Haha MLS I love that image of peeing on 2 sticks at once...you're like a proper scientist at work
Hope you get a chance tonight but yeah I still would on the day of the rise. When using temping to not get pregnant the advice is wait until the third night after the rise to be safe, because in any given month you can theoretically release 2 eggs so that means 48 hours of fertility go girl!!

Iggy thanks lovely, yes I am feeling a bit happier but think that is due to prospect of being looked after by lovely MIL and Mum for the next 2 weeks having ups and downs tbh but crying talking about it with friends has definitely helped.

4ever stop worrying yourself silly Mrs 16 weeks. I keep waking up in the night with terrible back/boob/rib pain too, you are not abnormal, promise. Don't know much about the urine thing but listen to MLS, you'll be fine Hope it went ok with all the kids brave lady!

Have a lovely weekend girls (especially small pants girls ) I'm getting a haircut in an hour- YAY! (love having my hair done )

Hey 4ever please don't worry yourself silly about protein in urine as it's so so common. I had it several times when I was pregnant with dd. It's probably just be a urinary tract infection. Depending on how much protein is in your urine could mean you have pre-eclampsia but ONLY if you have other signs including high blood pressure, bad headaches and dizzyness. I think I was given antibiotics once for it & then another time my blood pressure was a bit high so they sent me to hospital & strapped me to a machine to measure dd's movement but all was fine. Water infections are very common in pregnancy. Make sure you drink loads of cranberry juice & try not to worry.

I did a funny thing just now - I peed on two sticks at the same time! . I use a cheapie & a 1st response & I wanted to see what happened when I put them under the same wee! Well 1st response looks positive now & so does the other one. I'm hoping dh will not go to his Christmas do tonight because of the snow but if he does go I'll just have to make do with bd'ing tomorrow. I have a feeling my temp will rise tomorrow though so it might be too late. ChristmasCupcake you are the temping expert - would you normally bd on the day of your temp rise as I usually never do as I assume it's too late?
