So happy to hear of tummy rumblings and stretchy feelings, not to mention rugby players for Mermaid 4ever and Cupcake Jools lovely to hear you sounding so positive. So glad the tablets are working quickly.

MLSthesnoozyone Hope you're not too tired. At least you've already ovulted this month so don't technically need DH in bed!

Will be back later xx

mermaidspurse · 02/12/2009 12:24

mmmmm rugby players in beds it must be my hormones

mermaidspurse · 02/12/2009 12:22

jools I have just upended my filing cabinet to find all my golfing stuff. My dates are all a bit distressingly simular to last year but are bang on the dates for my ds too so it must be the time of year for mermaid to get jiggy I had an open invitiation to epu so wonder how long such an invite lasts for... so I am just waiitng for the NHS to finish having lunch.
went for my massage this morning and of course she couldn't do it doh! I couldn't actually say the pregnant word she had to guess!

I am so very glad that you feel the curtain has begun to lift for you and the side effects are not to grim. I have thispicture of you standing on a phone surfing now.

morningafternoon 4ever I like the sound of a snood, very cosy. I have some twinges (here we go) but know that is normal but every tiny thing... need I go on.
Wow at you and cupake tinking you have flutterings, lovely to hear.

mls small children are a little like a tardis in parents beds they suddenly become the size of a rugby player on steroids and hog the entire bed

umm oh and light headed as well, I think that is normal isn't it?

Joolsiam · 02/12/2009 11:58

4Ever - next time you're awake in the middle of the night, pop on here One of the side effects of my tablets is insomnia - not the tossing and turning kind, but the wide awake, gotta get out of bed and do something kind - so I was surfing on my ipod last night at 3am !

Ironically, that kind of insomnia is usually for me the first indication of pregnancy. Other side effects are mild nausea and headaches - the irony is not lost on me !! Feeling so much better already - like a curtain has been lifted on the world and I can start seeing and feeling clearly again.

Mermaid - I hope me talking about my symptoms at least showed you that things can go beyond normal sadness and grief and there are times when you have to seek help because you are ill, ie something can be done to help us feel better. If I do conceive in the near future, I won't come off the tablets - they are considered safe in first few weeks and I'm hoping they would help greatly with early pg anxiety

Have you taken your head out of the sand long enough to phone that golfer yet ?

and yes, I am still smiling for you

4everhopeful · 02/12/2009 11:45

My tummy is definitely starting to pop out now too and I am sleeping in fits and starts cos of tummy pains so I'm sure it's all normal

MLS I'm a Celeb made me cry loads last night with the letters from their families! always gets me!

Hi iggy nice to see you popping head out of sand for a few mins

Neeko impressed at your domestic goddess-ness... I've never made a Christmas cake either. I remember Nigella making a sickly chocolatey one on her show last year with edible glitter on top

4everhopeful · 02/12/2009 10:40

Oh mls im soooo tired! I got back for a bit, ill embrace the sleeplessness of new parenthood if i have a gorgeous baby in front of me to make it all worthwhile! Bless ur dd, hopefully u can get a snooze in if she has a nap! ....Iggy how long til ur scan? ........Mermaid im still grinning, albeit slightly delirilously!

iggypiggy · 02/12/2009 09:20

O.M.G

I can't believe I disappear for a few days and come back to this news from mermaid

I am so so so happy for you!!!

Please do join me here in the sand - it's really quite nice...

Sorry all, first day back in office after various things, so got lots to do - will catch up properly later - just had to respond to mermaid and her news!

No news from me - muchly feeling sick - but obviously quite happy about that...

MummyLovesSadie · 02/12/2009 07:52

4ever you know this is all natures way of giving your body practice for what is to come. My dd decided to wake up at half past midnight, had an absolute FIT when I tried to get her back to sleep in her own cot, ended up in our bed, dh stormed into the spare room after two hours of her messing about & finally an hour later (after I'd burst into tears ) she went back to sleep at half past bloody three! Then at half past six dh came back in to get ready for work - welcome to the world of parenting !

(Despite all of that I wouldn't change her for the world!)

4everhopeful · 02/12/2009 06:13

I went to sleep after 11pm & woke up again at 2.30am on the dot, now third night in a row Dh went to work at 4.30am & cant believe still awake! Been googling & apparently insomnia a common 2nd trimester symptom.. Anyone else had it? Also debating if can feel baby flutters or if wind?! Could be both but more googling does show can be common as this is 5th preg!? All this interpersed with grins for mermaid still! Right am gonna call dh, charge phone & switch on gmtv in hope of gettin another 4 or more hours of sleep! Sigh! Thank god not working as would have to get up now!

MummyLovesSadie · 01/12/2009 23:01

Yeah that will go on for the next 6 months & then after that you'll be woken 3 times a night by a hungry baby wanting a feed!

4everhopeful · 01/12/2009 22:56

Night night mls i did last post about 10.15 & my silly phone took 30mins to load it time to sleep too methinks im turnin into an insomniac & woke from 3 to 7am last 2 nights, not good!

4everhopeful · 01/12/2009 22:45

Good stuff mls! Had to forsake im a celeb for footy but caught the eviction! Im also ignorin my pile of pressies to wrap! Oh & yep quite a bump but never really lost it from oth pregs, put on a stone & a half since so not sure how much is valid baby bump! .....Neeko baking xmas cakes at 10pm?! good god woman ur nesting is in overdrive!

MummyLovesSadie · 01/12/2009 22:38

Right I'm off to bed now.... well I am in bed already with my laptop propped up on my knees ! No wonder my dh thinks I spend too much time online!

MummyLovesSadie · 01/12/2009 22:34

Neeko will you be doing a snowy scene on top of your cake or are you going to cheat & use a sheet of icing??

Also forgot to say earlier, Sabs my dd is 2 & I still check on her at night to make sure she is breathing. Unfortunately that fear NEVER leaves you.

4everhopeful · 01/12/2009 22:34

Neeko · 01/12/2009 22:03

Hi all. Still grinning for mermaid who I also texted today to the lost phone! I have to admit that I've told at least half a dozen people

MLS bought myself a huge cheese salad roll and a cake from the bakers and billed DH!

I'm baking my 1st ever Christmas cake so off to check it in oven.

MummyLovesSadie · 01/12/2009 21:54

Hello 4ever I can't muster up the energy to wrap prezzies so instead am lying on the sofa in jim-jams with laptop, I'm A Celebrity & and empty bowl that was full of ice-cream 5 mins ago! .

Have you started to get a bump yet? My tummy seemed to pop out when I was at your stage.

4everhopeful · 01/12/2009 21:49

Hello MLS big wave to u! We seem to be x posting but not saying hi to each other...!?!

MummyLovesSadie · 01/12/2009 21:28

Forgot to add, Curly ff takes into account your temp, your cm & your opk's. My opk's went a bit funny this month, I think I might have had a + before I thought I did if that makes sense. Therefore I think I ov'd before ff thinks I did. Anyhoo my temp is up now so no chance of a quickie from you or anyone else !

Gracie so glad you are back, I can't believe how far along you are, it's gone so quick. Any chance of a bump photo on your profile?

4everhopeful · 01/12/2009 21:24

littlebellsmum · 01/12/2009 21:08

Sorry - have missed Buddha the last few days - sending much love in your direction. AS the others have said, baby Ewan is such a special boy and you just don't deserve this. Take care of your selves and eat lots of chocolate - actually, do make sure you eat. Hope you have recovered yourself from the birth and your horrible spd

MummyLovesSadie · 01/12/2009 21:02

Well what a fab day on the thread . Mermaid I hope now you realise how much you mean to us all & how happy every single one of us is for you. I can honestly say that your news didn't even make me feel the tiniest bit , just very happy & smiley. You so deserve it. Ok so what I'd like to know is did you have any symptoms, did you suspect you were up t'duff???

Welcome back monkey, there will always be a place for you here. Do you still live in Belgium? It's been a very happy day for you to come back & how fortunate that there is now space next to Jools, Moon and I on the small panters bench. Talking of Moon of course you can remain anonymous..... unless of course you are actually someone famous which is why you are being secretive & if that is the case we want to know who you are now !

Sabs I'm loving the pics of Saara & how touching that she is wearing Hopings hat. Hopefully she is still having the odd lurk & will see your pics. Did you manage to give away your hpt's & opk's btw?

Barbie I know you've not checked the thread today but please don't go into labour when you read Mermaid's news!

Blue I'm feeling much more my usual self thanks. Not long at all for you now, eek! Do you feel ready? I remember a few days before dd was due thinking "Help I'm suddenly not ready", even though I'd done all of the organising I could have possibly done. Are you having another scan?

Buddha sending you & Ewan positive vibes. You have been through so much, it is only fair that you come home soon & when you do he's a good boy for his Mummy.

Neeko sorry I made you cry (for the second time ) this morning with the news about Mermaid. How were your rolls?

Hello Annie come back soon & tell us all about little Ellis.

Waves to everyone I've missed, off to wrap some prezzies now.

P.S. Mermaid if you don't already, you are going to have to start watching 'Enders as Roxy Mitchell has just found out she is pregnant so can be your on-screen due-date buddy!

littlebellsmum · 01/12/2009 20:55

OMG, OMG. OMG - mermaid this is the most fantastic news!!!! ,

Now get snuggly in the sand and breathe - obviusly not with your face in the sand as you'll suffocate but you know what I mean!!

You are so not to old - as I keep saying both my grandmas had babies in their 40's ( one had twins at 44) and that was sixty odd years ago!

BTW - did you give the cotbed away?

Got to go - so excited that I've burnt my te!!

cupcakefairy · 01/12/2009 20:46

mermaid I just can't believe it I'm soooooo so chuffed for you, can't stop smiling see we all said getting rid of that baby stuff would do the trick! Plus, Iggy needed a pal on the medium pants bench for when we all desert her..it's fate
Btw I texted iggy last night and she's fine just v busy

You girls have all been making me laugh so much what with Curly propositioning MLS and Vjay's typo

Sabs your girl is gorgeous and that hat is so fab...I miss hoping.

Congrats on all the milestones being reached girls and hi monkey I don't believe we've met either had a sneaky look at your pics though - at your ds but even bigger at your kitten!! So cute!!

I am so excited about Love Actually night tomorrow...I listened to the soundtrack on my ipod today and got in the mood So if you really-love-Christmas, come on and let it snoooow
