4ever good luck for today. xx

mermaid hope the scallops were good
I follow the FSA guidelines here as they seem sensible and also eat red lion stamped eggs (they are the ones that come from hens vaccinated against salmonella). Have been drinking decaff tea - thought of coffee is unappealing at the mo!

scan is not until 6pm today... v. scared... have no indication of anything wrong, but then i didn't last time...

VJay · 07/12/2009 09:49

Good morning, I'm back from my mad weekend. It went so quick, we seemed to spend most of it in the car! Both DS's were very good, and blue gave you a little wave again , also, whats the Falkirk Wheel, is it like Wigan Pier, ie; there isn't one?

moon glad you had a nice day, did think of you, and don't worry about dh, as barbie says, they are from a different planet

buddha so glad you and Ewan are home, hope the feeding is getting easier for you. I stuggled with ds1 and he ended up on the bottle after a week, but I'm still bf ds2. At the end of the day as long as they get food that's what's important there's a lot of unesscary pressure on us to bf, but both my boys have been the same weights at the same time, ds1 didn't have many colds, no asthma etc, whereas poor ds2 has bad ecxema (sp?), so I just think as long as they feed somehow that's all that matters

Right goota go, I have a mountain of washing and unpacking to do, and ds2 went to school leaving me and dh instructions to buy a tree and decorate the whole house for when he gets home later , the cheeky monkey

CurlyBigPants · 07/12/2009 08:47

4ever honey try not to worry. My already swollen boobs went totally pammy Anderson at 14 weeks when we were on hols. It's just a growth spurt I'm sure when you see that lovely bean waving at you later all worries will disappear at least for a day

4everhopeful · 07/12/2009 05:59

Hey ladies, dh left for work at 4.30 & insomnias back Glad the advice was ok mermaid am just still so excited for u, bit like a well meaning but slightly obtrusive in law or something! Sorry about the coffee, de cafs can be v good tho & as curly says i went right off it anyway! ..... Lbm i truly wish i could naively trip thru preg without consultants words & warnings ringing in my ears! A friend who has 3 kids was really shocked to find out theres only 1day a month u can conceive! Oh to be so carefree! ...... iggy big hugs &deep breaths for today..... curly thanks for the hand & glad u like the mammoth posts! Im with u on x factor & the lack of social life! Tho dh & i did have a nice day on sat, finished our pres buying then went for a chinese, not been there since we conceived on my dads birthday! ....... Half my insomnia is caused by anxiety that breasts have swollen even more & feel all firm like they did when i horrendously started leaking milk after 3rd mc, about a week later at what would of been 14wks, it was just awful & distressing.. So cos so tender im now lying here with tissue over my nipples to see if anything comes out? Could be cos i had a bra on all day on sat & not used to it, but am worrying that somethings gone wrong like the 3rd time & my bodys confused like then, thinking preg over time to produce milk? I mean theres nothing coming out but feels like it did back then, or, could just be totally paranoid associating that bad experience as was also 14 wks & just usual pre scan anxiety that i have nothing else to associate it with as not been this far iyswim?! Prob gettin in a panic over nothing (hopefuly) scan not til 3pm today so a longer wait to find out

littlebellsmum · 06/12/2009 21:11

4ever your advice was fab!! I have to be honest - I kind of wish that I knew half as much as you about it but on the other hand am really glad that I don't need to iyswim and I'm not being insensitive. Hope tomorrow goes well, Mrs Second Trimester!

CurlyBigPants · 06/12/2009 21:10

Wave to lbm too. Missed you with my xposting!

CurlyBigPants · 06/12/2009 21:08

sabs were you watching the results? Bit sad for Danyl but definitely rooting for ollie next week

Hope you enjoyed the scallops mermaid. How about switching to decaf. You'll probably find very soon you can't bear the taste of coffee anyway

lol at your tantrum barbie and little old ladies helping you up the stairs. Good to hear you are making an impression on all Dubai

4ever I love your long hyper posts. After a lot of long miserable months it is great to hear you sound happy and excited about everything. Here's one hand for you and one for iggy tomorrow for your scans. Text if you get a chance but will be lurking on MN for news xxx

Well I'm over the trauma of rod stewart's nipples so am back in front of tv for the evening. I remember when I used to go out weekends

littlebellsmum · 06/12/2009 21:03

iggy thaks for the tip on shellfish, thats great news . Something yummy to eat!! Bring on the prawns!!

mermaidspurse · 06/12/2009 19:58

4ever I have got your advice written on yellow post its everywhere! I am going to have to set the alarm for a dreadful time in the morning so I can stay prone for an hour.
dh has accepted the fact that theres no nooky as such for how long
its just coffee... anything else is fine don't care about alcohol, runny cheese, sex, but my only cup in the morning... thats a hard one. Thinking of you for tomorrows scan lovely.

iggy I think your scan is tomorrow evening so I hope you can manage the day without a tummy too twisted up and have lots of work to do so that it distracts you.xx

barbie only you could drop a phone and it break in half. I now have a vision of you in a firemans hoist slung over a little old ladys shoulder

lbm in awe of your christmas bakeathon and making stuff. I have no cards written and no presents wrapped.

barbie1 · 06/12/2009 13:50

Hello...

moon I also was thinking about you all day yesterday but was too tired and too late home to post....my dh didnt remember my edd either and wondered why i was an emotional mess, doesnt mean they want to forget though. Men are just different creatures! Anyways onwards and upwards for you young lady and on the rule of averages on this thread a bfp should be yours before you know it!

lbm Pooping in front of the england team never! You should of seen them Id rather not eat anything for a month so there isnt anything to come out, if you know what i mean PS im my next life i wanna come back as the england team physico....yummy!!!

iggy hooray for sickness...im sending you lots of positive thoughts for monday, not that you need them of course

mermaid boak at the thought of anything thing fishie....sorry! glad its making you happy though!

I had another barbie moment this weekend...i left dh at the rugby to get ready for the hen party (fab night, with a ride in a stretched hummer...only in dubai ) and i walked miles back to the car only to find i had the wrong keys while dh had the other ones, doh! Went to call him to say that i was too tired to walk all the way back but as i got the phone out i dropped it and it broke clean in half! nearly crying and hyperventalating at this point (yes i am a drama queen......) i had to sweet talk secruity to let me back in and waddled up to the stands and stood at the bottom jumping and waving to get dh attention. I held up the broken phone and wrong keys to show how angry i was......anyhoo....took another 40 mins to get back to car and forgot all about it until returning to the rugby the next day and queing for fish and chips as you do when a guy asked Dh how i was, Dh looking puzzled asked why? The guy said we all saw your poor wife having a tantrum yesterday and wondered what was wrong
Of the thousands of people there they remembered me!!!

Oh and on returning from the bathroom i had a mountain of stairs to climb to get back in the stands i had to stop and catch my breathe and a little old (about 80!) stopped and asked if i needed her to help me up the stairs!!!

Opps dh has just come in ill be back to finish later xxx

mermaidspurse · 06/12/2009 10:52

iggy I love you I love you I love you! yipee scallops for tea.
will back later girls xx

iggypiggy · 06/12/2009 09:20

Morning all.

moon was thinking of you lots yesterday. Glad it was ok and the reindeer sound gorgeous. My DH forgot about the edd too, I think curly is right that men sometimes try to forget stuff like that as their way of coping. Hope you enjoyed the wine xx

mermaid expect is too late, but you can have scallops! The Fsa guidelines say you can have freshly cooked shellfish.

curly am fine with the sickness, it reassures me a tiny bit! How are you feeling?

lbm and cupcake dreading tomorrow, but thanks for thinking of me! Sand is good place to be..

Am on phone so just a quick wave to everyone else for now xxx

Sabs1981 · 05/12/2009 22:35

curly rod stroking nipples?! ew! I watched X-factor as well, and all of them were really good today, I have no idea whose going to go...

DH watching the Aamir Khan fight now...!

Have a good night

CurlyBigPants · 05/12/2009 22:11

and now he's stroking his nipples.. double ew yuck yuck yuck I'm off to bed

CurlyBigPants · 05/12/2009 22:10

Took me so long to catch up and write that post that I've just realised that I've been watching rod stewart on tv for the last hour... ew

CurlyBigPants · 05/12/2009 22:07

buddha so glad you are home now with young Ewan. Take care lovely and let us know how you are getting on

annie hope you and ellis are having a lovely time getting to know each other

mermaid just realised from your dates that you are exactly 6 months behind me - to the day lucky sign I reckon!!! Teared up at your dh's reaction and hug How are you feeling now? Here's my hand till the 14th xxx

lovely moon takeout and wine sounds like a good plan. Soon enough you won't be able to drink Try not to worry about DP's reaction, my dh wanted to go off on a lad's football weekend on our EDD. In the end he didn't (only because he had too much work to do) and just as well, because that's when we conceived our little one . I think some men can't bear to dwell on stuff, their way of handling things is to find a practical solution. Hang in there honey. This awful time will get better soon

jools I'm so happy that the tablets are kicking in, but hope you are getting some sleep. Great to hear that you and DP are doing well too, god knows this whole last year must have put so much stress on both of you. 40 is going to be a very happy age for you though, I'm sure of it Hope you are having a lovely weekend in Berlin

MLS hope you have got over me propositioning you . I never got a hugely strong line on the OPKs, they can be tricky to use I think. Is there any hope this month then that you bd'd at the right time? Hope dd is okay the poor little love

baking come back and tell us all about your hols

iggy hope the sickness is improving honey Will be thinking of you Monday xxx

blue thanks for making me feel better about the swine flu jab. I was just thinking I haven't heard anything about it in the last couple of weeks since I got the jab. Don't even know anyone who has it. Still wondering if I've done the right thing lol at your practice poo

neeko you would be proud of me today. I've wrapped all the pressies we have so far and even plan to do more shopping tomorrow Your mention of baby annabelle made me blush. I was looking for baby hangers on ebay so I could hang up the new clothes that we got in the nursery and accidentally bid on baby annabelle hangers - who knew she was a doll eh??!!! Can I have some of that cake please?

lbm potato waffles are definitely gourmet, as is anything microwavable from M&S
sabs I still think about scamper and VM and wonder whether they are doing okay Hope hoping is doing okay, I love the hat Sorry to hear that your nan isn't well. Alzheimers is so hard xxx

cupcake honey, it's probably the hormones I've had a few funny moments and I think once you get through the initial panicky stages when all focus is on not having a MC, then reality can hit home. Definitely talk to the midwife, if only for reassurance. Being pregnant is scary and wonderful all at the same time. Don't be hard on yourself, make sure DH is spoiling you ok

4ever I loved your hyper posts earlier Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight though. I was thinking of you too when DH said that I looked like a weeble in my new coat It's so lovely to see you happy btw

barbie great news that you are starting mat leave early You can really enjoy xmas now and get stuck into that nesting Interesting what midwife said about 28 - 32 weeks, I've been sick every night after a slight improvement previously, and I feel so knackered and massive. Starting to panic about level of growth as I was barely showing a month ago

mrskate diy is evil. Step away from the bathroom

graciegirl how are you feeling now that you are off? Glad you got away from work

VJ how is the lovely AJ hope ds1 hasn't caught nasty cold too

lion smiling at thought of arlo sleeping on mummy. Tis a lovely picture

monkeysbum we just got you back, make sure you keep lurking as we want to be there for your good news lol at your glitter poo Did you watch LA in the end. I need to go out and buy the dvd!! Enjoy your champagne.

Big waves to MM ginger and scorpio and anyone I have missed.

Anyone watch xfactor tonight. I reckon Danyl will go

littlebellsmum · 05/12/2009 21:08

iggy Sorry - hope Monday goes well. Now get your head back into the lovely sand!

littlebellsmum · 05/12/2009 21:07

Hello everyone - we currently have a sleepover here and I'm not sure that the 4 dc's are asleep yet!!

monkeysmum Hello! And yes, wrapping paper done today, along with biscuits and peppermint creams and some little christmas finger puppets that the DC's found. Assuming I can find my luggage labels, we will be doing gift tags - done them since DD was 3 I think ( or maybe 2?). Use potato prints, paint and then glue and glitter. Top tip is to do it in a plastic box to contain the mess!! And be very controlling/ quick!! Tomorrow are doing some jam jars to fill with the biscuits and hopefully get the kids to make their own cards. And that should be most of the Christmas stuff done - with the exception of more sweet stuff for presents!!

Barbie Believe me, by the time you are in labour, you could s* for England in front of the rugby squad and you won't care!! It is really not a dignified process!

Neeko Icing fixes all cakes! Enjoy the lie in and don't be on here tonight!

Mermaid Your gp story is hilarious!! Well done for not making him feel too stupid and that you did know what you are talking about! So pleased you have

Cupcake Your fears are perfectly normal but you'll be just fine. Many people worry about the birth - don't , there are drugs for that. However when you get home..... ah well, there's always alcohol for that ! I think it's better to be worried - if you think it's all going to be really easy, that's when you have a huge shock.

4ever 14 weeks - wow. I think you are just 10 days behind me! It's great to hear how well things are going and how confident your consultant is. I loved your long posts the other morning to mermaid - should be 4evertheexpert Good luck for Monday - not that you need it, everything is going to be fine

Blue - before too long you are going to be telling this LO to hurry up - which would be ironic after all the fun you've had!

MLS Depending on how you feel about the Tweenies, their christmas vid is good ( but then I like the Tweenies) and we have Mikeys Christmas carol which is also good - all second hand from charity shops of course!!

Finally - Moon I hope you are now sat with a large cold glass of something alcholic. Your barbie story was funny - you're probably right, your DP probably had forgotten. I'm sure that mine had. I'm not sure who was talking about magic post edd babydust but it got me too - this LO was concieved 4 days after my edd.

Buddha Welcome home - hopefully, now you can start enjoying being a mum. Blue gave some great advice about people who can help. The NCT also has breastfeeding counsellers and a helpline where you can just phone and speak to someone. There are also loads of people here who will have similar challenges and will give you lots of useful advice. I struggled to feed both my DC's and one of the best pieces of advice I got was that at the end of the day, what's important is that you have a healthy happy baby, irrespective of how you feed them. Obviously I didn't believe them at the time and still felt rubbish about it but you've been through a lot and might need to go easy on yourself.

Hi to everyone I've missed and I need to go and check on the bedroom from hell!!

mermaidspurse · 05/12/2009 18:45

Buddha so lovely to think of ewan, you and dh all snuggled up at home. I bet you can't believe you are home yet and have counted and recounted toes, fingers and wondered how just one person can change as babygro. Well done for getting through the last week you must both be utterly exhausted. Enjoy. Lots of rest and no lifting.xx

moon takeaway and wine sounds just the ticket and I always find a nicely laundered bed works miracles

neeko enjoy your night out, glad you are ok, no cooking at 8 in the morning this weekend then

cupcake at those dreams girl.
I think its thse bloody hormones again go with them cry let it out. It loads better. And it is scary facing up to being a mum or a dad. Its a bit like the start of a really scary race that takes an age to start. Don't worry it will all be ok.

dh has been given some lovely fresh scallops and I can't eat them can I?

bluesatinsash · 05/12/2009 17:48

V. quick from me as I'm off out tonight with girls which to be honest I'd rather swap for a(nother) night on the couch

Just wanted to welcome back Buddha and baby Ewan. You must be so delighted to be home Hope the midwives are helping you with the feeding? There's also La Leche League you can phone or your local Breastfeeding Councillor - you should be able to Goggle them... Hope you're getting to know every inch of his body

4ever - you are indeed our resident expert . Love reading your eureka moments and remember well when you posted about the treatement early in the year. Hope your house has got rid of the last of the kebab smell - eugh! Big shout out to your consultant too

Neeko - enjoy your DD free night and long lie - bliss.....

Cupcake - glad you're speaking to your midwife about your fears, they are perfectly natural btw...

Mermaid - sssh! re: DH's bike .

And finally big hugs to you Moon - the year is nearly out and 2010 is all fresh and ready for you to grab with both hands x

OP posts:
BlueMoon1981 · 05/12/2009 17:46

thanks to everyone for all your lovely words, it means such a lot to know you are thinking of me and im not alone.

i had a barbie moment today too mermaid! was changing the bed covers, got frustrated with them and flung them a bit too high, and swiped the light which promptly went out, along with all the rest of the lights in the house . thankfully men know how to fix these things. but then after not crying all day, i suddenly got cross with myself and came downstairs and cried on dp. i don't think he remembered what day it was til i mentioned it, and he wasn't very sympathetic, just said there's no point going over it but apart from that we've had quite a nice day, went to buy a real tree from a christmas tree farm where they had 2 reindeers and a baby reindeer, awwww. takeaway and a bottle glass of wine tonight me thinks.

welcome home buddha

Neeko · 05/12/2009 17:26

Oops sorry forgot Cupcake . well done on the shopping and hope the cards are going well.

Hi Kate Hope you're DH decorates quicker than mine

Neeko · 05/12/2009 17:24

Hi all. RL took over during the past couple of days and it's taken me ages o catch up.

Moon I'm also sending you a huge hug for today. Really hope, like many of us, you've found the actual day easier than the lead-up. Big gold start from me too for the baby stuff buying.

Buddha Welcome home! Hope you and Ewan sort everything out feeding-wise soon. Enjoy those precious first weeks.

4evermorethan14weeks Really glad your Portland Dr made your week. What a journey you've had. You sooo deserve your happy ending.

Mermaid symptoms sound good. Glad to hear your GP is willing to bow down to MN expetise! Now feet up! Loved the Barbie moment

Iggy The on/off symptoms are such a source of worry aren't they? By Monday night you should be grinning from ear to ear though.

Barbie Hope the rugby's going well and you're counting down the days til your mat leave.

MLS Really sorry to hear about your DD. Hope she's doing ok. How's the non-symptom spotting?

LBM Hope the Christmas craft day is going well.

Monkey Glad you know what you want Men find it very difficult to understand. Even at 24 weeks with regular rumbles and kicks I can't quite allow myself to believe that my bum will one day be my dream come true. That's how F*ed up we are.

Curly Hope the days fly past til your mat leave and you finally begin to feel better.

Jools hope you're having a fab weekend. I love Berlin, especially at Christmas. also hope your DP is very pleased to see you when you come home

Better go. We have a DD free night for DH's birthday (though it's not til next week) Going to our favourite restaurant and then really, really, really long lie - Yay!

MrsKate · 05/12/2009 17:20
