Hi. I am just at the begining of an egg donation cycle. I am donating to friends of very very good friends who have had several cycles and have reached this point.

I started a thread previously, but have started one with donation in the title, I think lots of people think about donating or recieving donor eggs, and so I thought this might be interesting.

This is the 2nd day of treatment.

I have 2 girls, 5yo and nearly 9 months. I have wound up the breastfeeding onver the last few weeks to allow the treatment to commence. It was hard juggling the needs of the baby against the needs of the couple - I think I hit a good half way house. 8 months exclusive bring is nothing to sniff at from bubba pov [though I think she would go and go an go], and 8 months wait was quite enough for this couple. In my opinion, they have been nothing but accomodating and thoughtfull and lovely and would have waited and waited. It must be so hard for them thuugh.

I kind of hope to relactate - that will be another thread!

So here we go, wish us luck. I'm hoping the power of mumsnet will send many positive vibes our way.

Bring on the questions btw - I'm really happy to answer and explain anything.

Oh wow flibbertywidget. Many many congratulations on your babies.

Having ovarian cancer at 28 [or any age] must have been completely terrifying. Magic magic marvellous stuff that you are having Christmas with a family of your own.

Thank you for teling me that. It's good to hear there are families out there doing their thing. Like this one will be!!

WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!

Tree -- just wanted to say I love you

I have been an egg recipient twice, anonymously. I had ovarian cancer at 28 and needed egg donation to have my dream family.

fast forward 8 yrs and I fell pg after my first donor IVF, 18months later we went for our second attempt with the same donor. I now have a 2.5yr old little girl and a 3month old little boy.

I love them and adore them to pieces, they have made my life complete and happier than I ever thought possible.

So I just wanted to say thanks for doing this, it is the greatest gift, ever.

xxxx Happy Christmas XXX

To my dearest friend Treetops
Darling girl - I am thrilled for you; cannot imagine the joy they must be feeling. That or those wee eggletts are blessed and let's hope they are embedding firmly and securely as we speak.
Wooooo and wowwwww and hurray.
The world is a good place after all.

What lovely news Tree - quite cheered me up tonight, even though it's made me a bit emotional too about the circle of life

Congratulations to your friends x

tackyChristmastreedelivery · 13/12/2009 21:23

Oh shucks

Just tried to help out a bit. I made a bit of a sacrifice of time, and DNA. Seems small if it gets them a baby. Maybe 2!!

We all have to try and spread good stuff about a bit. After the crappola year my little family have had [although we did get a new dd and I am the last one to look that gifthorse in the mouth] I figured I needed my chakra adjusting, my karma cleansing, and so on. Some good work and some good vibes. Can't hurt.

I knew it would work. I'm not even feeling all that cautious about the early pregnancy risks and worries. Unlike with my own. I just feel this is so going to work.
