Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

Jollster that is very exciting news...CONGRATULATIONS .i think we have come to the general conclusion {correct me if wrong} that we don't need to leave this thread once have BFP....so i for one don't intend too, i'd be totally lost without this thread now i think and can certainly see now that a BFP is only half way through the 'long haul'....

heres hoping 2010 see's everyone with their much deserved BFP and babes in arms....

Happy bday LEE you re "nout "but a spring chicken!!!! HaVe a good one....I m the big 40 at the end of this year!!!!! OMG.....

Cheepz · 09/01/2010 20:58

hmmm spotting has stopped .... very unusual

was expecting 31 day cycle this month so a ways to go before I get excited but did my sums and the pinky / browny discharge yesterday and this morning is 10-11 days post ovulation / naughty quickie..

...i know - its such a long shot, why do we do it to ourselves. More likely just early bleed from AF - have more PMS symtoms, cramps, twinges and a little bit grumpy!

And no PG symptoms, boobs are same size, colour and there are no veins, no nausea exhaustion or physical symptom, and I just don't feel pregnant

but still, have never had AF do anything other than start as spotting which is then full flow within 24 hours.........

who am i kidding, and probably by posting this the next time I go it will be full on spotting again. I am such an idiot for even getting my hopes up even a little [neurotichairpulling]

boodle guarentee I am out knicker checking you right no but I am thinking of you alot and although I don't pray I nipped outside and had a look at the moon and whispered for stickiness for you and meita

tfls would that you are right...

zayja I second having our grads be sticky too, definitely enriches the thread to hear about the progress everyone is making

zayja · 09/01/2010 19:31

And happy birthday LeeWT!!!
Went shopping yesterday and now fit into a sz16! (normally a 14) ARG! Of course, I DIDN'T buy them!!!

zayja · 09/01/2010 19:27

Hi Ladies,
I sure love it that our grads are as sticky as their beans I prefer that y'all stick around indefinitely.

Have to say, malotkins, that I got very obsessed after my mmc last April, and it didn't do me any good. I think stick to minimal supplements, and monitor your ewcm and bbt. Then ttc in your fertile window.

Of course no news here yet, but did have an appt. at the fertility clinic yesterday that went well. Turns out that I check out fine(blood work and HSG), dh's SA was good as well. High count, ok motility, but morphology is a bit low. He's recommending clomid and IUI next month if we want. I think if I'm not pg this month, then we'll go ahead with it next month. Will POAS wed. to check.

FX for all upcoming POAS!

thefatladyscreams · 09/01/2010 17:59

Always exciting when people are coming up to test - wishing you all patience (and BFPs of course!)

Lee - happy birthday youngster! Definitely not a time to think about dieting - enjoy

And tigerbear - your new year's resolution is definitely one to break

Welcome Malotkins - sorry you've had to join us but lovely to have you on board. You asked if it was OTT. I remember doing something very similar and coming out of the supermarket with OPKs, baby aspirin, grapefruit juice etc, etc.... It made me feel better as I felt I was actually doing something. I'm more relaxed now but hummmm I might consider getting some EPO now you've put the idea in my head . Also need to reorder some preseed now boodle has reminded me! Ran out before Christmas but held off ordering in the faint hope of a BFP.

Boodle - have said a prayer and will be thinking of you on Monday. But have a feeling that things are multiplying like mad inside you! It is really amazing when you stop to think about it like that. Did laugh at your little birds' footprints in the snow - don't read some of the threads about feeding the birds or they'll die as you'll be in floods of tears!

Bad luck tetley - hope you're not too down about it. I try to reassure myself each time that AF arrives that it wasn't meant to be that month and that my body is making me wait until a healthy egg is available. Sometimes it helps, mostly it doesn't!

Thanks for the info meita. I've decided not to get my FSH levels tested. I asked my acupuncturist if the results would make any difference to how she is treating me and they wouldn't. I can see myself getting very depressed if my levels are high (which they probably will be at my age) and would rather live in hope, however much misplaced, at this stage. What day is your midwife's appointment and how are you feeling about it?
Almost 9 weeks is great!

MrsR lovely to see you back posting. Hope you're doing OK. You are missed when you are quiet! xx

Samantha - I'd echo meita's comments. I've read that you should ignore spotting but count day 1 from the first day when bleeding starts.

Cheeps - really hoping you're wrong and that AF doesn't appear. Sometimes these things happen when we least expect them - watched pot and all that. Fingers crossed for you.

Come up girls - let us know the results where you've given in and tested!

.....oh and any random old person aswell as little birds footprints in fresh snow, make me cry like a baby now in the street apparently.....don't ask.....

boodleboot · 09/01/2010 17:31

leew hoppy berkday bootiful.

well i don't really know what to post cos i just feel well, a bit bleurgh....trying not to obsess about every little pull down below and i am such a knicker and toilet paper checker now its ridiculous....my biggest thing so far {at all 4wks 3days....} is headaches. I have got the worst head aches permamently.....not total bonecrunchers but just ones that i really would like to take a tablet for but am not....know what i mean? First time i have ever had headaches as a pg symptom. Must be all the hormones....I AM SO NOT MOANING tho as will put up with a headache like this for the rest of days if it is doing ok by this baby....

Nervous about my numbers again on monday.....its such a strange feeling willing your body to remain hospitable to this little guest that is tucked up inside... heres hoping for some doubling and doubling again going on.....

i have guestimated that new level should be around 1000-1200 hopefully by monday if this is growing in the way of a viable pregnancy.....i don't know if any of you pray but if you do please can you say a prayer for my little bean to hold on tight......

welcome malotkins

sorry you out tetley next month hun....get yourself some preseed

hello to everyone else too. xx

Cheepz · 09/01/2010 16:16

meita love you ... you're great and most of the time you are also right ... xx

leewt how remiss of me - Happy Birthday hon - hope you have fab time. xxx

tetley sorry to hear it hon - know how you feel, think i am likely to be joining you soon ...

tetleytea · 09/01/2010 16:07

AF on its way, i'm definitely spotting, dammit. So much for the post-mc fertility increase

cheepz hope you're still in with a chance...

SamB I think for stuff like FF you're supposed to count the day when you get a normal bleed as day one. Like, when you tell FF that you've had a light bleed, it automatically starts a new cycle for you with this as day one. But when you tell it that you had spotting, it doesn't - it counts that as part of the previous cycle.
If you have cheepie tests, I'd say go ahead - if you have more expensive ones, I'd wait a day between testing. In any case, good luck to you!

lee happy birthday! I hope you enjoy it lots. My 30th was nearly 4 years ago... and I spent most of it at the dentist's, as I'd broken half a tooth off. Just right to help me feel properly old .
Yeah, am a bit of a grad I suppose, but if it's ok for everyone I'd love to stick around a bit longer... there's still a long way to go.
Fingers crossed for you. Over all I suppose if you are pg, the weight issues will be sort of unimportant in comparison. But it's nice to have a sort of win-win situation - whatever happens, you can see the good side of it

cheepz I share Lee's opinion - if your cycle is anywhere near regular, do it when it matters rather than all the time. And if you have to choose, then do it earlier rather than later - a day too early is "low" chances, a day too late is "no" chances. Then use the time post-ovulation as "sex for fun" time. So you don't forget what that is.
Sorry that you feel AF approaching. I really wish it would work out for you soon... we came onto this thread at the same time I think and it's about time to hear some success I believe!
But if I were you I'd try not to worry yet. You know, if a hundred healthy couples TTC for one year, only 80 of them will have conceived. So 20 couples who have absolutely nothing wrong with them will still have not conceived after a year of trying. It's just luck sometimes. On average, we should conceive once in five cycles - but that's just the average.

jollster well you know, missing AF is still the very very best "early symptom" of pregnancy. Lots of people have lots of symptoms which mean nothing at all once AF arrives. But if AF doesn't arrive, the lack of other symptoms is very meaningless... so, Fx for you! Keep us updated!

Meita · 09/01/2010 15:26

TFLS Well I went to see the GP for something else (an ear infection IIRC) and just mentioned that my period was very very late (like, over a month late or so) and there was no way I could be pregnant and I was starting to be worried. GP set up a blood test with a nurse the next day, and when I went back to see him a couple of weeks later (again for something else - AF had arrived in the mean time and I had stopped worrying) I asked for the results and he said it was all clear, they had tested for PCOS and for early menopause and there was no indication in the blood for either of those. But unfortunately I don't know what exactly they tested/measured. So it was really no bother and straightforward and quick.

Yeah I know, it's starting to feel like it could be real. Though I'm not even 9 weeks yet. There is still some way to go!

Hi Malotkins, so sorry to hear about your MCs. It is very tough. I can very much understand that you want to do everything possible to support your chances of conceiving and of carrying a baby to term. As to your question if it's OTT, well to be honest my first reaction was "yes it is". But then I remembered myself and must say it would be a bit like the pot calling the kettle black... It's just that I don't like taking tablets, so I focus on herbal teas instead.
Still, there is the point that stress is bad for conceiving. You sound like you're working yourself up into a right state of mind, and then perhaps when it doesn't work out you feel like you "didn't do enough" - like you failed, when it is in reality just bad luck and nothing you can influence much.
So my advice would be: Learn to trust your body again and relax a bit. I know that after one or several MCs it really feels like your body is rubbish and can't even do what every other woman can... and so on. But it's not true. Most likely your body was doing exactly the right thing when you MCed. Probably these babies couldn't have survived and had to go. And that's just bad luck. But it doesn't mean your body is rubbish. So relax, do what feels right for you and try to trust your body even if it's just a tiny little bit.

SamanthaB123 · 09/01/2010 14:47

MrsR Thanks for the vote of confidence, you always make me feel better . I was wondering if it was pregnacare vitamins that are making me feel sick and causing constipation . I'm just having a down day and feeling really low and tired, just sort of fed up with everyone and everything.

I'll see how I feel for the rest of the day, if I test in the morning, I'll let you know...fx, SB

(And it's snowing AGAIN. How am I supposed to get to school in this?!)

Cheepz · 09/01/2010 14:24

still no AF but have had a little spotting, normally just comes bam but might be a slow start this month, either way have godawful PMS so if not today will be tomorrow. Have not bought tests as there is no point.

louisesh would be great if he wanted it every 2 - 3 days - its more like once a week as long as hes not too tired / stressed / out!!

leewt hear you on the window but can't help wondering what of the tests are wrong and I am not ovulating when they say I am - its been 3 months with the CBFM and we have done it on one of the peak days each month ... I guess we need to do 5 days in a row from high through peaks and see how that works. I ams tarting to wonder if there is something wrong but I honestly think we are just not doing it enough!! I have asked dh for a couple of months of doing it alot before I go and see a doctor. 9 months of trying, 1 mc after 3 months and this will be cycle 6 now with 3 on the monitor, I am thinking something should be happening ... DS happened before we even started trying the first time around

samb I would go against MrsR and say wait before testing, if its a BFN you will just then have to wait for AF, and deal with feeling disappointed

jollster if I was you I would be thinking about testing soon though

love to all

nice to see you posting mrsr meita and boodle what news ladies

MrsRigby · 09/01/2010 13:22

samanthab123 from everything you've said, I think you'll get a BFP.

Test now.

SamanthaB123 · 09/01/2010 13:10

Good luck jollster, fx for a bfp in the morning.

LeeWT - when are you going to test again? I was/am half thinking of testing tomorrow morning because DH is away all week and it would be much nicer for us to know together. Trouble is, it's quite early so won't have a conclusive answer unless it's +ve. Depending on when I class day one, it's either day 26 or 27 tomorrow. Have bought test ready in case I get snowed in next week . Besides, it'll be here ready....

I've started to prepare myself for bfn and ttc again next month, in spite of nausea, exhustion etc .

Anyone else testing? I can't see the stats from this little box? SB

MrsRigby · 09/01/2010 13:01

jollster just test now, I can't bear the waiting and it's ages before I can even think about doing it.

randomimposter · 09/01/2010 10:17

oooo I remember 30... (just). A great girly knees up in Dublin (before it became so popular ). Trend-setter me...

Still planning to test tomorrow - can't believe I could be pregnant. But in the absence of AF guess I have to test.

Hope all well and keeping warm. Brr.

Hi everyone,
Happy New Year!
Not been on here as much recently,as my new resolution is to stop being on MN so much (sadly have to try, unless I want to see my business go down the drain!
Congrats to Boodle and Meita!!!!!!

Well, I'm really hoping this month will bring good news. My period isn't due for another 9 days and I'm so impatient to find out. DH and I had sex 4 days in a row at the 'right' time, so fingers crossed! It's our wedding anniversary next week, so I'm hoping to do an early test to find out then. Will obv be if neg, but what a fab anniversary if positive!
