Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

I am on day 3 - woo hoo hate those first two days feels like a long time away from anything but by day 3 a) hormones are settling down, b) is less than a week from day 9 which is first potential bd day for me and c) everything is alot lighter so not scooting to the wc all the time to 'freshen up'.

apples must be driving you nuts - cant believe its been so long, heres me moaning about AF and you must be cursing the lack of arrival, doesn't say what cycle you are on but am assuming wtf cycle

meita must be frustrating for you too with a long cycle not to have any sign of progress. xx hang in there

mrsr hope you feeling less green today - although probably not - I am feeling green about your SIL so must be worse for you

tfls how goes it

hope barrenbrook chamo zayja and tigerbear all find us - and stressy, boodle and promenade ....

by the time dh gets back from business trip will be cd5 so that should accelerate the time this cycle too

Meita · 23/09/2009 14:26

apples I take it AF has still not arrived? Poor you. I do hope the situation resolves itself soon!
If it's any consolation, I'm on CD29 and still have only got negatives on the OPK. Oh, I know it isn't any consolation, really. But just wanted to moan a bit too

Urgggggg!!!!!!!

Meita · 23/09/2009 09:48

MrsR you can start at any time, though at first it might not make much sense. It doesn't matter if you miss out a day or two, especially at the beginning and at the end of your cycle.

It is very simple really (though when you go into details, it starts getting more complex).

Basically, you just take your temperature every morning BEFORE getting up.

You can measure orally or (for better results) vaginally. You should keep the thermometer in for full 5 minutes, not just to the peep.

Then you write down your measure and the current time.

If you write that down in an online chart, for example at www.fertilityfriend.com then the online software will do all the interpretation for you. It will tell you when it is reasonably certain that you have ovulated and when to expect AF / to do a HPT.

After a while the programme will know your cycle and will be able to make predictions and tell you when you are most fertile.

Obviously, the more information you feed it, the more it can tell you. So, observing CM in addition to charting temps is a good idea, and you can also put in OPK test results. But even if you just chart temps, it can be useful, since at least you will see if and when you ovulated and when to expect AF. (However, temps alone are NOT good for predicting ovulation. For that you will need to observe CM and/or use OPKs)

cheepz glad you found us. I hope everyone else will find us too!

Cheepz · 22/09/2009 20:25

Thank god I have found you!!!!

Thought I might have to search but with the incredibly intuituvew title it was no problem - thanks tfls mrsr thats a whole ton of crapness - SIL preggers and sex 3 days in a row

Know how you feel though as we are having lunch this weekend with SIL who is 7 months pregnant and blooming. Was kind of hoping things would work out this month so could have secret knowledge of harbouring own bean but no instead will be post AF and pre Ov and grumpy at not being able to do anything about it

I think it is fine not to be happy for her right now - you would be if you were pg or if you didn't want to be so its just circumstance and its very normal

As for sex 3 days in a row - how do you manage that - I have to make massive effot to get twice in a week - although have said I really want to get pg by Christmas to dh so can he step up to the plate a little more.

He does not see why the hurry - but for me its a combo of - age gap with ds (dont want it to be too big), age (am 37 now and would like to have second - and last child - on the go so to speak before 38 - next summer but it can take a while as we all know, work - feel like knowing i am going to be taking another period of time out means i am in kind of a lull with the job, health - for me and the baby sooner is better i think, and because i am not good at being pregnant so could really do with having that be out of the way iyswim. Mostly though would like there to be not more than 3 year age gap and already thats blown because ds will be 3 in June but 3 and a half would be ok....

Anyway once I explained some fo this to him on way back from wedding he kind of realised its not jsut me obsessing about a baby there is reason behind why i feel some time pressure and he is all laid back about everything

sorry mrs r was talking about your stuff and ended up ranting about mine guess thats why we are all here

i too did temp for 3 days then forgot - stopped so need to get on with that again maybe.

what would i do without you ladies - so glad you are here

Evening

Sister-in-law has just announced that she is 3 months pregnant .

This is the one that lives in London, loves going out to restraunts, bars and clubs, is very career minded and has just brought an Audi TT (which she now needs to sell because she can't get a car seat to fit it). She lives with her husband in a 2 bedroomed house and has said that she is not going to decorate the second room as she uses it as her office and will simply put a cot in the corner.

I should be happy for her, so why aren't I?

On top of that I'm still stressed about going back to work in November. I really don't want to. I want to stay at home and look after my son, but DH hasn't got that promotion yet.

Feeling shit.

And as soon as DH found out that his sister was expecting, he announced he wanted to have sex again tonight - that'll be 3 nights in a row.

Surely this is my month???

meita I knew there was something I meant to do . How exactely do I go about doing my temps, is it too late to start now? I've abandoned the idea of working from home and accepted that I'm going to have to go back to work.

Hi ladies!

Thanks for opening a new thread, TFLS - I hope everyone will find us!

littleOne please don't leave us for good - as TFLS said, we're always glad to hear good news!

MrsR glad you enjoyed your "long weekend". Hope you are well. Btw are you observing your temps at all? Oh and on another note, have you progressed in your search for income that can be generated from home?

tfls That's sweet of you, to have googled my hair loss :-) And I am, in fact, relieved that it could just as well be MC related (didn't know that!) rather than a symptom of possibly thyroid-related systemic hormonal imbalance. Well we'll see. My temp has surged today, not quite high enough but that could be tomorrow, who knows? OPK has yet to give me a + though. And the sad thing is, DP is leaving for Switzerland today, won't be back until Friday - I just soooo hope I won't end up ovulating on Thursday!

Any pgy-signs for you yet?

thefatladyscreams · 21/09/2009 22:10

Sorry to hear about DS MrsR. Doesn't he know you have a schedule to follow

Evening

I've found you all .

Not much to report tonight, DH had Friday and Today off so we've just been enjoying some time together. Pity he has to go back to work tomorrow .

Will be doing more TTC tonight if DS allows. He's teething badly we think, keeps waking up every 2 hours, so not getting much sleep.

How is everyone else tonight?

thefatladyscreams · 21/09/2009 16:50

OK OK I'm a very sad googler but I just had a quick search meita and found a site that said hair loss post childbirth normally happened 3 months afterwards. It said it could also happen (to a lesser extent) post m/c.

Will stop pondering meita's hair now and try to do some work.

littleonemum that's fantastic news. So pleased for you. You must be exhausted with relief now . Please don't feel that you can't post good news here - it is great to be reminded that there is light at the end of the tunnel. So please do pop in whenever you fancy.

meita - I bet you're fed up with waiting by now. AF then o/v.... I know that some women get temporary hair loss after childbirth so I wonder if it could be hormone related post m/c? I had real temp dips last month when I didn't ovulate (dropped 2.4 C instead of rising) so know how you feel. Is your sleep OK because lack of sleep can cause drops and you might still be ovulating? What is it all such hard work
