Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

x post with zayja... sorry about BFN but as you say early. Good luck

randomimposter · 13/01/2010 11:08

test test test
you are properly late
go on, you know youwe wantyou to

zayja · 13/01/2010 11:07

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I missed the party, I could've contributed some more Creme DeMenthe - around the same vintage!
Welcome hopeful, sorry to hear of your mc, this has been a great thread for support so you're in a good spot!
Well, BFN this AM but still no sign of AF! Of course it's only cd24 but I do normally have some spotting by now. So, knicker-checking mania for the next few days! Will test again Sat. since dh is out of town until then.
C'mon cheepz - go get those tests, it's sounding positive. you too sam FX!

Cheepz · 13/01/2010 11:02

I am now officially too scared to do a test, as now I am proper late, which means I am more likely preganant than not, since I am normally very regular, and even my longest cycle post mc was 30 days.

But then what if it is still a BFN ....would be mighty disappointing. I find AF starting less dissappointing than BFN's so almost want to leave it until I am so sure that AF not going to start that its a done deal

Lets face it - I am a total yellow belly

Cheepz · 13/01/2010 10:58

creeps in and whispers .... maybe i should go an buy some tests ....

LeeWT · 13/01/2010 10:16

Hi all

sorry I missed the party.. I poked my head around the door but was too exhausted to come in.. Travelled to Dublin yday morning and arrived to snow and my manna having quite downhill.. She's still a game bird .. Showed off her tattoo when I arrived (a pain patch with words on it) and then told me to fetch her happy juice (morphine) .. She's such an inspiration..

Well no more news here have had cramps yday and today so expecting af any moment.. Bit sad but then trying to be positive as I've joined the gym and I'm going to lose some goddamn weight!

Sorry for the bfps girls.. But it ain't over til af shows her ugly face..

Re due dates and friends babies I know what you mean.. My first lost little one was due on Xmas day. A close friend had a little girl yday so I am v conscious that we are supposed to be celebrating this together and I should be on maternity leave. It's so hard because these dates are ingrained forever..

But in line with samb's pep talk- we are all doing great so onwards and upwards, we will get there!

Last and not least -CHEEPZ I can't take it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

VivClicquot · 13/01/2010 09:59

Believe it or not, Tuesday is DH's birthday so it's going to be a very bittersweet day all round. I asked him last night what he would like to do - go out for dinner etc - and he's going to have a think about it. I think he's very mindful of it being a bit of a strange day for us too.

tigerbear · 13/01/2010 09:48

Boodle- surely the exhaustion must be a good sign that things are progressing ok?

Viv- I'm not surprised you feel sad right now. Is there any way you can do something nice for yourself on Tuesday - day off work / nice dinner, etc. I know it won't take your mind of it, but would be nice to pamper yourself then.

Well, stupidly did another FR first thing this morning, and BFN again (how stupid was that? Like it would have changed over night!). It's my 3rd wedding anniversary today, so while I'm happy about that, I can't believe we're 3 years down the line and don't have a baby yet.

VivClicquot · 13/01/2010 09:38

Morning lovelies

Gutted to have missed out on the party - clearly I would have brought some Veuve Clicquot for us all to share...

Day 12 here and if my cycles are 27 days (which I think they are) I would have expected a smiley face on this morning's CB digital ovulation test. But nada. Am sure it will come over the next couple of days, but has anyone used the Clearblue digital before and not got a positive for ovulation? How do they work? This is new territory for me!

And Effi - I know exactly how you feel. The first baby I lost should be due on Tuesday and to be honest, it's all I can think about at the moment.

Sorry to everyone who has had BFNs. Don't lose heart.

xxx

boodleboot · 13/01/2010 08:28

morning my lovelys.....missed the party i see.....i was lights out by 9 last night.....this tiredness is verging on exhaustion.....still feel nice and bright this morning. I swing between being positive and having this feeling of utter terror and dread wash over me....still not allowing myself to think of a baby, just thinking in numbers at the moment.....

snow is really really coming down here but as my kids school is a superhightech new whizzy school its all open.....ah well, at least i don't have to 'pretend' to sledge with them.....so dangerous.....

anyhoo will post later

xxx

Good to know that some of you think FR is crap - gives me some hope! Let's see what happens over the next few days..

tigerbear · 12/01/2010 23:50

Oh, I missed the party
I've just been on the other thread about getting a free box of Graze goodies, so I'll bring that to the next one

Cheepz · 12/01/2010 21:51

hopefully - I got a faulty one like that - didn't sleep through until about 18 months and then only 4 of 7 nights a week and still does broken night at least once a week at two and a half, and gets up improbably early most of the time unless he goes to bed at 9 - whats the deal!

One of the reasons it took us so long to try again was because I was so knackered I didn't want another one.

Creme de methe ..... shame on you

Hopefully · 12/01/2010 21:41

I have some creme de menthe from a student cocktail party circa 2002.

No one? Frankly, I'm worried about a bottle of alcohol that is so unappetising that following that cocktail party it has survived two more years of studenthood, three years of london life and the early days with a newborn. Yet I keep taking it with on my umpteen house moves...

Cheepz I also don't particularly worry that there's a proper reason for my MC - knowing that I can carry a baby to term (albeit one of those faulty, non sleeping babies ) makes me much more confident that it will happen again without major medical drama.

Cheepz · 12/01/2010 21:32

samb dont mind at all, but would still rather wait and see! BFNs really crush me and after 6 months it sometimes doesn't feel like I will be pregnant soon - although of course I might be pregnant now, but its been a long time coming if I am. As boodle said it was crushing the last time I tested, I so had hopes up, felt so pregnant and then bam, it was devastating, didn't really post much for 6 weeks and stopped trying for a month, so I think I would rather spare myself.

I am pretty sure there is no medical reason for my mc, just one of those things, so no reason to think its a recurring problem, besides, if it gets to be late and I start bleeding I can still do a test and if I was pg it would show because of the time HCG takes to disappear.

We have loads of wine, happy to share!

Think boodle has hit the hay - her FB status says she is wiped out! EArly preganacy fatigue - good symptom - good excuse for early night

SamanthaB123 · 12/01/2010 21:01

PS, What a disaster. There's no bloody wine in the house anyway. We've all given up drinking to make babies. There's some left-over sherry. Is that any good for babies do you think?! SB

SamanthaB123 · 12/01/2010 20:59

But are you smiling??! It all feels less bleak when you make yourself smile, even if you have to force yourself to! We might be pregnant now, we might not be, but we are going to be soon. And really, that's good enough. SB

PS Cheepz - you should do a test. Apart from the fact you're probably pregnant, if you have another early mc, isn't it better to know? If that is a recurrent thing for you it could be something that could be sorted out. If you hide from it you won't know. Hope you don't mind me saying.

Cheepz · 12/01/2010 20:54

one of two glasses of red wine a week even when preganat is not bad for the baby. I'm all for chips and dips.....

SamanthaB123 · 12/01/2010 20:49

Tiger - Some tests can be correct early but it depends on your cycle and when you ovulate. FR says it can predict 6 days early, but not with massive accuracy if you read the instructions. However, that will only be true if you have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 14. I ovulated on either day 16 or 17 with a 28 day cycle which means that it would be 3 or 4 days prior to AF that I could test (but with the same poor level of accuracy). On top of that, I may have had implatation pain and bleeding on dpo 10, 11 and 12. It takes some days after this for there to be enough hormone to show a positive result. For the 99% accuracy I would need to test 2 or 3 days after my period was due.

I knew all this and I still tested on day 28. How stupid am I???

I know it's a bit taboo, but what we all need on this thread is a glass of something red, French and alcoholic. Those that are pregnant will have to make do with Ribena but they can join in with the snacks. Who is bringing the crisps? I love crisps. With chocolate. Can someone bring some chocolate to eat with the crisps and wine please !

We all need to cheer up and be postive (she says, as the one who posted depressed earlier). We are all relatively healthy, many of us have fabulous children already (because they take after us) and we are all going to be brilliant parents to our new babies when we have them because they are so wanted, and loved and they will be celebrated in every way.

Is everyone smiling ? We might not be pregnant this month (apologies to those that are, but I felt a pep talk was needed), but we will be. And it will be so wonderful when we get our two pink lines...SB

boodleboot · 12/01/2010 20:33

FR are shite.....didn't give me a +ve when i clearly was......waste of money i reckon.....don't lose heart tiger.....

you are nuts cheepz but i know how awful it is when you build yourself up to be and then aren't.....the other month is still fresh in my mind you know...we both got burnt then didn't we....you test when you are ready hun.....altho you know what they say about pulling off sticking plasters.....nice and quick, not draggin it out a corner at a time.....

tigerbear · 12/01/2010 19:56

Perhaps, Cheepz, but the FR said it could detect it 6 days early. (Hoping it might be wrong!).

Cheepz · 12/01/2010 19:52

samb sorry we crossed posts or I would have comiserated, its why i cant bring myself to do it! and tiger you are both and you especially are on early testing so that might be the issue...

i am nuts

I am thinking maybe I should wait until after CD36 - that was when I had mc last time .... eegit, about to go to the loo again and check liner, paper and with a mirror to see if AF is anywhere in there (tmi i know!!)

boodle cant believe you are crying for asbo man - you are officially basket of the day

tigerbear · 12/01/2010 19:27

Hi everyone,

SamanthaB123 - I've just done the same - caved in early, and what do you know - BFN.
The stupid First Response is right in front of me - I've been willing it to magic 2 pink lines, but no, there's just the one.

Hugs to everyone else who is feeling down today.
This is soooo frustrating!
WHY, hasn't it worked, when we've had sex at the right time????? Aggghhhhh!

Cheepz can you promise yourself a test on Friday or something if no AF? By then you'll virtually a week late, so a reasonable time to test. Or just give and buy a test as soon as boots opens tomorrow, which is what I would end up doing . In a way I think denial is good, but I know I would end up convincing myself I was pregnant, so would be just as heartbroken by a BFN in a few days as tomorrow.

Sorry for those with similar due date friends/family - luckily (as far as I know) I don't know anyone with similar due date. Boodle your ex sounds like a particularly special example.

Am absolutely pooped today - I think emotional exhaustion of it all being 'over' (i.e. having confirmation from scan) and physical exhaustion of struggling through slushy melty snow for 30 mins each way for drop off and pick up from childminder and 20 mins each way to hospital. Early bed for me tonight!
