Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

Evening

Nothing to say really...

Went to a neighbours 65th birthday/retirement party before with DH and DS. 3 people wanted to hold DS and both DH and I didn't feel able to say no even though that's what we wanted, so we let people hold him.

I hate it though, I don't want people holding him, it kills me inside. Why do people want to hold babies (especially toddlers that just want to crawl and walk)? DH and I have never understood the phenomenom, neither of us have wanted to hold other peoples children.

It really bothers me.

Hi Girls - I'm sorry to crash in on you all, I thought you'd be able to answer a question I have

I was just wondering how long you all waited after a mc before TTC again?

I have had a mc this week, found out yesterday.

Very but both dh and I are wanting to start TTC again ASAP. We're both fine about the mc as we feel it's something beyond any physical persons control so emotionally we're prepared for this rollercoaster. I'm almost stopped bleeding since it started on Monday.

Please advise as I'm feeling a little by the whole thing.

Thanks In Advance
xx

LeeWT · 26/09/2009 16:20

I THOUGHT YOU GUYS DISAPPEARED!!!

So glad I found you again!

Glad to hear you are all getting on ok..

Boodle I totally sympathise.. although I never saw a heartbeat with either of my beans, I found it hard to get my head around that people didn't acknowledge their existence. I felt so sad for them and for me not getting to know them. It's a very complex situation and its great that you and dh are going to discuss in detail the right thing to do.

ALso its nice that those of us not strictly TTC at the minute can come on here. Am actually enjoying non-ttc-bd'ing!!

positive vibes to all of you!

xxx

LittleOneMum · 25/09/2009 12:46

meita - I really hope that's right. Fingers crossed.

fatlady - that's so funny! Glad all OK now.

I'm fine, thank you. Well, fine in the sense rthat I am exhausted permanently (was asleep by 9pm last night) and feel sick all the time (no actually chucking yet though) but in my book that's all good news really...

I do a horrid scary job where being awake/alert/firing on all cylinders is pretty important and am just hoping they don't notice me napping at my desk each day...

Meita · 25/09/2009 12:34

Hello,

tfls well temp stayed same as yesterday - no further rise, no dip. Now both FF and MyNFP tell me I ovulated on CD27. I remain sceptical since at 36.75 my temp is still about 0.2 below my usual luteal-phase temp of 36.95.

Am now a bit unsure about BD strategy. I would really rather not have another "cycle of no chances" due to no BD on the right days. On the other hand I don't think I can keep up the "every other night" schedule we've been on since CD10 or so. It also seems a bit pointless since I might have already ovulated. Maybe aim for every third night, and continue using the cheepie OPKs, at least until my temps are more convincing?
At least the good news is: If FF and MyNFP are right, and I ovulated on CD27, then our chances this cycle are as good as it gets - BD on ov-2, ov, and ov+1(am). AF would then be due on CD42 or 43.
DP is returning later today - happy!

Sounds like you just might be pg, tfls with all that happened last night!

boodle and leeWT sending you best wishes and hugs.

did I already say congrats to waiting? If not, hey, what good news! How are you feeling now - a bit calmer? Our graduates list is starting to look pretty impressive!

thefatladyscreams · 25/09/2009 09:57

meita - what a night! There was obviously something going round yesterday. I was feeling out of sorts when I went for my acupuncture session. Came out feeling completely zonked and drove home vaguely aware that someone was wrong with the car. Made mental note to check tyres when got home but completely forgot and took it out again to pick up DH from the station. Again became aware that something was really wrong but in my fog (god I'm hoping I'm pregnant as some sort of excuse!) carried on driving to the station. Hence greeted DH off train with completely knackered tyre (and probably damaged the wheel as I'd driven on it for so long). Hence 1 hour in a dark car park trying to change the tyre before coming home to the burnt chicken I'd left in the oven.... Bless DH, he saw the funny side.

Hope you're having a calmer day today. The cycling near misses sound horrible - glad you're OK. Well done to DP. What news on the temps today?

MrsR - I have a worrying mental picture of you and MrR reading the jokes page!

louisesh - it was my question, thanks. Glad you had a good time in Amsterdam.

Talking of holidays, hope you're having a lovely day off cheepz. Looks like you've got the weather for it.

Lovely to hear from you LittleOneMum - how are you feeling?

Good evening!

apples hey so what am I to make of that? Finally I reach you at the top of the list, fully intending to keep you company for as long as it takes, and what do you do? You leave! Just like that! Such.. such.. willfulness!
No but seriously, am thrilled that finally something is happening for you. Am thinking I should call doc to get an appointment about not ovulating and bingo, I'd ovulate, right? 'Cause that's how it works, isn't it? Simple logic, pure science.

Am tired and had a rubbish end of the day - was going to leave the office at 7.10, but at 7.05 computer went into automatic shut-down mode (a new energy saving initiative) and took about two hours of hard, boring work with it, which I will now have to re-do tomorrow. Then, cycling to the train station, twice I was very nearly run over, really dangerous and tricky situations, more luck than anything else that nothing happened. On top of everything, I have now been doing OPKs since 16 days and still only negatives.

On the positive side though (never go to bed with your mind on all the downsides, me says) - temps look as if I might have ovulated even though no positive test, if rise continues tomorrow, that is. DP had doctoral exam yesterday and passed with flying colours - I am VERY proud of him! And our cat climbed onto my lap yesterday - she never does that, she's a rescue cat and extremely people-shy, won't be picked up and at most will sit next to you to be cuddled.

On that note, and with eyes falling closed, a big wave at everyone, hope to catch up on things soon - and thanks for "listening" to my ranting!

Cheepz · 24/09/2009 22:20

Added louisesh to the list but didn't know UCL or which cycle post mc or CD although took a stab and bunged in CD17 - you might want to amend details when you have a min

mrsr all soudns very pregnant to me - we would all love you to be as well although if you get pg you might leave and that would be a disaster - if you get pregnant you will just have to stay here - thats my final word on the matter xx

littleonemum you don't have to go anywhere either. If I actually manage to get knocked up I will be staying put let me tell you - no buses for me, might visit the grads thread but am more interested in having you guys hold my hand should we ever get there.

chamo tfls step away from the early tests

MrsRigby · 24/09/2009 21:28

Evening

Yey for applesaretheonlyfruit .

Okay well in addition the the daily headaches, this morning I felt sick, until about 1pm. Oh and peeing more than usual, but then I have started drinking 1.5 litres of water (apparently it helps you ovulate). I know these are pregnancy symptoms, but I just can't believe for a second that I'm pregnant - though you all know how much I'd love to be. Still very jealous of sister-in-law and friend who are both pregnant.

DH and I are just laughing over a few jokes he's read in the childrens section (he asked me to clarify that part) of the local paper:

What do sea monsters eat. Fish and Ships.

What do you call a fish with no eyes. A fsh.

louisesh · 24/09/2009 19:36

Hi all hope everyone s well.Just returned from 4 days in Amsterdam very good and back at work today...In answer to someones question, sorry can t remeember whos!!! This is our first we are ttc and i ll be 39 in Dec and no i don t think its nosey to ask , whoever asked!!!!!

LittleOneMum · 24/09/2009 16:07

AAARGH - fairy lights, not fairly ones...

LittleOneMum · 24/09/2009 16:07

Hello! (waves)

I couldn't abandon you, and was dying to see how everyone was!

boodle I had tears running down my face at your post. OF COURSE your bean knew that you loved him/her. And we know.

cheepz totally sympathise with the contrary 2 year old DS behaviour. My DS was 2 this weekend and it's as if someone flicked a switch and he suddenly started saying no to everything. AARGH. He's not afraid of the dark either but I'm sure it is just a matter of time (my friend strung a string of fairly lights in her DS's room when he started doing that, and it seems to work a treat).

Cheepz · 24/09/2009 13:50

I moved you apples and its so good to see you no longer at the top of the list

Day going ok - have a day off tomorrow so feels like Friday

DS decided he was scared of the dark last night - it took 2 hours to settle him down brings new meaning to the word frustrating.

hope all ok today

go apples whoop

thefatladyscreams · 23/09/2009 23:10

Oh yippppeeeeeee apples. That's one very long awaited CD1! At least the gyne unit validated that you've had an extremely long wait. Just hope it's not a horrible AF after all this time?

meita - I'm guessing that you were worrying about a possible underactive thyroid?? What are your temps like? I think they are meant to be consistently low in that scenario. Hope o/v waits for DP's return

MrsR - that's tough having to deal with SIL's news. Just to add to meita's advice on temping, I bought an expensive ear thermometer from a chemist. Turns out they are useless for temping and you need a Basal one which only cost me a few quid off Amazon. Typical!

Glad you tracked us down cheepz. You sound like you really deserve a treat and to be spoiled this weekend. Perhaps a couple of hints to DH that it's pay-back time !

[TFLS hands barrenbrook a huge bar of chocolate]. But it does sound like you're still in with a chance this cycle judging by the dates, so fingers crossed for you.

boodle at thrush. It never rains but it pours.... Oh I wish I could give you a hug. You know you did the ONLY thing possible but that won't take away the feelings of grief and what ifs. Having to sign that form must have been horribly symbolic. I guess it will take a while to work it all through and it's still such early days. I'm sure your bean knew how much you loved him or her and that won't ever change.

OP posts:
applesaretheonlyfruit · 23/09/2009 22:22

Hi, finally caved in this morning and phoned the gyne unit that did the ERPC 65 days ago. Explained no AF - which they thought was a very long time and should be checked. Unfortunately there was not a protocol for them to check me without going through GP or going to A and E. All of which would have taken hours.

Still, worth it, as AF arrived this afternoon. So after more than two months of waiting I am finally on CD1...

Hi boodleboot, it is horrible the thoughts you have afterwards, particularly sad because your little bean was just in the wrong place..

Cheepz · 23/09/2009 21:49

boodle so hard for you, but you are right your kids need you here.

barrenbrook I had cramps with ds for most of the 2ww, worse than normal pmt ... just an observation to give food for thought....

mrsr lmao at your wee fib to your dh, but sympathise as ds has been and still is diabolical sleeper - have read every book, tried everything and its better but inconsistent, normally worst nights are just before I have big presentation at work...

I am back from our 5 day wedding extravaganza where dh got to live it up and i dealt with the hassle of extended childcare abroad and now he has buggered off til friday on a work do, and is away for work again next week....

ds is 2 and abit and has just decided, tonight, that he is scared of the dark = 2 hour settling to bed, and is also going through a 'no' phase - although with him he says 'not' e.g. 't come and have your nappy changed' - 'not'; or 'can you come and keep your juice in the playroom please' - 'not'; 'will you do what mummy tells you' - 'not'; 'lets go and have our bath now' - 'not'... and so it continues, really, its not frustrating at all

MrsRigby · 23/09/2009 20:43

boodleboot that last paragraph has got me in floods of tears.

It's a bit of a rollercoaster this TTC. Yesterday I was confident that this was my month. Today I feel that there is no hope.

DH has just informed me that he is going to Madrid next week (work). Leaving me alone with 10 month old DS who by the way is teething and waking up at 12am, 2am, 4.30am and finally 5.30am.

I just hope I've already ovulated.

I've told DH to email his colleague and tell him that he can't go, as I'm possibly ovulating next week .

boodleboot · 23/09/2009 17:29

well physically i have got the most appalling thrush that i have ever had. Apparently as i had it before the ectopic and hadn't managed to clear it as couldn't use pessaries incase needed to be emergency scanned, the antibiotics i am on for the PID and the surgery have just sent the thrush wild....TMI for sure....

mentally i am very accepting of what happened but still so gutted about the reduction in my chances of falling again....DH and i are waiting for our couples counsellor that we saw last year to call us back to make appt to see her for some sessions to sort out how we feel about not having a child between us versus trying and possibly failing to have a healthy pregnancy.

i hope this doesn't depress you all too much but i have been pretty haunted by the picture of my little bean and heartbeat on the screen and how awfully it went against every motherly instinct i have to sign the consent form for the surgery....totally irrational as i possibly wouldn't have survived without the surgery and my kids need me here and now but grief and loss don't feel very rational i guess. I hope my bean knew how much i loved it already...

barrenbrook · 23/09/2009 17:17

Hey boodlebot, I'm so sorry about your ectopic, it is however good to hear that you are thinking of getting back to trying! Baby steps every day til you(and your body) are completely ready

How are you feeling?

boodleboot · 23/09/2009 17:01

i found you girls....

have had the first feelings of 'perhaps i could go through it again' today....

barrenbrook · 23/09/2009 16:52

Sorry, last post was a bit "me, me, me!"

Somebody hit me now!

barrenbrook · 23/09/2009 16:51

Hello! I found you all, if I'm completely honest I didn't actually notice it was a new thread, yes I am that much of a numb skull

Super happy for the BFP's. Congrats if I've not already said it

So CD19 for me, am super grumpy and thinking I've missed the boat this month, we BD'd days 3,4,6,7,9,10 and nothing since cos of crappy shifts we've both been on.(I've got a CBFM and I was shown high on days 7-9 then peak days 10 and 11.

I feel a bit guilty for being miserable, I even think AF is gonna be a shocker this month as my cramps have started already with 9 days to go Goddamit!!!

Bugger. Onwards and upwards I suppose.
(barrenbrook heads to fridge for chocolate)

Cheepz · 23/09/2009 15:52

whoops - there i go - obsessing and wishing my life away again
