Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

Hi,

Tigerbear, if it was me I wouldn't go back unless you feel there is a problem. I think I know your mother! If you don't do it EXACTLY as you are told, your behaviour will be filed away for future reference..My MIL defers to anyone who takes on a vague aura of authority. I think if a traffic warden told her to bend over backwards, she would... I, on the other hand, am quite contrary.

Tip: if you get cold called at home by car/house insurance companies, and mobile phone companies and don't like it, do the following:

Them; Hello, madam, I would just like to confirm you name, date of birth and address before we continue.

Me: I don't think I want what you are selling.

Them: Well if you can just confirm your details I'll put on file that you aren't interested.

Me: Ok, but first I need your name, date of birth and address.

Them: Ehhhh, we don't give out our own details.

Me: Well, I'm sorry, but this is MY policy and until you can do this, I can't help you...I can tell you, though, that under the Data Protection Act, I will not share your details with third parties unless it is in the public interest.

Conversation goes on and on,,, until they realise I am winding them up and they have wasted their own time..

tigerbear · 29/09/2009 11:24

Waves to everyone! Thanks for the welcome back.

Question - the EPU asked me to go back to see them a week after the mc and the blood tests which confirmed the pregnancy wasn't progressing. They asked me to go back a week later to do another pg test and another blood test to confirm the hormone levels were still decreasing, however as it was the day before I went on holiday I kind of forgot that their opening hours were between a certain time, and couldn't go / also didn't see the point in going just to find out what I already knew.

My Mum thinks the EPU will put on my records that I didn't go back, and that i should, for want of a better phase, ''get closure'' on it and make sure everything has been done properly. Now that it's over 2 weeks since it all happened and I physically feel fine, is it really necessary to go for another blood and pg test???

zayja · 29/09/2009 11:14

Well, barrenbrook, could be implantation bleeding - normally happens 6-12 dpo (so I've read). Let's hope! Do you normally get spotting between or before periods? Also, looks like it's your WTF cycle? In that case - just about anything is possible! Same goes for you tigerbear

Meita · 29/09/2009 11:05

Ladies!

Some news here though yet inconclusive: I've surprisingly started spotting/light bleeding. Though so far it's all brownish, not bright red. So I am thinking: a) AF has arrived. In which case this cycle was clearly anovulatory, 'cause no way did I ovulate 14/15 days ago, and I very much doubt that my luteal phase has gone down to 8 days. Not too much put off by this - it means a new cycle, a new chance. Hopefully this time with ovulation! b) Well FF puts me on DPO 8 today. So this could be implantation bleed? [daresnottohope]
Will update once bleed has established itself more clearly!

tiger I'm glad you found us again. Sounds like you had a great time! There is no way of really knowing what is happening with your cycle, so just being relaxed about it is clearly the way to go.

barrenbrook ah, I'm joining you in knicker-checking - like you, it could be "early" AF or implantation bleed with me, too. Though I'm guessing it's the former. I do think excessive sport could trigger early AF - but not when you are accustomed to doing things like this. Anyway, fingers crossed for you that it is the "right" kind of bleed!

zayja am glad you found us, too! I think most everyone has shown up on the new thread now, so no need to worry anymore. It sounds like you are really busy! I hope you are enjoying it! Ha, CD18 does seem a bit early for symptom-spotting - though given that you sometimes have short cycles and have ovulated early, who knows?

cheepz keeping your eyes peeled for EWCM?

louise "I can't be bothered anymore" vibes are exactly what I'm looking for. Pass them over!

chamois oh, someday you'll have to tell me more about the adoption process. For instance, do you think someone relatively foreign to the UK would be considered at all as adoptive parents? (I'm a British citizen but have only lived in the UK since 3 years, and DP is not a British citizen and has only lived here for 2 years) And, mostly, would you say if we were considering adoption, we should start the process/start talking to people, or wait until we would have made our minds up that this is definitely what we want to do?
But most of all and much more urgent - any news on the BFP front?

Hello, so glad to find you all again! I've just been away for a lovely week of walking in Northumberland, and also did the Great North Run. I clocked up 65 miles of running and walking, and all the fresh air and time with DH did me good. We are back to BD again, but no idea if we are doing it at the right time as I still haven't had AF yet.

barrenbrook · 29/09/2009 08:28

sorry for putting this on different posts but i'm using my phone and the little box isn't big enough for all my wittering.

I wanted to run something by you all. TMI alert.... So, yesterday, I was CD 24, 12dpo, i went to the loo and had some brown cm, looked like the end of a period, nothing more. I don't want to go getting my hopes up or anything but of course I am and am hoping it's an implantation bleed. I ran a half marathon at the weekend so half of me is thinking it's my period come early from all the jigging about! Any advice ladies? X

barrenbrook · 29/09/2009 08:18

Morning ladies, hope you are all well.

Boodle, sending you a big hug and an apology for asking you how you felt then seemingly fecking off without responding to your reply, my laptop died on me and then my phone decided to pack up too. I'm quite sure your little bean knows how much they meant to you and your OH. You do us all proud with your positive outlook and attitude x

zayja · 28/09/2009 22:51

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I was AWOL for so long, just been back to work - and am I ever! I check in periodically, but never feel I have the time to post Well, 've got a minute now so...
Congrats littleonemum, as others have said - please don't feel you can't hang around here, we need the success stories to keep us going when AF is being a persistent old bitch! viv - what a relief it must have been to see that healthy little bean, great news! boodle and lee, so glad you ladies are still visiting us - you've been through such shite and this is surely the spot for support. Welcome kaylo this thread is all about getting back to the important business of ttc after mmc and is a great spot for asking questions about what to expect.
meita, you said it, post-mc cycles are a real drag! Mine have been all over. First no ov - then late ov, now this month - early! I almost missed my bd window - what a pisser that would have been. I was getting lots of cm - around day 10 & 11 (mind you I ov'd at day 18 last mo.)and thought is was just the leakage from - ahem - "practice" a few days earlier, but then noticed my temps were a bit higher then last mo. So I peed on an opk and got a +!
Already I am symptom spotting, but don't want to get hopes up. Like tfls was saying, AF is quite a blow when you've convinced yourself she won't be visiting this mo. A few months back, I would've put money on it that I was pg, now I don't feel that I can trust my women's intuition anymore!
Well, here's hoping for another BFP from someone soon. Think ++++++++

louisesh · 28/09/2009 20:23

Meita can send you some vibes although i think they are more "can t be bothered " vibes anymore!!! Think i m just drained with it all after 2 MCS....

Hope everyone is well....

chamoiscreased · 28/09/2009 18:28

Am literally laughing out loud at the emoticon ideas!
Meita I have experience of adoption. I have to be a bit careful what I say on here as my family setup is quite unusual and I have to be careful of being identified in RL. But I'm more than happy to talk about the process. In a nutshell, its a very long, drawn out, stressful process but entirely worth it in the end - not much different to TTC in that respect!
viv please stay - you're a great inspiration to me and we need you grads around to stop us turning into bitter old ladies remind us that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Cheepz · 28/09/2009 17:21

tfls sorry about AF - good call on the vino

meita evilgrin - nice - although we also need an [imnotdoinganhpt] and a [noreallyitsfinethatAFishere] emoticon

viv must have been terrifying - glad everything has worked out ok - like Meita I may stay here for my entire pregnancy when it happens so don't feel the need to depart, don't mind hearing about your preganancy if youve been here - its just every other pregnancy I object to hearing about

CD 8 no sign of any ewcm yet but normally starts around CD9 so will be keeping eyes peeled tomorrow! maybe we need a [iseeewcm] emoticon too....

thefatladyscreams · 28/09/2009 16:54

meita that's brilliant - WE NEED AN EVILGRIN smiley!

OP posts:
Meita · 28/09/2009 16:33

Hello,

tfls so sorry that AF got you. Those temp dips at the end of our cycles, they are just never wrong, are they. Well at least it means we get some warning that AF is about to arrive. Well, by all means, do indulge yourself tonight. Having AF get you is not the end of the world, but it most definitely is a downer, and you deserve pampering a bit!

I like your DH's philosphy. Though for me, I am not quite ready yet to say "we can be happy without kids" though I am sure we could. At the moment I am thinking more in terms of adoption as the primary alternative, rather than life without kids. I like the idea of adoption very much - there are kids who need homes so very much! It's just that the whole process of adopting (I've looked into it a little) appears very daunting.
Has anyone else ever considered adoption?

chamois hmmm could have been ovulation bleed instead. Which would mean you should probably wait another day or two before testing. [evilgrin] No but seriously, I have all fingers crossed for you. It would be about time for another BFP!

viv sure sounds like an emotional rollercoaster of superlatives! I am sooo glad it ended on a high! Please, do stay here as long as you like. Whenever I get a BFP I will be sticking here for a loooong time.

Thanks chamois - hope you have better luck in the next few days. AF has arrived so I've put a bottle of wine in the fridge for tonight (the diet can go AWOL tonight).

Viv - that's fantastic news . Now you can relax and get back to wedding planning!

OP posts:
VivClicquot · 28/09/2009 12:05

Hi ladies,

Have had a worrying couple of days - had some spotting yesterday while I was at our wedding venue having my final planning meeting. DP was still away on his stag do, so I was just terrified. It wasn't much and didn't last long, but was enough to make me phone the EPU who told me that if it carried on, I should come straight in this morning.

So, got up this morning and there was quite a lot more, so rushed straight to EPU. They gave me a scan and blow me if there wasn't a lovely embryo with a very strong heartbeat happily getting on with things. There was no evidence of any bleeding in the womb, so they have no idea what caused it or anything but are as confident as they can be that everything is hunky dory. Relief is not the word.

Anyway, hope you're all well. Still not brave enough to venture far away from this thread yet, so am sure I'll hang around a wee while longer if that's okay!

chamoiscreased · 27/09/2009 22:46

ah TFLS x-posts, sorry. Don't feel bad about the pity party, go for it. I'm sure I will be joining you in the next few days. Take care and get some sleep and I hope your week is better than your weekend x

chamoiscreased · 27/09/2009 22:43

Oh here you all are!
Meita I'm sorry everything seem a bit all over the place at the moment. Stay positive sweetie.
TFLS good to hear from you, I'm enjoying having you as my CD buddy! Any symptoms of anything apart from brain fog?!
Kaylo sorry you're here but glad you found us iyswim

Well CD28 for me tomorrow but not holding out much hope as it's been a very stressful month and TTC has had to take a bit of a back seat. Perhaps that's a good thing, I'm not sure. Had slight spotting on days 17 and 18 which was just like the implantation bleed I had with my last pg but surely far too early this time as was days 27 an 28 last time? so not getting excited just yet.
love, Chamois

(who is trying very hard to ignore the test calling to her from the bathroom cupboard
pee on me...pee on me....)

thefatladyscreams · 27/09/2009 22:31

Sorry meita - just read your post and understand your feelings of puzzlement (is that a word?) and frustration at wanting to get back your regular cycle and at least understand what is going on. You sound like you have a good philosophy about it though - my DH has a great outlook. We'll be happy together if we have a child and we'll be happy together if we don't. It's just a different type of happy.

OP posts:
thefatladyscreams · 27/09/2009 22:25

Hi welcome kaylo. Sorry to hear about your m/c. I'd echo everyone else that it is a very individual thing about when to TTC again but I wanted to start as soon as I could.

Ladies, I apologies in advance for the pity party but I've had a really lousy weekend for various reasons. Topped by a big temp dip today and started spotting so pretty certain AF is arriving tomorrow. Stupid thing is that I secretly thought I might be pregnant - lots of symptons in the last few days. What an idiot. Hit me hard today as I'd got my hopes up (not helped by only an hour's sleep last night so not at my most resilient). I did warn you it was a pity party. Sorry for the rant.

OP posts:
Kaylo · 27/09/2009 15:53

hi

Cheepz, Lousie and Meita - Thank You! I know what you mean about it sounding blunt but I completely agree with you - I guess it was fairly straightforward. If I started to think too much about it and got attached in any way I'd find it harder to cope with. Baby was very much wanted but was not meant to be, maybe next time!
I'm not bleeding anymore, theres nothing left to come out apparently so dh and I will start TTC again this week sometime. Am staying away from OPK's as I know they're unreliable after mc.

I've already had a negative pregnancy test so don't think theres any hormone left in me to interfere with any future BFP's.

Thanks Again xx

Meita · 27/09/2009 14:05

Hi ladies,

kaylo I think most of us here went back to TTC immediately. The only problem with this, as far as I can see, is that the cycle immediately after an MC can be a bit confusing. BBT, CM, and OPKs can all give you false or misleading results. For some of us, this "WTF-cycle" as we call it, was much longer than usual cycles; for others, it was much shorter. (and some of us had regular cycles and fell pg immediately again) All these things make timing your BD a bit tricky. But if you're not so much into timing anyway, then that shouldn't be a problem. On the other hand, there is the issue of timing HPTs. I would advise you to do a quality pregnancy test sometime approx. mid-cycle, just to make sure there aren't any pg-hormones lingering in your body anymore. Else, if you do get a BFP sometime soon, you won't know for sure if you are really pg or if it is just showing left-over hormones. That can be very distressing!

TFLS, Chamois I am starting to get all excited for you!

cheepz I do hope you have been able to make peace with your DH! It's depressing, isn't it, having such rows when you are TTC. Makes you wonder. But on the other hand, if rows and arguments are part and parcel of your relationship, it would be strange to assume they'll just go away as soon as you start TTC! On the contrary, as stress and tension mounts with long periods of unsuccesful TTC and MCs, they would be more likely than ever.

louise I'm glad to hear you are feeling relaxed about it all Would you please send some of your relax-vibes over here?

My temp has fallen again, so I am less convinced than ever that I actually ovulated. I might yet ovulate, or this cycle could be anovulatory. We will see. Yesterday I had a very teary moment about it all, thinking it was all so unfair - before the MC my cycles were pretty regular, and I was pretty relaxed about it all; now I am increasingly anxious and my cycles are increasingly all over the place. Have calmed down since, have realised that well, I will just have to school myself in patience - one anovulatory cycle or two is not the end of the world, nor does it mean that I will never have a baby. There.

My cycle length is 28 days and i m on cd19 from ny ERPC soo still counting that as my cd1.Trying not to think about ttc or the recent MC just enjoying awaiting my hols and lots of wine!!!!

Not really BD enough recently dut to "life" getting in the way but hey ho!!!! Feel a bit chilled about it all think for the last 19 months we ve been ttc and all we ve got to show for it is 2 MCs soo i think thats why i ve lost some interest in it all at the moment.Bd days 10,12,15 and 17.Don t hold out much hope for this month....

Hi kaylo i too had my 2nd MC/ERPC 19 days ago.I had a scan on the 8th sept, erpc on 9th sept bleeding had stopped 5 days later i rung EPU and they said we could ttc 5 days later.I think first time we BD was a week after ERPC.We too are ttc asap .....

Cheepz · 26/09/2009 22:54

kaylo welcome and sorry you found your way here - but thank god for you you did

none of us waited at all is the simple answer (unless there were medical reasons why we had to) leeWT can probably tell you about that but sounds like you are in the 'straightforward' mc category which would mean go for it right away! - sorry if straightforward not sounding sympathetic just tryiong to say not medically complicated

mrsr my ds wont let anyone hold him he makes himself all ridgind and slides off people who try - hilarious, once they are past 3-6 months i can't see why people want to hold them either

dh and i had monster row tonight - about tenant of all things - not interested in bd right now - not really interested in even spawing any more offspring with him wight now - has put me off ttc momentarily.

going to bed - to read
