Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

Morning (DS is napping )

Welcome sevans I'm so sorry your going through this. I miscarried on 17th November - about 2 weeks ago now, the fetus still in the sac, came out at home after 3 days of bleeding. Be strong. The most difficult and frightening thing I found was the amount of blood I lost after the baby had come out. Again I'm so sorry . The only pain I had was cramping just before the placenta came out, and after seeing the size of it I now understand. I couldn't sit or stand for any length of time. I think it'll happen soon, probably within a day. I'm sorry.

tigger15 I think it's all a load of crap, doesen't really matter what you do, though that said it's always worth a chance, see below:

1 Make love regularly - we have sex every 2 days.

2 Cut down on caffeine - I have 1 cup of tea per day and that's it.

3 Keep him cool - pass.

4 Stop excessive dieting - ha, ha, ha I've never been on a diet in all my life.

5 Supplement your diet - have lost count of the amount of years I've been taking Pregnacare.

6 Cut down on smoking and drinking - have never smoked and stopped drinking at 19.

7 Cut out recreational drugs - have never done recreational drugs and VERY rarely take prescription medication, although on metformin 850mg bd.

8 Cut down on painkillers - don't take them.

9 Try a sexy spice - don't like spicy food.

10 Get checked out by doctor - done, diagnosed with PCOS.

boodleboot I've had itchy nipples for a couple of days now, but probably too soon for me . I have a good feeling, I think you'll get good news VERY soon.

Oh god, he's awake - I'll have top check back later...

boodleboot · 02/12/2009 08:23

sevans i had ERPC then full salpingectomy so altho i did bleed it was nowhere near a miscarriage amount of blood....hopw it passes soon. Hows your 'head' feeling?

i realise that i sound preposterous to even consider that i would fall on the first cycle of trying post EP but i can't help it....boobs still feel tingly and have had sharp stabbing pain this morning, similar to my OV pain, very intense - i am 12DPO today and wonder if this could be an implantation pain....i wish my womb had a window so i could see whats goin on in there

i have been testing on internet cheapies as i have about a squillion of them and am still convinced there is the faint line in some lights but this could totally be the evap line they talk about.....and my wishful thinking. i would SO love to end this year on a BFP....

still can't help thinking......MRSR you remember when i was trying before i and met you on that other thread about just 'knowing' when you are pregnant....i honestly feel like that again....i guess i will know for sure by this time next week. I have lost my faith in my ability to know what is happening after the EP....this could just be wishful thiniing

hows everyone else this morning?

sevans · 02/12/2009 03:09

Thanks for the welcome boodleboot and thefatladyscreams.

I still haven't had any heavy bleeding but the abdominal pain is awful. I really, really hope it goes away soon. I can hardly even stand up straight. Will this end anytime soon?!?

thefatladyscreams · 01/12/2009 22:49

Just popping in before off to bed. Will post properly tomorrow but just wanted to say welcome sevans. So sorry you're going through this - it is such a horrible experience but you will find loads of support on here. Kindred spirits and all that. Hope you've got plenty of TLC tonight and take good care of yourself.

i have got tingly boobs.

thats my lot this evening. hope all is well with you guys x

tigger15 · 01/12/2009 21:54

I just found an article about 10 things to boost fertility any views?

1 Make love regularly

ok do that already

2 Cut down on caffeine

Research has shown that as little as one cup of coffee per day can halve your chances of conception.

maybe i'll try cutting out decaff this month

3 Keep him cool

(no tight trousers)

not a problem

4 Stop excessive dieting

hmm now when did I last go on a diet

5 Supplement your diet

Take zinc, selenium and vitamin C supplements.
Zinc for him - zinc is crucial for the proper development of the sperm; for her - zinc is crucial for cell division ? if cell division is inadequate it makes it more difficult for the egg to fertilise.
? Selenium for him ? it?s essential to maximise sperm formation and testosterone production.
? Vitamin C for him ? it can enhance sperm quality; for her ? it can help with ovulation.

Any views on this one? I don't think zinc is a great idea for me as it interferes with my insulin and ended up with a coma when I tried it about 8 years ago but I don't mind vitamin c. Anyone tried this?

6 Cut down on smoking and drinking

Smoking and drinking interferes with the reproductive system of both men and women so you should aim to cut out smoking altogether and limit your drinking to no more than six units (six glasses of wine or three pints of beer) a week.

check

7 Cut out recreational drugs

Maybe I should start them for stress relief

8 Cut down on painkillers

Some painkillers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, can interfere with conception if taken around the time of ovulation by suppressing hormones called prostaglandins, which the body needs to release the egg into the fallopian tube.

I always thought paracetamol was fine but since I only take ibuprofen for period pains it's not really an issue.

9 Try a sexy spice

Fenugreek has high levels of vitamins A and D, which can help with sexual desire and impotence. It can also increase the body?s metabolism, giving you more energy for sex.

Must get fenugreek....

10 Get checked out by doctor

Only they won't see you till you've been trying a year.

Interested to hear if anyone's tried any of these in particular vitamins and fenugreek and whether it's made a difference.

sevans · 01/12/2009 17:30

Hi girls. Do you mind if I join you? my fears were confirmed at my appointment today. I am going through a miscarriage. I would have been seven weeks today but from the scan it appears that I didn't make it that far into the pregnancy. I am having some bleeding and cramping. No major bleeding so I assume it is still to come.

Hi Ladies,
Well I'm sorry I can't be the next BFP, AF got me Fri. I'm now CD 4 and will update the list and try not to screw it up!

Meita that is such a sad thing, I felt so ripped off at 3mos. w/ a mmc, I can't imagine the anger I'd feel at full term. Also questioning if something would've been different had they monitored her more closely and taken the baby early? That would kill me. As someone else said, any kind and understanding words are well received.

TFLS, I've gotta say that I'll join you with the sad of the month award. I've got it all figured ahead too and should be able to test right around Christmas.

lol cheepz, I love tmi, makes me feel normal Here's hoping it's your month, I too have heard a holiday can make all the difference.

Looking forward to my first appt. with a new (highly recommended)fertility specialist this Thurs. Just a first mtg. but I can't wait to get a move on. Also started a diet today as I'm as big as I've ever been and got pg last time I dropped some weight and was taking care of myself. Wish me willpower!

randomimposter · 30/11/2009 08:03

just popping in to say hi... have been reading but keeping quiet.. not very hopeful this month, too much snot and sneezing going on...
mrsR... the thought of EVEN more than every other day makes me feel quite dizzy... ....

MrsRigby · 29/11/2009 21:32

Evening everyone

cheepz

Went to Boots today and brought a First Response Ovulation kit - actually got 2 as it was a BOGOF offer and they each come with a free pregnancy test .

Sex again tonight, not really looking forward to it, but needs must . We're going for the every 2 days plan of attack. If I'm not pregnant in a month, we'll up it to every other day. I don't even want to go into what we'll do if I'm still not pregnant in 2 months!!!

Hope everyone is well.

thefatladyscreams · 29/11/2009 19:09

meita that is so terribly tragic. I think your idea of contacting her is lovely. Every act of kindness counts at times like that. Hope you're OK.

fingers - get thee to a doctor. It sounds like you've had this for quite a while?

boodle - your CAPS did make me laugh. This is a woman returning to TCC with gusto!

Hope that sun is shining cheepz. Very impressed with you posting from Cape Town and hope the holiday does the magic in every sense. I've read about so many instances where people get pregnant on holiday.....

Tigger - I wouldn't overworry. I read somewhere about the percentage chance of conceiving each month and I was amazed at how relatively low it was. Just need to keep plugging away (so to speak ) each month!

barrenbrook - I've had shortened periods since my m/c and then 2 days of spotting the last time. This one has finally started as normal and I think the acupuncture has helped sort it out. Hope the reflexology does the same for you. Sounds lovely

CakeandFineWine - any news??

Feeling tired - could do with another day of the weekend....

Now how about this for sad - I've already worked out that IF I got pregnant this cycle I could test just before Christmas and the child would be a September starter for the school year. Sad of the month award for me!

OP posts:
fingerscrossedlegsopen · 29/11/2009 18:24

Hi all

Sorry for quick post, been away, now lots of work to do .

Meita god that's so tragic, I was so sorry to read your post. I would echo everything that has been said already and am sure when the time comes you will say the right thing.

Sorry for the AF arrivals and good luck Boodle!!

As for me..still got the kidney pain and really not feeling right. Desperate to try this month but petrified health issues may cause another mc (was kidding myself on last post that could "relax and wait" think I was trying to stop obsessing IYKWIM...but really do need to sort health out).

So booking in at GP this week and will see how I go.

Have a good week everyone, hoping to have some good news from those at the top of the list soon xx

Cheepz · 29/11/2009 16:20

CD 13 - lucky for some, could it be lucky for me? 2nd Peak day on CBFM and we managed it yesterday on peak number 1 so am hoping that again today should be a winner

that being said am not sure dh completed the job last night as a) he had a huge amount to drink, b) it slipped out at the wrong moment and c) there has not been alot of residual 'mess' today... am trying to give mrsr a run for the money in the tmi stakes

either way am hoping if we go tonight as well then maybe ......

boodle step away from the POAS tests... save yourself a fortune

BB and Tigger sorry AF got you both ..

xx

barrenbrook · 29/11/2009 11:26

Mrs R So sorry to hear of your loss honey, life is sodding unfair sometimes. Sending you a mahusive hug and large glass of something strong. However your last post made me almost wet myself laughing so I'm feeling like you are bouncing back, yes tmi about the itching but fecking funny!!!

Meita that's just so sad, I'm completely lost for what to say, I can't even begin to imagine how devastated she must be. I'm sure you will find the words when you speak with her, you always seem to know the right thing to say on here

Forgive my lack of posting again, I've been trying to quieten my mumsnet and TTC obsession so have been lurking and occasionally reading. AF got me CD 26 again this month, fecking cycles are up the spout after ANOTHER 2 days of spotting, so that's three months on the bounce. Bollocks!

I read that it could be a B6 deficiency or low progesterone so am trying a B complex vitamin to see if that helps first before I head to the quacks. I also had my first session of reflexology, it was divine! I have no idea if it will help or not but it was heavenly so will be keeping it up.

AF came this morning on CD31. Kind of a relief as I don't need to worry about effects of swine flu jab but also I now need to work out what went wrong with the OPK. If you have a positive result and you have BDd the night before and that night shouldn't that be enough? All advice gratefully received.

Meita that is awful. Painful though it is to lose at the early stage most of us do one of my consoling thoughts is always how much worse it would be at a later stage when they are actually nearer people and it is announced to the whole world. I did speak to a friend who has lost 2 at 26 weeks and she said the harder one was when she didn't manage to conceive for a very long time after the 2nd.

boodleboot · 28/11/2009 21:25

I AM ON DAY 19 TODAY OF A 28 DAY CYCLE AND BY RECKONING 10dpo. Hi all

Sorry I've not been around for ages been super busy but have caught up on all the posts!

MEITA That it such sad news but its def best to say something than nothing the poor lady!! Really doesn't bear thinking about!

TFLS Sorry about AF
MRSR Congrat on your euromillions win I'm so unlucky on the lottery!! Oh and I read lots about the fertility following MC it puts pressure on to think it has to happen sooner I've never BD'ed so much as the month following my MC and my AF was a right kick in the teeth!
TETLEY Good news on the scan x
CHEEPZ Sorry to hear your sad news, thoughts to you and your family
BOODLE I've had my swine flu jab (frontline NHS) thought better to get it now whilst TTC than get PG again and be in early pregnancy in an outbreak! Your poor DS though hope he's feeling better soon. Also I reduced my caffeine to 2 cups per day when pg pre MC and have just stuck with that for now!

Finally APPLES FANTASTIC NEWS!!! Yeah the 1st BFP since I've been on this thread there is some hope

Well I think my AF is technically due tomorrow my 2nd since MC on 31st Aug!!
Got mixed feelings, a bit nauseous, tired etc but some pre-period cramps too so lets watch this space. I did crack and POAS about 6 days ago BFN but would be too early either way me thinks although last time PG test picked up super early?!

I try and keep up and posted with you all!
xxx

MrsRigby · 27/11/2009 19:55

Jesus christ meita.

I don't know her, but I'm so, so sad reading this.

It must be driving her crazy that the baby died after she should have been born.

Thats so, so sad.

When you think about it, we're actually really lucky miscarring compared to those who have still births or those whose babies die minutes/hours/days after being born.

This is really sad.

Why did the baby die? It just doesn't make sense.

I'm so sorry meita, pass on my condolences when you speak to her. I really feel for her.

boodleboot · 27/11/2009 17:01

bloody hell meita.....that is tragic.....so desperately sad. I couldn't even begin to contemplate what that poor lady and her DH is going through. I would suggest that before you speak to her you pause, take a deep breath and let God direct your speaking....its best to say something rather than avoid speaking to her....

Meita · 27/11/2009 16:39

Dear ladies,

I'm feeling very sad. I just learned that one of the women who I interviewed for my PhD project, lost her baby. The little girl died in the womb, six days after the due date, and was then stillborn.

I only met this woman three times. Once was before she started IVF treatment. She was full of hope that finally things would move forward; also scared, as she had earlier experienced an MMC at 10 weeks. The second time I met her was a day after she got her BFP. She was happy, though in a cautious way; knowing how much could still go wrong. The third time we met, she was 22 weeks pregnant, blooming, so very happy. Then, I was dealing with my own recent MC experience; her very visible bump did not make me sad or envious, but gave me hope.
And now I learned that the girl-baby died before her parents could ever take her into their arms.

This is so desperately sad.
I am going to have to talk to her. I am at a loss of what to say. We are not friends, though our 'professional' relationship was always very warm and friendly. Nothing I can say will really make a difference. And yet I will have to talk to her, and say something. Instead, I just feel like crying.

I'm sorry for burdening you all with this - I just needed to get it of my chest.

thefatladyscreams · 26/11/2009 21:28

Oh but forgot to ask - did you get your results today tetley?

Well I'm out. AF appeared today. A bit disappointed but not feeling too bad. I have had a consolatory glass of wine.

Sorry to post and dash but very long day at work and I'm exhausted and off to bed.

See you tomorrow.

MrsRigby · 26/11/2009 21:04

Evening

We BD last night and already I've got my hopes up . And for a change I actually quite enjoyed it - inside the vagina was a little itchy (I do wash) and his penis rubbed it better (though I'm now a bit itchy again).

I blame the knickers, I don't usually wear underwear, but with all the blood I needed something to stick the sanitary towels too. Can't wait to go back to using tampons, well, that's presuming I'll get a period.

Too much information???

tetleytea don't wait, just go for it as soon as you feel ready. I'm desperate for another baby (2 actually, I'd love 5 children but DH is being a bastard and only allowing me 3 ) and coped very well with miscarriage hence I'm already trying again - 1 week and 2 days later!

I really hope that this being more fertile following miscarriage is true. It would be kind of a nice way of mother nature saying 'I'm sorry, have another go'.

Besides I'm not a patient person, waiting is completely out of the question.

Is it odd that I'm looking forward to BD again on Saturday?

fingerscrossedlegsopen are you joking? There's no way I'm telling the press, every fucker will be moving to Liverpool thinking that they'll win the EuroMillions too. Far too many people here already. I wish DH would get that payrise already so we can move to a farm in the middle of nowhere.
