Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

viv [cheepzheartgoesout} sorry to see you again...

you are sounding very brave. being on this thread for so long has given me a wonderful insight into just how strong us women are with the things we have to deal with, frequently alone, and often while managing a bazillion other things at the same time.

you all inspire me

xx

VivClicquot · 18/12/2009 16:46

Hi ladies x

Hope you're all well. I haven't been on here in ages and realised when I decided to come and say "hi and here I go again", that I'm not sure you guys were aware that things didn't work out for me and DH with our last lovely baby.

We lost her (for she was a girl) on 5th Nov at 13 weeks after she was found at the scan to have Turner's Syndrome. This was eight days before our wedding, so as you can imagine, it's been a rollercoaster of a month.

But DH and I are getting there and despite the fact that we've lost two babies in the space of five months, feel like we may be ready to try again - third time lucky, right?

So here I am. Ready to have my hand held, to share the joys of positive thinking and to offload when I hear another friend tell me that I "really ought to take some time out from all this baby business". Idiots.

Viv x

ps - yay and big congrats to those of you who've graduated since I was last here. Hope you're all doing fantastically x

leewt, hohohojollster and barrenbrook I'm sorry AF has arrived .

effilump you shouldn't feel like a fraud, a loss is a loss no matter how many or how few a person has.

tigerbear I'm so jealous of your iphone and iperiod app . I'm waiting for Vodafone to release the iphone 3gs. And I'm on the 2WW too. Fingers crossed for a Christmas BFP. Good luck.

Okay so today's symptoms include:

  • Increased peeing;
  • Runny/stuffy nose;
  • Gassy/bloated feeling in my abdomen;
  • Feeling sick every now and then (very odd because with my previous pregnancies I didn't have this - maybe I'm pregnant with twins);
  • a niggily feeling to the lower left abdomen.

DH thinks I'm a muppet, setting myself up for a big fall. He's probably right. I'm absolutely convinced I'm pregnant. Oh dear.

Ah and DS didn't have his MMR jab today - apparently there needs to be a period of at least 4 weeks inbetween injections. So, I put him in nursery for an hour . As soon as I walked through the door the staff took him off me and told me to walk away. Well I cried all the way home and I was watching the clock and checking my phone for the whole hour. The entire time my legs felt jelly like. Then when I picked him up, they said he'd been brilliant - hadn't cried the entire time and had sat playing with the other 3 children (who luckily for him were girls). It took me almost a minute to reconise which child was mine, he looked different and when we got home he completely ignored me. Wouldn't kiss or cuddle me or come anywhere near - that really killed me. I don't think I can take that everytime I pick him up from nursery. About an hour after I fed him (when he was tired) he finally came to me for cuddles and kisses and we sat down and watched In The Night Garden.

Apparently, he did so well that he doesn't need to go back in to nursery until next Tuesday 9am-11am, so I get to have him all to myself for the next 4 days . No doubt I'll be on MN during those hours on Tuesday. What I'm doing feels wrong and against every instinct in my body, but I've got no choice for now.

Oh god I'm crying.

That's it, I'm going to make DS's milk and go to bed.

Goodnight everyone.

tigerbear · 17/12/2009 15:13

Cheepz (waves frantically!)* - I've been here, didn't you see me? I was going on about my fab new I-period app on the i-phone. It makes me feel like I'm getting more 'official' about the whole process by having it!
Same as when I started taking the omega and folic acid tablets - it was almost like by taking the tablets, I was more likely to conceived, as it was more OFFICIAL! .

I'm really hoping we managed to do it on the right day this month - now on 2 ww.

barrenbrook · 17/12/2009 10:33

hello to the newbies, sorry you are here, but nice to meet you I must apologise in advance for the next part of my post!

Excuse my language but BOLLOCKS! Again. AF showed up 3 days early, slight consolation being that there was no spotting beforehand. I'm well and truly over it. This whole lark is getting right on my tits!

Effilump · 17/12/2009 10:20

Hiya, went for my re scan yesterday, everything gone as I thought, was told to do a pregnancy test in two weeks, and to wait two cycles before trying again, which I wont be doing! I do feel a bit of a fraud, reading what some of you ladies have been, or are going through, this wasnt my 1st mc, it was my 4th, but I have got 4 dc, my mc are spaced quite far apart, my last baby was a suprise, with a gap of 12 years between him and my dd,(had two mc after she was born) Which prompted us to want another, and how I found myself here.

hohohojollster · 16/12/2009 22:35

Hi all
been too pissed off to post... got another short cycle and AF came last Thursday.... am being an ostrich at the moment and not even thinking about what these short cycles might mean (am 41)... need to get through Christmas and re-focus the other side...

congrats meita... sticky sticky sticky

sorry sunburn what an awful experience.. hope you are ok and your OH looking after you now..

Well AF got me today but as you all know I am quite happy to be got.. I felt extremely tired this morning so thought here goes time to get a test so bought it, peed on it, and two mins later there was AF what a waste of £6!! Tbh it made a nice change not to be desperately hoping and actually DH and I have been enjoying sex, lots of, non-BD-sex so as Cheepz so rightly said, I'm going to enjoy Xmas, enjoy my 30th birthday party and then bunny it up in the new year when i will sincerely be as crazy as i ever was on the 2ww!

thinking of you all and sending babydust your way!

MrsRigby · 16/12/2009 21:32

Evening

We had sex last night so I'm looking forward to the next 2 off.

DS is supposed to start nursery tomorrow, but I've decided to not put him in, I'm not ready to lose him yet. I don't want someone else looking after him and getting all the good bits that should be mine. He hasn't said any words yet or walked and I just know the moment he's in nursery he'll say them there.

He's also got the MMR jab tomorrow. Still feel a bit weird about it but it's been proven in doesn't lead to autism.

It's okay boodleboot, neither myself or DH are enjoying it either. DH just keeps saying he can't wait until I'm pregnant and I imagine if an when I am that he'll be so happy - because he won't have to have sex with me for another year give or take.

sunburntats and louisesh I'm so sorry.

Currently eating my way through a box of After Eights.

Cheepz · 16/12/2009 21:30

Evening all

meita you are a gem - now i feel caught up with everyone, even smelly mrsr (lmao at that one). still raises a smile for me every time i see that bottom line on the grads.

effalump and sam123 - welcome seems like there are a few and with some really sad stories, makes me feel bad that i moan when i have ds and i can only imagine how much worse it would be if I was TTC dc #1. Sorry for what you are all going through and hope we can all be of some help here. If anyone wants adding to the list post details and someone will do it.

Have informed dh that we are going to eat, drink and be merry over christmas and then shag like rabbits in the new year, doesn't bode well for this month given we will be in france, land of mega not conception friendly cheese, wine, coffee and seafood but you never know, maybe a drunken fumble on boxing day will yield some results!! But from first post xmas cycle we will be getting back in the saddle so to speak.

boodle know where you are, i was there month before last, was soooooo sure and then soooooooooo disappointed. its a bunch of shite.

have updated list and looks like we are waiting for news from lee, jollster and barrenbrook ... any news

also tigger and tiger and cake all been very quiet of late - hope you are all doing ok and just busy in the whole manic christmas shenanigins.

SUNBURN thats pants !!!! Poor you your story makes me realise how lucky i ve been on the 2 occassions i ve been an inpatient in hospital all the staff i ve encountered have been lovely and i ve recieved fab care.It s rather hard to defend the NHS sometimes which makes it even harder for me as i m a nurse!!! Take care xx

Feel a bit sad today don t like xmas and just want it out of the way as it just reminds me i ve no children and for the last 2 xmas'es should have been pg if things had gone to plan.....its sh*t.

Arh BOODLE totally with you...

SUNBURN just re-read your post and yes i feel exactly like you that my body is failing in being able to do the most basic of "womanly" functions. My mum had 4 kids, all y friends have kids ,every female i work with have kids and i see a lot of patients [some quite young] who get pg and don t MC at the drop of a hat or use termination as a form of contreception....again it stinks!!!!

Sorry whinge, whinge, whinge!!!!! You all know what its like some days are fine then it hits you like a hammer in the face !!!!!! I ve 3 failed pgs and 2 years down the line got no kids and now facing the possibility of ivf!!!!

Hi to everyone else.....hope you re all well.Must pick myself up again thanks all for your support...X

boodleboot · 16/12/2009 17:01

oh sunburn poor you hun....sounds like a truly vile experience. CAn't believe some people can be so insensitive and these are supposed to be caring professionals... When i was recovering from ectopic in sept in hideous amounts of pain from the surgery the nurses wouldn't even help me on to a bed pan and i ended up with ruptured stitches trying to do it myself....

so sorry for your pain but we will be with you every step of the way as you battle with answers to those questions of yours, get as angry as you like on here, we know how crappy you must be feeling....sending you BIG HUGE HUGS

sunburntats · 16/12/2009 16:09

Hi, I think that i am recovering ok now. managed to go out and do a bit today, also cleaned and did some washing. Tummy is settling and im not crying every 10 minutes.

The thing i cant stop thinking about is the fact that on the gynae ward, i had a cylinder of entonox wheeled in, then i was left to it. No hand holding, not much sympathy and not even a blood pressure check.....All night.
Contractions every 5 minutes throughout the night and not even an "how are you doing?"
I was completely alone through out.
A Dr came in at the begining of the night and said that i had not yet passed any "baby bits", wtf!

This was my 4th miscarriage in hospital,(my 1st was at home)i knew what to expect but what about those poor lasses who are experiencing their firts loss?

Its awful, made worse by the neglect & insensitivity.
Cylinder ran out at 6am as the contractions were stopping.....just after that i did pass the "baby bits".

How will i ever get over this?
Will i ever have another baby?
And more importantly what the fuck is wrong with me that i cant have a normal pregnancy?

boodleboot · 16/12/2009 15:57

hello to all newbies....i'm not normally so miserable but am very miserable this week....bear with me....its been a rough year and i really wound myself up last month thinking i was pregnant.....nice to have you with us....

mrsR - ok, fuck it, i will do it every other night starting tonight for the rest of the month or at LEAST until day 21....but i will NOT enjoy it and thats the end of it....

MrsRigby · 15/12/2009 21:13

louisesh I'm proud of your dedication. Enjoy your night off .

MrsRigby · 15/12/2009 21:11

Evening

Welcome samanthaB123 I'm so sorry your going through a miscarriage . Your in the right place, everyone is REALLY lovely - I've never met such a nice bunch of women.

effilump I miscarried at home and had to take the baby to the hospital also. He/she was on a piece of toilet paper (Andrex Shea Butter) that we put in a freezer bag and then in a small Boots bag. It's desperately sad . The midwifes seemed suprised that the baby was still in the sac, which was intact .

What I found insensitive was the doctor asking us if we wanted to go ahead with the pregnancy or terminate if I didn't miscarry .

That said, I didn't cry and was extremly calm throughout the whole thing so he may have thought we didn't want to be pregnant. I'll never know why I'm able to deal with death and other horrible stuff, unlike normal people it just doesn't bother me.

meita you'll be proud of me. I've been on Fertility Friend updating my details .

boodleboot by my reckoning I'm in the 2WW and can test on Christmas Day. Come on surely I'll get a BFP on Christmas Day. Just in case I ovulate late though, DH and I are going up in an hour for sex . So fed up of all this. Just want to be pregnant already. I mean sex every 2 days for a whole month almost - surely I'll get a BFP.

I'm just not going to think about it anymore .

louisesh · 15/12/2009 20:57

Hi All....Totally agree with you BOODLE it all gets soo boring and tiresome doesn t it????

Hi to EFFILUMP" soo sorry its crap isn t it? I ve had 1 MC,1MMC and 1 CP in the last 14 months..... So know what its like.Hi SAMANTHA* again , sorry its crap, crap, crap!!!!!

Hi MEITA hope you re feeling ok fingers crossed for you....Yes i ve started taking "baby" aspirin dr at the re-current miscarriage clinic said theres no concrete evidence either way for or against aspirin but i figure why not???? i ve nothing to loose.....

Hope everyone else is well...I m knackered out last night straight after work didn t get to bed until mid-night then up at 6am for work.Just in from work now after my long day!!!!! So shower then bed Managed a quick Bd yesterday before going out!!!!

Night off tonight too tired back to it tomorrow night.....

SamanthaB123 · 15/12/2009 19:29

Hello, can I join in too? I have two older children, 11 and 9 from a previous relationship and am recently married. We would really like to have a baby and became pregnant at the first attempt. I am miscarrying even as I write and feeling a little sad but am determined to try again...

Meita · 15/12/2009 19:13

Hi ladies!

MrsR your symptoms sure sound promising. Especially the bit where you can smell yourself from two rooms away

cheepz, sorry that AF got you. Secretly I was hoping that with you being all relaxed about it all, it was bound to happen for you. Still, keep up the cool. I'm sure it won't be long now, and one month more or less is not such a huge difference, is it. You know, your theory that it is easier to conceive when you are more relaxed, really worked for me. Hoping it will work for you too.

glasgow charting your temperature is really easy, but it does take some discipline. Basically you measure your temperature every morning BEFORE getting up and write it down. If you use a programme such as FertilityFriend.com it will do the analysis for you and explain everything. It will tell you when you ovulated (but only in hindsight) and will tell you when to expect AF or when it would make sense to test. Overall, you learn to understand your cycle a lot better. However, temp-ing cannot replace OPKs. In order to PREDICT ovulation, you have to observe your cervical mucus. FertilityFriend also explains how to do that.
Hey, and if you think that's too much trouble and want to stick with OPKs: Have you tried the cheap e-bay ones? Saves you lots of money.

lee good to hear that you are de-stressed. How are you now? Has AF already announced her arrival?
No, I won't get an early scan. I've got an appointment with the midwife on 14th January and the scan will probably only be towards week 12, i.e. in February - if I make it so far. Maybe I'll ask DP for a private scan as a Christmas present

louise Good for you, that your body is back in balance enough for you to ovulate and that you are TTC again already! My fingers are all crossed for you. I was wondering, given your "history", did you try anything like baby aspirin or progesterone cream? I started taking baby aspirin last week. GP said yesterday that she would not advise me to take them but would not tell me NOT to take them either. I'll keep going for now. Anything that might help.

Welcome effilump and sorry for your loss. It is so sad. Wishing you all the best for TTC again - you'll find lots of lovely support here. I can't believe they told you to bring the "baby" in. How do they think you should manage to do that?!

runfor, I hope you got through the anniversary of your MC all right. Have a hug. It's great that your cycle is finally sorting itself out!

Zayja, our new charting queen. It's scary sometimes, isn't it, to discover things about yourself you were pretending to yourself about... Still, take it easy dear, don't let it turn into an obsession.

boodle I think it is just natural to have times when you soooo just don't feel up to it. Take it easy on yourself.

Me: Well I'm going strong so far. All feelings of nausea have left, but I realized that this coincided with me starting to take vitamin tablets containing ginger against nausea, so not too worried. Am still charting my temps and every morning when I get a high value I am immensely relieved. I am just past the time when I MCed the last pregnancy - feels good. Was a bit surprised about the GPs attitude - she was all "well you are pregnant, so you are having a baby" while I was very "so I'm pregnant, let's see how long it lasts". I realised that perhaps I should let myself believe in it all going well. I mean, it won't really hurt less if it goes wrong if I kept worrying beforehand. If this pregnancy doesn't last long, I might as well enjoy it while it DOES last.

Wanted to say: Thanks everyone for all your support, now and in the past. I don't know what I would do without you all.

RunForTheHills · 15/12/2009 16:53

Effilump cannot believe how insensitive some medical departments can be. Is it not your first MC?

MrsRigby · 15/12/2009 12:01

boodleboot I'm right there with you.

Effilump · 15/12/2009 09:55

Got to go and have a re scan tomorrow, i suppose they can check nothings been left behind, although I am still bleeding, I was asked to take the 'baby' (It was around 7 wks, maybe a bit less when it stopped growing) in, for them to examine! Apart from a few big clots, (sorry if tmi) there hasnt been anything to take in, Im not going to save every bloody clot am I!

boodleboot · 15/12/2009 08:42

i have got zero enthusiasm for TTC....can't even be bothered to check CM....i feel slightly bored by it all and the thought of a 2ww again with symptom spotting just leaves me cold....can't even be bothered to muster a plan re BD times this month and that is my unusual......i think i have post-ttc depression....
